Nice restaurant with good Chinese food. I really liked the decor, especially the clouds painted on the ceiling and the trickling waterfall wall. If you have time after your meal, you can walk across the street and go for a walk around the lovely lakeside park.

Enjoyed my meal of cashew chicken. Large portion serve. Had glass of wine. Very good meal!!!

Have always had great service and wonderful food at China Restaurant.

came in for lunch. got the Sichuan pork. Over priced for fake chinese food. This doesnt taste anything like the real thing at all. each vegetable in the dish is rotting, meat is not seasoned. overly salty because the cook doesnt measure sodium levels. the food is glazed with fake Sichuan Sauce knock off brand sauce. paid too much for poorly cooked not chinese authentic food. A can of spam with rice would do better than what I ate here. Expect overly price fake food here. Dont believe me, eat it then.

Theres no way this is Chinese food! No flavors or seasoning. The meat was really weird. The best I could describe the taste is it tasted like salt and watered down soy sauce. (For everything I ordered: fried rice, pork lo mein, potstickersThe only thing that had any sort of taste or seasoning was the egg drop soup. That was quite tasty. I always finish my food when I eat out, but this the first time ever I have thrown away any food (more than half of my leftovers). I understand the issue may be catering to the local taste tho, which unfortunately is not real Chinese food one bit.

Update, a bit less satisfied with lunch and service at lunch.Delicious Chinese food with large portions, especially combos at lunch time. 4 rather than 5 stars because prices are creeping up! Still worth it though for nice atmosphere and friendly staff!

The best Chinese restaurant we have found. BeIng from north Missouri and semi broke down at shop. We experienced local businesses. Will definitely have to stop here again sometime.

Decent food (we ordered takeout for 6 people), busy place. Somewhat inefficient checkout, but heard they are short-staffed. Very friendly and polite owners. It looked like menu online differs a bit from in-house menu. For example, I didnt see honey chicken online, but menu at my parents home had honey chicken listed. Typical Asian fare...amazing amount of chicken in the chicken fried rice.

If youve ever had Chinese food anywhere, anytime, you may be challenged to understand what you experience here. The best way I can put it is they must be catering to a hyper local audience who have that Minnesota palate desiring only bland flavors. Im including even salt and pepper in the generous use of the term "flavor" - I mean there was zero seasoning, no salt, no pepper, in any dish or appetizer. It was truly strange to this table of eaters. The staff was friendly and engaging, though they should be careful not to clear table away while people are still putting food into to go containers. (Take home and add seasonings, sauces, etc.One advantage was that entrees were very generous in their size/volume.

Traveling home from Iowa,we stopped in kinda late,very good food, atmosphere,service. Well be back again.

We came during lunch. The LUNCH MENU was around $15-$16 per meal. So we left and got Chinese at a restaurant where the lunch menu prices were around $7-8 each. Way overpriced.

Ambiance was delightful, food was excellent, service was friendly and fast. Wonderful experience!

Been there probably a total of three times, wishing my experience would get better. Not only is it overpriced, but I swear there is no taste when it comes to their food.

The gentleman who helped us at the front counter was friendly and a conversationalist. The artwork in there is so gorgeous and Id honestly go in there just to appreciate that. I didnt like the sauce much that they used. However, my boyfriend really enjoyed it and said that it tasted very fresh. Im just on the picky side. I would definitely recommend. Coolest setup.

Chinese restuarant with panache! Inside at the back of the spacious dining hall you can find a pleasantly babbling waterfall and a series of comfortable alcoves along the walls left and right each one uniquely featuring popular artifacts of Chinese culture.Doing quadruple duty as waiter, maitre-de, cashier and proprietor, our orders were skillfully taken and swiftly delivered. Out here in the sticks of course its very americanized and pretty bland but the Chinese style and culture still very identifiable.We were dining with two old friends just like us and so we lingered a long while for the company, just chatting and laughing. Luckily the joint was not very busy at that hour and the crew seemed just fine.Thank you so very much for your kind hospitality, we enjoyed our visit and hope to visit again soon!

We loved the food. We ordered the generals chicken and kung pow triple delight. We loved that they served the entrees family style because it made it so easy to share. The egg rolls were huge. Everything was fresh hot and delicious. The service was fast. We were seated immediately. We got our drinks and food faster than expected. Our waitress was attentive and helpful bringing drink refills on a hot day before we had to ask.

My fav Chinese restaurant in town! Best crab ragoons ever! The prices are high, but the quality of food and the amount you get it, its worth it. My favorite is the majestic chicken and beef lo mein. Always a treat!

After a previous visit. We returned last evening,3/16/19 and we were extremely happy with our food and our service. It was hot, fresh, and delicious. Our waitress was top notch. Portions were huge. Definitely worth the trip.

Great restaurant. We come from a much larger city and this place impressed. The vegetables are fresh and the meat was flavorful. Price is on average with other Chinese restaurants but even better based on the quality of produce used. Service is prompt and polite. This is a once a week treat for us.

The service was great, but the decor needs a little bit of updating and the food was a bit bland. The flavor was a little too Americanized. The menu really needs to be paired down so they have 20 great dishes instead of 40 mediocre one.

The exterior of the building is unassuming and you’re left in the parking lot wondering if you’re in the right place.The portions are good for one person but you’re better off getting several dishes to share if you’re with a group. The staff is friendly and the food came out quick. Not bad for a small town!

My wife and I have always stopped here on our way through Albert Lea. Previously all of our experience there was positive as the food was great, and the restaurant was very visually appealing (I love the fountain in the back). However our most recent trip (July 2018was not that great. The food smelled bad and did not taste good. Im not sure what the difference was. We had ordered the same food on previous stops and it had been great. Not sure if well stop there again.

My entire exprerience at this place was a joke. The owners name is Jonny. I met him because he completely screwed up my order. We placed an order and he left a couple things completely off the order. I simply asked him to give me the food that I paid for and he called me a liar. the food we did receive was average at best. If you are looking for a pleasant experience avoid this place all together.

Fresh, delicious options, like lightly fried spicy tofu and the best egg drop soup, make it easy to enjoy your veggies. Beef, pork, poultry, and seafood options are consistently high quality. Harmonious courtyard atmoshpere aside, the generous portions (yes, lunch!and friendly, professional service have kept people returning to China Restaurant for years.

Tired the food, it was made very fast and prompt, the soup I ordered was alright at best, it tasted as if it was made and chilled and recooked to order(like old soup the pricing was very high! This place is like the fast food version of a Chinese restaurant. If you compare it to the rest of the area asain cooking, id say I would prefer a buffet or even Hy-vee. So that’s what makes the pricing so terrible, the Asain Market id still say is the best by far, sometimes they have some waiting time but the wait is definitely worth it and a lot cheaper than here as well. So I’m basically giving it 2 stars because it’s advertised as basically 5 star Chinese food with 5 star pricing with2 star taste, the only thing to look forward to is fast service. If your stoned or drunk maybe it’s better

Ordered a take out. No customers were there when I picked up. Now I know why. Got pineapple duck, duck was tough and gross. Pineapples werent ripe/sweet. Crab Rangoon was good with dipping sauce. Got the shrimp chow mein and didnt even get any noodles, shrimp was good but everything else was okay. I wouldnt order from here again.

One of the worst chinese restaurants anywhere in America. We were just driving through, and yelp or trip advisor recommended this place. Yipes. We wouldve had a better meal if wed have bought Little Debbies at the grocery store and ate them on that cute little island across the bridge.

This is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Albert Lea. No wonder it has been in business for 28 years! The owner, who is usually our server, is very kind and sociable. The restaurant is pretty unassuming from the outside, but the interior is nice. Best of all, the China Restaurant has fantastic food. Any items I have had off the menu have been excellent. Favorites of mine are the 8 Treasure Chicken and the Orange Chicken. You cant go wrong. You may also order take out. Quick service for both order in and take out.

Met at 8 pm Saturday evening by a polite and helpful gentleman. Nice atmosphere. Great egg rolls, not greasy and tasty filling. Wife and I had the General Tso Chicken. Very good. Lots of good chicken, modest but tasty breading, excellent sauce if a little different than some others. Pleased with the food and service.

Ive never had a bad experience here. The menu is varied. On the last visit here, in September 2016, we, as a family, had 5 different meals. We sampled one anothers meals, and we found all good, most excellent.The staff is very friendly and kind, the management is very attentive, even doing their office work at the entry desk to make sure everyone is not needing something. The management even took time from their office work to walk around, and ask if every table was satisfied, or needed anything, any beverage refills.We all loved our experience here, and are so glad we went here. The prices were very reasonable, and we had an extra couple of meals out of the remaining food after we had eaten as much as we could! Delightful. We liked the atmosphere. Yes, it wasnt the most fancy place in the world, but it was well maintained, and tasteful, and comfortable.It was my birthday celebration, and I was most happy with it!

Atmosphere was great. They have a little rock wall with a trickle of water running over it. Very relaxing. Food was great. Not many people working but they were very friendly. Would go again.

One of the worst Chinese restaurants I have been. Ordered the bland beef and broccoli ended up with half a plate of rice. If this is what people call good, they need to get out of town once in a while. Avoid this dump.

The worst sesame chicken Ive ever had. Ordered a dinner at lunch, they threw together a meal, slapped some kind of sauce on a half cut up chicken breast. Not what I was expecting and no knife. Thanks I was wanting a delish sesame chicken dinner..... not sure what it was.
