China Beach Restaurant - Chinese restaurant in Paraparaumu, New Zealand
Tried lots of stuff. Loved it. Probably need to work on the drunk menu. Byo wine. Chur L
Six of us shared the delicious meals on the revolving platter, Peking duck, lemon chicken, crispy pork, sweet and sour pork, prawn with noodles, chicken with mixed veggies, Mongolian beef and lots of rice .Full bellies all round, good service and not too expensive! Great place to eat Chinese food 😍
Yummy fresh and good service
Not too bad but could have been more of a variety of veges
Loved it.
Ordered a Chicken Cashew nuts and Orange beef. Its was really good. Recommend
Good food, worth going.
Always yum food and good service.Have gluten free options
Staff were very friendly and the food was really nice! It came really fast. We ordered the duck pancakes, lamb and pepper sizzler, orange chicken and egg fried rice. Would recommend all dishes!
Bang average, got the orange beef with rice. The orange beef had hardly any sauce leaving it very bland and the rice was like it had been warmed up in a microwave. Disappointed
Ordered food to be picked up. Forgot 1 item then gave us sticky not fluffy rice. Spoke to owner who said that the "water was wrong" in the rice...no refund or how to put right.. certainly wouldnt go back
Very nice food good fast service
Food is great but ambience awful- the lighting is too bright!!
First time here. Good food. Good service. Value for money
Excellent food and service, very happy
Just had a really nice meal there , good fast service. Would have gone 5 if they used real cream on the fried icecream it was pretty dam good all the same .
Really pleased to have a dine-in Chinese restaurant in Paraparaumu. Our table of 7 was no problem. Service was great, meals exactly as expected & good prices too. Food tasty without being overly salted. We dined early, by the time we left the place was almost full, the word must be getting around about how good they are. Also do takeaways, & were happy to give us a couple of doggy-bags for what we couldnt finish. I recommended the bami goring & the sizzling beef.
One of the few eat-in Chinese restaurants on the Coast. Food is more home-cooked than other places. Extensive menu. I highly recommend China Beach. Quick & friendly takeaway service.
Love the crispy duck there! My favourite chinese cuisine now.
Good food, good service. Will definitely be going back again.
Sweet & Sour Chicken takeaway, very disappointing as the chicken was as tough as leather. Wont be going there again.
Beautiful foodAwesome recommend this place it is great
Food was nice but wish all the food came at the same time not one plate at a time
Excellent service great food. Highly recommended.
Had takeaways. Combination chow mien! 4 pieces of very skinny broccoli, the sparse slivers of carrot x 3 meant nothing and udon noodles with 4 minute pieces of meat is not a chow mien. So disappointed after so many weeks of lockdown. Need to up their game. Won’t be back.
Delicious food and great atmosphere but decor is dated and restaurant is very dimly lit
Very disappointing.Sketchy service, threadbare table cloths, food splattered walls and menus, terrible jazz background music (why on earth?).Only one other couple were dining with 20+ tables empty, this probably should have been a warning to us.Food was ok, but nothing more.I wont be rushing back soon.
If you wanted kiwized Chinese food you will love this place.BUT if you want authentic Chinese food , as this place advertises, you will be sadly disappointed. I have been here twice , first time l ordered something off menu and last time l had a banquetI believe every dish , bar one , was subjected to a sugar laden commercial sauce bought in bulk ! Food was pleasañt enough if you want that much sugar it could easily have been confused with a desert, had you been blindfolded!Nothing authentic about the meals here except the priceIf you want something truly Chinese ( and not a sauce out of jar I suggest you give it a miss.
Amazing food and great service. Definitely recommend the orange beef and bbq pork
The service was not that friendly to start with-then after trying a chicken dish,I had a very upset stomach. I probably wont return.
Wonderful experience of Chinese food .Staff very helpful .Will pass on to my friends .
Went with a group of 8 people. We had the banquet menu and it was devine! Plenty of food and very tasty. Good variety of dishes.
Received exceptional service from the young waitress. Very polite and friendly. Food was average, a bit oily but nothing unusual for a Chinese restaurant.
the staff were firendly and the food was alright. The portion sizes were pretty good for the price
Took a long time to get order and only ones on shop. Then found items missing when go home. Dumplings were bland and doughy.
I came and got wonton soup to take away, it was very bland no flavour at all, the wontons were very stodgy, the wrapper was tough and hard at the ends. I will not be back
Was a real pleasure to eat the food was delicious on our stay went twice
Food was really nice.. Waitress was nice and friendly.
A very nice meal with a good selection from the menu.. well priced too.
We diner here on a Saturday night two weeks ago.Really enjoyed the food and the dishes were a generous size
My favorite restaurant at the moment. Great place to dine in or take away, everything tastes amazing (expressly the sweet and sour pork). Restaurant is situated in the perfect spot, in will all the other restaurants and shops, whilst still being straight across from the beach.
Excellent service & excellent food ! Stir fry vegetables is the best ever I have ever tasted. It is light & crisply fresh. Their Pekin roast duck has crispy skin different from most Chinese restaurants we have been to. Crispy skin has less fat while maintaining the flavour of the skin. We will go there again tomorrow evening.
New owners so gave it a try, very nice, food excellent, service very good. Will add this back to our restaurant list of places to eat.
Had an early dinner there with family.Place smelt like moth balls.Found it strange to have Elvis playing loudly at a Chinese restaurant. It was eventually turned down but certainly did nothing for the atmosphere which was drastically non chinese.Decor was drab as was the furniture. The food: Although due to initial expectations being low was pleasantly surprised as to the quality and taste of the meal.Spring rolls tasty but overcooked. Wontons ok. I had a mixture of NasiGoeng and Satay Chicken. Both very nice.Price: $27 average main. Made the banquets looked attractive at $35-$38 each for 3 courses.Wouldnt run back in a hurry unless fot a takeout meal.
Now under new management, MUCH better but portions are smaller and prices are up. Menu is good but items are mainly for 2,3,4 or more people. Overall a big improvement in menu and food.
High quality food, very enjoyable. Had a family dinner here and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Would recommend.
Very expensive for the little food we received also not marvelous food deserts terrible
We hadnt been to China Beach for a number of years, however tonights experience was great. Very good food, enjoyed by the three of us. Will definitely return.
Ordered takeaways tonight, everything was delicious! Havent ordered takeaways for sometime from here and hadnt realised restaurant had changed hands. Food was generous, not a watties mixed vegetable in sight - yay!Definitely recommend:)
Delicious food, friendly staff and very clean and tidy will definitely be back.
