Chimbulak ski resort in Qarazhal

Well, this place worth the visit in all perspectives. Calm, peaceful, good for those who need fresh air and some time of quietness to think, recover and heal .. yes place is cooled considering its level from see 2.6km+, hotel is not perfect and need maintenance in many forms & you will notice issues of course, but there are many other things will compensate for that, for me the people at the resort and staff didnt save any effort in making our stay at best they could afford, the hotel and restaurant .. they were helpful. If you are going there most probably you came to do hikes, ride horses, meditate, read, work remotely etc. Therefore you wont have an expectation of a perfect and luxury room. Rooms are basic and old in furniture but you will have a great balcony..

Awesome place, so close to Almaty. Impressive how european vibe its here. It feels like in Switzerland, but also it has moreover suiss prices. Anyway, great resort. I didnt expected such a quality in Kazakhstan. Good luck with developing this place

Great place to spend time with family and friends and just get away from noise of the city and from your anxiety 😅 fresh air, lots of restaurants with local food and coffee shops, cable car takes you up to 3200 m and in winter I bet it’s amazing activity and view

Very beautiful. We are very lucky to have visited here. Just the experience of riding the lifts is fun in itself.

If you never went with a gondola, it’s a great experience for sure. They also have glass bottom ones, for a slightly higher prize (360 version). The landscape in summer is nice. But I expected more from the very top. There it was kind of boring. Would have been enough to go to the first station for us. There are also many restaurants. Also quite expensive ones like the one we tried, 40$ for two persons without starters and without dessert.All on one a nice but expensive day.

It was winters, a Sunday & decided to visit this ski resort where Winter Olympics were also held. The road from Almaty City to the starting point was marvelous with beautiful scenery all around.The parking was crowded so was the ticket kiosk. After waiting a while & queuing to mount the cable car we were treated with beautiful scenic views of the snow covered valleys & the mountains. Met a lovely German couple who also came to visit their birth place Almaty.As soon as we landed there was an electronic sign declaring -10 temperature. People were just enjoying skiing, running around, drinking beer n coffee & few clicking fotos. There was an electric atmosphere.Of course there were restaurants to warm up with their internal temperatures & coffee also offering meals. All sorts of winter sports gear was also available on rent.Mind it, being an isolated place prices were a little high.Overall it was a really COOL place to visit.

This place is full of natural beauty 😍 The mountains are great, and the snow has melted by July.

Cool place! Fun place to ski or just eat!

The people at eagle photo booth are cheaters. They charged full (10k KZT for 5 photos), made us wait for one hour by stating every 5 minutes to come back and check, and finally after an argument with them they took us to a printing place and got the photos printed in few minutes. So not sure why they lie and keep people waiting. Maybe a nexus for having people spent time and money in the restaurants around.

I visited Shymbulak Mountain Resort in April so the snow was almost gone, though the cable car still worked and I saw the beautiful landscapes on the way up to the resort from the cable car station. This place is around 20-25 minutes away from Almaty city. Must be gorgeous in winter.

Good place to visit. Many Restaurants are available. Children will love this place very much

If you are ski lover then this place for you only.Suggest to take comb1 n combi 2 ticket which take you to the top of peak.If you are going to enjoy only, then be at shymbulak and then go towards road and walk there.Great views of valleys, play with snow.Lot of restaurants in all places which serves great food.

We had a blast. Fast lifts. The lodge at the summit has great food and we love the outdoor music and party on the top level!

For students & tourists take taxi or bus to sky resort symbulak where you can buy ropeway Ticket 5000 tenge return ticket include . And enjoy the rest.Dont forgot wear snow shoes and 2-3 pair shocs . 🧤 Also very nessasorry .

Wonderful clean air, great restaurants, activities on instruction, there is also a hotel starting from about 70usd per night standard room. Its food for family, or a lovely date

Been there only for 10 minutes. We got there to see mountains. Cable railway did not work, we used a bus. And that is definitely worth it! The view was adorable! I believe that is a great place for skiing. One should visit this place in winter

Very beautiful view, but take a warm clothes

The place to visit when in Almaty. Just a 40 minute ride by the local Yandex taxi, a merger between Uber and the local Yandex taxi service cost about USD 6 in local currency. Keep exact change though as the drivers all say they dont have change.From base camp, which is about 1500m you take the cable car 3 runs to the top at over 3200m for a breathtaking view and postcard scenery.Multiple ski runs running from fall to spring with wide long slopes for both amatures as well as experts.Several restaurants at each level and one cafe at the top before the ski run down the slopes.

Good ski resort. Its very high with good snow. However, its mostly on the shady side of the mountain so its quite cold. Also it isnt that big yet

One of the best quality price destination in Almaty. The sky resort and restaurants at reasonable price. One recommendation, if you think of staying at the hotel resort, use their shuttle/ taxi service. It will be much easier and comfortable than if you use other means of transportation. Road access to the resort is restricted only for habitats and certain users.

Just returned, very nice, although we did not manage to get to final point, snow melting and we did not have time, there were new snow and we had just running shoes.We did not expect to go there. Recommend.

Nice resort with great pistas. At some places it is really wide with great space to ride. During sunny days there are amazing views around. Lifts could be faster but can do. Try to avoid weekends when it is obviously busy. Also watch out the rentals - they do rent broken stuff.

Beautiful ski area...We were here at September end. At some places we saw snow. At level 3 there is a restaurant which serves delicious non veg food. It took us 30 mins to reach level 3 by gandola.

It was beautiful place with great view. Along the way to start point of cable car, there has wild apple garden everywhere. The weather just nice, not too cool and not so hot, end of summer and beginning of winter. Thw winter here can go up until - 40 degree celcius. Here, there are two checkpoint cable car. Each stop you need to buy new ticket. But seriously it is worth it to buy extra ticket as the view was superb!

As for this part of the world it is a great place. Wide slopes, usually a lot of snow. Qiet good infrastructure, unexceptionally nice restaurants, good lifts. Great place for advanced skiers. Sometimes a lot of total newbies unfortunatelly.

1. Its rather small ski resort with only one riding zone, 2. Lifts ok, 3.Only two hotels up there, but close to the city, so consider to stay there.
