Museum in the former City Hall with documents, artifacts & oral histories from the city's past.
It is a small museum located in a beautiful historic building. Now (August 2022), an exhibition is dedicated to indigenous schools of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. You can see rare photographs of those times and some exciting household items there.
Indrukwekkende fotoreportage van de geschiedenis van de oorspronkelijke bewoners van het gebied en hun interactie met de blanke kolonisator.
Went and saw the museum a few times....Just know it is cold in there so bring a sweater 😊
Only 4 stars because we were passing through and didnt have time to go in but the building looked interesting.
I visited while there were no exhibits to view (they were opening just a couple days after I was to fly home!but this place gets 5 stars just for the fact of how absolutely kind staff were, and the merch in the gift shop was really nice! Especially loved the water bottle designs.
Wonderful display - creativity in quarantine
I donated an country folk album that I found. Musicians were from Chilliwack and it was signed by the then Mayor. Dated around 1972. Museum had no other copies
Worth a look, very nice building.
A great place to learn about our heritage.
Good place to visit
The staff were all excellent! A friendly museum worker talked to us about the historic downtown and what the museum had to offer, which was a big help because this was our first time in Chilliwack! The displays were a joy to look at, and the memory jars exhibit was fun and interactive! Definitely recommend checking this place out.
A real gem in our city, more locals need to visit this fine establishment.
Lots of amateur art that are wonderful.
New to Chilliwack. Loved seeing the past and what the not too distant future looks like for 5 Corners. Super exciting:)!
Great place to kill an hour
Not only is the museum portion very informative and full neat and interesting pieces of history, the upstairs is has a great hall area for events and meetings. Outside is also very well maintained.
Beautiful Museum! Learning about the history of the city we live in is definitely a must! The staff at the Museum were very friendly and helpful. I’m looking forward to my next visit to the Museum. A great Energy occupies in this building ⭐️
Friendly staff/Volunteers. Interesting little place
I nicely curated museum in a beautiful old building. There permanent exhibit explores the history of Chilliwack in a really great way. For only $3 it’s worth a visit to learn about Chilliwack and to support the historical society.
Great place. Check it out and give it your support.
Very nice little museum, the bulding seems small from the outside but you will be amazed and the amount of stuff inside. Is a great source for the history of the town and one of its prettiest jewels in my opinion. And its location is super convenient.
Some old fashioned history in a quaint old building...
So interesting to see the beginnings of European settlers coming to this area.
Lots of history presented well
Found this very interesting and reasonably priced. Loved the picture of the Gun Totin Women of Chilliwack.
More people should know about this place bring your groups, kids, and families. Learn about Chilliwack history
What a wonderful building! I was there for an evening event. Beautiful
Learn about the history of Chilliwack and the surrounding towns and villages in the building that was the town hall. Many artifacts are on display. The exhibits are fascinating and interactive. Its not a particularly large museum so we managed to see everything in a relatively short amount of time. Worth a visit.
Its a great place to learn about the historical part of chilliwake B.C.
Nice, old building. I was there for a conference so I didnt actually use the museum part.
If youre a Chilliwack resident and you havent been here, its about time to discover this gem in the city. Go learn about your area and all of the others that make up our awesome place. The history of local mountaineering is a very well done exibit not to be missed. Go see it before its too late.
Quaint little place with amicable staff
I very seldom rate museums so high. This time, it is for the professional staff who helped answer questions with engaged enthusiasm. They were busy working, but when we needed their informed help, they dropped everything to find answers. Their positive energy really made the visit. Very clean, bright premises. Spent over 2 hours there, soaking up the well-designed and informative displays.
Very awsome to know your history & families with the cultural background
Very informative about the local history, a temporary display that will rotate once every few months.
Excellent small museum
Friendly staff and very cheap with a 3$ price of admission but... The museum is quite small and half of it is a collection of old Cameras. The other half is a small sampling of town photos and an even smaller variety of artifacts.
Lovely staff, very helpful and accommodating. The main displays are not very large, but are well assembled and interesting, and the price is perfectly reasonable. The secret weapon (for parentsis the kids craft project upstairs. Can entertain my boys for an extra hour up there, and provides a great view of Salish Park. (Call ahead to make sure they have a craft project ongoing, its not there every day).
