Upscale Thai eatery with stylish bar, serving authentic fare and lunchtime street food small plates.
Hey guys, just a heads up - the restaurant is no longer open on Lark Lane. They still have other restaurants in the UK, just not on Lark Lane 😊👍🏼
This is our favorite Thai restaurant! Great food, great price and great service every time we come here. I highly recommend this place on Lark Lane
Popped in and enjoyed the express lunch deal. Very reasonable smaller portions of selected regular menu dishes. Would recommend
Very disappointed, food, although delicious, had very small portions, particularly the mains. When asked if we were happy with our food, we stated that the portions were tiny, and that we would notbe returning. After 5 minutes, a discount card was given to us for our next visit, despite us stating categorically, that we wouldnt be returning.
Love this restaurant, if you like spicy food ask for it thai style yum yum
Came with my girlfriend and was impressed by the food and hospitality. Would definitely recommend.
Delicious food, vegan friendly and outstanding customer service on the rare occasions when problems occur. Firm favourite on speed dial.
Havent been here for years.Last minute choise.Fantastic. Food, wine and service first class. Will be back soon. 👍
Very delicious Thai food, nice and friendly staff, great atmosphere, thank you and see you soon!
Restaurant is great, friendly staff, food not the best Thai I have had but not bad.
Yum yum yum - best pad Thai Ive ever had and been here so many times now. Great staff, HUGE portions, great cocktails... I shall keep coming back!
Amazing and wonderful staff and cocktails x
Great food, lovely staff,, value for money
By far the best Thai food Ive had in the UK! Nice atmosphere and staff are really lovely. Great place to take the parents! Also, the sweet sticky noodles are amazing.
Real Thai cuisine right here!!!Heard great reviews and been highly recommended so booked a table for my partners birthday and our mouths water for the taste again... the Panang Duck is the most amazing duck you will have ever tasted! And those flamed greens are delicious! The team at Chilli Banana were excellent and gave us an intimate dinner date, all smiles and was on the ball throughout our memorable experience.Myself and my partner appreciate great food and cocktails that we stayed here till closing...overall 3 hours, the cocktails were freshly made with an exciting real kick.Overall this was a 10/10 experience and were returning from Notts soon for another fab evening (Valentines and my birthday nextbig Thank you to all the team.... will be returning as friends from Nikki and Paul.
Lovely food! Reasonably priced for portion size
Unable, to fault/ food, service..Plates , coffee, cold. Not recommended at all, to disabled people?See reviews! Ok M?
Our first visit. Food quite good, although the corn cake starter was disappointing. Should have sent it back. It looked as though the corn cakes had broken up but was served anyway. It was a special occasion meal so didnt want to make a fuss but as I said I should have sent it back. Good friendly service. Disappointing chefs trio dessert. Not sure there will be a second visit.
Lovely food, pretty decor and very nice staff
I loved the food here & the staff really care & seem to genuinely love their work.
Got recommended by tripadvisor. Came for a date but it was literally the worst Thai food I’ve ever had(as a half Thai person). Nothing authentic at all. Wouldn’t recommend anyone if you are looking for any good Thai food in town. No fault of the waiting staff who were great.
What a great place to eat. The food & service is excellent.
Food was okay but the service took more than a hour...lovely staff but not upto the mark
We loved it here! Staff is very friendy and attentive and food delicious. Dessert was special as well
Clean and tidy place. Pleasant staff. I love thai food but the beef satay was a little tough and the noodles were more like tagliatelli. Maybe it was just what i chose but not as good as some i have been to
Good food and service at very good prices. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Very good Thai restaurant with fair prices located in Lark Lane, a street full of restaurants. The lunch menu served until 4 pm is a cheaper option. In this menu, you can choose between one or two small dishes and a main course (not the entire menu, but just some selected dishes).
I was recommended to come here from friends. Food was nice, price is reasonable, service from the staff who took are order was fine. Decor of the place was lovely. We booked a table and arrived 10 minutes late so sat upstairs, there was a party but they left and no one else apart from us upstairs so there was no atmosphere in this part of the restaurant.
Authentic and tasty food. Unusual dishes and the must perfect sticky rice. Really lovely interior, the outside doesnt do it justice.
Nice place, good food, fast service, clean friendly staff. A good place to go for couples and groups.
Outstanding food and super friendly service. Really lovely place I that I would recommend to others.
Excellent all round. Lovely friendly service, excellent food and portion sizes. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommended.
Had supper here tonight. A party of 5. Great atmosphere. A very welcoming and smart restaurant. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. The steamed sea bass with ginger is particularly delicious. We will be back.
Loved the food. I think its the best Thai in town.
Nice place, managed to squeeze three of us in on a Saturday night when we didnt have a reservation. Will be back next time we are in Liverpool.
Lovely interior decoration, friendly service and tasty food. I would highly recommend the Saturday lunch time special offer as its great value.
Fantastic food, good service....we took our friends this time as we loved it so much on our first visit.
Atmosphere is a bit stiff for a Thai restaurant and food not very authentic. More for a western palate.
Good food but staff are a bit frosty
Over priced, mediocre place with mediocre food. Ive made better myself! Wont be returning. Must say though, staff are friendly enough.
Nice place, nice food but bit pricey for what it is.Shear number of deliveroo drivers coming in and out spoilt any coziness but shows popularity.
Very good food, love the chilling banana sweat well worth trying very friendly
Nice size warm and welcoming restaurant with cheerful staff and good affordable food,I shall definitely come here often.
One of the few restaurants on Lark Lane to have stood the test of time, Chilli Banana is an excellent Thai restaurant serving a large selection of delicious food. I cant comments on how authentic is it, but Ive always enjoyed what Ive eaten there, and the restaurants enduring popularity - its always busy in there - is a testament to the quality of the food and service.
Great place but we paid a bit much for a modest amount of food. Great flavours and done to perfection, mind. Service was great too!
Great beef massaman, however the mixed starter plate was dissapointing. Quite expensive and service a little slow at times
Beautiful restaurant, fantastic food and a great location. The restaurant even has online ordering for collection!
Ah, Chilli Banana! Lark Lane staple and an absolute must when in Liverpool. The name is a bit weird, yes, but dont let that fool you... Chilli Banana does absolutely gorgeous, authentic tasting, Thai food. The staff are always friendly and very helpful, absolutely no problems there. The food: well, Ive been here so many times now (both to dine in and to take awaythat I wont go through each and every dish. Let me just say: not one has ever let me down. From the Pad Thai and the Massaman Curry to the Laad Naa and the Pad Kimow, everything lives up to and then exceeds expectations. The place is always busy but never too busy as to be off-putting and there is a always a nice atmosphere in here.Try the Chilli Banana dessert - its what the place is named for, after all! Very unique. When it comes to drinks there is, of course, Thai beer to go with the food which is great as Im sure youre aware. There is a delicious green tea on offer here also which Im a big fan of at the end of the meal.Ive heard one or two people say that the food in this restaurant is a little too sweet. That is the nature of a lot of Thai dishes, however. Palm sugar is a major ingredient in a lot of food in Thailand and Chilli Banana makes every effort to be as spot-on as possible.Overall, this is an absolutely stunning Thai restaurant. The food is gorgeous and extremely authentic. I cant recommend this place enough, its an essential in Liverpool.
Ive had great meals, not so great meals, and pretty poor meals here, which is a shame because its put me off a bit. When its good, its fab, but weve had experiences of cold food, very slow service, and a bit of attitude from staff when weve felt the need to complain. Id go back, but mid week of an evening when its likely to be quieter as there never seem to be enough staff on a friday/Saturday night.
Having originally given Chilli Banana a 4* rating after my first visit (due to the price rather then the food), having now been four times I am upgrading my rating to 5*. Every meal I have had there has been between very good and outstanding, and the prices are not really any higher than other establishments in the area. One of my favourite restaurants in the Liverpool area.
