Mexican staples like tacos & fajitas with American offerings in relaxed digs with a patio.
Julianne is really good server as she check on us constantly making sure we have our cups fill and making sure our kids are all taken care of. Thanks Jules
Jules was our waitress at the foothills location and she was very attentive, friendly and had amazing recommendations for drinks!
The food was delicious! But several of our orders were messed up. And we had to repeatedly ask for condiments.
Green chili Huevos Rancheros for breakfast! Oh yeah!It was busy but we had excellent service! 👌 (take a sweater, a little nippy for some of us 😃 )
Nice atmosphere and good food. Enjoyed the taco plate and a margarita. Andrew, our server, is a hard worker and polite. With so many Mexican restaurants in Las Cruces, I wouldnt recommend this as a must, but definitely worth the time if you have it.
Jules was amazing !!Made our dining experience memorable as she described as being just like her abuelas cooking from El PasoAnd she was right! Food was delish
Great food great service!Joseph takes real good care of us!
Great atmosphere, fantastic food. Service was excellent ask for Joseph he was awesome!!
Had a great time at Taco Tuesday with a big group of people. Our server Joseph was wonderful and did a great job taking care of us.
Been a loyal customer. My wife and me went in for supper. Sad to have had a bad experience. This is the third time I a row that we have been there and hostess has wanted to sit us in the front of the restaurant. Basically in the hallway. All three times I have had to argue with them that I we prefer to sit somewhere else. The first two time we were accommodated with some argument. This last time, we were the only customers in the restaurant and the hostess would not let us sit in the back were we wanted to sit. She said because of the servers rotation. We argued but she said we couldn’t sit in the back. After I told her we were leaving she then said we could sit where we wanted. By then I lost my appetite.Sorry to say I won’t be back. The food is very good but I don’t need to argue with the hostess every time I go there. Plenty of other restaurants in town.
Cold food! I had green chili enchiladas, the corn tortillas were raw gritty and un prepared and the plate was cold this was second time in a row this happened. Find a new cook or figure out how to not serve cold food to customers! I remember when customer service really meant something.
The carne asada burrito was awesome it didnt have your typical skirt steak or whatever most places use this was real quality steak and it tasted as such I didnt have them put the cilantro and onions on the inside but I had them add there queso inside of it and it was freaking awesome! our waiter Joseph was off the hook very attentive very friendly very knowledgeable about the menu took care of all my petty requests such as lime in my tea and the queso inside my burrito instead of being smothered he made the whole eating experience much much better!
Waitress forgot the queso we ordered and brought it after we got our entree. We only got 5 chips with the queso so I asked for more and they charged us for the extra chips. Food was just OK. Bad service was only checked on once.
The food is amazing. The service is great unless you get Joseph and then you get bumped up the amazing. I would suggest the chicken chimichanga with queso cheese on top.
Very delicious food. My wife and I dine in today during lunch time. We both got smothered burritos. Our server Yasmíne welcomed us with a smile and with good service. I recommend this place.
Joseph is a fabulous server! Great sense of humor and excellent service. We love the food and atmosphere at Chilitoes.
Come here often and have never been disappointed. Food is great and the staff is friendly as can be. Love love love the patio. Shout out to Joules for her great service.
Upon reading reviews I was in complete shock! The low rated come from lousy reviewers I’ll say that much! This chillitos is amazing. Beautifully decorated, Friendly staff, delicious authentic Mexican food and the drinks were superb. My husband and I ordered the tacos de asada plate, recommended by our server Jasmin, and sure enough they were heavenly! Jasmin, did an amazing good as well. She was on top of everything and so polite. We will now recommend HER for new comers to chillitos 😅. Overall we were beyond impressed! chillitos will now have a new couple regulars. Good job 👏🏼(If you’re looking for a good HONEST review you found it)
Our server Jules was awesome. The food and drinks are super good. I had the Chili Rellanos and they were superb. @Chilitos
My son a ND I went to eat dinner. It didnt take long to get our order but we dont get any chips or salsa I had to ask the waiter. No one came around to see how we were doing... We needed more drinks but no one came until were almost done. I asked for another drink for me and my son . They only bought one drink. The Chilitos on South main is way better even the salsa tastes better..
Food was very good and our server was a 5 Star treat. She did very well even though it was obvious the location is operating short handed. As we return to normal dining volume in restaurants the challenge is real, and the rewards will come. Work hard, keep the faith...success happens!
Been going to Chilitos for years and its been pretty good, last night was a huge disappointment. Chips were stale and hard, salsa was good though, got a replacement batch which were a little better and finished them before our drink order was even taken. Drink order took 15 minutes after that. Food took longer than normal even though there were more empty tables than occupied ones. Food was pretty good as usual and tried their sopapillas which were really good. Maybe last night was an off-night but we wont be back for awhile. Server seemed to disappear for long periods of time, we had to ask another server to track her down to get our bill.
Ate there during a recent visit to Las Cruces. Have also dined there on prior occasions over the past 20 years. As per usual, the service was great, except that they appeared to be short staffed like most restaurants. The salsa is excellent, as is the red chile. The servings are ample, and everything on my enchilada plate was very good. Washed everything down with a cold beer, which made the experience all the better. Nice atmosphere, great service and great New Mexican food. Highly recommended!
Love this restaurant. Recently ate here , had quick service over the weekend. Food came out great in a very quick manner. Will be returning here frequently!
I only wish the fry’s were cooked softer and the collie was a little bit hotter. The flavor was on point and the steak was cooked perfectly. The service was great and friendly
Second time Ive ordered delivery and the sauce had spilled out of the containers because the employees dont know how to bag properly.
My huevos rancheros were cold and tasteless. Big servings sizes for every other plate we ordered but not worth the price tag in taste
Enjoyed it with my daughter that treated me! Meal was very delicious waiter was awesome !!! DEFINITELY WILL GO BACK!!!
Food was about expected from any Mexican place. Got carne asada tacos and did enjoy them. The margaritas were pretty terrible. It was a full glass of water with a hint of tequila and the squeeze of lime I put in. Just stick to the food. They also charge for extra chips n salsa which werent all that great either.
Salsa was good but I got me a smothered burrito and I really didnt like the way the carne asada was cooked.
Delicious chips and salsa! Everything Ive had there has been tasty so far...even as simple as the quesadilla
Good Food 😀 Yum FajitasThey have a Bar 😁 getting thirsty?
Was expecting good authentic Mexican food while visiting in Las Cruces. It was the worst. 3 Tortillas were tiny and if you need more (and you willthere is an up charge.Chicken and beef were brought out very burnt and I couldnt get it off the sizzling platter as I was not given a plate which added to my frustration.Side order of guacamole was good but is not served with chips and there is a charge for chips if you want them.Service was very slow and we waited a long time for our check after our waitress removed the empty dishes. Just a bad experience and we will not go back.
Just took my wife, son, and sons friend here for lunch on a Friday and to be honest... I was impressed. (My job requires me to be schedule orientated so I cant help but track info like that... but it can be helpful lolTook about 2 mins after sitting down to get menus, another 2-3 mins to get drinks and to put in our orders, and just shy of 15 mins to get all of our orders. Id say thats pretty damn good for lunch on a Friday. Food was amazing (get the chimichangas, your welcomeand reasonably priced. Also the service was exactly what you would hope for on a time crunched lunch date with the wife. We are for sure coming back and Id highly suggest you give it a go. I also like to support locally owned businesses when possible, so win win.
Had #3 combo plate with chicken enchilada chili relleno and ground beef taco with red chili sauce. Kinda needed a break from green chili and found their red to be a bright flavor . Most are overwhelming in use of cumin and this wasnt. Will definitely try the red in other dishes.
Always a great place to eat at however this visit it had closed an hour before advertised time. We actually went in, stood there waiting for service, while the kitchen staff were cleaning. After a minute or so, I whistled to get someones attention. They said technical problems closed the establishment. Why the door was open we dont know. This was the only time we had any problems.
The food and service last night was excellent! I also have to mention that the staff operated as a team, helping each other out and interacting with each other and the customers with smiles on their faces! Highly recommend Chilitos!
Another must hit when we visit. The flavors are wonderful and we left stuffed! We grazed in their chips and salsa and ordered some guacamole. Their salsa has the best flavor--its absolutely addicting. And the guac was smooth and delicious with some lettuce chunks and fresh white onion strings if you wanted a little texture. My son and I get their sopapilla compuesta (Christmas). That meal is huge! And the meat just melts in your mouth. My wife goes for their green enchiladas (stacked). She had to also get sour cream because their green was a little hot for her. Still tasty and she still loves it. My in-laws go for their red enchiladas (stackedwith an egg on top. They like them here the best in the valley. And, of course, you have to finish the meal with an order of sopapillas (cinnamon sugar or plain). Absolutely delicious!
Always a fiasco every time we try to eat here, and it just continues to get worse and worse. The service is lousy. The staff is horrible!! They ignore you and would rather argue with you than try to correct their mistakes. The fries are always old and cold, or raw and crunchy. The food is dry and tasteless across the board. I would NOT recommend wasting your money here. The food is way over priced for the quality of service and food you get. There are several other places in town that offer better food, service, and prices. They have also started decreasing the portion sizes and increased their prices. $20 for two orders of french fries with queso is highway robbery.
Ordered the shredded beef folded tacos. The taco shells were so hard my jaw was hurting. Than the shredded beef was so dry it was like sand paper as well as not being seasoned. The beans have no flavor and the rice is sad. My daughters beef fajita burrito was also a huge disappointment. The beef was very over cooked and dry. It was mostly filled with burnt mushrooms, my daughter picked at it. Waste of money especially when I can go to del taco and get a loaded chicken burrito for $6. Compared to this place at $14. Never coming back!
Great Mexican food. I love the fresh tortilla chips, and they bring out extra salsa with the chips. Tacos were fantastic, homemade taco shells. Plus the view out on the deck was amazing.
The service here was great and the food was delicious! I ate on the patio which was a really cute set up and the weather was perfect so I really enjoyed my meal.
The food here is so good! Got a combo plate with a gordita, green chili enchilada, and ground beef taco. All were of the same great quality with superb flavors. The green chili enchilada was surprisingly spicy but delicious! Gordita was the favorite, though hands down!
Extremely frustrating. Came here with my family for lunch around 1:00 on Friday August 20th our server was Clarissa. Ordered nachos with no meat as I am…or was before this experience vegetarian it wasn’t until I was a few bites in that I realized there was ground beef under the beans on these nachos. My family ordered ground beef tacos and were given some sort of mystery meat tacos looked like chicken or maybe pork? We asked our waitress for some ground beef tacos and she said she’d get them. 30 minutes went by and no tacos. she completely forgot about them. When she returned with the check I asked if the tacos were done so we could take them home. She replied with “oh you guys wanted that side of tacos?” No we did not want a side of tacos we wanted a replacement for the mystery meat tacos we were given. This place has gone downhill terrible customer service will not be returning.
Love eating here, make a point to have lunch or supper everything I come to Las Cruces. Excellent service!
We ate twice in one week. They are pleasant and the food was consistent. Thank you we will be back.
Friendly staff, amazing (spicyqueso with green chiles, the chicken chimichanga was crispy and flavorful, the Carne asada taco plate was filling, and the chips were crisp!
Was in the mood for brunch, so ordered the chicken fried steak skillet with green chile gravy. Superb! And the service was great...
Food was pretty fresh, we sampled a handful of plates and our waiter was very helpful. Nice choice between indoor and outdoor seating. Lost a star for a couple reasons tho, one is the salsa is filled into old Corona beer bottles which isnt really a good vibe, especially for families and kids, and second, the deep fried icecream was breaded with rice crispies. Although it was our first time trying deep fried icecream so I dont exactly know what its supposed to be like, but this one just seemed on the low end.
My favorite restaurant in Las Cruces. My family an i are always here! Looking for some great Mexican food come here the food is so delicious.! They even have a patio if you like to eat out side.
