The little ones had a great time. They have a really neat water play area so dont forget you can pack swimsuits and water shoes so the kids can have even more fun. Its a full day of entertainment for toddlers and up.

Before you go here pack extra clothesBefore you go here pack towelsFun place, and the kids loved the water play area, but because they dont have blowers, you have to place faith that the smocks they offer will keep them dry, Not a big deal if you prep, but we didnt know. Loved the garage area as well.

My 3 year old and 1 year old had a blast! This place “gets” kids. There’s not too much going on and it’s just the right size. My 3 year old is sensitive and gets overwhelmed easily and he was very comfortable here. We went on a weekday and it wasn’t crowded.

Our 3yo absolutely enjoyed her day at the Childrens Museum! When leaving and walking to the car in the parking lot, she was already asking when we would come back. Her favorites were the Daniel Tiger exhibit and the water-play area. 😊

Very fun for our toddler. She loves every room and had a blast running around and playing with the toys and interactive stations. Slightly more expensive than other places but it was worth it.

We are members and Andrew, at the front desk, was so nice to tell us about the Daniel Tiger Meet & Greet that took place today (Wedat 12 PM. He gave us tickets too and my 4 year old son loved it. We are members at the Carnegie museums too and they are very good and different but for this age group, the Children’s Museum is where we go the most. They have so many toys and mechanism designed for kids 8 and under and our son loves it there. And customer service has been outstanding every single time. However, Andrew, today definitely went the extra mile and was so patient and helpful. Thank you Andrew for an outstanding visit!

Incredible museum for all age groups (toddler & up). Each unique room is endless fun. & museum employees are stationed in each area to assist the kids with learning and play. Kids couldn’t get enough.$7 for parking right in front of the museum.

Great hands on fun for all ages. My daughter has enjoyed the childrens museum all the way up to this past month when I took her with a friend at the age of 13! It was still fun for them to explore! I also greatly appreciate the discounted rates for those who are low-income.

This place is incredible! Super hi-tech and very well maintained. I love taking my kids to a place where they are in control of the outing. Kids are very underserved in their communities so I applaud the people who prioritize our youth. I don’t live in Pittsburg so I unfortunately may never be back but I’ll cherish the memories of this place!

Thank you for keeping the mask mandate until there is a vaccine for the under 5 kiddos. Our son is too young to wear a mask and too young for a vaccine so your mandate is keeping him safe. This is a gem in Pittsburgh and we purchased our membership out of sincere appreciation for you mask policy. Please, please keep masks until the vaccine is available for ages 2+ !

Why the masks???? Im sure every one of your employees and guests shop, vacation, eat at restaurants without one! The harassment received by your " security" for little ones not wearing masks " properly" is ridiculous!I let my years long membership lapse, due to your online "tickets" and masking policies.Guests beware... What used to be a wonderful place to take children is no longer worth the hoops you have to jump thru!Grandma of 5.

The museum itself was great. But to tell you about my complete experience it started off absolutely terrible. This was the first time I had went to the museum. Im not familiar with the area at all, and if you have to use the GPS to go there it will take you to a parking lot thats private youre not allowed to park there. I had to call and ask an employee how to get there. For being a mom with kids in the backseat not knowing where Im going or being familiar with the area it was just extremely frustrating especially when I pulled out of the private parking area and was able to see the museum. But the lady neglected to tell me that its literally one way I had to drive around a ginormous circle to get to the parking lot. So before I even walked into the place I was already extremely frustrated. I went in and it was easy to show my reservation and get checked in. And the gentleman did give us a rundown of the place but for people that have never been there before its kind of hard to just remember everything off the top of your head we werent offered like a map or a pamphlet, I could not even see a map inside the place. So when you look around and you see multiple different directions you could go its very overwhelming. But we have the time we were there for some fun and we did get to check out most of the place and was very satisfied with everything except the cafeteria. I literally get it, everythings overpriced anymore but to charge someone 850 for a small slice of pizzas robbery Im literally dumbfounded that they charge $8.50 for a small slice of cheese pizza. $9.50 if you want pepperoni.I did Skip eating and had my children share meal. Its really a shame you cant do anything with your children without spending an arm and a leg.

This was a good experience for our family. ( 2 adults, 7 y.o, 4 y.oparking was reasonable 6 bucks for the trip. This museum is very hands on for the kids and involved parents. The water area is not recommended if you dont have a change of clothes or its a warm day where the kids can step outside and dry up.Near the end of the trip we stop in the cafe. The food was mostly good except for that veggie tots. They were far too sweet and none of my family liked them. The pizza & the egg white turkey was outstanding.I read the reviews since we are from out of town. The other reviewers complaining about the mask policy seem to be overreacting. It was a good time and I would recommend this place if you have little ones.

Nice place but a little pricey for what you get, and other than a rotating exhibit in one room its pretty much always the same. Our kids had fun.Unfortunately we bought a membership and every time we try to "reserve" tickets this place is "sold out" so basically our "membership" is worthless. Recommendation: worth going once & dont be duped into purchasing a membership unless you plan on going on weekdays only.

I used to enjoy taking my children there so I decided to bring my great niece n son. My son is 14 so I knew he wouldnt care for a lot there but figured he would enjoy making memories with his cousins. Sadly we didnt even make it to the 2nd or 3rd floor. Everytime my son just touch his face not even mask security was there standing over him saying to wear it properly or go out side to breath. He has asthma dude. We did wear them and never gave the a problem anytime but they followed us everywhere we went. Like sitting on top of us watching every move. We drove a hour each way to be there maybe 25 mins. We arent even anti maskers and we know how to follow directions. I was looking forward to making new memories and your employees ruined it for our family😢

Okay. So we have been to a few, by far the best yet. Blocks Trains, Cars, Magnets, Forts. This really is a well thought out place for kids. Safety is top notch. Security at the main entrance and patrolling the grounds. The staff was kind and helpful. THEY EVEN HAVE A SYSTEM FOR LOST CHILDREN. THEY ALL KNOW THE PARENTS NUMBER ARE ON THE WRIST. **** A little warning on the water play section. Your child will need a swim suit or a change of outfit, they will be soaked. Water shoes. Towel.

The experience at this museum was wonderful. There are so many little projects and activities for the kiddies! My son enjoyed this place thoroughly, he most enjoyed the nursery area as he’s very active and hands on. We spent a couple hours there and it went by so quickly!! Truly wonderful experience and great change of pace. Nice play to visit during the colder months!!

I was extremely impressed with the kindness of the staff. As soon as we got there, my 12-month old daughter lost her footing and hit her face (no fault of the establishment, she is still new at walking). She was bleeding and extremely upset. Teressa was the nearest staff member and immediately came to help. She brought us paper towels and some ice and spoke to my daughter in a very calm and reassuring voice, then engaged her in more play. We continued on to have a phenomenal time. Teressa rotated stations and saw us a few more times throughout the day, each time stopping to address my daughter by name and play some more. All of the staff was wonderful that day, but Teressa especially deserves recognition for going above and beyond for us. Thank you!

What a fun time we had! I am a nanny of twin 15 month old girls and we were able to spend an hour or so in the museum exploring! Definitely would have spent more time if I had someone with me to help out haha. Can’t wait to go back and actually explore more of the attractions.

2nd trip here was not very enjoyable. My 3 yr old wanted out of here as a little over two hrs in a mask reduced any desire to stay longer. My 6 & 9 yr old only lasted that long as well. My daughter didnt enjoy being told to keep pulling her mask above her nose while she worked on art. I felt like the workers only job was to tell people to keep the mask above their nose. Our Dr visits arent even this legalistic. My 3 yr old and I went to the cafeteria 3 times just so he could take a mask break. A 3 yr old, come on. Yes I knew the policy going in but I didnt realize it was so legalistic. Places have policies but this seemed unreasonably strict.

This is a great Museum. Weve been here a few times since moving to pgh back in June. We are now annual pass-holders.They have a comprehensive approach to supporting the STEAM subjects and providing hands on activities for ages baby through teen. The new Museum Lab next store for older kids is a great new addition to the campus. I look forward to exploring it more. Theres a cafe in the main building as well. Parking is $4 in the museum lot.We recommend this place for anyone with kids.

The Childrens Museum of Pittsburgh is a great place to bring young kids. We have been members for over three years for our girls who are now 3 and 5. We love the art studio and it is usually our first stop so whatever we create has time to dry. Lately we have been enjoying the Eric Carle exhibit and will be sad to see it go. We also love attending character meet and greets such as Daniel Tiger and Curious George. The water room is also a fun floor if we remember swim suits or a change ofclothes!

Excellent for young kids. Id say ages 2-7 would get the most out of it...Theres a whole floor (2nd)for babies and toddlers though which is great but gets cramped if its busy. The first floor and 3rd floor are the best for school aged kids. A nice water play area on the 3rd floor and some slides, art room and more interactive things on the first. We killed about 2 hours easy here with a 6&7 year old then went outside and found a misting area that is not part of the childrens museum but it was fun for a humid day. Dont forget its within walking distance of the aviary and my favorite, Randy land so be sure to check out both of those if you can. Randy land is free, aviary is not. Food isnt anything special. Do yourself a favor and go to the federal galley where theres a decent amount of variety for food that is better than basically cafeteria good at the childrens museum. About a 5 minute walk!

What a great place. Ive been to a handful of childrens museums, but this has got to be one of the best, most interactive ones Ive been to. The amount of stuff to do was amazing and almost perfectly paced to take up a whole, single day. With a variety of stations, from painting to magnets to slides to water toys, there is a ton of stuff for kids of many ages. Even I had a really fun time with a lot of it.There is also a ton of Jim Henson and Mr. Rogers memorabilia which is really neat for the older folks who actually remember them.Well done. Please check it out.

Such an amazing place each and everytime we come to visit. From screen printing and painting to the Mister Roger puppets and water play. There is always a new exhibit to explore. The staff is always courteous and helpful, usually they are having just as much fun as the kids. The only downside is... It becomes real busy real quick. But there is a tool on their web page that lets you know how busy it will be. Once those busses start dropping off classes of kids, its gets crazy.

A very good place for 2-3 year olds and up. Some of the play sets and exhibitions overlap with Carnegie Science center. If you have a membership, and goes regularly, it is definitely worth the price.
