Was disappointed with the quality of the exhibits. My 3 year old enjoyed but didn’t learn much. Moreover the climbing challenges were way too simple.

My boys loved it! Even though my older son got bored (I dont know why cuz there was so much to see and play with!), he started playing bowling using the foam blocks and plastic oranges. When we got to the 3rd floor, he tried everything and especially loved playing with the car tracks that you can rearrange to make new routes. My younger son spent at least 30 mins inside the fire truck! I love that the museum is so hands on. Everything was kid friendly. Even the restrooms have a space for moms to feed their babies.

My 4 y.o. son had fun in this museum. There are a few activities and a bunch of things to play with. The reason for 3 stars: it is very small, not enough space for kids. I recommend going to the Brooklyn Children’s museum if you have the time. It is much bigger, plenty of space for kids to play and have fun.

Museum is divided in 4 floors which makes it easy to access each section individually. You can spend 20-30 minutes on each floor. Two separate toddler only sections which is great. We did not find the museum very educational but the kids loved it and want to go back.

Museum consists of mostly dull objects, somewhat grungy, nothing exciting or particularly stimulating or inventive, the usual pushing / grabbing issues with parental apathy and no staff intervention. It’s essentially just a space rented out to space-constrained apt dwellers as a playroom. With a highly commercial first floor store selling toys available on Amazon. Very disappointing.

The little one had a ball, especially on the lower level, 2nd & 3rd fl. It was so much space to run around, the staff is very friendly & hands on with their activities

Its in NYC do not expect this to be huge, and yet they make great use out of the space they have. There are 4.5 floors including the lower level and water area and minus the administrative offices. Each floor has a central area and theme. There is a water works area outside, grocery store, bus and fire truck, sand and truck area, art area, vet area, toy subway cars, music area among others. Our library has museum passes to the museum so it is a wonderful way to spend a few hours. There is street parking outside or a paid lot across the street. Will be visiting often I think.

It was ok. We got in free with a pass and Im glad. If I wouldve paid full price i would give it 1 star because it just wasnt worth it. 2 floors were closed and most of the space is for small babies. My daughter is almost 4 and she had a good experience but when I asked if she wanted to come back she said no.FYI the childrens museum in Brooklyn is way better.

It is a bit pricey considering childrens attention span is short. We had a corporate pass so it was free, but if we didnt cant say it would be a great value. It is awesome experience to your child discover new things, but for the price wish you could stay the whole day but back to the attention span! It is great for a couple of hours.

this place is really cool for kids under 9 (in my opinion. weve gone a few times and my kids absolutely love it. I havent experienced it being "full". We almost always have more than enough space on every floor to play without incident. The staff is patient and they have art activities everyday. 1030am - 12:30pm & 1:30 - 3:30pm . We will be back again and again. The water area is pretty cool but if parents arent paying attention to their kids little arguments about the fishing rods, play fish, or blocks is guaranteed.

very fun attractions for the kids, interactive, interesting and colorful; very good and safe learning and playing environment. i can say the little one had a lot of fun.only problem is that last time i went the AC wasnt working in all floors except 3, so it was quite uncomfortable in the way up and when we got there it was incredibly crowded. hope they fix that.

Really fun place for kids. We had a great time. They have 3 floors with different activities according to the age. The lower level Dynamic H2O area was the best one & the 3rd floor sand area. They also gave some activity to kids animal mystery box. Staff was very friendly and supportive. Highly recommend to visit.

Went with my niece and nephew and they absolutely LOVED it! So many different things to do and so many ways to engage in play and creativity! Also, the staff was very dedicated. On the day we went, there was a problem with the AC on two floors, and the staff worked hard to make sure portable AC units were put out so that guests would be as cool as possible (and it was a HOT day!). Ill definitely take the kids back when they come to town again!

Nice in door AC location for the kids on a summer day. Only thing is that you cant bring in your stroller, it has to be parked up front. So if you have a little one, you have to carry him/her the whole time.

Its a really great place to take kids in. It is very entertaining and it offers plenty of games according to the age of the child. I wish there were more places like that in the city, especially uptown! The staff was friendly and helpful as well as ppl visiting seemed mindful. I wouldve given "5🌟" but quite a few things, building related issues, seemed outdated and couldve used cleaning and "facelift". however, I still totally recommend visiting the museum 👍🏼

This was my first visit to the museum and I found it a bit lackluster. The place felt a bit worn and in need of new exhibits, fresh coat of paint and flooring. It all just looked a bit tired from my perspective. My three year old did enjoy running around, he touched everything and ran from floor to floor. My favorite section and his too was the fire truck and grocery area. I don’t think that I would take him back as going to a local park is a bit more fun. I hope that they’re able to renovate one day.

There are free tickets available if you get a culture pass which is available free with your library card in New York. A really fun place for children under the age of 6. 6 is the cut off age for all of the play area things. Its a great place to go with other mom friends or if you wanted to hang out for the day with the little one.

We took my 3 year old nephew here on a Wednesday morning. He loved it there. There are a few floors to go to for different activities. It might depend on the age and personality the child your bringing will get into and enjoy. My nephew really liked the trains and race track in the basement level. He didnt move from that corner of the room.Everyone wore masks, as children under 5 years old still are not eligible to get vaccinated and not everyone wants their children vaccinated. The kids and adults were really good at keeping their masks up. The staff is really nice and helpful. The adults who were their for their children enjoyed seeing them run around interact with their surroundings and with other kids. It was a really nice way to get started on Wednesday.

We absolutely loved this place! And so did our 15-month-old son! Staff was super friendly and so many interesting and fun play areas! They even have art rooms for older kids. It is 5 floors although one floor is for offices (but so many attractions in one place). You can pay per visit or buy a membership - only $250 per year for a family of two adults and up to four children for UNLIMITED access!! You cant beat that price, and knowing it is going towards supporting such an amazing institution? If you have kids and live in manhattan, its a no-brainer. Think of the cold winter months or rainy days. What an amazing option. Needless to say, we will be purchasing the membership. Its even a tax write off because it is considered a charity! And it is nestled on a beautiful street on the UWS with tons of cozy restaurants in the area. What an awesome day and pics to prove it :))

Good place to play. I like especially WATER ATTRACTION in summer time with waterfalls, rivers, sprinklers, little boats and fishes kids can shoot down the river or fish it out. There are even water protective coats provided and the ground is padded so kids can run barefooted. Kinetic sand station is on the second level outside as well.Floors designed to an appropriate age level, but are fun for all ages kids. We like especially 3rd floor with vocabulary Dino, different activities station, painting messy on walls installation, fire truck, "grocery shopping" department, babies soft play station with soft blocks, balls, music maker little library. Theres also a quiet nich, good for breastfeeding or just resting.First floor this 2019 year has a 3D printers and markers with which kids can explore amazing last day technologies, also filled with different activity stations.Lower lever still has our beloved dancing floor with dress-up closet. They change floor exhibitions on 1st and LL levels every once in while. But 3rd, 2nd and 4th floors stayed the same for the past 3 years.Prices for the tickets are $15 a person, doesnt matter child or adult. Kids after 1yo must be paid for. Comes down a bit pricey, if visit it often, so good to take a MEMBERSHIP ($200+ for a year). Also there culture pass that offers free entrance for up to 5 people or library culture pass for only one visit with up to 5 people.Update, December 2021: MANDATES FOR VACCINATING KIDS 5+. If you are a member and don’t want to vaccinate your child you cannot enter, but won’t be refunded either.

We visited the museum last Thursday. I didn’t factor in the flooding from the heavy storm we got from hurricane Ida. It was a trek to get there and I also forgot my vaccination cards. It took me a while to get a picture of them but I must say Susan was very patient and helpful. She also allowed us to come back for the following 2 hour session since we lost so much time. Thank you Susan!!I visit the museum at least once a year, since my sister who is 22 was a toddler. My kids loved coming here and my youngest is now 14 and stillEnjoys it. I enjoy it as well and now we bring my kids little brother to the CMOM. He can’t wait to return. He loved the water area.Hope to visit again before the water area closes.

Personally, I think this is a good place to take a child ages 3 to 6. I brought my 4 year old nephew and he enjoyed himself. However, when I asked him if he wanted me to bring him again he said "no thank you" lol.Generally, you have to order your tickets online. There tickets consist of two hours sessions, after your time is up everyone exits and the museum closes one hour to clean. No food is allowed or sold there, but you can bring water. There are four floors where a child can interact. The bathroom is on the basement level. On the first floor, where you enter, there is an arts and craft location, as well as the museum store. One floor had a superhero theme, another was dedicated to Dora and Diego the Explorers, another had a slide, some cars like a firetruck and bus, and some had musical instraments. There were a few touch screen computer, puzzles, games, and balls, etc. along the way.

This place is amazing. I went today for the very first time and my toddler had such an incredible time. There are 4 different floors, each with unique and age-tailored activities suitable for any child 8 and under. The prime age group is likely 2 to 4, but older kids can have fun too

There’s so much to do here! They have 5 full floors of fun, interactive, and educational play areas for the kids. There is also an outdoor water place space. If you have a public library card, you can get free passes through the cultural pass via the library website. We came at 10am, stayed all day, walked to get lunch (there for 20 places within a 5 minute walk), and came back to play until 3pm. It was a great day, the kids had fun, and wore themselves out that they were asleep by 7pm!!! Yeah!!! Winner all around.

Easy to get to museum in Manhattan. It was down the street from our hotel next to the Beacon Theater. Our son loved it. We came back again for a second visit. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It gets very busy during the weekend so we came back during a weekday so that he could have more time with some of the exhibits. Not all the exhibits have all the parts necessary for the kids to play with. They need to fix some pieces but generally its a decent Childrens Museum.

Kiwi view: this is a combination of indoor play centre and minimalist museum. There museum bit is a token effort. If the kids are getting bored with the MOMA or The Met then balance it out with a visit to this place. It is for younger kids day six and under and thats generally the crowd here. Expect a lot of American kids with 30 second attention spans and limited social skills on patience and sharing and you will be OK. Let kids be kids here and as long as you get it injury and germ free you will be OK. Had some REALLY good play and learning things and the workshops can be good too. The best but is a child size replica of the Presidents desk in the oval office

The 6 year old I brought here so far loves it. I know my 2 and 4 year olds would love it. They have a variety of activities going around at certain times like hand painting, paper activities and working with magnets and gears. They have a lot of play sections at this museum such as a supermarket store, baby section with cubes, book reading, slides, stuffed animal toys toys, sand box section, and you learn about every section. So much more going around. The only reason why I didnt rate it a 5 star is because this museum needs to add more toys. There are missing pieces, broken pieces and overall it could be improved.
