Big place fir children to lean and get a good idea

We tried to visit on 29 and 30 November but it was closed both days, even though Google maps said it was open both days.

Really nice place only issue is you have to walk a long distance to the bathroom

The Omani Child Museum is a scientific museum; it is off Sultan Qaboos Street, near Qurum Natural Park. The Ministry of Heritage and Culture was responsible for the museums establishment, on seventeenth of November 1990, first opened its doors.It is about the two white domes, which are emblematic of urban setting in muscat and attract visitors and travelers driving by on the road. Its aim is to use digital displays to explain contemporary technology and innovation for the next gen. The Oman Childrens Museum is a childrens science museum in Muscat, Oman, in a white-domed building near Qurum Nature Park off Sultan Qaboos Street. The museum was established by the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture and opened on November 17, 1990, during Omans 20th National Day celebrations, by Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said. The 10,000-square-foot museum features 45 displays and two presentations (930 m2). It was Omans first science museum, and it attracts about 50,000 visitors per year. The Childrens Museum is an Omani museum that opened on Rabi al-Akhir 25, 1411 AH, or November 14, 1990AD, as part of the Sultanates glorious National Day celebrations, as a sublime honor from Qaboos bin Said, adding to the long list of honors bestowed upon the Omani child during this time. The museum is divided into two sections, each of which is shaped like a wide dome. The first dome houses the equipment and displays, while the second dome houses offices and other facilities.

Wonderful place for school going children to visit and know a few science phenomena that are not in their curriculum but would definitely contribute for the increase of their general knowledge. Children can try their hand on the apparatus available there and get hands on experience. There is a library too in the same campus. Nominal entry fee has to be paid at the museum reception.

its a very good place for kids to play and learn at the same time . but parents should be ready to answer some for the kids questionsoverall to one of the must place to visot in muscat

This is refreshing place for keep your children knowledge and ideas . Spacious and well maintained. Must visit place with kids.

Very good but limited working hours usually closes after 3 pm which I think it should extend its working hours to 6 pm

The place itself is very nice and a lot of fun for the whole family and very spacious for an indoor place.Its very long overdue for an upgrade and some additions because nothing has changed in it in years.

Is a good place to come at night because every night there is mishkak, the Omani Street foods. And there is a small Park where u can sit and enjoy mishkak. Enjoy...😇

A good museum for children of all ages. Its a lot about what you make of it. My 2yo loved just running around, my 4yo asks a few more questions.

Its a thpical science/ technical museum with interactive posts. Not everything works and is a bit old but the atmosphere is great and we spent much more time than we planned. Kids will love it. Warmly recommended

Lots of fun hands on activities for kids to do, cheap entry but only payable by card. A few exhibitions are broken but most working and interesting

Nice place for kids to get introduced to scientific concepts. I liked the staff hospitality and welcoming. Fees are very low. On the other side, i guess, the place needs more enhancement. Computer science, laser, chemistry, robots, electronics, and many other types of technology xould be introduced and enhanced to meet the rabid development of science and technology. Overall, well done for the sustainability.

The place needs some massive changes.. Most of the experiments there I remember them 20 years ago. Some of them needs massive turnaround.

This museum simplifies science and technology and presents them in an animated version, allowing visitors to see the vital role played by science in various aspects of life. The museum is headquartered in two large domes in Al Qurum area in Muscat Governorateand is visible from a long way. Although this museum is called the Childrens Museum, its exhibits are suitable for all ages and are presented in a simplified fashion to facilitate access to information for future generations.

Closed on holidays. Visited during national day holidays. But was closed. Lot of people came and returned back since it was not open.

Children even adult can get fun from some instrument of this museum, entrance fee should remove, and new scientific instrument should add. whatever we and my childrens got fun here,not bad actually.
