Chifte Hamam - Museum in Skopje, Macedonia
Chifte Hamam in Skopje
Description
Most beutiful Gallery and Historical Otman Cultural Heritage, Loce it!
nice venue
The museum is located in the Old Bazaar in Skopje, a place that should be a must see to everyone visiting the city.It holds temporary exhibitions and has one room thats has genuine artefacts from the time when the building was used as a Turkish bath. Other than finding amazing art there, it shields you from the excitement and business of the Bazaar streets, giving you at least 30 mins of peace and quiet. The building by itself is amazing, its much bigger than it looks on the outside.I would only wish there to be more permanent items, rather than only temporary exhibitions.
MoreAmazing and helpful staff)
Must visit place for history lovers. This museum have rich history and beautiful interior
More😍
I am very upset because of bad restoration. They says "it is art, but it isnt...
The art gallery we visited today was very beautiful and interesting.
I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak of the upcoming exhibit of Tanja Balać’s art work, and it’s absolutely worth the visit. Her work is exquisite. It’s also very cool to see an art gallery in a hammam. The people running the gallery are also very lovely. Make the time to visit this gallery. You won’t regret it.
MoreOne room was preserved and have genuine artefact. There rest was filled with poor "art".
MoreGood museum with many contemporary pieces of artwork. The collection here was a bit smaller than that of the Daut Pasha Hamam, and it took about 30min to go through the entire collection. There is a new exhibit which opened today, which is well worth a visit if you are an art enthusiast.
MoreIts a pretty good place to see interesting stuff
When we were at balkans tour. We had chance to visit there so i liked it. When you are gonna to macedonia, you can visit here. Because the next to the river is not real historical part of the uskup. The ottoman side is the real one. So you definitelly visit there to.
MoreBeautifully restored 15th century hammam now functions as national art museum, gallery, and event venue.
MoreVery nice and quiet place to relax
Great location, nice design and tasty food and pizza.
Old Ottoman bath houses contrasting with the modern architecture of Skopje. A nice contrast and worth a visit.
MoreGreat place.
This place is like a mini Bazar from Istanbul. Every person visiting Skopje shall pass the stone bridge and walk a tour in old Town. Great local cusines for ridiculous amount of money. Loads of nice bars and all sort of shops around.
MoreAmazing ottoman architecture,now gallery
Expensive and under average quality food. Nice atmosphere.
Its a public bath from ottoman, therefore Inside is very fresh today is national gallery, u can find always great exhibitions or concerts.
MoreVery cheap to get inside. Worth visiting if you are a fan of history.
Beautiful building, the exposed paintings are a mix of different styles. SO IT IS MAINLY THE DIGNITY of the place that catches you while visiting.
MoreGreat square and awesome night lights.
Very few artistic installations, not valuable at all. Only the building, an ancient Turkish Hammam, worth the price of entrance ticket
MoreGreat example of Ottoman architecture.. Please, improve the maintenance.
Amam was built in the second half of the 15th century
Nice to see and enjoy to shisha bar.
Wierd and wonderful. Lots of exciting optical illusions. Well worth a visit
One of the "must see places" in the Old Bazaar in Skopje. Used as a public bath in the past, this building serves now as an art gallery. You get to enjoy both the building and an exhibition at the same time.
MoreCharming artistic spot in the heart of the old town of Skopje
It was strange that the building was open but no one inside to control who is entering the museum. So we just look around from the door and left it.
MoreOne of the best places that I visit ever. I sugest every one of you to spend some time to visite this place. I garanty that you will be suprised of beaty that ofer this amazed place. Not any place ofer us such a good things for cheap prise. I hope that one day this market will be one of the best ppaces fot shoping and having fun with you and your family.
MorePerfect blend old and new. The restaurated hamam is now a gallery with good lighting and very special feeling of awe walking through the rooms. Whatever the exhibition, and there are so many good ones, it is definitely a place worth visiting.
MoreVery nice. Not many museums in skopje at all so you can visit all
Rud personel. Sign said that galery is open till 9 pm at 8 pm rud guy said that its closed.
MoreVery unique place... a historical bath
Built in the 15th century by general Isa-Beg Ishaković. Since 2001 the object is used for exhibitions as a part of the National institution "National gallery of Macedonia".
MoreGreat ambiance, ideal for exhibitions and presentations.
nice building from the outside...museum was closed :-(
Nice place to relax and think about the history of freedom of Macedonia.
Beautiful Hamam, i was amazed by the scale of this building. The staff of the museum was verry rude!
MoreIts historical and fun to visit too
Historical place, very old but in great condition, built in the Ottoman empire, Macedonia was 500 years under it...
MorePoor service. The smoking is allowed there. High prices.
very attractive place and near the old bazaar and many hotels around it I liked it very much
MoreNice place for art exhibition and performances. Part of the National Gallery of Macedonia (NGM). Very friendly personnel. Has no permanent exhibition but frequently changes pieces of art on display, check the NGM Internet page for announcements. Location excellent!
MoreCultural place. Just a monuments and remainder of the time that it was
Chifte Hamam was built by Issa Bey in the middle of 15th century and operated as a steam bath with separate rooms for women and men. It was also known as Double Hamam. Today is a National Art Gallery with permanent collection and exhibitions.
