Chicken Lounge in Allentown

The nachos are a must have. All the food was actually pretty good. No vegetarian options, but meat can be asked to not be added, but for the price, it is better to ask for the chicken on the side.

Went there for my birthday dinner with an amazing woman who knew about the place. I live in Phoenixville and didnt know the area, Ill take that drive anytime!!! It was AMAZING!!!! The clams and steak sandwich were fantastic!!!

My first time there and I’ve lived in the area for 7 years and never ate at the chicken lounge and let me tell u there wings are incredible great flavor make sure you get them crispy or extra crispy and there drafts beer cold I mean ice cold I was stunned Great place to go eat wow I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on these Amazing wings I’m definitely returning for those wings and ice cold draft , thank u chicken lounge for the great taste buds

Great place 2 go 4 a quick bite...the place has been open 4 many, many years & the food has been consistent... I can remember going there 40 yrs ago...great times... restaurant is set up w/ grill & kitchen in the center of a round bar...u can watch ur meals being prepared...cool place 2 go... reasonable prices...

The potato pancakes are amazing and will eat as much as I can and I order the wings they are so good this is the only place I eat wings from with the teriyaki sauce the chicken quesadilla and ribeye sandwiches are a must. excellent service the staff are always nice I usually call ahead and do a pickup order. thier schedule was 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. but I dont know if they change it with the restrictions being lifted as of April 4th.

Quirky bar with a lot of regular patrons. The owners know many by name and take the time to create a homey neighborhood feel. Great mixed drinks 🍸

The rude non caring service and over priced slightly under cooked food very unsatisfying. Lets hope corona ends soon for their sake because the bar was probably the only appealing thing about the place. Between the old dirty signage and dingy interior it was a very upsetting experience, I was expecting so much more.

This appears to be your basic bar. However, I have to say that the service was completely spot on - rapid, very friendly and very professional. And the food was reasonably priced and good. Will absolutely visit again!!

Superbowl weekend......had a need for some quality nachos when someone suggested the chicken lounge had a great recipe using DORITOS of all things...I had to investigate.The large size was 12.29 on the online menu and that sounded just right...the person on the other end of the line said "oh they are only one size now and thats 20.00, but you get alot"...shocked as i was to hear this massive discrepancy, I had already talked myself into ordering this appetizer that was supposedly fantastic...What I received for my 20 bills was a massive disappointment to say the least....a plate of Doritos for sure but the cheese was all on one side and whomever microwaved this mess decided to use a paper plate which was then cooked to the chips. The peppers and sour cream they included on the side were barely enough for a few bites. Now mind you ....this was twenty dollars WITHOUT MEAT OF ANY KIND....chicken is extra....lol...amazing.

First off i just wanna say I hate giving companies a bad review. It makes me made but I give it one star because they did refill our beers often. I want to start off by saying we were not going to order food. But I will explain some. I dont have enough room here to write it all down. Id love to speak to the owner of the place as being a business owner myself. So in an hour and a half we ordered 2 drinks and a chicken quesadilla. Being the chicken lounge I was kinda excited thinking they knew what they were doing with chicken... Wrong.... it a place decorated with chickens. After ordering the quesadilla. I watched them put packaged grilled chicken on the tortilla with lots of cheese and microwave it until melted. The plop it on the grill for 2 mins exactly. Watching more people working there being on there phones watching movies. The dishwasher boy and our waitress both were watching movies on there phones for atleast a solid hour. During enjoying a rather good beer. We watched them clean the microwaves and store rolls in them. One guy opens a plastic container of sour cream to transfer it into a metal container. Losing all of the shelf life on that. Seemed like more sour cream than they go through in the 2 days shelf life it has now acquired. They saud there was a water leak behind the bar... Not cleaned up just everyone stepping over it. The best was watching the older lady clean the grill that had soapy water filled trays under them. This bothered me. Knowing that the two grills they have the old water contanants. were poured into a bucket with a trash bag. Proceeds to miss the bucket and dump excess on the floor and use a roll of brown bathroom towels to clean it up... The least absorbent towels you could ever use. By this time we finished our drinks and noticed they dont have an actual kitchen and four microwaves. This disturbs me. There is so much potential with this place. To be dead and not busy when open until 2 am. This was at 12 midnight. Everyone seemed very grumpy. There is some much more to list. This place needs a huge renovation, updating and Gordon Ramsay. Very unhappy with the service. I know neither one of us will return ever. Unless requested by the owner..

A local legend. Im not sure if a plate of Chicken Nachos the size of the mashed potato mountain Richard Dreyfuss was making Clise Encounters counts as Pennsylvania Dutch cuisine, but the accompanying Potato Pancakes sure do. Apple butter included.Prepare for one of the most unique dining experiences (the grille is open and in the center of the lounge.

This place needs a serious lesson in teamwork. I sat here for 10 minutes with an empty beer and no one would fill it for me because my bartender was m.i.a. Potato pancakes were somehow soggy and burnt at the same time. Cold atmosphere. Mediocre food. Dont expect too much. I thought bartenders were supposed to be fun and engaging. Very good beer selection.

I Honestly would just not want to give this place no Stars if I could . I wouldnt know how the food Tastes , and my personal OPINION is I called them and the woman was rude behind the phone. They dont have an online Menu , And I was never here to know what to order off hand . I Said you dont have any specials ? She answered no!" I said no online menu? She said no!" I said i would like to order but i dont know what you have . she responded well we dont have an online menu!" Horrible customer Service ... You should want me to spend money and try helping the customer.

A couple of minutes away from Dorney Park. Good food, but not great, and they have a good beer selection. Our server didnt seem too into us. One thing that we found strange is that he couldnt split our check in 3 equal parts, but could split it in 3 parts. All 6 people in my party work in the service industry and were flabbergasted by this. I do like the look and feel of the place, though the entrance is easy to miss.

Went there tonight for Nachos and potato pancakes and we wanted just cheese and sour cream on the nachos easy right nope an hour and 40mins later we got just nachos that had beans in it we said no its wrong just cheese and sour cream and still waiting on potato pancakes so the server took it and made another one ok 15 mins later Nachos come out and now salsa was on it and still waiting on potato pancakes we got so mad and said sorry we dont want another go at this. I am upset been going there for along time and always was slow but didnt matter the food was always right I dont if we go back it may be a while

Came here for a small get together with some co workers. I reserved a table and they were very accommodating, and had it all set when we arrived. What a friendly, cozy and comfortable place with a wonderful hard working staff and great service. The drinks are great and the food amazing. Prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is warm, inviting. Very friendly crowd and fast service. A casual laid back setting with an interesting bar. Great place to kick back and relax. I will be back and will bring my friends. Loved it!!!!!!!

Went for a small B-day celebration with family when we arrived the waitress told us they only had one menu and we had to share for 9 people. Once we decide what we wanted from the one menu we placed the order for everything at once appetizers and mains. So a little after an hour we start to ask questions cause we still dont have our appetizers or any food while people around are us are getting food and they arrived after my party did. When asking the waitress she says food hasnt been started yet and would be another half hour at this point we ordered hour and half ago now so that would be 2 hours of waiting with no food so we asked to speak with a manager they send over a highschool kid that at first said he was the manager then changed to assistant manager just made excuses about how they only have 3 microwaves and 1 grill and didnt expect to be busy on a Saturday night at one point he said what did we expect and where else was my party going to go to eat. Never offering an apology or discounting the check so at this point after a couple mins of back and forth the owner Tommy who Ive now watched drinking behind the bar since we got there walks up and tells the highschool kid to give us the check and get us out. At that point we just got up and left not paying for anything. Cant believe the drunk actually expected us to pay for anything after horrible service.

Went on the website and it stated BBQ ribs, southern fried chicken, cornbread, collard greens, grits, waffles and mac and cheese...I though wow, good southern cooking, none of that is on their menu?? Place is a little outdated, food is cooked right in front of you in the center of the bar, most of it done in the microwave, I had a ribeye steak sandwich, was chewy and the roll was old and fell apart, potato pancakes were ok, beer selection was good but the kid bartending took my glass to get me another beer and never came back? He stood there drinking his soda so I had to ask another person for a beer...this place could be a goldmine...the show Bar Rescue could put this place back on the map...

Went here on a recommendation and the place was okay. They cook using a smoke pit/grill and 4 convection ovens. You can see all the action in the middle. They are famous for there nachos which are made from Doritos which is interesting. One order of nachos can feed about 4 to 6 people. Good beer selection and the bartender was good at his job but lacked personality. I would try it once.

Always a great time when we go there, been going there since the 90s and look forward to our next visit. Staff is very friendly, the food abd drinks good. Personal favorites include the nachos, potato cakes with sour cream & apple butter and black gold steak.

Some of the best wings and flavors Ive had, being grilled, and great beer selection with other great tasting food! Nachos are amazing as well!! With several TVs for game night.

Have been going here for years. Food is very good. Staff is low right now but they do their best. Their famaus nachos are great and huge.

I had the NY strip steak and it was done perfectly. All the food was cooked as desired and served quickly. The staff was helpful in selecting drinks and checked on us often without it being too much.

This is a really cool place. (Rediculously close to Dorney Park!!Dont mind the entrance, this place has charm inside. Sit at the bar, and emjor the food and the people. Drinks are good, craft beer is better. Food was amazing for us; and well priced in my opinion. Far better than what youd get in the theme park, or the next door Pizza Hut.Do yourself a favor, and try it. Delicious.

Great food and a comfortable laid back atmosphere! This is a nice friendly and clean place and the staff are absolutely amazing! Every time I eat there, I am never disappointed in what I order. And you get such generous portions. I always end up taking half home but it still tastes great the next day! I think this would a cute first date restaurant, not overly priced and the food and staff are great.

A delicious and interesting place! Been going there for a while with my wife. Their "small" nachos are enough to feed three people. Great beer selection, great warm and cozy atmosphere. Centerpiece of the whole place is the bar surrounding the giant grill and kitchen.

Overpriced for the portions and quality of food you recieve. Got a burger which I ordered medium rare and got it very well done and burnt on the outside. Very dim lighting to the point I had to use my phones flashlight. Not a over all good experience and I wou ld recommend going anywhere else but here. Also family member I went with got food poisoning, Stay far away from here!Another note a lot of there food seems to re reheated on the grill or their best friend the mircrowave.I am being VERY generous by even giving them a star rating, wish I could go lower!!

Totally weird but definitely awesome! The atmosphere feels like youve been transported somewhere else. The focal point is the huge round bar that surrounds the working kitchen. The staff is unconventional and fun. The nachos, made with Doritos, were surprisingly very, very good. Great place to take the kids. We will definitely be back.

Ive been coming here for several years now. Typically once per month or so. The food is generally very good. Buffalo burger, wraps, Cuban, potato cakes, and of course those nachos. There are TVs but its not a sports bar. Ill admit that the service staff is mediocre and could use some polish but they are likable and experienced. Tap beer selection isnt bad considering there are generally only about 6 beers on tap at any given time and you know most of those go to Miller, Coors, etc. Couple of micros and a good selection of bottles. For larger parties, call ahead.

Not bad. The food was pretty decent (although a little pricey for the simplistic fare), but they were out of over half of their drinks (because they got a delivery in that day?). Also, their credit card/debit machine went offline and they couldnt fix it, so I had to hand over my drivers license and walk to an ATM just to withdraw cash to come back and pay them. Its a cool-looking place, though.

First 5 minutes into this place, and already fell in love. Amazing service, fun atmosphere, and an overall unique layout that really sets it apart from other places. Its open late, meaning that night owls always have a place to go. The beer selection is amazing, and always changing, leaving plenty of brews to always try. Nachoes use a whole bag of Doritos for a small, its huge, and worth it.

Chilli taste like canned spaghetti. Famous nachos were very processed, high in sodium to the taste.were good only 3 bites in, then I realized this was gonna make me feel sick. Very far from natural food , should of known better lol wings were good though

We only ordered sandwiches, but it took forever to get our food. The place was half-full at most. I might have excused the wait if our server had at least checked on us throughout and apologized, but we sat with empty glasses for 10 minutes before the food came (after sipping them down for 25 minutes), and THEN the server still didnt ask if we needed anything when he did bring the food. The food itself was good, but the wait and lack of service make me seriously question whether Ill give this place a second shot.

Odd 70ish feel with the bar setup but odd in a good way.

I love the Chicken Lounge. Its a unique place. Good beer selection and a unique layout with an open, circular grill and kitchen in the middle of the restaurant. If they have one flaw, it would be consistency. I have had a couple less good experiences, but on 20+ years its been mostly positive and they always made it right. Their wings are somewhat unique, flavorful and grilled which makes them different from the rest.

Our hotel recommended the Chicken Lounge for dinner. We were on our way back from Florida and had stopped in Allentown for the night. WE loved this restaurant! It had an incredible menu with lots of choices and an outstanding beer list I had a filet minion-- outstanding! The service was the best. You wont be disappointed

Ok so this place is very good. The chicken sandwiches are delicious I had the buffalo chicken sandwich it was juicy and very tasty. The potato pancakes were very good they were crispy kinda like a larger version of a tater tot but better crispy and tasty. The wings were WAY TOO FATTY. Honestly they taste like they are frozen wings from a bag from Walmart. They season them with REALLY GOOD seasoning but they are mostly fat. I saw other dishes people were having and they all looked great. Great food just the wings were not good quality.

Good grill and bar. Had a very enjoyable dinner. Following others posters advice I tried the grilled potato pancakes and was happy I did. The rest of the meal was equally as good. Very nice selection of beers. Service was good. If you like the grill you will be happy here.
