Chicken Chef in Gimli

Wellmashed potatoes were cold,chicken was ok not greatest Winnipeg chicken chef on regent is great but Gimli not so great .waitress asked us at end how every thing was and refill for daughter and ice tea taste terrible and she was going get us the same drink yuck so we stopped her .portions sucked as got more at Winnipeg locations for the price. Drinks were really watered down with ice .the blonde waitress we had was always checking on the big tables as she probably thought big tip but as a waitress you should treat each customer the same .she was friendly and nice but as I feel she didnt do job right. Won t be going back

My favorite place in Gimli for good food, clean space, faster and friendly services. Staffs are courteous and helpful in taking orders and bringing foods.

Tried Chicken Chef for the first time ever! Kids had chicken finger dinner with fries and Cole slaw and split it 3 ways, Hubby had a 3 piece meal with fries and coleslaw, I had 2 piece snack with just fries (I ate kids coleslaw, it was so good). The chicken was really tender, great flavour, and not super greasy like you get at many chicken fast food places. We had heard it was good by local family, but we were still unsure. We are very happy we stopped in to try. The chicken fingers were also delicious and we all enjoyed our meals. The staff was friendly, attentive and patient with our 3 little ones. Great first experience. Will be back for sure.

Chicken Chef is a great place to get fried chicken. The side dishes are well done also, and the portions are generous.The staff at this location (like most that I have been toare helpful and quick to take the order and bring the food.I wish they had this restaurant in Ontario!.

I havent been here in years. Yesterday I picked up an order. I ordered a 4 piece chicken meal. The chicken was very good. The sides were also very good. The service was exceptional. Everyone was very friendly.

Staff seemed busy,Me and my boyfriend ordered a meal with 2 coffees, and the waitress only gave us one cup of coffee each,and forgot to refill our coffee cups yet..Food was ok..Why giving a 2/5 make sure youre customers are being taken care of,before running around all over the place..Did work in a restaurant before,try to check up on your customers every 10 minutes or 15 mins?????

Good service and burger was better than I thought from a chicken place. Really wanted a burger but the place we were going to closed for the season. The burger here was a good substitute.

I love Chicken Chef. It’s my favourite fried chicken. Not feeling very hungry I ordered the perogy snack. I have had perogies before and have had Chicken Chef perogies before. When they arrived they were weirdly cracked. When I took a bite the inside was frozen. I rarely return anything and I knew how busy the staff was, but I did ask for a new order. The second order was so hard it was hard to eat. I ate some and when I discussed with waiter who asked how it was, he explained they were deep fried. Well ok then. Would not order the perogies here - clearly an issue.

The staff are consistently friendly and knowledgeable. I had to the Club sandwich again and is one of my favorites. The chicken dinner is very tasty. But still a little expensive.

Today 16 of us stopped in here on our way to Hecla. We were in and out in less than an hour. The service was prompt and very friendly. Our orders was accurate, hot and very timely. We would all highly recommend stopping here on your next visit to Gimli or on your way through.

Got there around 11am. Would not serve breakfast. Made me bacon sandwich. Would make Denver Sandwich which had egg.See something stupid here?????

Chicken fingers were marginal, borscht was terrible, fries were okay.Not a place I would ever return too.Staff were friendly and service was good.

My 8 year old daughter wanted Chicken Chef for her birthday lol We were going to have it at the resort hotel, but they didnt want to help us for a reservation of 8. Chicken Chef were more than happy to accommodate us. Our servers name was Cheryl and she was unbelievable! Very attentive and efficient. Always great food and they even took the time to sing my daughter happy birthday and gave her a complimentary ice cream. We were so happy to get the treatment we did and would not hesitate to support this location any time we are out Im Gimli.

The service was amazing the waiter was johnny on the spot for everything but if you get the spicy chicken wrap prepare to be pretty much drinking hot sauce with the chicken

Quesdilla come with 6 pieces not bad, 2 piece dinner was good.

I was there on Friday. Food was good. However not all staff wore their masks. All the servers wore mask but not all of them correctly. However one of the food preparers never wore her mask over her nose and mouth., she had it hanging on her chin, all others were. She is handling food for others, poor example for customers and other staff.

Friendly staff, fair price for food from a chain, tasted fine and the kids loved this place. Our best stop on Gimli!

Not very good. First they got part of the order wrong. Then asked my wife if she wanted a coffee refill and didnt come back for 10 minutes to ask again if she wanted a refill, this time the waitress took the cup and never returned.

Pacos in Gimli has better chicken at a better price. Unfortunately they were closed so we had to go to Chicken Chef. There pizza was good though.

RIPPED OFF, and IgnoredI ordered and Chicken Burger for $13 and when it came it did not even have fries and coleslaw which were advertised in the picture. And when I got my burger is was smaller than the value menu Chicken burger at MacDonalds. Also they charged an extra dollar for putting barely any Chipotle sauce on.Then we went back later to give them another chance and they closed 10 minutes early and refused service. Without doubt the Worst restaurant in the whole province.

Service was not as good as I remember. I enjoyed my food but my friend didnt. Said her shrimp was under done. Coleslaw was a bit too sweet.

Better than expected. Able to sit with back to wall, with good views down the street. The old man that nodded to me to follow him to the washroom turned out not to be my contact.Breakfast filled me up nicely and coffee was plentiful.

We had the breakfast and it was very good. Service was excellent and friendly. A place where you can enjoy your meal.

Five stars to the Gimli Chicken Chef for adding the Beyond Meat Burger to their menu! As a plant-based eater, I really appreciated having this ordering option and really enjoyed eating it! Friendly staff with lots of seating space available (booth or dining tables)!

Horrible service took over a hour! Waitress never came to our table for refills. Dont know how to give proper change back for Bill! Never going here again! Wasnt worth the wait

I was there today for breakfast with my kids and their Grandparents...Terrible service: 20 minutes to get a menu & drinks, over an hour and had not recieved our breakfast...5 other tables arrived after us and were already eating. We tried to be patient & kind but recd only attitude and excuses. Talked to the manager (Dylanwho rolled his eyes at us, treated us like we were the problem, was extremely rude and was so unpleasant even telling us (as customersto go back to talk to the cook! He was so awful that my 7 year old daughter had an anxiety attack as we were leaving. The manager was not apologetic for our experience and did not offer any solutions, he was only cocky, patronizing and rude. We were disappointed that reasonable requests for an explanation for our long wait were met with this behavior from the manager! We were given a number for a superior manager, which was an unavailable number. Unacceptable & so disappointing!! We will not return.

The only Chicken place to eat in Gimli. Had the 3 piece fish dinner was excellent. Fish pieces were large and meaty. Chicken dinner was tasty and everything was freash.

This has got to be the best Chicken Chef in all of Manitoba. The food is consistently prepared and served hot. The staff are amazing and we have never had a bad experience ever. My husband grew up in the area and we go back to visit his family and we always incorporate a trip to chicken chef for a meal. Keep up the great work everyone!

COMPLETE LOSS OF RESPECT, AND MY BUISNESSI ordered take out, my wife picked it up and brought it home for supper for my kids, wife and I. She gets home and open the bag and they had completly forgot the nachos, and of course the nachos were for the kids.. So naturally we gave the kids our food which was mazza burgers and poutines, since it was now 5:30 and called chicken chef back. I talked to the owner of the restaurant Melanie Specula. I explained the situation and the first thing she said was "sorry its really busy" "I dont know what to tell you". I worked in the restaurant industry for many years, as a server, cook, and manager. Never have I told a customer I dont know what to tell them.. You first offer to remake the food, if that does not satisfy the customer you offer a refund and possibly the entire bill and or store credit in hopes that the customer returns once again to restore Thier faith in your restaurant and staff. After she handed me the nachos she walked away as I was trying to speak to her, she came back and told me to get out and that I was the reason that they have help wanted signs on the doors. In what world do you treat anybody that way nevermind a local paying customer supporting your business. When I got home with the nachos half of them were burnt and the other half hardly cooked. My wife also informed me that they had gotten her breakfast sandwich wrong twice earlier this week. Sorry gimli chicken chef but you wont be seeing me or my family until there are new owners.

I like their breakfast menu. Lunch menu is also quite good with large portions. Service is friendly and fast.

Of all the testaments in Gimli, this place is the best by far.Good prices, good service, great food. Clean restaurant! And really great breakfast!A win all around.

The staff here were super friendly and happily seated my son and I for dinner even though it was rapidly approaching closing time. We were never rushed to finish our meals which were delicious and great value. Will definitely visit again the next time we are in the area.

It was uncomfortable with who the customers were. There was this middle aged woman with her elderly parents giving me and my almost 10 month old baby dirty looks. Its pretty sad that racism still exists. My chicken looked like it was thrown on the floor so I didnt eat it. Told them how disgusting it looked so I didnt get charged. Chicken chef should change their name to chicken cook.

Good place to eat. Staff is friendly. Have been here for breakfast and dinners and not had a miss. Consistent and tasty.

Sit for 2 hours at chicken chef in gimli, ordered our breakfast at 10:40 we just walked out now.. UNFED; when people who ordered lunch, 45 minutes after you ordered breakfast, are being served, thats when its time to leave. Manager tells me how two people quit, not my problem nor does it explain why people who ordered 45 minutes after us are getting their food!! Didnt even apologize just made excuses. Chicken Chef in Gimli YOU SUCK!! Couldve been home and eaten breakfast for the length of time we just waited for food in your establishment. What a waste and a joke!!

If you decide to dine in, make sure you clear your evening plans. 1 hour to get chicken fingers, Caesar salad and fries?! This restaurant has failed to deliver a couple times now, so save your time and money, and check out other hot spots - like Ship N Plough on the same street (amazing!). We asked the ETA of the food just as a ballpark, and our server avoided us. At least offer to top our drinks, or maybe check in a second time to reassure us there was something heading our way shortly. We even had to flag down a different server for more water. The food isnt worth the wait, and the dining experience certainly spoke for itself. Avoid.

Classic Manitoba Chicken Chef...never lets me down! Salisbury steak....great! Chicken, the best! Not greasy and the gravy kicks ass! Price is good too.

As with any Chicken Chef its alright but not great. The chicken is quite good however everything else on this fairly large menu is quite bland. The burgers are of the pre-made and frozen variety as well. Great for seniors and children.
