Chez Marco Restaurant and Bar - French restaurant in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Chez Marco Restaurant and Bar in Chiang Mai
Description
Privilege
Best steak in chiang mai and great service as well
We were very sad about our experience with the restaurant as it looked so promising which is why we came. We showed up around 4 because it said they were open turns out they werent open until 5 pm so they told us to come back then they were open. Very eager to try this restaurant we waited an hour and walked around to kill some time. When 5 pm approached we walked to the place and they completely ignored us and we tried to get their attention because they were open and they just continued to walk away from us... We were very confused so we asked them again if they were open and they said yes and then proceeded to shut the door on us. Super odd experience and not sure why this happened considering others said they had great service.
MoreSteak was very good. The duck just average. Ill be back for the Steak.
Been coming for years and years and I still think this is one of the best restaurants in Chiang Mai. Atmosphere, good food, value, somewhat crazy but amazingly friendly owners, this place has it all. If you are going to eat Western food in Chiang Mai, go to Chez Marco!
MoreChez Marco is a very very nice Place and very good Food and the Price is very Ok
MoreThe food is quite OK but the service is not friendly.
Good French place. Rillettes was especially welcome!
Sooooo gooood. And good prices!
Nice french restaurant in busy area. Homemade tastes and style. Pretty old one. Not one of the best in ChiangMai, but worth visit if you stay nearby. No parking.
MoreAuthentic French Mediterranean cuisine!Very friendly atmosphere
The rib eye was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The wine, cheese and cold cut platters were equally good.
MoreFood was very nice, unfortunately a woman with an incredibly rambunctious child, whom she refused to discipline, ruined the entire experience for everyone and the staff did nothing to address to situation
MoreThe food was lovely but the waitresses need a bit more training. She brought a shot instead of the cocktail and then my main came as a starter. The mains came out before the starter plates had been lifted. The taste of the food made up for any small mistakes.
MoreWonderful food. Great chef/cook. Ordered Japanese, Italian French and the best ribs ever. I know, bit of a strange combo. However, I wouldnt have had better if I had ordered in any of those countries. Had some amazing specials on offer. Really top notch food 👌
MoreAlways a pleasure to taste Marco’s delicious dishes, this time I took the pork chop with mushroom cream sauce. Once again it was perfect !If you’re looking for good French cuisine mixed with a touch of Japanese style then this is the right place !
MoreExcellent French cuisine for abordable prices.
One of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Great selection beautifully prepared.
Honest review. They didnt ask the cooking of her steak, her fault, but with this price, you didnt expect the chef just guessing the cooking, right? No butter with the bread? Kids portion with an adult price. Food was really good.Too expensive for what it was.
MoreFabulous French restaurant in Chiang Mai. Chef is apparently mix of Japanese and French, and some of their dishes are Japanese-inspired, such as their gyoza, which is highly recommended!Interior is colourful and comfortable, the staff are efficient and helpful. No jacket or dressing-up required, but always nice to wear decent clothing (avoid tank tops, swim shorts, etc)Overall a great experience.
MoreIt’s the best Italian and French in Thailand. Just follow Marco’s favorite👍👍👍
MoreThe food here is so good. Classic French cooking, absolutely delicious and fairly priced. Really very good thank you! I was going to knock off a star because we felt the service could of been a little friendlier, but I figured were all human and sometimes its hard to be very cheerful 24/7. Will defo be back!
MoreAmazing food! Absolutely loved the food , perfect Italian in the heart of Chiangmai. Recommend giving it a try.(side note : no lasagna here)
MoreIm so happy to discover this restaurant. I enjoyed the steak and cheese platter. I highly recommend that you order this if its your first time. Other than that, the restaurant is so nicely decorated and cosy. Price are reasonable for the quality that you get. Thank you Chez Marco
MoreIt’s funny to me that some of the best French restaurants I’ve ever eaten and are located in northern Thailand. If you read my reviews, you will find that La Terresa is my favorite in Chiangmai but this place is absolutely incredible as well. I highly recommend it. The ribs are so tender they fall off the bone. They are the best ribs I’ve ever eaten. The owner is very friendly and so are the staff. I only ate here a few times but next time I visit Thailand I will come here again for sure.
Moresteak pasta spaghetti seafood salad
Best Salad Niçoise I ever had ! This is my third time in 2 weeks. Love the red wine.
MoreWonderful meal. The carpaccio was really delicious. The duck was seared beautifully, and the pork was cooked perfectly.
MoreA Great place near old city of Chiang Mai.You can find western menus there too.
A fantastic restaurant!!! Great menu, wines, and desserts! I had the Mediterranean chicken salad and their dressing was amazing (not sweet, like a lot of Thai dressings!), And their red house wine by the glass! I will def return here! This is a must visit restaurant! Highly recommend!!!
MoreThis restaurant belongs to the upper class in Chiang Mai. To European standards its rather average. They miss the finesse needed to be upper class. So I decide to consider it the better middle class. Little food for solid price 😉
MoreHad a nice dinner there but staff didnt know if ravioli was made fresh in house. Pork chop was outstanding. Reasonable prices.
MoreI had been here last time 5 years ago. I went there and glad that the restaurant is still there. They seems to have a regular customer. The foods are great as usual. I like the chef special menus.
MoreThe first time I went, the food was great. However, the second time was near awful. We couldnt finish a whole dish that was on the "Special of the Day" menu because all the seafood was all frozen and it just didnt taste good. This second time was very disappointing and no one offered to change the dish/bothered to ask. I dont think Ill go back again unfortunately.
MoreExcellent cuisine at Chez Marco.Any foods are so nice and reasonable. His dishes have originality and good taste. I love carpaccio, prosciutto and pasta. And also must eat Gyoza. The chef Marco and all staffs are very friendly and provide good service. You will be become fan once you come here. I recommend to come here when you visit Chaingmai.
MoreMy friend and I were came from TW and HK, wanna try something instead of local food so we came and enjoyed all dishes here. The waitress recommended the duck salade which is great! I had salmon for main course, the sauce is excellentes well!! Also love the cozy atmosphere
MoreIf you are looking for French &Italian restaurant . Chez Marco is one of the best in chiangmai. Chef Marco is so talented. His food is amazing. We were in Chiang mai for 5 night . We went Chez Marco 3 times. Love it here. You should call to make a reservation before cos they are always busy here. There are 2 sections : outside or inside with AC. For us We prefer to sit outside. Bon appetit! Vous ne serez pas deçu.
MoreGreat food on roi kor road.. When you were visit in chaing mai..
The food was okay but not exceptionally good and also pricey. The service was lax and the waiters were inattentive and not particularly good in english. The waiter stacked dirty dishes on top of each other on the table where we sat right in front of us on the table when we were finished eating. The music was loud and stressful while the guests ate. Must be able to demand more in such an expensive place.
MoreGreat food French European style. Service is a good. They forgot a entree on this visit. When we had friend from overseas join us. The were apologetic as it was a language issue with waitress. In the end there was so much food it wasnt missed. Deserts were tasty also & wine at responsible price. Ive been dinning here for over 5 years and it never disappoints..
MoreThe food was outstanding, the atmosphere cozy, the bottled house red was very drinkable, and the music appropriate, the only thing I felt was a bit forced was the wait staff interactions. They were efficient and polite, and I was not realistically expecting a fluent exchange of witty repartee, but that famliar Thai ease was missing, and noticable. Maybe an off night? But with the overall high quality, it seemed amiss enough to drop a star. I shall return, and you would not want to miss this great bistro experience, on account of my one small gripe. Pro tip start or end the night a few doors up in the Carnival Bar, who always have great live blues, non-pushy hostesses, and reasonably priced frozen Margaritas.
MoreLovely restaurant if you want to give your stomach a break from all the deliciously painful spicy Thai food! Perfectly cooked rare steak and tender pork chop. Great date night place.
MoreA last minute decision to come here cuz was in the mood for hearty steak dinner. The Steak Provencale is a garlic crusted ribeye first seared then baked - highly recommended as the meat is more tasty than other steak entrees. The foie gras and potato soup were both very tasty. Total bill for 2: Baht 1600
MoreMust visit restaurant in Chiangmai! Great food, service, and price.
Wow... this place is great, certainly the best restaurant on Loi Kroh, maybe the best restaurant in the Night Bazzar area if you have a thing for french cusine. Ive eaten there a couple of times now and just love the place. The chef deserves the highest accolades from me personally, I have yet to be disappointed. Im very picky about my Carpaccio and Salmon... this restaurant is superb. Great service, great menu... Bon Apetite
MoreReal french cuisine. We had the tenderloin, salmon, carpaccio and a salad. Will come back again. I’m excited about this place. Prices reasonable. Way better than going to the upscale places near the river.
MoreOne of the best meals we had in Southeast Asia. If your looking for a break from Asian cooking, this is the place. Wonderful French and Alsace inspired entrees. The pork chop with mustard sauce and potatoes dauphinois were outstanding. The mixed green salad was perfect. The wines were some of the best my wife and I had tasted in many months of travel. Highly recommend Chez Marco. Enjoy!
MoreWanted a change from Thai food and found this treasure. The Paul salad was the highlight of my meal, my husband loved the steak, great service, nice wine and friendly servers. Great find!!
MoreSuch a "feel good" place! "Chez Marco" is as good as a family restaurant can get! I have been dining here at least once a month for the past ten 10 years...And I did witness the constant improvement in the menu and the atmosphere! Without a doubt the very best dining option in Loi Kroh area! Go Marco go!
MoreFood, French Mediterranean style is very good but service is awful. The waitresses run after the tips and stick to the most supplied tables. Cutlery not changed between dishes. The French restoration must be distinguished as much by the quality of the food as by the service, which is not the case here.
MoreVery friendly and competent staff. Food is French and Mediterranean a little on the expensive side for Chiang Mai. The quality, however, is good and the food is tasty. I am told the beef is excellent but I have not tried it. Their chicken breast as well as the duck breast were delicious.
