It was 6:50pm and we wanted to dine at St. Lazare. The kitchen opens at 7pm. We entered and asked for two glasses of wine till it becomes 7pm so we can order dinner. The waiter refused and told us to wait 10mins.I will never understand the F&B sector here.. the F&B community itself won’t understand!0 hospitality!!!!Your loss.

Small tiny tourist restaurant close to Versailles. Food was OK.

Absolutely delicious! I got the Mozarella & Tomato entrée, which was incredibly good and well dressed, along with seared Salmon & Grilled Vegetables. All was very tasty, to say the least. Unfortunately didn’t manage room for dessert, but the staff members were very friendly and kindly gave me a to-go order of the Brioche Pain Perdu (although to be honest, everything on the dessert menu looked and sounded great).1000% recommend.

After touring the Palace of Versailles, I stopped by here and had a great time! We ordered the mussels and fries special (only 12 Euros!!which was delicious — the garlic and wine sauce really amped up the mussels. I also got a salad that came with gizzards and foie gras. Holy moly this was so good, the portion was huge and the gizzards and foie gras were piled on! Id never had this combination on a salad before and my life is changed! The service was pretty friendly too.

My favorite place in Versailles Village. The food is always great, staff speaks English and they are very kind. Bathrooms are upstairs and clean. Everything is great on the menu, traditional French!

A very busy restaurant with a large selection of food (even has a vegetarian dish). Staff are accommodating and spoke English with us. We will return if in this part of world.

Beautifully prepared, authentically savory meals. I enjoyed the charcoal grill effect and the quality of the meats was superb! The staff were very accommodating and served me in English. The flexible flavour pairings the menu allows is sure to invite you back!!

Extensive menu, great ambiance, server was friendly and patient with us as we spoke little French. Raviolis, chicken skewer, smoked salmon and mussels were wonderful!

Nice spot in Versailles but pretty overpriced. The escargots were very tasty but the loempia’s were disappointing. They were tastless and bland. The coquilles were also fairly bland and too cooked. The côte de boufe was fine but had a lot of fat on it. The mussels were a bit weird and too hard, so I wouldn’t recommend it. The lam was also fine but not spectacular. The staff was very friendly, could speak english well and served the food quickly! The street also had a good atmosphere and was busy. So, in short a nice atmospheric place but the food isn’t the best. The vibe makes up for it!

Superb Sunday lunch. We went for the three course option and each dish was sublime. Scallops, duck, salmon and lamb all cooked perfectly and good healthy portion sizes. The dessert was also excellent. Service A+ and price for food and wine very reasonable. Ill be going back for more!

Nice simple place. Nothing super exceptional but just good for lunch or dinner with friends. Prices are reasonable, also formulas, which make it attractive to have and a starter, and a desert. The ravioli and escargots were really very good. Cotê de bœuf was not my favorite, but ribs were also very good. Very friendly staff and quick service.

Sublime food, really welcoming staff. We usually dont go to a place twice on vacation, but we might go there tomorrow for the third time! Chalk walls in the bathroom are a fun twist aswell. Would come again for sure!

Incredible. Lovely little authentic spot that is a 7 minute walk from Versailles. Would 10/10 recommend. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Can’t go wrong.

Wonderful French bistro/grill in Versailles! Outstanding food and desserts! English friendly. We are here twice the food was so good. Some friendly advice though, if you ask for a recommendation on the desert and they tell you they have a French delicacy that consists of ice cream and brioche. Dont be fooled like I was, its just French toast! 🤣🤣🤣

Food was very good. My friends and I all had different dishes and all seemed good. The salmon was perfect and chicken wings were quite good. The system is that you select a combination of entree, main dish and dessert amd based on that you have a price, independently of the entree, plate or dessert you choose. You can also ask for price if just want one of these. Only downside is that the place is a bit small, but still in very nice area in Versailles.

Absolutely loved this place. Great atmosphere and good food. Really rounded out the day in versailles. Didnt have a reservation on s Tuesday and didnt have to wait, but it was quite busy.One of my favorite eating experiences on my trip.

Great little brasserie a short walk from the Versailles Palace. Very reasonable prices for extremely tasty food, perhaps the best meal I have had in the Paris region.As a dessert option do not miss the large Creme Brulee.

Nice atmosphere and people, very busy! However, the toilets were full of graffiti and my mussles tasted of tobacco, as well as an awful smell. The chips were also very soggy, hopefully would be better if I chose something different.

Really nice restaurant in Versailles. Would recommend the camembert for starter and côte de boef as main course. Friendly staff and quick service. Fully packed by 21.30, so be there before to get a table. We’ll come back 🤤👍🏼👍🏼

Service was not good at all. Ordered an one entree + one starter combo, but the bill charged them separately, which resulted in a higher number. The waiter played dumb at first until we pointed out we wanted the combo deal. He was not impressed when we asked he to change the bill. Bad customer service all around.

this is a good place for dinner in Versailles. It has 2 floors it is cosy and small as a french restaurant. The food is really really good! I ordered the duck and my friend ordered the lamp and were both delicious and cooked as we asked! The prices are normal for a 3 plate course, and the house wine is fine. Overall it was a great night and i would go back again! Desserts are also satisfying i got the profiterol XL! heaven!

We were in Versailles on a typical quiet Monday. Restaurant availability was difficult but thankfully we managed to get a table for 3. The food here is certainly a large portion and tasted amazing. Service (considering how busy it waswas very good and the costs were more than reasonable. Highly recommended

Amazing grill. Scallops were done to perfection. Melon and ham were super tasty. Escargots were buttery and nice.

Very good fish, good raviole. The meat came well done instead of medium, but good.

I’m from Hong Kong.We have entered the restaurant and asked for taking order for 15 minutes and the waiter and waitress keep ignoring us, I guess it’s because we are not French, as they actively take order for the French customers who arrive later than us.Bad experience.

Welcoming staff-friendly & efficient. Good value for money; the main dishes come in good proportions. Tasty food & good wine selections. Unlike some other places, Chez Lazare is a good choice & definitely NOT a tourist trap.

The table was cramped, the service was slow and impersonnel.The food was simply OK, which is a waste for the money given the number of excellent options in Versailles. If there isnt space anywhere else, go here. Otherwise your money and time is best spent elsewhere.

Food is decent, a bit pricey though. I only complain about the price becuase it is listed on google as being one of the cheaper restaurants in the area. Thats not the case unless you are getting the special. Otherwise each dish is in the 18-28 euro range.

Ordered the special of the day which was a piece of steak, a pile of French fries and a pile of floppy lettuce. The sauce was tasty but the meat was the toughest piece of meat I have ever tried to eat. In fact we could not eat it, and sent it back. Waitress did offer us an alternative but we thought her attitude was not understanding and so we chose to eat the dessert which was just ok. They only charged us for the main which was nice of them but 24 euro was still a lot for what we ate. I would not go back.

I used to go to Chez Lazare quite often about 5 years ago but then after couple times we werent happy with neither food nor service we stopped going there.Yesterday I gave it another try and I was absolutely amazed with the quality of the food. It was a hearty portion of filet mignon and cooked just perfectly: the meat was melting in the mouth. Starters were great as well (if youre super hungry go for ravioles du Dauphiné you wont regret it). Unfortunately left no space for dessert but they always were good there (if you ever go for profiteroles consider sharing).

The Food is Nice, but its Nice in most of the restaurants in Versailles, isnt it? Service put me off. We had a dinner on Friday around 8:30pm, the place was full, so the waiters were running like crazy. I had to wait for my dessert for 40mins at least. I understand they were busy, but if they know that Friday night is like that, maybe more staff needs to be brought on board. So, I probably wouldnt come back, though Chocolate melting cake was Delicious!

Chez Lazare is conveniently located on Rue Satory which is a close walk to the main entrance of the Versailles Palace. Thankfully it was opened in this sleepy town during August, prime European vacation month.Plat Du Jour (Lunch)In ordinary french fashion, there is a "plat du jour" special for lunch that includes a main dish (selection out of three optionsand dessert (selection out of two optionsfor about 13 Euro. When I was there, the options for main dish included a vegetarian option, pork chops with apple glaze, and salmon lasagna. The pork chops were very well done although the portions were rather small (only one small pork chop).Dinner:The dinner menu offers you combination deals of appetizer and dessert, main dish and dessert, and appetizer, main dish, and dessert (prices averaged to around 20 Euro). The portions are slightly larger than what you will receive at lunch. You can also order the main dish separately for 15 Euros and includes a side of your choosing (grilled vegetables, fries, baked potato, salad). I ordered the lamb chops which was extremely flavorful (recommended to me by the waitress). Our neighbors order of moules (musselslooked excellent and the portions were generous.Chez Lazare is not to be missed during your trip to Versailles! Like at all restaurants in Europe, if you arrive at American dinner time, there will be no waiting whatsoever. Plus for us! Just dont arrive at Fei dinner time or else the restaurant will be closed (6:00 PM or 6:30 PM). :(
