Cheviot Park Motor Lodge in Whangarei

The owners were lovely here. The rooms were comfortable and spacious which is a change in this day and age. The rooms are showing their age a bit but it was still a very pleasant stay. The spa pool was very nice and very hot which was good. This is the best place I have stayed so far in whangarei

Four of us stayed recently at Cheviot Park. Two in a one bedroom unit and two in a studio . Both were perfect !As none of us had been to Whangerei before it was great to find how perfect the location was for driving into the centre and surrounding sights .The hosts were lovely. We would definitely stay here again.

Great hosts hadn’t pre booked and it was a holiday weekend and they were happy to fit us in. Bed was super comfy thanks.

Clean, tidy rooms and friendly service, but right on SH1, so traffic noise is very loud at 4am and woke me up and kept me awake.

Great place to stay. Highly recommend. Staff are also friendly and helpful.

Pleasant stay. Handy to town. Great tgat you can book an actual house if theres a few of you.

Stopping by random chance we could get room for a few days they only had 1 available for a night. Tim the stand in receptionist was most helpful in looking at other places on line for us and we decided to take the room then we met his wife Jan who was just as pleasant. Will deff look at coming back here and letting others know

Was ok - main draw back was it was close to a major intersection at the bottom of a hill and could hear trucks that had got the red light grinding up the hill through the night.Was clean, friendly staff, would stay again but request another unit

Location is bad. Situated on main highway. Very noisy. Windows and doors were not double glazed. Could not have a decent sleep.

I guess the family who own this beautifully run motel make it a great place to stay.Nothing beats an owner-operated business for service.Everywhere I looked I could see the pride taken in the surroundings(lovely palms,clean grounds),the fittings in the studio unit eg a heated towel rail,hooks in the bathroom,a little bench top oven as well as the microwave,a suitcase stand.Very close to town and,although on a main road,we slept well,tucked in at the end of the units.Thank you for a relaxing few days in your special accommodation.

Wonderful stay there with my family and father in wheelchair. Sarah was so accommodating and we really appreciated her going out of her way to make our stay so comfortable. Everything was close to all we needed and the rooms were perfect. Thank you to all the great team there and we will definitely be back!

Uncomfortable sofa bed to wat h TV meant we had to find somewhere else. Manager very apologetic and was going to charge $40 cleaning fee for hygiene reasons. However because we had booked through Booking.com we were charged $165 for the night.

Great pad for those big teams needing accommodation in whangarei, good central location and heaps of room

Warm, and clean, comfy bed, big dinning table was great for playing cards while watching the Olympics, spa was nice after long day will stay again if I up that way

Great place.. first night..had a fully decked out 3brm house..all the mod cons, plenty of heating, light and space, two double beds, 4 singles.Second and third nights we were moved to a suite,very cosy, private and beautiful water pressure in the shower for after your spa.Great hosts,warm, welcoming and helpful.Would definitely stay here again.👍🏼👍🏼

Called in on the off chance they had a room. Was greeted by the lovely Jan, who made me feel so welcome, Id come back just for the customer service!She happily showed me the two rooms that were left, mentioning the road noise for the unit closest to the road. I stayed in small basic studio room which was very comfortable and clean, and also being towards the back so it was lovely and quiet. The property has a spa you can enjoy if you wish. I would have stayed another night if they had a room available. Good value for money and happy to recommend.

Friendly staff and great accommodation. Room was lovely and I had a couch in the room to sit on which was a plus for reading. Very relaxing stay.

Professional and so helpful! The room was tidy and it was a great price for what I got. Close to the hospital. SKY TV and WIFI. After coming back from visiting at the hospital they had serviced my room and you could see they had made a real effort to redo the room up again so it was nice when I got back. Thank you - you made a stressy situation a little less stressy!

Great Lodge, Very Freindly Staff. Very clean and tidy, spacious rooms. Enjoyed my stay a lot. Would recommend to anyone in the Whangarei area to stay.

Awesome place to stay especially when youve had a long tiring day. A place to chill out. Awesome friendly staff, made you feel welcome.

The stay there was comfortable and the location is very good, but close to the main road but easy enough enough to get out heading either north or south. Very good facilities and access to delivered meals with breakfast cooked on site.

Did a training course there and well set up with good surroundings. Also good food as lunch and tea breaks was excellent.

Good clean place to stay, nothing overly flash but everything you need when travelling with work, good clean well appointed rooms at a fair price!

My partner and I had just finished a long travel and were greeted by Jan. It was beautiful to have such a warm welcome. We were shown to our room. It was private well furnished and immaculate. We will definately stay here again. Thankyou Jan.

Stayed here a few times and found it to be a great experience every time rooms are cheap and always clean and have more than enough to accommodate your needs

Scrupulously clean. Good friendly people. Room was a studio which was ample for our needs. Highly recommended. Is also eco friendly with lots of solar panels producing heating for water and electricity supply.

We booked late for my business trip so not a lot of choice. This place has a 4.3 rating. The office staff are really nice. It isnt really in walking distance from town but 5 minutes by car. We had a one bedroom unit.The place is a lot older than we realised and it is in real need of a major make over. It is more like a backpackers. The layout is quite spacious good sized kitchen. Couch beds in the lounge are poor to sit on. The hand basin slops the wrong way so doesnt drain correctly. The glasses were not washed properly. Lipstick or lipbalm residues are never acceptable so we had to rewash all of the dishes. The carpet is way past replacement as is the whatever it is in the bathroom. The timber suround outside the shower has rotted. The TV is one of the smallest I have seen in a motel for quite a while. The king sized bed was ok. Probably a 3 rating is generous.

Worse customer service I have ever received. Booked and paid in full online via a third party website advised in the notes it would be a late check in. Turned up and got the worse service I have ever received told me I was wrong that they are full I advised I had paid for the room and how to get a refund atleast and they said "its not them its not their problem" and turned me away without any assistance at all. I understand its a third party but they are representing and offering your property to the public. There might have been a misunderstanding somewhere between you and the third party company that has nothing to do with me I booked and paid for a service I did not expect to be made to feel like I was in the wrong and completely shut down and shut out. Down right rude and would not recommend AT ALL!

Cheviot Park Motor lodge is a fantastic place to stay in Whangarei.The rooms and house were immaculate , well serviced and the staff are fantastic. Would recommend Cheviot Park Motor lodge.Great value for money.

We rented the house which was awesome. We came with au pair and three kids. There were 3 bedsrooms, one room had 3 beds which was perfect for the kids. They also loved the pool and spa. They even have many ev chargers, including 2 Tesla chargers. We loved our stay here. Staff were super friendly and helpful too. We sure will be back.

I stayed at Cheviot Park Motor Lodge with my husband and two young children. We were impressed at the value for money offered by this motel. Our room had full amenities and was very clean, and we had plenty of space for the four of us. We enjoyed the air con in our room, and the kids loved the pool. The water pressure in the shower is excellent, which is important to me.The staff made us feel very welcome, and they offer extras like complimentary newspapers which are a nice touch.I would happily stay at Cheviot Park Motor Lodge again, and will recommend it to others looking for a good value place to stay in Whangarei.

Cheviot Park Motor Lodge is a great place to stay when visiting Whangarei. Great value for money, immaculate rooms and facilities and friendly staff all make this place a winner. Well done to Tim and his team for providing an excellent product.

Great value for money compared to other places we have stayed at. For once the kids did not complain about the state of the place as we drove through the front gate. They even took the time to call us the following day to tell us of what we left behind. Handy to both the local kart and equestrian park. Highly recommend.

Comfortable clean spacious. V close to hospital. So well looked after. Wonderful people who have really looked after my needs and made my stay special. I would highly recommend this motel.I will return. Thank you for everything.

What a gem this motel is. From the moment of my request for an early check in the staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. The unit was a generous size, well equipped and spotlessly clean.The water pressure in the shower was impressive and it was great to have a separate toilet.Surprisingly quiet location too, with convenient proximity to both the city centre, and the hospital.Highly recommended.

What can I say we spent 4 nights here and the service is without a doubt the best Ive ever experienced at a Motor lodge. Peope who own it I think its Jan and Tim made us feel welcome. If you want exceptional service and facilities at a decent price please get a jold of theses guys. A hidden gem in the heart of Whangarei 👍

Very friendly staff. Spacious and clean room. Close to the city centre. The only negative things was the fridge which froze the milk we had in it.

Lovely owners who bent over backwards to facilitate requests. Conference facility was great, clean and bright. Screen, table cloths, whiteboard markers, air con, all included in conference room hire.

I only stayed one night, lovely clean room with good facilities. Friendly obliging owners. Would recommend A+
