Cherven Fortress - Archaeological museum in Razgrad, Bulgaria
Amazing place.
Good for families with small kids, but keep in mind, that there are stairs that takes you 20minutes to go up to the main monument. Nice panoramic views
An Aamazing experience, enhanced by the Archeotales app.
A great place to enjoy
The view is nice. But I feel the historical reconstruction is more artistic then historical.
Good place for view ofer the surrounding area, but not much to see on the place itself.Several remainings of medieval walls, some billboards with renderings of old structures and some explanation. But not much else
Very interesting historical site. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
Great views and nature around. Worth visiting.
A good place with a lot of history. A lot of steps to climb, though. And you need to pay cash, no cards accepted.
Free parking near. You will have to climb some stairs till the ruins. But up there you will have a beautiful view of the surrounding areas.
Place is seriously impressive. Information boards have beautiful renders of the old-days life.Be sure to walk past the fortress wall. The tour does not end there :)There are two parkings and two sets of steps up.On the lower level watch out for the hidden water passage - it is a cool piece of history.
Extraordinary place with breathtaking panorama views. The fortress is really fascinating and its well preserved. The battle tower is iconic. The whole location has been used in the popular tv series “Game of Thrones”.I loved every part of the place and its perfect for families and large groups. I strongly recommend it, it is a must see!!!
An easy to get to by car. Despite quite a few steps to climb to the top of the hill the historic Cherven fort is amazing. A must see place.
Beautiful place
Breathtaking view from the one of most important fortress in the bulgarian history .
Lovely place, lovely food down there, at the entrance. Lovely guide. Just go!
Next perl from Bulgaria, only for real discoveries. Location worth to have big effort only for see smartness founders. Big doses Bulgarian legacy, for nature lovers.
Next day fascinating about Bulgaria, this fortress complex is so amazing. You can stay alone back to the history and enjoy nature. Happy to be there.
Nice fortress and view!
Nice Fortress, good size, easy access, easy climb up. Parking is next to the restaurant and go up the stairs. After 6pm entrance is free and you get a once in a lifetime sunset. Open views all around, green and beautiful this time if year. Try to get there after its raining you might catch a glimpse if a rainbow! If you keep driving down the narrow road youll get to a small parking area where you can find some eco paths, easy to moderate. You can also begin your climb up to the fortress from that end, its a shoe horse shape. Check out Orlova Chucka Cave before or after, its amazing!
Easy access, best time to visit - sunset!
Beauty nature and history
Very interesting place with wonderful views.
Worthy for a visit. Very good place and well maintained for a free entertainment. It was cultural, administrative and military centre of Bulgaria between the 12th and 14th centuries.
Very nice fortress and nice suroundings. Beautiful and instagrammable place. Entrance 5 leva. Next to the "entrance" is a small bar where u can drink something. Toilet is 0.50 leva
Interesting place to visit. They have excavated only small part of the entire fortress but it looks impressive. Really liked the tsars stairway.
Superb, very nice view. (5 leva/person)and u have a terrace to eat or drink 😁
If you visit rusenski, you need to visit this
We had a very very informed and friendly guide who provided so much info. Beautiful environment and atmosphere,
Very interesting and historical place.
It has an amazing view and the cliffs are also quite a sight.
A wonderful site of heritage with information and in English
Theres a guy lurking at the bottom of the steps demanding money. I have no idea if he is official or not and anyway I had no cash money so I could not go in. Unpleasant.
Awesome for a walk around and there is many other walks around that will excite the naute lovers
A pleasant walk through the ruins of the old medieval town with good explanatory texts and photos. Great nature, too.
Great place to go. You will get a nice walk that feels like a workout, view a part of history and enjoy a great view.
Nice ancient place. They need to do more work, but is must to see place if you are in the area.
A wonder of nature and history, only disturbed by the song of the birds and flow of the river Lom in the deep valley. Theres a snack bar near the parcking where you can serve a steak with fries, salad and a beer.
Nice ruin where an aliance of 2 governments and the EU washed some money. Nothing spectacular, left for decay.
Very nice old fortress, quiet and peaceful area. Do not miss this if you travel nearby.
Incredible topography, history and ambience.
Fascinating place, worth the climb.
Its not entirely impressive. If you do decide to visit make sure to read up on the history, otherwise you might end un slightly underwhelmed.Be sure to bring cash because they dont take credit cards as form of payment. Also, everything is written in chirilic but Google translate comes in handy there.
Beautiful canyon views, clean and tidy.
The Cherven village alone is impressing by location, not to speak about the position of the fortress. There is a great history lesson to acknowledge about it. The fact that they preserved a wooden bridge over the canyon between the residential area and the castle area is a great plus for the tourists to better visualize the story of the past ages inhabitants. One of the best in-land places I have ever visited. Totally worth it!
A lovely place! Spare a couple of hours walking through the steep history of fortress .
This is an amazing place - both because of its historical significance and the natural beauty of its location. If you have the opportunity, it is a worthwhile trip.
Nice place to visit near Ruse; there are several stairs in order to get at the fortress on top of the rock. The entrance price is 4 leva and there is parking and toilet.
Nice place to visit. You have to climb some stairs to get to the ruins of the fortress. There is no guide. The price is 4 leva per person.
The best reserved fortress Ive seen - it is gorgeous with wonderful views!
