Chennai Spice - Indian restaurant in Lilongwe, Malawi
This is one of the best indian restaurants in Malawi. They specialize in South Indian food and they do it very well. It ranks up there with the best I have visited. The prices are very affordable and the menu choice is large catering for all from vegetarian and Vegan to meat lovers. The only drawback is the ambiance its very simple just a room with some chairs and a table so not very inspiring. Its all about eat and go period.I will definitely recommend this restaurant for great South Indian food.
The decor was a little outdated but the food was amazing. Everything we ordered was cooked and seasoned so well. The cheesy naan was delicious! And the curries were divine! The mocktails were really good too. Definitely a spot for great foodNote prices are vat exclusive*
Amazing little Indian restaurant in Lilongwe. Probably the best Indian food I have had in my travels. The food is rich and flavorful. They have a lot of great options and can vary the heat levels. Definitely a place worth checking out in Lilongwe!
My experience at Chennai Spice has always been truly an amazing. This location gets an A star from me in all the 7 Ps. I would probably consider not living anymore if this place shut down as the food here is something to live for on its own. Anyone who doesnt at least give it a try is missing out on fundamental experiences which life has to offer. From the bottom of my heart and stomach I ask you to give this place a try.
Best
authentic South Indian food
Someone recommended the food here, especially the Dosa. So I decided to give it a go.It is not to far located from town and has a fair amount of safe parking for cars. Prices were in similar range as other Indian restaurants in town.Staff and managers/owners were very friendly and welcoming. Food arrived quickly and was very tasty. I ordered the traditional Tamil lunch- vegetarian thali. My only complaint was most of the curries in the thali were cold and rice was warm, would have been much nicer if all the food was hot.I also ordered a Masala Chai....this was tasty but I prefer my sugar added when chai is being made not after but they did not ask ans cup was half full...think they should get special chai cups that are same size as portion. There was a lovely celebration of color in the garden with some guests. Nice music and fun to watch them celebrate. I will come back to try some of their other dishes
Such a yummy curry served with a huge smile from the very welcoming staff. We definitely will come back when we return to Lilingwe.
The best Indian restaurant in town. Best Mysore Dosa and Parata. Even price is reasonable compared to some other restaurants.
Amazing food and impeccable service, truly a wonderful spot in the city
Indian food from a different region than the other Indian restaurants in town. So the dishes are different. Good food. Helpful staff.
We really enjoyed our evening dinner at Chennai Spice. The food was great and the waiter was very friendly. We greatly appreciated that the cook really managed to give each meal the dose of spiciness we had ordered: mild for the kids and medium spicy the adults. We have been other restaurants where you place an order for mild or medium and when you get the meal there seems to be no difference between medium and spicy. Chennai spice was different. Our kids could eat their food without problem.
Great food

Authentic, fresh, delicious food. Will be back again and again!
Presently the best South Indian food in town.Try the Egg Dum Paratha too
I ordered butter chicken and naan, it was great, flavourful also ordered mutton Biryani (mutton is goat meat here not sheep!barely any meat, rice was bland to taste but sauce was good. The banana bhajia are an acquired taste though. Overall great...will go back try other stuff.
Best Indian food in Malawi. Try the Dosas its really something special.
