Really good chips but very rude service

Chips and fast food was good and very nice, easily probably be go to place to get some chips when in town for a cheap price.

Ok so $9 for a bit of blue cod, thats average price but what we received was the tiniest slither of cod in a massive surrounding of batter. Such a shame chens.

Very clean and presentable fish and chips shop. Burgers were very tasty

Always fast, cheap and tasty. A word of caution though. When ordering Nasi Goreng, an Indonesian spiced rice and various meat dish, be sure the server can hear you through safety divider and mask, as I was almost served Bami Goreng - same dish with noodles instead of rice. They have numbers (35), which I did specify. They were fast to cook a replacement to satisfy. Large meal serves me for 2 nights. Delicious!!

Chicken basicly raw fish takes like its out of a old can lemon chicken tastes like they just killed it and let it sit in mould. Rice clumpy with hair sweet and sour pork tastes like it has mold on it noodles are horrorble and it game me food poisoning thanks chens👍

We have been going to Chens Wok for a few years now. The fish is of good size, batter is excellent and chips are not bad. I do love their combination fried rice and my husband loves the combination chow mein. Real good Tucker. Owner/operators are great too.

Delicious fish, hotdogs and meat patties

Sweet and sour pork was unfortunately very dry and the sauce tasted almost like apricot sauce. And the fish in the burger was very thin and dry.

Always stop here on way through. Simple place with very good fish and chips. Havent yet tried the Chinese menu.

Enjoyed the two dishes we chose.

Overall was great but the combination fried rice was not like it used to be. It could be the soy sauce used, it was bloody like dark or black rice

Terrible phone order system as they dont take your name and rely on you remembering what your order was. Takeaways cold and theres a surcharge for paywave. Wont be going back.

Its very rare that I give such a low rating, especially when the staff are polite, but I ordered food from here earlier this week when passing through Oamaru and unfortunately when I parked up less than 5min later to eat my sweet n sour pork, I realised it was barely edible.The pork meat was dry & tough, to the point of the meat being stringy. The batter was overly crunchy, and the sauce had been obviously just poured over the dry pork pieces in the container (not even fully covering the foodwith some pineapple thrown in, not the usual (i.e. from other Chinese eateries around S.I.mix of sauce with veges & pineapple typically cooked in with the pork before serving.Unfortunately, this is by far the worst sweet n sour pork Ive had in a very long time. The staff were lovely during order & pick-up though.

Best fish n chips in oamaru! Burgers were average. Havent had the chinese. But if your looking for real nice potato chips, well cooked with fresh oil & drained, definitely the best. Chicken salt is free & the prices is great!

Very tasty and not greasy! Loved the chips, prawn twists and fish. The burger was underwhelming. Although it was only $8 & looked really tasty. I would have preferred to pay an extra few dollars to have home made meat patties. Not bought frozen ones. Thanks

Good egg Foo yoong and fried rice. I dont know about the rest, i never order them lol. Typical chinese takeaway, smell all the same to me, but I like the cleanliness of the place and quick turnaround. Can get busy on the weekends. Not enough parking because its on the main highway.
