Cenamos de maravilla, todo estaba riquísimo. Tomamos cataplana de almejas, cataplana de rape, lubina, lenguado y pez espada y todo nos gustó muchísimo! El sitio es pequeño, nosotros reservamos para asegurarnos el sitio😉

Un bon restaurant. C’est un peu long mais tout est fait maison donc on patiente et on apprécie d’autant plus son plat.101€ pour 5 avec entrée, plat et boissons.Je recommande !

Classic dishes cooked to absolute perfection in an intimate, no-frills setting. Expect a charmingly busy atmosphere where the staff shout orders over the sound of whatever happens to be playing on the TV that nobody is watching, while the people on the next table make foodgazmic noises - it’s a real foodie gem. The only downside of eating here is that thereafter every meal you have elsewhere will leave you feeling either unsatisfied, ripped-off, or both.

This is the best fish resturant you can eat at... havent been here for 3 year due to lockdown and it is still 5 star and a lovely family traditional food past on from grandad to grandchildren.... x

Aweful food, service ok but could not care less. We had the salmon that had been grilled to cardboard with potatoes that were just boiled…not sure why other people like this place

Very accomodating staff who managed to squeeze us in to a busy service. The food arrived quickly and was fantastic.

This place is a must if you are visiting Alvor. The food is absolutely fantastic, so tasty. We loved eating there. Very homely and lovely staff. Cant wait to go back for more monkfish cataplana.

A fantastic small restaurant with delicious grilled fish. Often very busy so book if you can. You will not be disappointed! We were delighted once again with our Golden Bream. Will be back for sure.

finally after recomendation from our friend we managed to visit Chefe JoaoOMG !!!!for the first time in restaurant I didnt have to add any seasoning either tofish soup or fish cataplana, all dishes were fairly priced and good size,house wine great as wellkids were happy as well,its Alvors brightest gem,see you again

Lovely grilled fish at very reasonable prices plus bottle of house wine for 7€. Not many seats and they don’t take credit cards - cash only.

Can I give them 6 stars? Best meal I have had at any restaurant. Unpretentious and cozy. I Loved watching Chef Joao prepare dishes at the front while enjoying our delicious salad and wine. Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Sure the guy doing the fish is grumpy, but the server made up for it...and the food!!!Wow!! Unfortunately, they closed for holidays right after my first visit...but I kept on walking by...hoping...

Chef Joao is a great traditional Portuguese chef, and Ana the waitress is so sorridente and friendly....A "Must" in Alvor 👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩

Excellent Portugese food and great service from Ana. Try the fish cataplana which is superb and all dishes reasonably priced. Only 20 covers so need to book in high season and only take cash.

This place does not look grand but it is good quality, unpretentious, great value casual dining with attentive service. A great evening meal with the family. Booking for any more than a table for two is recommended, even when we visited on a Monday night out of high season.

Great restaurant with top chef and 2 miracle/super woman in the kitchen. This wondefull combination of cheffs and Ana as the hostess in the restaurant is THE best. (reservation is needed)

Excellent restaurant and authentic Portuguese. Food and hospitality excellent. Chef cooks marvellous food on barbecue. Ana who greets and serves is also excellent. Will definitely go back when In Alvor next.

One of the most enjoyable evenings in our holidays. We had luck to find a place without reservation. The welcome was warm and friendly and the food was delicious - also the fish and also the meat and the dessert. Once there you have the feeling the people are not doing their job but living their passion.

The fish is to die for great value definitely one of the best meals we have had in alvor 3rd time there over five years never disappointed 😎

Firstly a lovely warm welcome and then the nicest food served. I enjoyed the Cataplana with Monkfush which was outstanding. My husband had the chops cooked to perfection. A great find tucked between two shops. We may be back.

The tuna steak I had was brilliant, and we had the best seats in the house sat next to the grill watching João (presumablydo the meats expertly.

Very small restaurant with great food cooked on an open internal barbeque.All fresh fish & meat - you are shown the fish before its taken to be cooked.Only about 18 seats inside & 8 outside....would recommend booking.We ate there 3 times and each time the other diners we all repeat visitors, some returning from previous holidays and were warmly greeted by the staff who remembered them.We will definitely go back on our return visit next year.

Good fresh fish

Simply Brilliant!A friend recommended this little gem when he heard that we where going to Alvor. We ended up eating there twice in one weeks holiday, had to book both times.Susanna the waitress who is great fun will show you the fish then Chefe Joao grills it coated in flavoured oils and citrus juices which then become the sauce. Can not fault food, service, or price and would highly recommend.

Chefe Joao, never disappoints. Food is always fresh and well cooked on the Barbecue. Suzane the waitress is a real character and loves to banter with the clients. Its a small restaurant with about a dozen tables so booking is essential.
