Cheeky Monkey Gastropub Valletta in Valletta

A really beautiful place where you can enjoy tasty food! Service is very good and the stuff is very nice!

I went there with a group of friends in the weekend. We had to try and grab the attention of the waiters as they were too busy to handle all the people there. Once the waiter finally took our order, the food arrived after nearly an hour, with the starters and main courses arriving simultaneously. Some of the food was missing so we had to wait another 10 minutes until the rest of the food arrived. The food was good, but the cocktails were extremly watered down. We left just before the happy hour, as the service was lacking. The waiters did their best, but I think they have too many tables to handle. Wont be going anywhere near again.

The local makes an appealing impression from the outside. However, the rest leaves a lot to be desired. I paid 14€ for risotto which came in a minimal portion. I didnt know whether to laugh or cry because there was no realization of the prize.

We usually go for a burger but this time we decided to take salmon; very disappointing indeed as the salmon portion was hardly found in the plate. Really not worth the money!!

Had the best little snack and beer here. Good atmosphere. Recommend. The food was lovely.

Food and drinks were good. Strong "expats and tourists only" vibe, which is to be expected.

You can try it out yourselves.. went for happy hour only.. I didnt try the entire menu.. no further comments..

The meet in our burgers had no taste at all (especially the chicken burger of my girlfriend seems to not have seen the salt at all). The fries were cold. For the price I’d expect much better. The personal was on the other hand very friendly.

I love this place. Great location. Wonderful food. The best raspberry ginger lemonade anywhere.

House Burger (Bun, paddy, cheese, no salat, no onions and bbq saucewas boring and not really warm. Frites were also just boring without any seasoning. Wings were also just average and flooded with too much marinade. Definitely not worth the monay. Staff was friendly though. There are definitely better places for food in town.

As part of any holiday we embark on, we like to track down the best pubs and bars selling craft beer both local and afar.Whilst day tripping in Valletta we found the Cheeky Monkey with ease. They had some decent European beers and some local beers which we tried both.We sat under a shaded seated area and enjoyed an hour out of the sun..Good service and good prices.

Interesting cocktails, some of their own creations were very nice. All the usual suspects on the menu aswell and most included in happy hour.

Best pub for drinks and nibbles in Valleta with one of the best personal i ever met. (And they have their own T-shirts)

They have a really good beer selection! 👌🏼The owner and the waitress were friendly and attentive. We stopped by to cool off with a cold beer and grab a little snack. We had a nice experience here and really appreciated the quality beer choices. The selection is way more extensive than most places we have been to on the island.

Good food! King Kong burger is a signature dish. Definitely should try it! BBQ ribs, chicken wings, fish and chips youll find them all here with a great selection of beers. The staff is friendly and attentive.Very nice and easy-going gastropub! Thank you!

Ordered two drinks within the Happy Hour (until 17:30at 17:28 but had to pay full price… although we took photos in that bar with time stamp to proof it.I don’t give a f* about 4€ difference but it’s simply not correct at all, so take care to avoid to get ripped off here. Drinks tasted like water BTW.

A modern, clean, comfortable bar. With a good location on Merchants Street and friendly staff, this is a good place to pause for a glass of something cold on a walk across Valletta

A unique and interesting place, definitely worth a visit. I loved their beer selection(especially the German beers), as well as their signature drinks.

Super friendly and fast service, refreshing lemonades and delicious cocktails 🍹 The food was also tasty - I‘d have wished for maybe a couple more vegetarian options.

Good food, but they kept bringing me refills on my coke a cola without me asking. Then charged me for each one. I spent 12.50 in cokes! For that reason I wont be back.

We stumbled across this place during our day trip to Valletta. To realise it was the same pub that we had visited in Qawra.The burgers were amazing, so thick and juicy with plenty of cheese.Washed down with a bottle of Belgian beer from one of my favourite breweries.Staff were welcoming and attentive.The decor was very funny and even the napkins were cheeky

Food and drinks took for ever to come. Staff said it was because there was only one cook. Restaurant was not full as you can see from the pictures. Food was not good, one of the sliders had jam in it??? Very disappointed. Few tables gave up and left because it took too long.

Good for a quick meal. The fanta was more water than fanta. Service is not the beat as well as we ordered a large still water and it never arrived but they still charged us for it (before we told them and they removed it from the bill).

We enjoyed the excellent food, drinks, and service.Allen ( the assistant manager served us and was extremely accommodating, friendly, answered our questions on things to do and see in Valletta, and made our experience there most comfortable.I recommend a visit to theCheeky Monkey to anyone, while in Valletta.

Good friendly service. We were waited on by Alan, who was cheerful, friendly and helpful. There were 3 of us and we ordered something to share and asked that the bacon be left out as 1 in our group was vegetarian and that was not a problem. We went back again the following afternoon.

The buggiba one is so much better . Unfortunatley alan the waiter came to take our order and was rude and condecending to the point that we asked for the bill and left especially until waiting for the main. We requested some nibbels and were advised that the kitchen is packed up and will take a very long time and while we appreciate the honesty just to get some nachos while we wait was not going to break the kitchen

Nice place, the staff is super friendly and they pay attention also to little details. We found the kitchen open at something like 5pm which was really good. We also took some burgers and they were really tasty.

Very good food in its category.We came here for a late lunch and enjoyed some beers, shared a nachos-focaccia-guacamole starter and for the main course we had a chicken filet burger and fish & chips.The food was good and priced correctly.

Ridiculously priced and terrible quality of food and drinks. Had a cocktail which had no hint of alcohol and the nachos were really plain. Not worthy of being called a Gastro pub.

Overpriced for what you get overall. The fries were good and the burgers were filling but the Cheeky Lemonades were €4.50 and were mostly ice, and the vegetarian burger had so little goats cheese I couldnt taste it at all.The bbq sauce on the Cheeky Triple burger wasnt great either, but nothing tasted bad. Seems like a good place to get drinks during Happy Hour but wouldnt come back for a meal.

Nice place. Quite cosy. The food was delicious. I had the shared platter. The cocktails were freshly made and delicious. Some unique cocktails I had never heard of before. Overall a very nice experience.

Cant really rate it a 4, its not a pub, its not really a restaurant, its not really a sports bar. Its a room that put 2 screens in and decided to serve food thats easy to make. Its ok here, I found it a little tricky to find somewhere to watch premier league footy before I arrived, but actually theres a few places around. The burger was ok, reasonable, the risotto was pretty nice - but a distinct lack of maltese beers, not particularly welcoming. Id go again to watch football (just for a beer and the footballbut not for the place itself

Nice and cosy pub with friendly waiters and delicious food. Very good quality and decent prices.Would give out 5 stars easily if the pirtions were a bit larger.

Visited the other night and had a fantastic experience, the drinks where well prepared, massive selection of Gins and Rums, the burgers where medium rare and super flavourful, would highly recommend visiting this spot If you get chance.

Great service and beers on tap... We had lunch. The Burrata salad was a amazing. The burger and fries really good, just a pity the burger patty was processed and cooked well done. Thats my only gripe tho and we will go back... Nice experience in Valletta.

A good pub showing sport on two screens, happy hour 2 for 1 drinks from 4 until 7. A lovely location for a sometimes quiet and other times packed drink. They offer free monkey nuts and one table has two swings to sit on. The food is very tasty and should have something to suit, and they also provide breakfast which again is tasty. Staff are friendly and the place is kept nice and clean. They do accept table reservations which if you want a guaranteed seat is advisable as it is often very busy.

It is nice place, the food is decent, cocktails very good, service good. Although still prefer the one in Qawra - much bigger with a terrace, sea view, more cocktails in the menu.

Cool craft beer place. Very modern, TV screens show sport. We ate sliders a d calamari and they were great. Service was on point and very helpful on the beer selections. Local beer tasters shown in picture.

Pure foodgasm.... One of the best burgers i have ever tasted! Super friendly and polite stuff! Very nicely decorated place with cute details to match its monkey name. A very nice gastropub that definitely needs a go!

We arrived here last week to get a few drinks and a quick bite to eat and had luckily arrived in time for happy hour! 4-7pm when selected cocktails are buy one get one free.I ordered mojitos and Pina coladas and my partner ordered a dissident which wasnt on offer and a pint of Guinness. The cocktails were delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive.We ordered chicken wings and the focaccia nachos with chili con carne which were delicious. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed lunch here! Value for money was very good, offering a good size portion of food and a (non-alcoholicdrink of your choice. The pasta dish was as described, the couscous salad not really as in the menu but still good. Can get rather loud, but overall comfortable, probably also good for a drink in the evening!

A good place with a great atmosphere. The food was great, waiters were friendly. They offer meal (a main food - wrap, for example and water/coffee/juicefor 6.5€, which is very good price.
