Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen in Huntsville

We had absolutely awful service! We sat at the bar and two people sat next to us. They had their steak dinners before we even had salads. We had to ask for our sodas after 10+ mins. When my salad arrived and was disgusting, that was the last straw. I asked for a manger, and after several minutes waiting, we left. Never again!

Cold dry meat(ribsand average food. Chedders staff was very good and they did invite me back to try their food again which we did. I wish I could give a better recommendation but there are a lot of good options in the area that have better food.

Food was great and our server was the best. Great experience.

In all honesty this place used to be a lot better the food options are a lot fewer and the food didnt taste bad but not great either in all honesty it was kind of bland and the atmosphere was not very inviting

My husband and I were out walking around today on 72 since my car was being serviced at the Honda dealership. We walked all the way down to Cheddars and decided to try it out for the first time.Prompt greeting and being seated as soon as we walked in, which was about 12:20pm on a Saturday. We were given a menu to look over. After about 3min we were greeted by the server, I believe her name was Tvionne Jackson, and she took our entire drink order and gave us a few more minutes to look over the menu. She checked on us a few times while we waited on the 2 drinks from the bar.After about 7-10min we were ready to order and we both ordered the chicken tender plate with fries and coleslaw. Our drinks arrived right after, Cheddars Painkiller and the Coconut Pineapple Mule. Omg, im not a big alcohol drinker (maybe 6 drinks a yearbut these drinks were SOOOO good. Whoever is bartending needs a raise cause they werent watery or bland. I would recommend not drizzling honey or whatever the sticky syrup was all over the side of the glass cause I wasnt too thrilled when I grabbed the glass and my hand was sticky.We were checked on a few times while waiting on the food. We only had to wait about 15min and our orders were brought out. The food was delicious. There was a good chicken to bring adding ratio and the portion overall was very generous. Neither of us could finish the full meal and needed to bring home leftovers. The food was hot, the order was correct, it wasnt bland, and it was so filling. We will be back for sure.Id like to give a shout out to our amazing server, Tvionne Jackson, for an outstanding experience and being very polite and pleasant.

Requested extra crispy fries but they werent even hot on arrival. However Ayanna covered for it with a piping hot batch of wonderful crispy fries. Hats off to an excellent server

We were very happy with our visit for lunch. Our food was good and the server was nice. The only downside was that my wife was disappointed with the greenbeans because they were prepared with sugar.

Place is just a fancy Applebees with inflated prices and mid teir food. Their birthday dessert was the weakest, blandest cookie in a paper bag. Friendly staff though.

I normaly have a wonderful time at this restaurant, and this time would have been yet another great experience if it werent for the piece of chicken I had in my meal. Aside from that I had a great meal. The wait staff was awesome, the service was speedy, and the prices were very good.The rubber chicken, not so much. I will go back to the restaurant, but I wont have the chicken and shrimp meal.

I had the chicken tenders, which were pretty good. The waitress was courteous and attentive to her tables. The food was plentiful and filling.

I have only been here a few times. The times I have gone though the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Great atmosphere. Depending on when you go, there could be quite a wait. It is worth it. Highly recommend.

This place was the epitome of chain restaurants. The usual assortment of wraps, sandwiches, burgers, etc. I tried the Buffalo chicken wrap, which was ok but hardly worth the crazy high price for chicken in a flour tortilla. The fries were totally soggy and greasy, maybe the fryer wasnt at the right temp or something. With the crazy amount of great restaurants around the area, it hardly seems worth it to go back or recommend this place.

Service was spectacular as always. My roommate and I eat here once or twice almost every week. It’s a good local place with a nice atmosphere with typically excellent service and friendly staff. Food is pretty good most days. At this particular visit Caiera made sure our food was cooked to perfection and checked in multiple times to ensure our visit was exceptional.

Our family of 5 usually comes here once a month and usually love it! We were so happy to come today and ended up wishing we didn’t. We never complain, but today we had to send our sides back because they were burnt and crunch and our steaks were way over cooked and potatoes weren’t cooked all the way. Our server brought our appetizers with no plates and drinks with no ice or straws and never brought our sauces and she barely said two words the entire time we were there. We probably won’t go back for awhile after this experience. We paid over $100 :(

They should of payed me to eat there because it was not worth the price for the food. My steak was cold and not cooked at all and I asked for a medium well. The fries were not even warm or hot and they didn’t even taste good with ketchup. McDonald’s fries taste better to be honest. Also when me and my wife walked in the host were on there phone and didn’t get a greeting from them when we walked in and from the moment we walked out. I thought I would of at least got a have a good night but no, so much for a “4” star restaurant. No wonder they don’t got 5 stars and they missing one star because that one star is the stars you see after you eat there nasty food. My wife threw up after not even 20 minutes later . Never again

Horrible customer service. I did online order pick up. I waited AFTER I got the text asking me to check in about 45mins for my food to be brought to me. I called to make sure I checked in via text and still had to wait. My food was cold and they forgot my croissants so I had to wait an additional 20mins. Never again.

The server was nice. We waited about 5 mins after being seated before she came. The food came out fast due to at the time it didn’t appear to be too busy. Our table wasn’t cleaned the best and my seat still had crumbs on it. The area we were sitting had an old mop water smell which wasn’t pleasant

I’ve been to a few different cheddars around the south and loved them, however this one in Huntsville was very disappointing. We asked for a booth since many appeared to be open and we were told all booths were closed however they were sitting people there. It would have been easier for us since we have a 2 year old and 1 year old.Our waiter continued to let our plates stack up on the table without offering to remove them since he never came back other than to drop off the food and hand us the bill.He checked back with us when it was time to give us the bill therefore we weren’t able to get refills and he was no where to be found. We asked other another waiter for refills or if he can get our waiter to get us refills and he never showed up. We went on a Thursday therefore it wasn’t busy.Definitely will not be going back there EVER. It just hurts to spend money where the service is terrible and when people don’t care.

Good food, okay service. There menu has a nice mix of items. They are a very versatile restaurant which i think is their best selling point.

Me and a friend came here on a Monday at 1pm. They didnt seem super busy but also everywhere is understaffed. I totally get that. The hostess showed no sign of being friendly. We decided to sit at the bar, we waited for almost 20 minutes for the bartender to finally come out of the kitchen and tell us shed be right with us. Granted she couldve been busy with other tables and the kitchen. I wait tables and bartend for a living so I get it. She didnt smile or make us feel welcomed at all. Our spinach dip came out half cold? So that was fun. Then when our food finally did come out the burger wasnt that great and the fries absolutely sucked and had zero seasoning. My friend didnt like her food which Ive had that happen and blamed it on myself but our bartender didnt question if our food was alright or not or offer to fix anything. 0 outta 10 do not reccomend. Wont be back.

The only redeemable thing about our visit was the lovely fish tank behind the bar. Service was absolutely horrible and we waited 15 minutes to even be acknowledged at the bar. I work in the service industry too so I’m well aware we’re in a nationwide labor shortage, but what we experienced was unacceptable. There were dirty dishes everywhere and many things that violated health code laws and servsafe policies. The food was cold and bland, the servers seemed like they hated being there, it was just overall a horrible experience that left me extremely unsatisfied and frankly upset.

They seemed busy when we first got there because we had to wait about 45 minutes to get seated. Once we got seated the waitress was very kind and jovial and very nice to us. But after that it went downhill we had to wait at least an hour or more just to get our food and then when we did get our food and one order wasn’t correct one order was cold and one order was the steak and shrimp and broccoli the broccoli was cold the steak was not done correctly. It was just not a good experience and I will not be going back there.Total thumbs down

Love the food, but it’s not worth the risk. Fight broke out in the dining area as my date and I were waiting to be seated, suddenly about ten to fifteen of us were running for the parking lot.Kudos to the hostess, who maybe weighs a buck soaking wet, but went to handle things anyway.Like I said, the food is good, but I don’t care for the floor show. Not going back.

I sat at the bar. Very good food (chicken fried chicken w/ mash taters/gravy & corn). The hot fudge chocolate cake sundae was amazing!

Server was friendly. Bar area was not clean. Great start with a fresh drink and hot bowl of soup. Food came out in less than 3 minutes which normally would be good, but food not hot and tasted as if it had been sitting around

They have the best side salads but I always find mystery items in my pasta. The first time it was a hard French fry cooked in. This time I found chips. It’s ridiculous.

We visited on a Friday during lunch. The parking lot was only half full and upon entering we saw that the restaurant was mostly empty. We waited 15 minutes to be seated. The tables around the one we were seated were dirty and covered with dishes. After being seated we waited 10 minutes and no server showed up so we elected to leave. Theres definitely not enough staff to run this place effeciently if at all.

We thought we would have a wait because the parking lot was full and it was Friday night, but surprisingly we were seated immediately. We had a great server, very nice and fast.They no longer have their onion rings but the cheese fries are dangerously good. Unfortunately, like everyone else, they have had to increase their prices, but the quality of the food and the amount you get, is still very much worth it. The honey butter croissants are like a little fluffy cloud straight from heaven! The ABSOLUTE ONLY complaint any of us had is that the green beans and rice were sweet. I think they use the honey butter to season everything. The corn off the cob is very good, also.

We were at this location tonight, sat there for over 20 minutes and no one said anything to us. No updates, no drink or appetizer orders….nothing. Finally, I talked to the hostess and informed her of our wait. Then, 5 more minutes went by and still nothing. At that point we got up and left. On the way out, 3-4 staff members were at the entrance/exit, none of which said anything to us. No one said have a good night or any other positive comments. All members let us walk out without saying a word. On the positive side, we were seated right away. We have a large family and will NEVER come to this location again!!! When this happened, it was just myself and my wife…..2 people to completely clear.

Well I loved Cheddars up in Rockford IL and cried when they closed. Saw that there was one here and I got so excited!!! Much to my surprise service and food were slow and our order was wrong. We ordered the steak medium rare and mine was a little burned (not charredon one side and hardly flame kissed on the other. It was chewy and dry too. My mothers was still blue on the inside. They do not have the twice baked potato on the menu. The broccoli and cheese casserole was just cheese rice and broccoli. It really needed to cook a bit longer to develop flavor. Also my Mother ordered her steak with coconut shrimp and they brought out spicy grilled shrimp. The ribs I ordered with my steak were yummy so I do recommend those. We ordered the strawberry sweet tart drink to take the glass home and no mention of rinsing them out or even giving us a bag for all the take home. I also didnt get my salad. It was a big let down for me. We will not go back. Comparing the price of food and the service (sat for 15min before waiter came to tale our drink orders and say Hiwe received it just cost too much for the 1.5hr drive to get there.

Ah man this Chaddars was fantastic. My lady and I took a day trip to Huntsville Alabama and stopped here to eat. The wait was about 45 minutes. While looking over the menu I decided to go with the Dijon chicken with mushrooms on a bed of rice. I wasnt feeling like rice so I asked if the could do noodles for the bedding and the manager approved it. My Lord it was FANTASTIC. The two chicken breast was so big I had to get a to go box for one of them. The restroom was clean, the restaurant was clean and staff was constantly cleaning and vacuuming. My waitress was supper nice and kept up with fresh refills.

Had some fantastic CROISSANTS. Also a delicious cake that they assured me was big enough to share with 4 people, but I refused to share it with anyone else in the restaurant. IT WAS MY CAKE. Steak and potatoes with broccoli was phenomenal as well. 5/5 would hog cake again.

The experience here is lacking. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with terrible customer service. We have a non attentive server who had let plates pile up and hasn’t been to serve us in 30 minutes. On top of that I’m pretty sure my steak is still mooing.

Where do I begin… from the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with negative service. In the spirit of second chances, we decided to order food… that was a mistake. Ordered a steak “medium” and came out very rare and cold. I tried a side of broccoli casserole and immediately felt sick. The food was rotten, expired, and disgusting! Our server was untrained and rude. He served our salads with his thumb in the dressing, and he used his hands to squeeze the lemon in my water. Who does this? A health inspector needs to visit here and escalate this situation.

My dinner was great, but not the dessert. The cake wasnt fresh, there was too much whip cream and nuts.

The Service was very Good as well as the Food. My beverage was Amazing. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised because I have not been here in a few months.

Had the grilled salmon with red beans and rice with country green beans. the salmon was great, the red beans and ricenwas deceiving. If you are expecting a New Orleans style, its not. The only seasoning they had was my least favorite(salt). Green beans were reminiscent of my Grandmothers when she used to cook them with some pork. The wait staff was friendly,atmosphere was really good,not a long wait time for a table. Overall a really good dining experience.

Steak, fried coconut shrimp loaded baked potato & broccoli and cheese casserole was delicious and we also had a Wonderful male waiter we definitely be coming back again

This is a great place to try out if you have a weekend to spare. Though it can also become quite crowded on the weekend with waits sometime going above 40 mins (sometimes but not alwaysit can still be worth it. The staff is kind and do their best to make sure you are taken care of. Yet again on a crowded day it can take them some time to get back around to your table, specifically for a smaller party so make sure you try to get everything you need from them the first time before they head off. The food is great and leaves you wanting more, although some menu items tend to leave from time to time (one time the reason given was if it does not sell a lot they will remove it at that location). The prices are fair also *usually around 14-20* for the better dishes, though it would not be a place I would eat at every week but maybe once or twice a month.

Looks are deceiving.Food looks great right? It wasnt. It was cold, the waiter was rude, and the toast was rock hard and cold also. Would not replace the plate only reheat it which took all the flavor out of it. The table was filthy and was not cleaned before sitting me. The broccoli casserole was good though.

Very disappointed I ordered the pasta not enough sauce on it And to make it even worse I ordered a hot Chocolate Fudge Sunday the cake was still Is frozen very disappointed The mixed drink was the best part of the meal

I honestly love cheddars. It’s my fav restaurant in Huntsville. Every time family visits I bring them here. Lol. The food is great and the atmosphere is beautiful. They have a nice fish tank and these big beautiful fan looking things in the main room ceiling. Could have nicer hosts but the food def makes up for it!

Shout out to our server Tajianna for the awesome service we received. Our glasses were always full without asking. She always stopped by to check on us. The food was on time and best of all delicious! What an great experience there.

Very reasonable in price. The waiter was a total pleasure. My house salad was fresh and crisp. The country fried chicken was good not great.

Mannnnn my cousin has been raving about Cheddars and i had to try it out. The salmon was blackened and juicy. They have these buttered croissants that i feel like im going to go back and order by the dozen! And the bartender was friendly and attentive and made a beautiful, tasty painkiller drink! First time.. not my last!

The service was lower than our expectations. Only attentive when its check out time. The food was alright, not on par with the price.

Came here to eat with my fiancé before he had to work.Lindsay promptly got our drinks and took our order. We ordered a ribeye steak and chicken tender dinner.The steak came out just a little too rare, and we sent it back to have it cooked more. Part of the thicker end of the steak still wasn’t really cooked well enough but the manager removed the steak from our tab without us even asking; great customer service.The atmosphere is nice, for families or couples. Will return to this location!

I have a love / hate relationship with Cheddars Scratch Kitchen. The food is really amazing. Ive NEVER had a bad meal here! The building is nicely architectured, the kids love the fish aquarium, and theres plenty of room and seating. The issues Ive experienced were around cleanliness and service. To be honest if the food werent so affordable and delicious I probably wouldnt go here. The restrooms are generally in disarray and nasty, Ive had some awful experiences with them (especially with the little ones needing to do #2). The food can (emphasis on cantake forever to come. We once waited forever for dessert because they kept telling us it was about to come and never did until about a full hour later. Overall the food is generally worth it. I love the chicken tender platter and my wife gets the Philly Cheesteak. Today I ordered the country fried steak and it was good too. The portions are great as well. Their croissant bread appetizer is well worth it. Today we spent about $40 with a family of 4 (including drinks and kids meals). Today the bathrooms were not too bad and food was prompt(ish). Overall its great just know the food can (usuallybe worth dealing with the rest.

Our server was phenomenal! I cant remember her name, but she was very attentive and friendly.However, the food was a big letdown. We have a Cheddars in Georgia, and the food just did not compare. I was raving to my boyfriend about this place and since we were passing by, I figured we could give it a shot. He thought the food was just "okay." I thought so too. What a huge disappointment. Rating 3 stars only because our server was great!
