Good place to visit. Long and huge reclining Buddha statue. Many smaller statues with different Buddha positions. Unfortunately I visited during maintenance of the statue when it was completely covered with wooden frames. So have a look at the rare pictures.

A giant contemporary, laying Buddha out of central Yangon. Barely any tourists as you can pretty much only get here by car. Impressive site but the protective structure obscures the view of the Buddha itself

I really loved this place as they did not charge us entry fee even though we were foreigners, as all other pagodas charge entry fee from foreigners

One of the best reclining buddha temples that I have seen. there are Monday to Sunday buddha that buddhists can bathe them according to their own day of birth. There are nice little buddha statues at the back that my mom spent time to bathe them one by one😳👍

Very impressive. For those curious to know about Buddhism, it offers lots of text to read through as you walk through the Pagoda. The reclining figure of Buddha is 66 meters in length.

Amazingly large statue of Buddha laying down. Observation platform by Buddhas feet so you can see the statue from a different perspective. Must see location.

Large scale lounging Buddha in central Yangon. Much larger than the one in Bangkok. Easy taxi ride away from downtown Yangon. Worth a visit during your stay. Only taxes about 20 minutes to tour the whole Pagoda. There are other cultural sites nearby as well that you can string together to make an afternoon of it.

A must visit if you are in Yangon. A very beautiful and serene place. Got many insights about buddhas life. It has largest reclining buddha statue. This place also have couple of souvenir shops in front campus. There is no entry fees.

Our first stop after we arrived at Yangon airport. No entrance fee, but it cost us 1,000 kyat (over the counter feeto have our shoes store and 7,000 kyat for (2set of flowers for prayer offering.

The Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, a hugely ,beautiful reclining Pagoda in Yangon is known for its enormous 65 meters longs is a place that recommended to visit for pray.it’s so impressive temple.

Very beautiful reclining Buddha. Not too crowded. But still under renovation! Its my 2nd time to this temple though.

I really liked this pagoda ad it was the first time I head ever been inside the dome. Inside the dome were many places where people could meditate. There were also some very good explanations about the construction of the temple and what every party of the temple meant. There was also a very large diamond on display which goes at the top of the spire

Besides the massive reclining Buddha... Ive never seen such a great pictorial timeline about His life. The descriptions are in English too! Another must stop attraction in Yangon.

That reclining buddha is really marvelous. This temple was the first place I visited after landing in Burma and i was totally in awe of this temple and the Buddha.

Beautiful space. Easily accessible.Reminder for westerners, it is a temple and so there are certain dress requirements.The Buddha is huge. Much bigger than I expected.There is a raised viewing platform to see a different perspective.It does get quite hot, so morning might be better

Been there after sunset...very calm and quit atmosphere with a nice brise to relax after walking through the busy streets of Yangon.The Bug Buddha statue is amazingly well done - from head to feet. Absolutely worth going.

Peaceful place to worship and to meditate.Sometimes,you can see some Myanmar traditional ceremornies.Most foreign visitors I seen were from Thailand .There is also a wide and clean public toilet a little walk from there.I love this cool and peaceful place.

A reclining Buddha with a benign and compassion expression that is captivating. Ornate headgear. Detailed depiction of the divine marks on the feet. Multiple statues of Buddha in various poses, each of great significance. A series of wall paintings describe the life of Buddha,along with write ups on each event.

Be carefully if you enter from the back side!!. We entered the temple from the back side which is quite different. A man trying to ‘help us’ led us to a ‘monk’ who wanted us to go inside this dark house and kept telling us that the entrance was in his ‘dark place’. Also was asking to leave our shoes with him, DONT FALL FOR THIS. There is stairs on the left so just ignore them. Also don’t leave your stuff with other people. Beautiful place

This is our first stop on the first day in Yangon. Seeing around inside the pagoda and feel so relaxed, there are also souvenir shops outside the pagoda. Spend 15-30 minutes here to absorb the enlightment.

A temple that houses a massive reclining buddha statue. The statue itself is 66 meters long and is a wonder to behold. However at the time of writing this review, the statue was covered in scaffolding as renovation was in progress.

I think this is the third biggest reclining Buddha in the world.Currently it is being renovated. Worth a wait (if you are able to do sountil this is completed before visiting.

If you think the Shwedagon Pagoda is too crowded, this "Chauk Htat Kyi Pagoda" or "Reclining Buddha" will be different for you. Although there is no long staircase to walk here, this Pagoda has a spacious car parking with peaceful green environment.Being the biggest reclining Buddha statue in Myanmar, the statue is currently under renovation.Its a great place to spend some of your time to enchant and offer your prayers.P.S: I saw some of the reviews mentioning this Reclining Buddha as "female Buddha". That is NOT TRUE, guys. There is such a thing like female Buddha although Im not sure if the word "female" has different usage here. Literally, Buddha was under "male" category.

Stunning reclining Buddha statue inside a large sheltered building. This is not much crowded as other famous pagodas in Yangon. No entrance fee (as I was not charge for entering the premises). The day I went, statue was re painting. Hence I couldnt see the real view of the Buddha statue. This is a must visit in Yangon located in shwegondine road.

What an amazing Reclining Buddha... Unfortunately it is having restoration work done to it so will be amazing when its completed in a few months. Some other great Buddhas to see and well worth the trip to it when you are in Yangon

Under construction during this period Jun-2018.It’s a giant Buddha lying there absolutely bigger than Buddha in Thailand.Do acknowledge that there will be “one local tour guide “ that he would led you to show you around the temple that he is the owner of that Mental School. He will ask for donation for his uncles and the school and himself.He is actually nice but just ask for donation and he love to share information with you.

It’s a must to see while you are in Yangon. It’s beautiful and the reclining Buddha inside the temple really deserves a visit! It’s not crowded and try to dress modestly. Cover your shoulders and legs! Try to respect this sacred place and enjoy the beautiful feet with many meanings and stroll around and be amazed by different Buddha hands posing!

Main attraction is the Giant buddha statue in the middle. Surrounded by small statues all around the place. I didnt hire a guide but would be nice to have one around if you really want to know more of the history.

Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda aka Chauk Htat Gyi Pagodais famed for the enormous 65-meter long sleeping Buddha, one of the largest in Myanmar. What impresses me is also the 108 distinguishing marks on both the Buddhas soles of and the explanations in English. It was indeed a good learning experience.

The huge female buddha ive ever seen. If youre in yangon you have to going here. Near from swedagon pagoda, so you can visit 2 places in one day. Free admision, you have take off your shoes when entering...Some shops available in here.

Very long reclining Buddha. Eyes are made of glass as they are so shiny, very nice. Not so many tourists. Note : Must pay for mobile phone camera entry.Worth a visit!

The size of this female Buddah is amazing. You can take photos from a high platform in located at the feet of the Buddah. You can also see the artist working on the high chairs. Note the different stages of making the chair too much labour goes into this work. There are alot of dogs and cats around but the place is clean. Worth a visit. No entry fees but donation is welcomed

One of the most beautiful attractions in Yangon although it is not as well known as reclining Buddhas in other cities. Well worth a visit especially during the week when it is quiet and is a very relaxing place just to hang out. It is also free to visit
