Château de Sainte-Suzanne - Castle in Le Mans, France
Brilliant old Chateau ruins that you can go inside and there are metal walkways all the way to the top and even one that goes outside the walls so you stand with the most amazing views. There are even little rooms within the walls you can go in, get your torch on your camera out as they are unlit, amazing views from the top. Fantastic grounds. No dogs allowed though.
Small but very picturesque village with lovely views from the castle and quaint restaurants
Lovely place to visit. Nice village
Small Town beautiful, many houses around here built by stone had age more than 300 years up, very peacfuly place, should come to visit one time in your life.
Its my first village of arrival in France. I was well hosted in the VVF of Saint Suzanne in January 2016. Its one of the best villages in France. Saint Suzanne is part of my history.
Lovely French village, nice food and drink, very picturesque, enjoyable stay.
Nice place
FREE! Free parking and entry. Good toilets where we parked. My wife now carries around some soap in a little bottle.Get a map from the tourist office, not obvious but the best thing to do, so many tourist wandering around not sure where to go and missing some places. No information in English that we could find.We spent an hour and a half wandering around. Too hot to do the long river walk but did drive five minutes to the viewing point, which has a big free car park. Sat in the shade undisturbed looking across the valley back to the castle.I cant say this pace blew me away with its authenticity or made my spine tingle because it put me in touch with history. But if you are within a 45 minute drive its probably worth a visit.
Unspoilt and understated historical monument
Great chateau with self guided exploration nice village to walk round
Beautiful town nice friendly people recommended to visit for all ages
Interesting old village to have a walk around. Worth a visit
Lovely village with medieval quarter and stunning views. Recommended visit.
Absolutely stunning!
What a quaint lovely place, really enjoyed the visit you can also have a English tour of the castle, we also had a lovely meal at the 1st restaurant as you enter the town, great quality/service and price. Will go again if anywhere near.
Beautiful place, BUT, I visited on a freezing cold day in April, nothing open, not able to linger over coffee or lunch, no shops to take brief respite from wind. I found a sheltered spot from wind by chateau and got asked move as they were about to close for 3 hrs. Such a shame. There were walkers, a few other tourists, school group and Im sure it could be a destination if people knew there was a warm welcome. But the view point to see it was a bluebell wood and pretty though 🥶.
Very pretty! Really enjoyed the little village within the walls. Very unique!
Very nice medieval village with quite a few walking circuits that allow to discover the natural surroundings.
Lovely French Town. Great food and friendly people.
Stunning, typical French village with its castle and narrow side streets, absolutely beautiful
Walk around and admire the views! Fab ruins. Great village. A must see.
Lovely place to visit.
Lovely place in gorgeous countryside. Quite with nice little shops and patisserie. I never realised how flat France really is!
A beautiful village, well worth a detour n
A beautiful city to visit!
Lovely little village well worth a look.
Pretty amazing view for mid September. :Lots of history and a stunning little village in France. Well worth a visit.Plenty of parking and some places to eat and drink open most of the day.
Medieval chateau in a stunning village. 11th century church, Artisan shops and lovely restaurants
Free to enter castle (think its normally paid entry - not sure why it was freewith good explanations in English. The climb to the top of the keep was interesting and gave good views.Paid entry (€4 u18 freeto the large multimedia exhibit on history, geology, flora, fauna and prehistory of the area. Again in English as well as French and ok for kids.
Sympathetically restored medieval village. Beautiful to spend time in.
Such a beautiful little town
A charming, delightful village with a historic Château - with well presented historical information - cafés, gift shops etc.
Beautiful place to visit and stunning views.
Beautiful village and interesting museum at the chateau
Fabulous views. Lovely flowers and scent.
Not really for me. It could definitely be for you, but I felt like... hmmm.... its tough to explain. It felt very fancy...but like I was getting nickle and dime for all the small things. The breakfast was good. Not worth the price in my opinion, but it was nice to stay near the Chateau. The Chateau was kind of interesting.
Impressive castle. Good that parts are being restored. Gives an impression of mediaval times.
Just a stunning village
Well presented and peaceful place to visit off-season. Good bakery near central car park to get baguette for a picnic. Beware that the castle shuts for lunch out of peak season, youll be asked to leave castle grounds.
Nice view of countryside. Pleasant hike around castle. The castle is more like a ruin. The village is cute
Beautiful little town . Very interesting with lovely walks.
Free entry, you still need a ticket to get in.
Simply stunning! Visit you wont be disappointed.
Sainte-Suzanne is a beautiful place to visit, especially in the summer, lots of places to eat then as the restaurants appear to be seasonal.
Amazing place ! Very beautiful. The village is labeled among the most beautiful villages in France and it deserves it :)
Beautiful location and stunning views. Was drizzling when we visited but was still an amazing place to visit. The chateau is well worth a visit too.
Great off the main road attraction that is free
Brilliant museum with lots of interactive exhibits really interesting and instructive for the grandchildren. We all loved it.
