Lavish jade and gold interiors with plush mezzanine level, for Thai fine dining.
Booked for 6 members of my family on 6th March. Upon taking the drinks orders the waitress appeared unfriendly, uninterested and unhelpful. She didnt help with information on the beers and was quite curt. Starters poor. Tasteless spring rolls. Fishcakes did not look nor taste like fishcakes. They were of dense consistency inside, rubbery and tasteless. We received 4 out of 6 mains and waited for approx 6-8 mins before the other 2 arrived. No-one came to our table to apologise or explain how long the other 2 meals would take. The others all waited for the 2 remaining meals. By the time they arrived the other meals were obviously not as hot as they should have been. No-one apologised or offered to warm the other dishes or asked if we were happy. I find this very poor service. Then towards the end of the evening I asked for a glass of wine. This suddenly appeared on my table when I looked to my left. The waitress had brought it to me but had not made any effort to give it to me - just plonked it on the table to the left. This waitress made me feel as if we were a nuisance being there. The meals were OK but I think quality and quantity poor. Furthermore, on the google description stating this restaurant is fine dining.... please! this is not!! Fine dining also includes fine service which this is not. Fine dining is Panoramic 34 not Chaophraya! On Sunday we visited a cafe bar on the docks - the service and attention we got was far superior. Wont be coming again.
Food is fine. But the service is terrible. There was a waitress being very rude to us when serving food. She kept waving her hand over my plate and impatiently asked me to move my phone away. And she directly put my friend’s food in front of me without even asking who ordered it. I asked her what the dishes was cuz I didn’t ordered it for THREE TIMES then she replied me 😃 An unbelievable experience in a restaurant at such a price
This place is amazing, food is fantastic so tasty. Staff are very good helpful and attentive. The decor and atmosphere is top class, looking for a special meal in liverpool this is definitely the place.
Dinner 18/01/2020Food: 6/10Service: 4/10Atmosphere: 3/10Food-Fish cakes: more like fish balls.Pineapple fried rice: edible.Pork belly with Thai basil: pork could be crispier, felt very wetService -Unattentive waitresses, forgot to take our soup order. Served wrong drinks. Hard to get their attention.Atmosphere-Loud restaurant acoustic. Very close table proximity, if you sit too far from your table, youll be bumping into the table behind you.Only tables worth getting are the private dining tables which seats 8+ pax.
Great quality food, but lamb curry £16 and only 2 pieces of lamb and have to buy the rice separately at £3+ too pricey!!
Amazing. Staff were polite and nice friendly. Atmosphere was cozy, decor was nice. Food arrived on time and was tasty. Every dish was an adventure.
Food is average, posh environment. But unbelievable poor service. Sitting in the hall, waving for least 30mins, no waiters ever come during the time.
Beautiful interior decor. Great food, albeit somewhat more spicy than in any Thai Ive ever visited. Not far from Albert Docks and shopping centre. No parking, though.
Waited 30mins for a table (acceptableand then an additional 40+ mins just for the started to arrive!! What’s worse was that the starters were well below standards, we are regulars at the Manchester branch so we know what high standards the food comes at, the fish cakes were still swimming in oil...We heard other customers complaining about how long they were waiting for their food orders, sadly we had other plans so cancelled our main dish. We did not even get an apology of anyone which really was the icing on the cake! We paid the bill and left whilst promising never to go there again!!
Take Thai food, murder it by sweetening it a lot and here you go! Everything tasted so sweet for no good reason. And dont try the Thai tacos, because they dont seem to know the difference between tacos and tortillas. Left very disappointed. Only saving grace was the ambience
Excellent food, big portions and very authentic. The atmosphere is cosy, elegant and simply fantastic. Nice decoration. Absolutely recommendable!
The food is great. But I wont be going again. Its not the place to go for a meal if you are hungry! Portions are very disappointingly tinyShame as otherwise everything is fine.
We had the noodles with seafood and it was very disappointing. Big chunks of veg, not a great deal of sea food. Could have done better myself. Nice venue though.
Delicious food and great service.
Went Friday 8th June 4 of us. Really really disappointed. Have been to different ones in Manchester. Edinburgh. Glasgow and have never put a bad review on. But this time it was absolutely terrible. Cold tuff cheap cuts of meats. Dont think we will be going again 😡😡
Lovely staff. Food delicious. Parking in the Liverpool One Qpark. Situated in the Liverpool One shopping centre.
I think we were unlucky to go at the same time as a family with a baby, whos screaming was like a car alarm. I reckon someone could market that sound as I could not ignore it.The food was excellent as you would expect for the prices. The service was excellent and we left with our bellies stuffed and our wallets emptied. I made my daughter pay for her three cocktails she and her friend had. £33 quid for 3 drinks is never going to sit easy with me, although the girls did a runner to the cinema before coughing up and my wife paid for her. All in all it was a nice meal.
Filled my Thai craving perfectly. Lovely welcome, nice decor and views. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious.Would definitely come againขอบคุณมาก ครับ
Visited as part of our friends hen do where we’d all travelled from across the country to be there. Paid a lot of money for the ‘banquet’ (in fact for the price we price we paid for 21 of us we’d have been better off going to Thailand). Our visit was really disappointing. The service was very slow - we struggled to get water to the table and the staff seemed annoyed that we’d even asked. Dishes came out one at a time - when serving 21 people that meant everything was cold. The food itself was very poor quality, the chicken was processed and flavourless, ‘pork’ was just fat and worst of all there was hardly any of it which was outrageous given the price we’d paid per head. We had one bowl of rice between 4!There are a few fish tanks and some jazzy lights if that’s what you’re in to, but overall this place is just smoke and mirrors - don’t waste your money.
Food was good and well presented. Atmosphere and dining experience was great! Interesting water feature (aquariumin toilets.
The food is amazing. The atmosphere is very elegant and intimate. The decorations and restaurant design are very nice as well. The staff is very kind. It was the perfect Valentines dinner before going to watch a russian ballet at the theatre.
The food was so horrible. Taste nothing like Thai food.Their fish cakes taste worse than something you can get from cheap frozen stores.Pad thai was a joke! How can anyone rate this restaurant more than 1 star. I am asian so have some idea of what thai food should taste like. Very disappointed.
Excellent surroundings, nice and peaceful with large water feature full of koe carp, food was served in a timely fashion and staff were attentive but not all over you !! Sharing platter to start was very nice , and main meal very nice all freshly cooked in view of all customers? Had dessert which was very good and best of all it 50% off you bill at this time so bill was half price 3 course meal for two in top city restaurant with soft drinks under £35, Excellent value , great helpful staff ,present surroundings and great food , even at full price would be good value !!
Booked a Table for 5 Last Wednesday Night based on good feedback from some colleagues who had been here before.Unfortunately on the night the Service was terrible, taking 45 minutes to get drinks to our table, another half hour later our starters arrived. We waited another 45 minutes, still no mains so we asked where it was, and it turns out nobody could give us an ETA, therefore we left the restaurant to have Main Meals elsewhere. Will not try again.
Nice interior, staff a little unengaged, meny came quick, no smile, tired? Early in the evening, not many guests, chicken green very good curry, £12,95, okey price, but a small bowl with rice, not included, cost £3,45 = overpriced, too much, rice must cheaper.
Good value lunch menu
Amazing quality food recommend the veggie sharing board. Brilliant menu plenty of options to choose from. Staff couldnt be more welcoming and friendly. Definitely be visiting again.
Went here with my good lady last night. Hadnt booked but were seated quickly. Nice atmosphere and I must say the food was delicious - extremely flavoursome. We found the service polite and friendly but a little on the slow side - hence the 4 stars. 20 minute wait for the starters, and then another half hour before the mains. Otherwise, would recommend without hesitation.
Just over all not great. Ive visited before and had a great time and I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday thinking we would have the same experience. I had emailed before making the booking and was told there was plenty of vegan options but when I arrived not only did there servers not seem to know the menu to provide the options but there was a very small amount of choice compared to what I had been offered. We had to wait a long time to get our drinks and had to ask 4 times just to get a glass of water. Once our food did actually arrive no one checked on us at any point. We were never offered any more drinks and the food was quite dissapointing. We were also never offered a desert menu of any kind. There was also a loud and roudy batchelorette party making a lot of noise and being obnoxious. I feel this is something that we should have been made aware of. Overall I was very disappointed with there service, attitude, food and atemosphere compared to other times I have been here.
Food is absolutely delicious and the customer service is superb. The decor of the restaurant is great, the floating pond in particular. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area. Your receipt also gets you 25% off your drinks in the connected bar - bonus!
Super nice staff. Free surprised Birthday celebration service! The pineapple rice is a hidden menu but definitely need to try!
Excellent food, very very tasty. Quick service and very courteous. Best Thai food Ive had in a while. Will definitely come again.
i absolutley loved this place! chaophraya have a very easy online booking service which enables you to give a set time which suits your needs, maximum is 10:00pm on a evening which was perfect for us has we had been to see war horse at the theatre. ordered a bottle of champagne to the table and it was all ready waiting for us when we got there, we were fortunate to be served by a lovely waitress who had served us in the past, she was very polite and nothing was to much trouble. they have a private dining area which looks fantastic to eat in and seems very traditional. amazing pad thai!
Interesting decor, relaxed atmosphere. Tasty, well presented food...fairly expensive. Only down side when we visited for the first time 10.2.18 in the evening there was a really rude female member of staff that greeted us at the door. She had a really bad attitude both when we arrived and left, to the point that it put a bit downer on the night! Other staff however were great 👍
Very good food, though I had the impression some of the dishes were not as spicy as they should be.I do have some criticism toward the service: We reserved by stating that we would be there around 7:30 - 7:45, and we arrived slightly past that time window. This caused us to be welcomed by a snide remark about this. I can understand this if the restaurant would be completely full, but it was in fact not busy at all.Secondly, the waiters were a bit too keen on having us order drinks. Our glasses were not even empty when they started asking us if we wanted more drinks, and from that point onward we were asked this question every five minutes. Drinks are usually the product that restaurants get most profit from, so the personnel gets trained to push this. In this case they were overdoing that, and I perceived it as rude.
Wow my favourite Thai restaurant, awesome food and a great atmosphere and very friendly service.
Mediocre food at absurd prices. The food would be passable at a road side diner but is not worth £70 for a two course meal with wine. Staff are ambivalent at best, avoid if possible
Fantastic. Food was beautiful, well presented and very tasty. The service was excellent and the staff very helpful. The timing between each course was perfect. The place itself was clean and tidy with a comfortable atmosphere. I would recommend a night out here with a group of friends or a more intimate night with your other half.
One of the best restaurants in Liverpool. Amazing asian food and great customer service.
Beautiful tables ( had the round ones with gorgeous chandeliers aboveloved the service and the authentic way we were served. Now down to the banquet £35.50 pp for the Christmas banquet, food was lukewarm at best, obviously been under warmers for a period of time as they were dry on top, not a lot of choice on the banquet and taste .... not wonderful. We werent allowed the alacarte as there was 16 of us. Would I have the banquet again ? Think thats a definite NO. Took family here as Ive been before. Apart from the wow factor of the tables wish we hadnt bothered . Food tasted cheap and bland. Not what I expected for the price. Had better from the local greasy spoon cafe !!
Had a lovely birthday meal with my partner. The staff were very attentive. The food and drink were served in good time and well presented and tasted delicious. I had the lamb curry and my partner had the curried sea bass. Will definitely return.
Very strange business model regarding their drinks ,a certain whiskey was ordered by us and and confirmed that this was available, and we get served some low quality nameless brand probably, which resulted in headaches. After send this back the waitress came trembling to the table. So a good question is or management knows about this? The food not really the best Thai food there, deserts were also poor.
Awww very disappointing. I used to love this place and considered it a treat to go. The last time i was there was about 12 months ago and the food was amazing. We went last night, we were told they only had 5.30 or 9.30 slot left so we booked 5.30pm. We arrived early and some of the party were already there. The waitress had just served them drinks in the waiting area so we were waiting for her to come back so we could order some more. She never returned so we asked a member of staff if we could order some drinks to which she pointed over to the bar saying the bars over there. Fair enough. The food was disappointing. It was like chippy quality, not how it was like in the past. We ordered a variety and shared so it wasnt just my meal that was disappointing. It was over priced and quite empty for a saturday night. Still baffled as to why they only had 5.30 or 9.30 slots available.
Tasty food, portion size was quite filling. A bit more expensive than independant restaurants, but still worth every penny. Quick, efficient and friendly service.
Very average Thai food. I had the chicken satay and the beef Penang. Both very mild and bland. I have been too Thailand twice and it was no where close. Service was decent but food sucked
The food is average, nothing special. The restaurant is trying to be fancy but sometimes lacking very basic-level approach to customers. We asked for a house wine - not wanted to spend much on it, got a bottle of the cheapest wine you can buy in Tesco for like 3 pounds and were charged 18 pounds per bottle. The wine was very warm and really bad. The waitresses could smile a bit since they pretend to be a fancy restaurant, etc.
Fine Thai dining. The food was delicious and they was plenty of choice without making it over bearing. Service was fantastic. Excellent quality ingredients are obviously used as this becomes apparent when eating the delicious food. Will definitely go back if I am in the area again.
Fantastic restaurant! Beautiful decor with fantastic private dining rooms for parties of any size. Perfect venue for special occasions! Amazing Thai Food with excellent service. The best Thai restaurant in the UK in my opinion, not tried anything that comes close!
Service was great. Food delicious, and portion size is large, we only needed mains. The food is fresh and tasty. We would return and recommend to friends.
Having been lucky enough to go to Thailand I can say that Chaophraya matches both the quality of Thai food as well as the top-notch service and friendliness. Its a little expensive, but definitely worth it!
