This is one of the most unique Indian restaurants in the city. The food here is delicious and it has a really beautiful interior design. The ambiance of the place is lovely and calming. The staff are pleasant and friendly. The only drawback I found that most of the dishes were quite expensive, but didn’t have enough quantity nor justifiable from the taste. But would recommend trying out this place at least once for one of the most unique dining experiences.

Service was good. We were seated promptly. Interesting take on Indian food. We ordered the lychee teapot drink (four shots- which was great - they could improve the presentation (nicer potand it would be a hit. We tried koliwada calamari which has a nice taste to it and the chicken momos which come with a great sauce. Our dinner was the butter chicken which was ok (have had better in other places). Overall, a good experience- one less star because all the food was lukewarm in temperature.

A solid fusion Indian restaurant. Tasty food and good location. The curries are really good as well as the desserts. Paneer, kebabs and prawn curry very good. In the summer you can sit by the river which is lovely too. Almost always booked so you often need a reservation! I’d recommend if you are in Canary Wharf. HalalService is fine having been here multiple times it’s hit and miss.

We had such an amazing time - best birthday dinner ever. The restaurant was very accommodating and made the day go smooth. We were a large group of 20pp and had the time/ space to enjoy the meals while talking to each other - we were not rushed into anything. All my guest very happy and loved the food! Definitely recommend this place for any occasion :)

The portions of food are very small. Don’t expect to feel full from 2 dishes even. Bread they bring just 1 piece(never saw it anywhere). The stuff was rude, except administrator man who took good care of us and was helpful.Waiter asked me what I want to drink before food while waiting and I asked if it is possible to have 1/2 pint of beer? She brought it to me and when I was paying I was charged only couple of pence less than price of pint. I asked politely why is that and waiter rudely said: “You are not in pub!”. Also when we switched to 2nd part of the restaurant where it seemed like less noise we were served by another waiter which was very slow and also rude, always correcting us. We wanted to order more food but waiter was not looking at us and not coming even I tried to call them. In the end we were corrected by waiter while paying, which is not polite.Bad experience. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

So far what I ate all was good but I went there by watching or seeing Only the brand name chai ki then when I order it it was the worst masala chai I have ever taken in my life as it tasted totally like water with Suger. I was disappointed totally and thought I could have made better chai than that in lowest cost with much amount😔😔😔😔

Food was quite tasty, although portions are quite small for the price. The prawn curry was delicious. Staff were eager to take our plates away (one plate with a few wedges were taken away!but took forever to get their attention when we wanted the dessert menu. However satisfactory experience overall.

Good ambience. Starters/Bites were good. Main course mattar paneer gravy was just a tomato puree. I really dont understand why they move away from authentic Indian cusisine. Stay original to the roots and let everyone enjoy the spices of India.

I sat at the bar since I didnt have a reservation. Bar tender was really attentive. I ordered Chicken Biryani and Lamb Sukha and Maha mojito. Mojito was good and so was lamb but biryani wasnt great. Almost felt like biryani rice were mixed with chicken curry and served. I had to return it. Garlic naan was tasty, recommended by bar tender. 5 star service, food is 4.

The staff here are very friendly and warm, good service and good food! Not an issue, but having chronic pain, it was somewhat difficult to get to their washrooms as it was up two flights of stairs. So just a heads up, if youve got mobility issues or are visiting with an elderly.

Been here twice recently and both times it was fantastic. Service was very good and the waitress (Mayawas really helpful in recommending dishes. Food was very tasty and I really recommend the Kollwada Calamari which I had on both visits. My second visit was also for my birthday and the staff were very keen to get involved and sing happy birthday which was nice. Location wise its right outside off the station and I think reasonably priced for the food overall. If I were to offer improvement it would be nice to have an option of a bigger Naan and the cocktails were a little disappointing. That said its definitely worth a visit.

Ambiance was niceThe service was pretty good. The decoration was pretty good too.But the main part was the food was ok. The flavors were bland. Parata tasted like frozen paratha or samosa, and the chicken salad was ok. Spicy was nonexistent.I finish with chai but the maker marks were too strong on the chai. The flavor of chai wasnt there. It tasted like warm whisky and milk and sugar and Lil bit of cinnamon spice

The food was very good. Prices were decent for Canary Wharf. The chicken and lamb is halal, and cooked separately to the non-halal meat.I would have rated it 5 stars but the mocktails werent great - filled with so much ice there was barely any actual drink, so couldnt justify paying £6 for them. But overall its a decent place. There arent a lot of great halal places in Canary Wharf, so this a decent option if youre struggling for alternatives.

This is a really great restaurant and having visited as a large group is certainly worth considering for such an occasion. There’s a well stocked bar in the reception area and it’s a nice spot to spend a little time in should you need to wait for a table. However one frustrating aspect is the behaviour of adding a ‘discretionary’ service charges to the bill without advising. When ordering at the bar you’re not made aware of this and it was only as a result of requesting a receipt I saw it had been added. The restaurant service is much more deserving of such a charge though, with really attentive and friendly staff who are entertaining and willing to engage in decent conversation, while remaining efficient at the job in hand. We went with the sharing menu which is a selection of plates brought throughout the evening and presented perfectly to share. The flavours were brilliant and despite being shared the portion sizes great - no one was left going hungry. Drinks were kept topped up throughout the meal and the staff were always on hand for any requests despite the place being practically full. The table was large and spacious and the sofa seating against the wall was actually comfier than it looked. The upstairs toilets were as smart as the restaurant itself, again being totally clean. With a pleasant atmosphere it was an enjoyable evening meal and somewhere I’d consider again, especially as a group with their sharing menu.

A cozy place by the canal. Serves quick bites (read as serves 1 kinda recipes with a good price to portion ratio. The bar menu is rather elaborate and the outside seating space is more fun during the summer. Inside seating would be more of a winter thing!

Outstanding hospitality and table service, the duty manager forgot his name though I do remember he is from Greece in an asset to this establishment. The decor has a homely touch to it, the food is outstanding and I’d personally recommend the Achari Chicken.Making a reservation is highly recommended as they get busy very quick.

Great vibrant Indian restaurant located in Canary Wharf.I ordered the Bombay bhel chaat, sheesh kebabs, lamb samosas and burnt chilli chicken salad for starters.Naan, Karol bath butter chicken, old Delhi chicken biryani for mains.Stand out dishes were the sheesh kebabs (super soft and full of flavourand burnt chilli chicken salad (crunchy from the lettuce and peppers with marinated chicken pieces throughout). Would recommend for a quick bite to eat if the Canary Wharf area.

The burnt chilli chicken is my favourite here and a sensation for the taste buds. The portion is moderate, not generous which is the only downside but it comes with salad full of flavour too at least. The curries are also really nice. This place has always been good each time I have visited. You can try some of their fusion and cool tropical drinks to end with.

We had Koliwada calamari, Chicken tikka naan, Lamb sukha Masala and chicken biryani, everything was full of flavors and spices, authentic taste and was really spicy 🔥Non-alcoholic drinks were so good and refreshing. Portion size is good for 2.My new favorite Indian spot in Canary Wharf in London!

Ambience and service are great. We, a group of 7 Indians, had Delhi biriyani, parata, samosa, lamb curry etc. Biriyani was just fine. Curries could have been better since it all tasted same. Samosa and passion fruit mojito was good. Malabar parata is just not the real stuff; Seems they dont know what it is. It seems they just heated up a frozen parata. Overall it is average.

Another fantastic meal at Chai Ki. Been here a few times now and it has never been less than a 10/10.Every dish was well presented and tasted even better. Paprika podi fries were stunning as was the lamb curry dish. Also, they had the best calamari dish I have ever had. Cannot wait to go again!

Good food but really poor value for money.£72 for lunch for two. £4.20 for coconut water that I saw poured from a supermarket carton sums it up. Service was good, food was really good quality. Although, as a bit of a heat wimp but someone who loves curry and spice, I was disappointed that the butter chicken was pretty spicy.

Starters- Calamari - great blend of spices however this would have been nicer if it was crispier as shown on their Instagram page- Chicken wings - my favorite out all the starters amazing flavours and good size wings!- Schezwan Aloo - This was nice but it honestly looked like frozen potato wedges with a drizzle of sauce on top. I was expecting sauteed potatoes with spices.Mains- Butter Chicken - it was fine, very average in terms of flavour however the chicken was very tender. What I found as a major downfall was how quickly the butter chicken came out and yet it was cold, it makes it seem this was not freshly made.- Garlic naan - This was great- Malabar Paratha - I have had homemade Parathas often and this just did not seem freshly made, but very similar to a frozen pack.I have homemade Indian food regularly and for that reason, The Asian fusion twist dishes were much better than the traditional dishes as they were lacking flavour. I would not be in a rush to go again and it is a little expensive for what you get. Everything looks presentable and the cocktails were very nice, If I do go back I will probably return for starters and drinks only.

Most of our food including starters arrived cold. My drink had a passionfruit with the stickers still attached which is a very unhygienic. Service was slow although most staff were friendly. Flavours were good but if the food came at a better temperature would have enjoyed it more. Overall 3/5 plenty of room for improvement!

As far as fusion modern Indian goes, the food here is great! I have been going to Chai ki for almost over 4 years - as a regular, I still continue to enjoy the food and service. The burnt chilli chicken is a must try - this is a typical Indonesian Indian (aka “indo-Indian”style dish.

By far the best Indian restaurants in that area! And probably one of the best in London. Very fresh ingredients, super tasty food.My personal favorites are chicken biryani(portion is enormous), Himalayan ribs and Koliwada Calamari(very fresh and tasty), though everything else that I’ve tried there was very tasty as well. Also, surprisingly, cocktails are also good and there is a nice selection of non-alcoholic cocktails as well. No mango lassi unfortunately…Place is often packed, so booking is highly recommended.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. It was busy on a Tuesday night and tables were full. The staff are friendly but it was hard to get their attention. They have a good cocktail list including several non alcoholic ones which was nice. The food is good but could have been hotter when served. Portion sizes are not bad. Unfortunately, the naan was overcooked and burnt which was disappointing.A place to go for a casual dinner with friends or colleagues.

Nothing special, not their fault just my palate. I think when you blog about food and that’s your passion, your taste buds develop strange flavours and this wasn’t for me! Some people may like this but for me I won’t be back. Butter chicken tasted awful! Sour and just tangy it should be creamy and buttery sorry correct me if I been eating the wrong kind! 🤣 my friends prawn curry was great from what she said. I loved the aloo that’s my go to

Gurkhali chicken wings were delicious could have done with more of that sauce. GT Road Chicken was very well cooked and delicious. Lamb Sukha Masala was a let down, the samosas lacked seasoning and the lamb curry didn’t have much flavour. Gulab jamun were delicious but could have done with more sugar rose water. Overall a good dining experience.

I rarely give 5 stars, but when the food, location, venue and service are all perfect then I think 5 stars is deserving.Ideal spot for a group (so you get to try more dishesbut I think the location and coziness of the venue make it a great date spot too.Very reasonably priced food and drinks which were served quite quickly. The menu is quite short but the dishes are a great mix of authentic Indian food, fusion food, Indian street food and some South Indian dishes too.Personally, one of the best Calamari dishes I’ve had is at Chai Ki, their paneer salad, burnt chilli chicken, samosa chaat, butter chicken and biryani were also dishes I’d highly recommend. Leave some room for dessert too, the gulab Jamun and Malai cheesecake are delicious!

the food was mouthwatering. absolutely would come here again, in a heartbeat. I enjoyed eating the food here very much. The restaurant had a lovely cozy vibe, and the atmosphere was very chill. The food came out quite quick at first, when we ordered, however the service was kind of slow when we wanted to see the dessert menu. We did have to wait for over half an hour to see it.Also, if you are quite unfamiliar with Canary Wharf, it might take you a while to find parking and find the restaurant. maps aren’t always that helpful finding the way. if you do make a reservation at this restaurant and plan to drive, please ensure you take into consideration finding where to park/finding the restaurant, when you book.4/5 stars.
