Peruvian seafood, skewers, salads and pisco cocktails, at tables or a bar in a bright dining room.
It was lovely and quiet with super fast service, though we were there super early at 3pm. The food was amazing and gave a great taste of Peru, I highly recommend the toasted corn nuts and lomo saltado. Also when recommended the Peruvian donuts I suggest you accept! They are flavourful, light and fluffy inside and beautifully crispy outside, served with heavenly cinnamon ice-cream. Its a good thing I dont live in London or Id be there all the time! A huge thank you to the staff, I will be back!
Went at just after lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon. Was bitterly disappointed with some of the food have never seen mayo over the skewers the ceviche dishes although the fish was nice the lemon flavouring was so over powering. The artichoke I couldn’t even touch was so bland I just had to leave it and the pork belly had no flavour at all. All in all disappointing experience.
Friendly welcome, attentive service and tasty, varied sharing dishes. The beef steak is a rip off though for £20 - 4 tiny morsels.
I came to this restaurant in the summer and enjoyed. Tonight I travelled up from Southend and was disappointed. My main came out whilst I was still eating my starter. The waiter started clearing the table whilst someone was still eating and one of the mains only had 1 mouthful of potatoe on it???? Wouldnt rush back there which is a shame
Sad to say the food here wasn’t good. The Ceviche we had was not fresh, and the octopus dish was weirdly sweet with cubed low quality chorizo. We also had a pork belly dish which was tough as anything and seemed quite old. Beef dish also was really dry and over done.Just overall not great and overpriced for what we got.
Lovely fresh ceviche and pisco sours with a friendly service. The place was packed and offered a lively atmosphere. Really great for a night out with friends.
This was my 2nd time coming to the restaurant, which I really enjoyed, so much so, I chose it for my wifes birthday. But I am guessing they were either having an off day, or just dropped standards:* I requested twice (even 30 mins before we wentto have a candle or message on dessert for my wifes birthday, this was confirmed...but never happened* The food was nowhere near as nice as my previous visit (We even sent a dish back), and looking at the pictures on here (How I remember my first tripit was totally a different experience. The pork bites were dry, the chicken wings was dry and just smothered in a over salty sauce and the Yukka fries were so hard they were inedible.* Me and my wife both suffered upset stomachs for 2 days after (And only linked it to our experience due to not seeing each other throughout the day until then)Its a shame, as I chose it due to my previous visit, but will not be returning, I am not sure if this is a recent thing as even though Soho was the busiest ive seen since pre covid, the restaurant was only 20% full if that (Other restaurants close by were so full people were queuing)Why 2 stars? Its only saving grace is the drinks, however, this will not help in my decision never to return. If you are looking for a good Peruvian place, I would try Señor Ceviche (Also in Sohowhich we found far superior to this visit.
My husband took me to this restaurant on Saturday for my birthday. We had pork bites, ceviche, cassava chips, chicken tights and octopus. Ceviche was okay but everything else tasted old (re-cooked/warmed up). We had to send the cassava chios as they were so hard to bite and 100% does not give justice to Peruvian food.Left disappointed and still suffering from an upset tummy!Oh and the toilets were disgusting!!!We will not return to this restaurant!
Could update hours here. Has been closed both times we have tried to eat here, despite getting there over an hour before their closing time. On second thought, maybe not such bad luck as the lomo saltado photos look atrocious.
As a Latin American individual who loves to cook, I was super excited to come and eat here. It was good. We had three of the ceviches. One was on point. The other two needed work. The citrus was way overdone and not as layered in flavour as leche de tigre in Peru. The anticuchos were fantastic and the donuts were yummy. It’s on the pricey side for the portion size.
A friend took me here because hed been before, it had a very lively atmosphere, the food and drinks were very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful
I went with some friends to try the pisco sour and it was the worst pisco sour I’ve ever tried. The barman used the blender with the rest of an older order, and the pisco didn’t taste like pisco. It tested like water, good for a juice but not worth the price of an alcoholic beverage. If the drinks are like that, I wouldn’t even try the main dishes… sorry
Went here for a quick drink and the staff were really nice, chilled atmosphere, I recommend the pisco sour!
The ceviche was excellent, though it didnt come with chips (crispsor anything, which is a bit unusual. The bao was dry, like it was left outside for too long. Space, service, and cocktails were great.
Having eaten ceviche around the world including Peru, this was unfortunately underwhelming. With good reviews in a big city we were expecting more. We were the first ones when the restaurant opened and the service was pleasant. But the portions were tiny and overpriced, even for Europe. In addition, their version of tigre de leche although fresh tasted like some combination of citrus juices and thats it. In addition to being self proclaimed ceviche connoisseurs we took a cooking class in Peru to make ceviche from scratch. This unfortunately was not the typical version weve made and tried everywhere that has it on a menu. For reference we got the cassava fries (very good), Don Ceviche, Peruvian Ceviche, and Lomo Saltado (great but only 4 pieces of meat & the rest veggies). We also ordered a large Maracuya Pisco that tasted good but consisted of 1/2 foam. Overall, it was just ok
Probably the best pisco sours in London and the ceviches are excellent! I didnt like the warm food as much unfortunately. Also, its pricy for the small portions.
1. Nice service :)2. Food is tasty and authentic (my partner is Peruvian and he said is most authentic Peruvian food he had so far!)3. They have nice tables outside and good vibe insideCons: it is rather price and it’s add up quickly
A little lacklustre dinner on a Sunday. I have no basis of comparison, so Im judging based on my palate. We ordered the tasting menu, £35pp X 2. The first wave was toasted corn and pork belly. Both were very salty. The second was seabass cerviche and palm heart. Both very sour! The third wave of beef and octopus were pretty decent. Loved the spiciness of the beans and chorizo. The beef was done well. The last course of pumpkin doughnut and cinnamon ice cream had a good balance.Service was below average. It was difficult to get the waitstaffs attention. When we did one of them came with a dissatisfied look. The night was busy and we struggled to have an fluid and enjoyable meal.Id try other Peruvian and pass a more just review in the future.
Ceviche is a Peruvian restaurant and initially I thought was something different to try when you are in Central London. Was a bit disappointed with the service was given, guess I was expecting a British style service but my starters came and we couldn’t finish all when the mains came. Although I think the concept here is tapas specific where food is served when they are readily cooked. The octopus portion was so small that if that was your main meal it’s not worth it. I don’t think it’s worth the price of coming here for this. Not worth coming for sure. It’s nice if you want to try something different in this restaurant.
Nice experience and best piscosour ever in London!!!We had a great time here and the barman Julio was very professional! He made our evening out of our expectations! Davidev_foodvibes 👏😎🇵🇪
Cocktails were pretty yummy as well as the starters. We personally wouldn’t recommend the lomo saltado nor the rice. The lomo saltado literally only has 5 pieces of meat and 2 pieces of tomato and onion. Unfortunately that doesn’t make it even close to what a legitimate lomo saltado is. We also ordered the sides of rice and unfortunately tasted like it was microwaved, no flavor. For a Peruvian restaurant, it didn’t have that taste and love for food we were hoping for. Maybe it’s worth just sticking to the cocktails and starters and maybe the ceviches. But wouldn’t come back for their lomo saltado, a staple in Peruvian food
What an awesome staff! So friendly and nice! Cute place. We took about eleven dishes for six people, which seemed to be a perfect amount. Extra shout out to the Dolce de Leche Crepes and their Beef Heart scewers! So delicious. The Peruvian Cheviche was highly praised by our party.
Always an excellent choice when in Soho - tasty cocktails and superb food. Dont miss out on having pisco sours and definitely have the ceviche (why else would you go here!). The staff are very helpful and even at the busiest times will make an effort to get you seated...and dont be afraid to sit at the bar!Cant recommend Ceviche enough, whether you are a London local or visiting this is somewhere you should try.
Went for a dinner on a Friday night. The bar and the restaurant were packed. Not uncomfortably so, but just figured it would be hard to get a seat without reservations. The food, service, waiting time, prices, and general ambience were really good. Never felt like we had to wait. Staff were always nearby and checking in regularly. All the starters we had were pretty good. Favourite would have to be the crispy chicken and beef heart. Calamari was yum too, but when is it ever not? 😉For the main I ordered the grilled octopus and chorizo -- and that was incredible. If you can eat meat, get it. You wont regret it.All in all, a good experience, one Id be tempted to return for.
Great menu. The food was delicious, unpretentious and varied. Staff were attentive and friendly.
Was really looking forward to trying this place out. The staff are lovely but the food was a bit of a let down. The ceviche was delicious and I guess its what theyre known for. The small plates were rather basic though. The price was fair for the food so thats a plus. The drinks were good. It got very loud by 7:30pm so I could barely hear my friend speak. Nice to try somewhere different though.
Bit expensive but amazing food and great variety on the menu. Good service and lively atmosphere on top of that.
Food is very good but a bit too pricey for what it is personally. We ordered a few things and I was really looking forward to the octopus chorizo, I was quite sad that the octopus were really small chunks and you get a big piece of chorizo in between. For £16.5 I expected much bigger pieces of octopus. I did really enjoy the beef heart skewers.
I had my first Peruvian food experience in Ceviche Soho and overall I am satisfied with it! The taste of this food (Pachamancawas for me something new and I liked it. I found it a bit expensive especially for the added service fees, and a bit too dark but all good for the rest.
Average dining experience. The food wasn’t that amazing for the price. My favourites were the corn cake and the mushroom stew.
Great new food experience. Some really different taste experiences here. Hi lights were the seabass ceviche and the cornbread dishes. Super efficient service too. Great experience.
As a Peruvian myself, I was underwhelmed by the food. The only thing that took me back to my country was the ceviche, everything else had the looks of traditional food, but not the taste. Especially the Chaufa rice, which was anything but Chaufa. My Anticuchos came garnished with mayonnaise and the Picarones were served with a scoop of ice cream?!! I doubt this food is cooked by Peruvian chefs. I’d gladly invite them over for a taste of my non-professional, traditional Peruvian cuisine. Service was great :)
Lovely dinner tonight.. Staff extremely friendly and attentive, the food was lovely and the manager Xavier directing the team with consummate experience. Well done to everyone. Highly recommended.
Jazzy place serving Peruvian ceviche with a yellow special recipe tiger sauce. Friendly staff. Great location. Cool place to just hang around in a casual mood with your friends. Portions are small so it’s better to order a few for everybody to nibble. Definite recommendation!
It was a nice experience overall. The reason for 4 stars - there was too much acidity in ceviche, as much as marination is based on citrus, it shouldnt be so overpowering.Octopus and chorizo skewer had a lot of chorizo and almost no octopus, so really overpriced. The service was good and attentive and we enjoyed the ambiance.
Fun buzzy atmosphere. Lovely service and great food. Not really a cocktail person but they do a great pisco sour all the others I have had outside of Peru have all been very disappointing but cerviche Frith street do a great one.
This is the second time weve been at Ceviche and weve had a lovely time. The atmosphere outside was lovely, the pisco sours excellent, and the food delicious. I particularly recommend the Peruvian Ceviche and the causa. Will come back again.
1. Lovely atmosphere inside and outside.2. Perfect place for a date.3. Great food, tried some dishes that I have never had before and they tasted really good.4. Food is well presented.5. Staff are so friendly and always helpful.
Ceviche is not the place that it used to be, out of five dishes/tapas only two were really nice.- Corn cake and beef heart skewers were really nice- Peruvian ceviche big disappointment- Chicken wings on the edge salty- Cassava chips a bit dry
Had heard that this place is affordable but when you realise how small the portions are it really isnt! This photo shows one of the ceviche dishes which is very pretty but so small and cost £7. Maybe if they made it more clear that you need to order a few plates each it would make more sense. Also there are a few vegan options but no desserts.
Went here during EOHO...even tho it was super busy, the staff were amazing and found me a table immediately. Food was outstanding...well cooked and arrived quickly. Highlights for me were the Chips and Virgin Pisco Sour (perfect for a hot day !!Definitely recommend this place and will be returning for sure.
We have been here at february and it was a really cozy and nice restaurant. The dish were all tasty and superfresh! I really enjoyed the yummi starters. They have a cheap menù for lunch: I think it is a good idea
I must say Im not a fan of fish, specially not raw fish. I must also say I liked the ceviche here, and will probably come back for more. Everything was delicious and super fresh, and the lady serving us was very nice and gave us some great advice for choosing our food and drinks.
Great place for dinner with friends. The food is good, but not fantastic.I liked the ambience, and it wasnt too loud to have a conversation. Atmosphere seemed pretty relaxed overall.Service was good as well, with dishes arriving without too much of a wait - very friendly staff! Some of the cocktails were on the small side though.Would come back here :)
This restaurant is really good. The quality of the ingredients is very high and the dishes are delicious and unique and authentic. The drinks are nice, the service is very friendly. And it’s reasonably price. Everything you’d want in a restaurant. One of my favourite in London
We loved the food and the ambience. It’s located in a great spot in the heart of Soho. Excellent customer service provided by Jessica, Peruvian waitress who recommended us to try Pisco sour and it was delicious . Ceviche and lomo asado was the highlight for us. The dessert was pretty amazing as well, chocolate tart with banana ice cream . We will definitely be back soon. I also want to mention the Peruvian music they were playing made our lunch feel like we were in Peru .
This adorable restaurant has an upscale yet homey vibe to it. They offer tapas style dishes as well as full size mains. We tried a bit of both and were pleasantly surprised. Portions are decent sized and food was very flavorful. Tables are close together but we werent bothered. Would recommend for a nice date night if you want to try something new!
Came here for a birthday meal. Lovely food and great atmosphere. The staff are great. Our waitress went out of her way to help us pick out truly scrumptious options. Definitely have a pisco sour
We came here for dinner before the theatre and it was ok. Friendly staff and a good menu but ultimately, the food wasnt anything to write home about. The best dishes were the kale pie and steak, but nothing else really got us excited and it was quite expensive. Not one for me.
Festive Peruvian atmosphere and welcoming staff. The food was delicious!! In particular, I liked the traditional ceviche and duck. However, the portions were too small and the prices too high!!! All the dishes are just small tapas. So, I don’t recommend this place for dinner. The atmosphere became too cozy at 7 pm when they lowered the lights and we finished the dinner in almost darkness.Toilets are downstairs.
