Central Museum of the Air Force Air Mandala - Museum in Pandak, Indonesia
Central Museum of the Air Force Air Mandala in Pandak
Description
Its very important for kids to know the story of the aerplane
It is an educational museum that will give you more experience and knowledge about Indonesian Airforce history from the past time.
MoreYou might get confused when you search for the entrance gate because it located in the middle of air Force area. It has collection of unused aircrafts and uniforms used by air force crew. If you want to know about history of Indonesian air force, you must visit this museum.
MoreIt was nice, this was our first time visit here esp to the one of the museum in Yogyakarta.Nothing much to say really, just found the place is awesome, and also the staff are very helpful, I love them all, not rude always smile, and very very friendly. We noticed that one of the engine museum room not open when we went there, my partner was a bit disappointed about that. They probably should open all instead close it just for certain events. Lol
MoreReally, really great place, with lots of open space , kids will not only learn about the history of Indonesias air force, but they can also play outside. A little bit dirty as people littering and not that many staff stand guard. Staff need to warn visitors to put their trash in the trash bin or perhaps apply a fine to those littering.
MoreSuper weird museum. They wanted a paper copy of our passports for their archive. All of us had our passports with us, yet they did not accept that, neither a scan of it as a pdf (which we also hadand they didnt have a printer either to make a paper copy themselves. After 15 min of translation over google translate (they didnt speak more english than "paper copy" and "no"and asking without success several times, if there is a copyshop nearby, we left.We would have really liked to see the museum.
MoreThe main hall is renovated and it looks awesome but the rest of exhibition still the same, dark and unmaintained. I saw some of aircraft were moved and rearranged. Ticket price still affordable and friendly air force staff.
MoreWill not visit this museum anymore as I experienced verbal violence from the portal officer. A sergeant rank sould be got humanism education, but this not been reflected in the field. The museum will be better if it closed for public and consumed internally. I do not really recommend this site for public/civilliant due to very very very unconvertable when you arrived in the entrance.
MoreCosts 10k for foreigners to get in and its a bit difficult to find the entrance as its in the middle of an airforce base. Some minor works are occuring on the main building but you get the main idea of whats happening. There is lots of rather dry info on the airforce but lots of military equipment, both soviet and western which shows Indonesias history. Not a must visit but good for those with an interest in the topic
MoreAviation and me. Me meet aviation. You, well I mean my best friends and family know I love planes, Mum said I was supposed to be born with wings. So this review would be bias? Yes. Oops I mean I try to be bias … to be fair 🤭Ok history, for those who love history this is one place to learn something about Indonesian Air Force. All aircraft that has been used are here and in good condition. You will see MiG 17, MiG 19, Bombers, Pursuit Aircrafts, transports etc. Aviation lovers, you’ll going to love this Museum. If only I could live in a tent just outside the main building or under a wing of an aircraft …
MoreNice museum, clean, easy parking access and located near Adi Sucipto airport. The good thing is, we can see clearly when there is an airplane about to landing.
MoreWorth it for 10K ! Highly recommend if your an aviation geek
Nice place with Air Force squad fighter jet AURI, and can see Air plane while landing and take off from Yogyakarta Airport
MoreGood view, Good educational about Adi Sucipto and Indonesia history air forces. It’s just the air conditioner is really super bad and also several places are not that clean. The ticket price is 6000 IDR for one person on that day.
MoreMust have place for aviation geeks.Only few meters from the edge of Adisucipto runway. If you lucky, you can see Indonesian air force training planes approaching to the runway during their training filghts.Improvement required for the air circulation inside the museum and airplane hangar.
MoreAnyone with the slightest interest in aircraft absolutely MUST visit this place.Their collection is stunning before you even start, but the fact you can touch most of the aircraft, and even climb into a number of them, is shockingly great.Ive been three times so far and will definitely visit again when I get the chance.
MoreGood for learning on the Indonesian military aviation
Tremendous Aerospace Museum of Indonesia 🇮🇩 that informs the memoir of 🇮🇩
MoreTiket terjangkau. Children friendly. Little bit hot inside. Less circulation of the air. Maybe need some blower / fan . Its okay
MoreHappy to have some fun with kids and see about the airplane of TNI AU.
A museum presenting a collection of old Indonesian Air Force military aircraft in Banguntapan, Banguntapan District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, part of the Adisucipto Air Force Base complex. I came here long ago with my family, and some highlights included Soviet-made stars like Tu-16KS Badger strategic bomber, MiG-21F13 Fishbed fighter and SA-75 Dvina SAM, US-made HU-16D Albatross and PBY-5A Catalina amphibious aircrafts, OV-10F Bronco and A-4E Skyhawk light ground attack aircrafts.
MoreNice place to go it you love airplanes, jets. Just get up close and personal
Entry : 3k - 6kCozy PlaceBiggest museum
Very nice aviation museum. Very good to introduce indonesia aviation history. Have some good collection of plane especially the awesome mustang P-51.
MoreExcellent museum with a great collection of aircraft and engines. We (two foreignersarrived at the gate of the airbase and we were asked to hand in one of our passports by the military police, which was a bit disconcerting. Upon leaving the airbase they handed it back to me, so all was good. Just something to keep in mind when you go here as a foreigner! The museum itself is terrific. Theres a large collection of aircraft outside the museum. It is a diverse mix of Russian and American aircraft. Some appear to have access stairs next to them, but they were sadly all locked. Youll also find a few historic vehicles here and there. Then when you go inside youll find a whole raft of uniforms and dioramas depicting historical events of the Indonesian Air Force. But the best part is the collection of aircraft they have on display. Just like outside, it is a mix of Russian and American aircraft, but youll also find some European models. Some of which youre even allowed to enter, which is terrific. There is also a dual Mustang simulator, but this was closed off when we visited. When youve finished dont forget to go to the engine museum on the other side of the park! It has the jet engines from most of the aircraft you see on display. We went here on a Monday and it was eerily quiet. The gift shop was also closed. If you dont mind handing your passport over to the military police, it is a greatly recommended visit.
MoreNice place for aviation geeks. And good place for kids to have experience about their nationality, and knowledge about airplane and national history. We came at noon in the weekend, and quite uncomfortable with too many guests at a time.We suggest you to visit at early morning and weekdays for better experience.Overall will visit another time, and will suggest other family to come.Pros: cheap entry, wide range of collections, great place to took photosCons: no guide services, a/c was not very optimal (quite hot inside)
MoreWe strolling around here during day. Its so sunny and hot! But still enjoyable. My toddler loves to see the airplane that come and go in the sky. The collection also nice. But its not that informative since no guide provided. When we go inside the museum they still have lots of collection, memorabilia and things but still not that interaktif.
MoreWorld Cerebral Palsy Day 2019 celebrate at this museum... my child and his friends are all happy ❤️
MoreI give this place 5 star because this is my childhood legendary museum. But the maintenance inside is pretty substandart, dirty, the display is a little "rushed" and "just-at-it-is" (sakpenake dewe)The diorama inside is excellent, but too bad its displayed poorly, the employee doesnt even care the plane is crashed into each other on the diorama. The pro is : there are hugee garden in front of the museum, and outside you can find underground museum, pretty unique. Nuff said, just look at my photos
MoreUnderrated museum, surprisingly full of aircraft and next to runway which makes the trip so enjoyable and I will come back definitely.
MoreInteresting and spacious museum about the history of aircrafts in Indonesia. Excellent place to spend time and take some pictures with friends and family.
MoreThis is a good place for vacation especially for the kids. There are many kinds of plane since world war. It is very useful to teach the kids about type of plane
MorePerfect place where time is transformed into a space and history of The Indonesian Air Force. Also commemorating Komodor Mufa Adi Sutjipto, Abdurrahman Saleh, and Adi Soemarmo...
MoreThis place is recommended for bringing our childern below 10 years. The place is very huge complete with hangar. You can find many airplane from 1945. Airplane and hellicopter are here. It will be better if you can come earlier, it was so crowded on holidsy season.
MoreA good place to know about Indonesia air force history. This place also good for your kids, many space to move for your kids.
MoreThis museum is very special for people who love aviation and aeronautica. They have a very complete collection of airplanes starting from the very begining of Indonesian history of air force. The collections are all very well maintained and you can also learn about the history of airforce in Indonesia.
MoreThis Museums collection is very good. Many aircraft from long time ago. Good for youth to know the history of Indonesian Air Force in the Indonesian Independence War.Visotor can see the interior of the old aircraft-Dakota. Also you can see the Diorama, and read the caption of the history. There was a new section, display the new technology in air force. If you get tired, you can seat and enjoy the street food in the food court outside the Museum. You can also do praying in Praying room nearby.
MoreCentral Museum of Indonesian Airforce, it has a complete heritage history of IAF supported with large collection and relics that support historical study and research. Very well managed and conserved supported with convenience atmosphere make it the right place for all ages visitor.
MoreLove it, bisited with my boy, showing him around about various types of airplanes from passengers plane to jet fighter plane. it also has collection of plane engines.
Moreso ammazing place that you can see many great collection and historical of aircraft
Morethe largest Museum of Air Force in Asia. there was also souvenir shop for Jupiter Acrobatic Team. A lot of plane, helicopter and any military equipments to be enjoyed. Green view and clean area for children playing.
MoreI go there when holiday in Yogyakarta at my fathers brother. He is an air force. There are many many examples of aircraft used for this purpose.
MoreIf you like airplanes it is a must to go. Don’t forget to bring your passport, its on military ground, otherwise you can’t enter.

MorePerfect museum to be visited with our family especially children to teach them about TNI AU and its history
Morethe museum is managed by the Indonesian air force. offers authentic look into the post ww2 up to the late 90s fleet including uniforms, equipments and what nots...10 points for the number of collections...1 point for failing to bring the immersive experience of modern day museum
MoreSpecial place for me. A good place to visit. Great place for children to know about Indonesian Air Force, especially the old aircrafts. We can also see the uniforms of Indonesian Air Force (TNI AUand their leaders time by time. Almost all of the old planes are displayed here. Some of them are available for the visitor to be explored inside. In the mushalla area , there are many toilets which are in good condition, always clean. Dont worry, there are souvenirs shopping center and mini market. It is the Adi Sucipto Air Base area (which has commercial airport tooso visitors can enjoy the view of commercial planes flying low on their landing.
MorePlace to share knowledge especially for kids about Indonesian Air Force History. A alot of air plane collection. And the price to enter museum is not expensive. So its great place and save to your budget.
MoreIf youre into planes, this is the place to go in town. Its very close to the airport, so you can find yourself under seemingly only 3 meters down under the belly of an airborne airplane.
MoreReally love this spot. It preserves the memorable items of glorious indonesian airforce includes some historical relics..
