The place I visited 4 or 5 years ago. I recommend wearing sneakers here. The escalator isnt completely connected. There are many places to walk from time to time. I came back bored in the middle, but if I visit Hong Kong again, I want to ride it to the end. There are many cafes and restaurants on the streets on both sides of the escalator, so its fun to look around. :)

The best alternate route to go home during peak hours. Sometimes the escalator is not working and it take times to fix it but its OK is just a good way to exercise your muscles more.

With Covid sometimes closing the bars and restaurants, the escalators is an ok place to have a beer and relax... Actual under the escalators. The escalators is a transportation system. Before 10 am they go down.

Great way to get through Mid-Levels! Just make sure you check which way the escalator is travelling. Usually it goes down in the morning and up in the afternoon.Signs guide you easily to the escalators and you can get off at many streets. It took me 11 minutes to ride the escalators all the way from the top to the bottom.

They say its the longest escalator on earth. Sorry thats not true. There are just a lot of short escalators. After two or three rides its already boring.

This was an interesting experience. It’s not just one entire long ongoing escalator rather there are multiple stops in between. This means you can get off and explore or continue going up/down. It’s pretty cool mainly to say you’ve been on the world’s longest escalators and the art work is pretty cool. Otherwise it does get quite busy and a lot of human traffic.

Excellent way to see a great area of this beautiful city as well as sample many international flavors weather it be New York style Pizza or amazing ice cream at Emack and Bolio’sTake a ride all the way up to the Mid-Levels and walk down or grab a cab/mini-bus or full size bus back down to Central.

Sections of the escalators were under maintenance when I visited, so I dont think I got the full effect or enjoyment from riding them. I would suggest avoiding them in the summer, and taking periodic breaks to enjoy the scenery surrounding them.

I wanted the full experience but there was construction being done on one of the travelators. Its a great spot to visit, especially if you are in the area! Keep in mind if you are going to the top, you’ll need to take the stairs down!

Climbing those hills up and then descending down was quite of a work out for us . We enjoyed the mid levels escalators even though the one in the mid section was not working . Disappointed at first, considering the humidity and the best, we push forward to the top . The location is close to other famous spots like max noodle shop

Labelled as the longest escalator (broken into sections). A few facts/observations1. Starts from Queens Road Central2. Ends at Conduit Rd3. Keep R if standing, go L if walking4. Lots of selfies/self sticks5. (almostAlways breaks down6. No A/C. It’s a sweatbox in summer7. 6am-10am escalator moves downwards8. 10am-12modnihht moves upwards

One of Hong Kong’s most amazing attractions. Note that the escalator will go down in the morning but go up from 10am onwards. There is only one side of the escalator so if you go up by escalator, you need to walk down later or take either bus or taxi to go down. The whole trip of going up from the ground level to the top could last around 30 minutes. It passes through the Soho area and many attractions including the Muslim mosque and Dr. Sun Yat Sen museum at the top. Don’t miss it.

The escalator can only be go up and you need to walk by yourself to go down. It is connected number of tourist spots such as Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens. Its convenient to go those places by taking the escalator.

The Central–Mid-Levels escalator and walkway system in Hong Kong is the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world. The system covers over 800 metres (2,600 ftin distance and traverses an elevation of over 135 metres (443 ftfrom bottom to top. It opened in 1993 to provide an improved link between the Central and Mid-Levels districts on Hong Kong Island.

These escalators/walkway system really is a sight to be had. And are appreciated when they are running in the direction you are traveling! They are also a great landmark if you get yourself turned around in HK, which is easy to do on the various streets and levels in Central.

Very nice and clean outdoor escalator that brings you from the bottom of the hill to the mid levels so you dont have to hike up! This was very useful as our grandparents lived on Caine Road and our hotel was on Robinson Road. Even for visiting SOHO in generally, this is the escalator to use!

Escalators. In the morning they go down, in the evening they go up. Saves walking, or makes walking faster. Nice. What more can you say about an escalator?

A popular place featured in many TV shows as well as in Hong Kong movies. Local people actually use these elevators for daily commute. In addition, you may wanna know that the direction these elevators run may switch twice a day. In the morning when people commute to work, they go down. After these hours, its changed to upward again.

All of the various "escalators" a one of those "must-do" activities for your visit to HK. Go up the easy way on the escalators, then go down the easy way on the stairs! The entire length is lined with pubs and restaurants that cater heavily to westerners. Then again, thats practically the whole city!

Elevated walkways going south up the slope from Central and HK stations. The escalators are a bonus but the key benefit is the elevated walkway, no need to cross many streets.Lots of shops, restaurants along the walkways. Its a real feature of HK island.Easiest way to find them is to start at IFC1 and walk south at the elevated level.

Apparently the longest escalator on earth. It was good and very convenient. We kept coming off it and shopping or going to pubs along it. Was good and a lot better than walking all way up on foot.

This is so cool! When you get to the top if you dont feel like walking all the way back down, you can get a green minibus on Conduit Rd (#3/3Awhich will bring you back down to Central (just hop on and tap your Octopus card like a normal bus), or walk a couple of streets back down to Robinson Rd where you can get various buses such as #12 to Central & Ferry Piers.

A must whilst in HK to experience what the locals do daily. Theres work on the escalator systems during 2018, which may mean one or two escalators are out during this time. This didnt spoil our ride, just have to use some steps. We went all the way to the top and then took the steps down and took a look around. Theres some great coffee shops along the escalator system, and the fruit & veg market runs parallel.

Quite a shame! An escalator can be a sort of tourist destination. Even so, this is a pretty good apparatus for pedestrians in a hilly city like Hong Kong.

Amazing set of escalators that you might not even know are even there.. they rise up pretty high and you may want to take a cab back down, as there are not stairs along with all the escalators which are reversed at different times of day..
