Convivial, modern-rustic American grill with a horseshoe-shaped bar, unique beers & craft cocktails.
Food and service were great, just a shame we found out they were gonna be closing.
Food is always good but the wait staff are amazing. Best place in the area.Update: Soon to be another Glendale casualty. I will miss CG terribly.
Huge Dissapointment.I NEVER show up last minute to a restaurant that is closing, but-It was 830p on a Saturday night. They close at 9pm.Several booths (maybe 5-8?were full of people mid-meal.I went in and said I just wanted a burger TO GO (in consideration for the staff).Nope. Manager says "THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED". 30 minutes before closing?!In a climate when restaurants and people in the service industry can really use support... its surprising and dissapointing.
It looked like a nice place to eat if we could understand the menu, too many unfamiliar dishes.
The side dish Brussel Sprout Salad should be its own main dish salad or starter salad. Its that good!
The restaurant serves no nonsense American food. The place is huge, great for social distancing. Love the tortilla soup and apple boysenberry crumble.
Amazing food! And Incredible Customer Service. Seriously we Loved this place. From the minute you walk in the door to the minute you leave. Everyone was so Awesome!!! Thank you so MUCH!!!š
Really nice place! Food was delicious and came to us hot! A bit pricy but a good place to bring family bcuz its classy and the decor is updated!
Awesome short rib plate. Nice, clean atmosphere. Great spot to watch a game with some good brews.
In Burbank this past Saturday, there were huge lines -2-3 hours at one place - and were wondering what to do next when we drove past Central Grille. We liked what we read in the reviews and decided to stop in. So glad we did. From the three different short rib dishes we got to the salads to the drinks to the service of Mike, we had a blast. And our party of 7 had the Sky Room to ourselves. We will be back!
Nice and cozy spot and the customer service was great! Martha our server was very nice and attentive. The food was really good too.
I am very impressed with the food. My mom and I got the short ribs, brick chicken, crispy truffle Brussel sprouts, and my mom got a cucumber-basil martini. Very kind staff, and Dylan, one of the waiters is very chill and kind, checkin up on us to make sure everything was good. The restrictions with COVID-19 were also very well handled, and made us feel great about interacting with people and returning to in-house dining. I am very pleased. We will definitely be coming back.
My mom and sisters came to this place to days in a row at the end of February while on vacation. Everything was awesome. The food, and the service were incredible. My mother fell in love with the truffle brussels sprouts!
Central Grille was a very pleasant surprise. We were in town for the weekend and staying at the hotel across the street. Our first night we incorrectly assumed that The Grille was just another burger place but thankfully I looked at the menu our second night and saw they have a great variety of food. The truffle fries are a must try! Service was great both evenings we had dinner there and they have a very nice drink menu as well if youre there for a cocktail. Well definitely be back if were in Glendale again.
Deliciously savory short rib hash Benedict, friendly service, and a hip environment makes for a great brunch spot without a long wait on Sunday morning. Would be happy to return, and thanks to Dylan for the great service!
Good food choices and bar area for drinkers. Nice ambiance. Our order had some issues but they still took care of us very well and really cared about us being happy with the meal. Despite that most definitely would go back and try other dishes and drinks. The service is superb on how they cared and they still deserve a 5 star for that and other foods were still very good.
Stylish little joint near the Glendale city center, right off the 134 freeway. Super delicious food, affordable pricing, friendly service, and a parking lot in back for convenience. If I lived closer, Iād probably eat here often.
Great find in Glendale! Staff treats you like family, and the food is delicious. We had the brick chicken which was so tender and juicy. The sliders were also perfectly cooked and tasty.
First time here! Breakfast was great and a great value as well. They have a full bar and their Bloody Marys were very good. The pancakes were big and fluffy! Simple good food! Cant wait to go back soon!
Family-friendly, good food, great service. We were a party of 4 that had just arrived to Glendale after 6 hours of driving and the Central Grille was just across the street from our hotel, so we picked it out of convenience. We had starters and mains and everyone were happy with their food. I had asked for my dressing to be served separately, but when served the dressing was mixed in. Our server, a lady, apologized when she found out, but I kept my salad anyway, since I didnt mind. My salad with added salmon was very fresh and delicious and it wasnt drenched in dressing (as I feared). I can strongly recommend the asparagus fries and the burrata salad! Service is quick and very attentive and they cafƩ layout is wheelchair friendly.
We got there still with a bit of jet lag, very convenient just across the Hilton ES. What a positive surprise, there is not a huge choice if food but what they serve is of excellent quality. The salats can be highly recommend, full of flavours and very fresh. I would always go back, way above average compared to other restaurant within the same price range.
We have been to this restaurant several times and always enjoy the food, particularly the short rib taco and also the short rib plate with delicious cheese potatoes and lightly sauteed veges. The only complaint last time was the almost raw parsnips in the vege medley. Even though I dont usually care for Brussels sprouts the Brussels slaw is really great. The service is always friendly, professional and efficient - especially Heather and Kaitlyn. We always get a zucchini bread to take home and sometimes the delicious carrot cake.
Today I went to Central Grille for the very first time. I had the oatmeal with banana strawberries and walnuts with brown sugar and dried cranberries. It tasted great and was very fresh. The coffee was very good and service was friendly. I love the parking because theres a lot of parking available behind the building.
Had the Brick Chicken. It was moist and tasty. Service as good. I want to try the breakfast menu one day soon.
Amazing food and the waiters are awesome! Would highly recommend!
Very nice atmosphere and good drinks, but Im not a fan of the food... it kind of feels like there is a limited anount of ingredients/seasonings or something that all the dishes are made of. I have visited this place many, many times (because of the locationand have sampled multiple dishes and somehow a lot of them taste the same??
I always enjoy the food here. They took the Califlower Orange "Chicken" off the dinner menu. Thats my favorite, but they were very accommodating and they made it for me and my uncle. This place is great for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Ive never had trouble parking and its very easy to see the building from the street.
It was my first (and, surely not my lasttime there and it was spur of the moment. I had their California Omelette, sans the tomato and mushrooms, and it was delicious. It was indeed one of the best spur of the moment decisions I have made in quite a while. A friendly greeting upon arrival with an equally pleasant server who was quite attentive. Foods great, service is great, prices are acceptable. Whats not to like??
Great choice of breakfast meals with a spicy options! Eggs Chorizo Tacos and yummy spices chilli etc. Plenty of American Joe and orange. Enjoyed a booth and watched the NHL... Our favourite. The team were so friendly and helpful. Good wifi and clean toilets - will return!!!
Fresh healthy food and upbeat light decor. I had the house made veggie burger that is perfect in texture and flavor with perfectly crisp salty fries not to be missed. Burgers and salads, fish and chips all good and definitely recommend the apple berry cobbler . Definitely worth a visit
I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here. Breakfast by far is the best meal they serve. Crunchy in the outside, soft on the inside hash browns, over medium eggs, fresh squeezed OJ are just about as good as it gets. They have a decent happy hour. Their staff has always been friendly and attentive. Never a long wait. Basically a solid place to eat.
It seems like breakfast everywhere is becoming absurdly expensive for one reason or another. $9 for two eggs, sausage, and 2 Belgian waffles is insane to me. But thats most breakfast at most restaurants these days. The insanity of it all. The most simplest meal is the most expensive. Anyways, regardless of this fact, the Belgian waffles were pretty darn good still. They were both light and fluffy, and tasted quite good even on their own. I didnt even put syrup on it, as it was sweet enough on its own. The eggs werent watered down, and the sausage even was less cheap feeling than many other lower end cafes and diners. All in all they do serve quite a good waffle, but it just is not worth the price tag. You get so little food for $9 that even though its a "special" youre still getting pretty ripped off.
Staying at the Embassy suites across the street, the Central Grille is perfectly situated to feed wary travelers with quality grubb. I ate here 3 nights in a row due to the quality of fresh ingredients, excellent service, and expansive menu. Highly recommended for the carnivores, vegetarians, and everyone in between; theres something for everyone here!
Clean and friendly staff. Food is good but nothing to write home about. The chicken tortilla soup had good flavor.
It was great loved what I got the bacon was a little crunchy pancakes were delicious and eggs are nice. The orange juice was cool
Great food, cocktails, and service. My omelet and Canadian bacon side were delicious. The Bloody Mary was also very good.If youre hungry for a good breakfast bring your appetite the portion are good sized.Buck CheshirePleasant Hill, CA
First ever visit to the Central Grille today. Four of us met for a business meeting over lunch. I was very impressed by the menu items we ordered and were served. Good portions, and fair pricing for the quality of the food items. Id consider this a step up from your normal casual eating establishment. Quality atmosphere too. Our service was also goid and attentive. I would highly recommend you give it a try today, I know Ill go back soon.
These two stars are for the decor. Really cute. I came here to celebrate a coworkers birthday. It was very crowded during lunch hour. We sat at the bar as there was an available table immediately. Bartender took our order and everything seemed okay... until my coworkers had finished their meals and I still hadnt received mine. It turned out my meal wasnt even ordered. Coworker went to complain to the hostess and was rudely dismissed... and hes a really nice guy. Forty five min after arrival (or so it felt since everyone was done eatingI ended up with a so so salmon dish that quite honestly I could have made better at home. And I had to endure everyone watching me eat. Two other people I was with looked like their dishes could have been good. Not sure if Id go back though. Its extremely rare for me to write a bad review (shameless plug for my other reviewsas I understand that things happen when it comes to crowds and food service. But every good restaurant gets busy and how they handle the pressure says a lot about the management and even the ownership. Two out of 3 of the staff we encountered were reasonable however the 3rd unprofessional person made the experience unpleasant and awkward. The manager seemed very busy helping the staff and was gracious in listening to our feedback so he can share these two stars with the decore.
I really enjoyed the food. I will recommend anyone who loves eating great food.
Wow! Shakers was good, but this place is great. I can tell they spent a lot of time and money designing this restaurant. Nice interior asd really good food. Unique menu items and full bar. The crispy fried Brussel sprouts were VERY good. Friendly staff too.
Work nearby and thought Id check out this new place. (I use to come here years ago when it was ShakersMy servers were great. It was during ones break but I still got quick, excellent and pleasant service. In other words they put up with my overt chattiness. I ordered a special...the Mediterranean salad. Did you know you can get zucchini bread as a bread option? Its like getting a free dessert! And, it was on par with my Moms so good on you Central Grille! The salad was delicious. Lots of textures and flavor so every bite had its own pop...imagine classic greek salad with a special pesto vinaigrette and some extras thrown in like pepperoni and grilled corn. Glad you are within walking distance, Central Grille, so Ill be back.
While staying at the Hilton, this Midwest boy had a hankering for a burger. Went to the Central Grille. Found their menu to be slightly more frou-frou than I expected, but then I found it... The cheese burger of my dreams. The aoli and white American cheese on their namesake Burger was simply amazing. Exactly what my taste buds were looking for. Ill be back next time, C.G.
How has my stomach ever survived without the Central Grille?A fairly new restaurant to join the evolution of food quality in Glendale, its already become a staple for myself and several friends in the area.Speaking of staples, you need need need, to try the Buttermilk Chicken Dinner if you are or ever have in any way enjoyed fried chicken. As for appetizers, the Crunchy Brussels will have you questioning the sanity of your taste buds as you devour every last delicious flaky bit. This spot also sports a solid tap selection with an excellent array of light beers, while sadly lacking a dark milk stout (just personal preference).Parking is free, and quite plentiful.Decor is homey, clean, and almost cozy with the feel of a high quality American diner. Booth seats are soft, and usually available.Great for 1st dates, or dinner with your S.O.Lastly, this spot is truly worth giving a shot, especially if you live in the area. Glendale will quickly become a gastronomic Paradise if spots like Central Grille can maintain their current standard.
Good neighborhood pub, friendly service.Food was good but not quite great. Very acceptable for the prices, but not quite gourmet. But far better than Shakers that used to be on this corner. Also a good beer selection. If you are after a friendly neighborhood brew pub, this place will cut it.
I went to the central grill with my wife to have dinner. The service was really good the food was a little bit Bland. The variety or the menu was not much. The admostphere was nice. Overall we had a good time good service and the food was mediocre mediocre. Theres room for improvement for the food and tablecloths would be a nice touch.
The menu had me salivating and then the food kept the promise. Brunch on Sunday allowed me to get some of the best Hawaiian bread french toast (perfect texture and flavorwhile my wife enjoyed a shirt rib sandwich. Add in friendly staff that were always there when we needed but not hovering, and I have zero complaints. Nice decor and parking out back. Come by for a meal, or just chill at the bar... youll be glad you did.
Really loving this place! I am obsessed with their braised short ribs. Super yum and big enough for me to have leftovers for a second meal. My husband loves their fried chicken sandwich. I also recommend the Kale, artichoke and cheese dip for an app. There is never too long of a wait for tables or for food. I am very pleased to have this new restaurant in Glendale and it has quickly become one of my favorite dinner spots. Highly recommend.
Stoped by for lunch today. Food was pretty good and the service was fantastic. Only complaint was that the fries tasted like they were cooked in the same oil as some sort of seafood. Overall pretty good.We had the California club sand which, truffle fries, devilish eggs, tortilla soup, and swiss & bacon sliders.
Had breakfast here on Fathers Day 2017. It is a bit pricy but the food is great! We had omelets and they were delicious and filling. They make zucchini bread fresh daily and it sells out quickly (Loaf is $5 with tax Definitely glad I came for breakfast and would come again when in the area. Friendly service, great ambiance, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The atmosphere is excellent, comfortable for lunch or a dinner / date. Judging from the burgers and fries, which are consistently excellent, the rest of the menu is something to look forward to. Its ashamed I cant take the restaurant back to Texas with me.
