Cedars Nature Centre - Zoo in Battersea, United Kingdom
Cedars Nature Centre in Battersea
Description
Had a great time with a VIP experience package as a birthday gift. Lots of interactivity with the animals. Very hands on. Favourite was being with the meerkats, very cute noises.
MoreMy friends got me a VIP tour of Cedars Nature Centre as a gift and I had such a lovely time. We were given a tour of all the animal enclosures and saw some unusual animals including Zorillas and Brazilian guinea pigs! We were able to interact with some of the animals, including the meerkats, skunk, armadillo and others. Rebecca who showed us around was so friendly and informative and was happy to answer any questions we had. A really enjoyable experience!
MoreRanger stu and the staff are all super knowledgeable and friendly. Good selection of animals for a nature centre including a skunk and armadillo. We did the meerkat experience which we loved....highly recommend!
MoreVery good for the kids and a nice walk if one does say so them selfs har har har
Nice big park with some history also has few animals which can learn about on talks
MoreThere are basically a few rats and mice to see here some meerkat and a fish tank
Lovely facility for young children - reasonably priced
Diverse selection of animals that are lovingly looked after, in terms of being a miniature zoo. The area is managed very well with respect to COVID; guidelines are all clearly set out and explained without making you feel unduly restricted. Perfect way to pass the time while contributing to the community, especially with the very reasonable price of admission.
MoreHighly recommend !Went last week for the meerkat experience Absolutely loved it Although only a small centre they had a few things wed never seen before like very vocal kookaburras and a skunk The keepers were all very helpful and knowledgeable about the animals and stood with us telling us all about them General entry to the centre is only £2 and the meerkat experience was £30 per personThe meerkat experience was great You spend 30 mins inside their enclosure with them and the keeper They are very friendly and inquisitive and climb all over you and at the end you get to feed them a bowl of vegetablesThere are several animal talks during the day that are free so there is always something going on Outside of the centre in the park is a cafe which we went to and had lunchWill definitely be going back
MoreLovely park good cafeteria& clean WC 😁
Lovely park got to feed the meerkats. The area is well kept well worth a visit.
Kind friendly staff, beautiful surroundings.
Nice little nature centre. Hence price of £2 and welcoming staff. Great for kids if you visiting Cedars park. The shows are timed so don’t miss them. There is not a lot of animals to see but you will definitely enjoy your visit.
MoreLovely area for families for a picnic day out!
Lovely outdoor environment for all ages to have lots of fun.
Very nice and clean park for a great walk and rest.
Beautiful place would be even better with more animals the staff were great
Had a good interesting day even tho it was raining. Nice cafe on site
Lovely little zoo, a wide variety of animals and reptiles and really knowledgeable keepers and volunteers.
MoreOh this is on my doorstep. 4 chn and such a fantastic day out. Excellent age appropriate talks at the petting zoo. The maze was loads of fun. The cafe reasonable and tasty. We are going back tomorrow as it rained.I will definitely try to organise a school trip.
MoreWe only spent a short time here but would love to go back again. Lots to keep the kids busy with a small petting zoo (cheap entry)
MoreReally beautiful well kept park. The nature corner was brilliant. The staff friendly, knowledgeable and the animals great! Although it is a small area the proximity you get to the animals makes up for the smallness of the area. The talks throughout the day and the option to come and go is perfect for families. Cafe friendly with an excellent choice of food, drinks and ice creams. We really enjoyed our visit to the park in its entirety.
MoreLovely place and well worth a visit. The talks they give on the animals are interesting and the staff are very friendly.
MoreReally nice little animal park with a good range of animals. Good for an hour in the park. Was also very cheap for two families. Would recommend if in the park. Staff where friendly too
MoreLovely park, lots to see and do for children, plus somewhere to eat and toilets. Dont forget the Lion, Camel and Elephant. Loved it +
MoreReally lovely way to spend an hour, great cafe and lovely surrounding park.Free parking is a bonus too.
MoreVisited for a “minibeast mayhem”; what a disappointment. Couldn’t see any animals/creatures because the mesh across the enclosures were so fine. Literally spent about 15 minutes in total there. Thank god the entrance fee was so cheap at £2 as otherwise id be asking for a refund.
MoreSmall zoo but good for children
Today I attended the Meerkat Experience with my dad, something he has always wanted to do. It was wonderful, an experience we wont forget !! All the staff were so friendly and made you feel so welcomed.Stuart from the time of my enquiry has been outstanding. He made it a little bit more special by taking the time out of his busy day to come and say hello, at the same time making a fuss over my dad.Miles, our Guide was knowledgeable and passionate about the Meerkats and animals in general.I couldnt recommend this enough !!
MoreGreat mini zoo, with friendly and very informative staff. Have taken the 2-4 year old there twice a year and she loves visiting to see the animals up close. One of the cheapest hour of animal fun you will find 😊
MoreThis park is lovely. Its always been a great place for kids and dogs and today was very busy with lits of people walking during lockdown. The cafe was open for takeaways too. We usually ear in as the food is good but today we sat on a bench and ate with our 2 year old grandchild. Very pleasant place.
MoreGreat albe it small animal centre. Great to spend an hour in if your at Cedars Park anyway. Not expensive and lots of friendly staff to aid you in your visit.
MoreGreat day out with the other half! Peaceful little place to go visit, lots of history behind it too if you love that sort of thing. Within these historic grounds (Cedars Parkthere is a small community zoo run primarily by Stuart Short who has a huge passion for the animals he is looking after and is on hand to answer any questions about the animals you may have. Great experience all round and very friendly!
MoreBeautiful gardens, a cafe onsite for ice cream, drinks and light meals. The small community farm is good for smaller children. Older kids will enjoy the outside play hill that you can climb up and slide or roll down. Artficial grass so no worries about clothing. You need to book for the farm.
MoreThe staff are friendly and helpful. They were able to accommodate us when we were running late for our time slot. The talk was very interesting and all in all worth your time, especially if you have young children (or a young heart).
MoreVery nice place well worth a visit. There is a cafe and lots of interesting information. You can get a cuppa and food
MoreNice little mini zoo, with quite a few animals. Staff are friendly and entertaining. There meant to be getting monkeys in at some point, but I think thats been delayed due to Covid. Theres a little cafe in the main park round the corner from Nature Centre. On park maps the Nature centre is marked as Pet Corner.
MoreThe kids really enjoy it and makes for a nice addition to the visit to the park.Losing a star since they enforced new prices making it difficult to justify visiting when you are visiting as a family especially when no events are happening and you pay the same amount. They need some kind of loyalty or membership fee.
MoreLovely place to visit. Can go in and out during your visit to cedars park as long as u get your hand stamped. Great staff to entertain during school holidays with a good knowledge of the animals in their care.
MoreMe and my 2 and a half year old boy went today, we stroked a skunk and an armadillo, fed some meerkats, saw a huge python, plus lots of other exotic creatures, and learnt alot too. Really friendly, funny and informative staff. Its not a big "zoo", but only cost £1 for my son and £2 for me, outstanding value! You get a stamp on your hand allowing you to leave, get some lunch, then re-enter without paying again. The nature centre is surrounded by a large park, we had a good run round and tried the maze, and had a bacon roll in the café next door. Thanks guys!!!
MoreAn excellent little animal park located inside cedars park. Cheap to get in with a small but varied selection of animals. Id recommended the meerkats and the python as standouts. The various shows they put on throughout the day are worth watching. Very enjoyable and worth visiting especially with children.
MoreLovely sunny day and was Mothers Day so Cedars Nature Centre was lovely for an afternoon out.We went into the tea room. Was quite disappointed with the cake selection. The chocolate cake was very dry. They had also run out of cream for the scones which really is a no no considering what day it was :(
MoreGreat park for pic nics and jus to relax. Only downside is there is no actual playground for kids to play however there is a big maze and a mountain thats been turned into a giant slide with astro turf, my kids really enjoyed that. Theres a cafe and public toilets are not too bad considering other parks facilities Ive used. An overall nice day out.
MoreThis isnt a zoo,it is more like a pets corner aimed towards children. Some less likely animals though, skunks and meerkats. Not hands on. Does some activities for youngsters. Doesnt charge for admission. Runs on donation. Please be generous and help these people out
MoreCedar park. And nature centre. Is very good. Nice to see the animals. Well looked after. And the park is well maintained. A nice walk for the dogs. And lots of room for the children to run around. Nice little cafe too.
MoreSo lovely to see how theyve re developed this little gem of a place. Even more amazing ro see it all done without any Government funding etc.Go support them as all the staff are lovely and genuinely make a real effort to entertain the kids.Good activities for half term Inc. The pumpkin trail and minibeast handling plus the feedings. Never thought Id be stroking a skunk!
MoreA great small but growing collection of familiar and unusual animals, free entry (donation encouraged), just outside Cheshunt. Very cooperative staff and volunteers help to explain the work they are doing. Highly recommended for families and fans of unusual animals. Cafe and toilets located nearby, within the same park.
MoreLovely park for dog owners and families. Came a great amount as a child, will always hold a special place in my heart. Good place of a picnic! Great historical buildings too.
MoreWe had a lovely walk in beautiful surroundings. There’s a few things for the kids to do at the end with a few dinosaurs and a grass maze. Also room for scooters and small bikes. There’s a cafe serving hot meals and sandwiches- we love their homemade cakes. The best bit for us is the Community Zoo. It’s a small zoo with some unusual and rare species of animals. It’s really improved over the last year and there are lots more changes happening. And it’s free although you can pay for a ‘keeper day experience’ if you wish.
MoreLovely park very beautiful and had an interesting zoo
