Cecconi's Amsterdam - Italian restaurant in Amsterdam, Netherlands
Party of 5. Great food, perfect service, great ambiance! Thanks and forza Tonio, the best waiter ever...!!
Good food in a beautiful setting, service can be slow but probably worth it for the people watching and varied menu
Tried to reserve a table on a Wednesday evening for Cecconis, although we were advised the earliest time they could seat us would be 9:30pm, although the woman advised we "come back at the time you want to eat as we reserve spaces for walk ins".. Fantastic I thought! We came back a couple of hours later to see if they had any tables and were advised by a different server that they were only seating reservations and no walk ins... Absolute waste of time!
For such a high standard hotel it was a little bit of a sad experience. Quality of food was really not good and the service ok. I have been before where I know service was on point and the food really good. It lost its charm even though location is super cool.
Had amazing time here. Food was outstanding and delicious; it’s really hard to find a place with good food in Amsterdam. Ambiance is stunning and I love how spacious this place is unlike other restaurants in Amsterdam. Price were typical Amsterdam. Light dinner for two with drinks, starter, main course and cocktail around 110€. Staff was incredible, every single one of them. True meaning of hospitality. Will be back!
It was ok, staff are friendly but I wanted risotto, they told me there was no risotto. And an hour later the lady sit beside me had the risotto…
A very nice upmarket restaurant. Unfortunately we had a rushed visit for lunch between trips that we organised, The pizza and the risotto were really tasty.
Too loud inside. Impossible to hear each other, not even mentioning the live music. Possibly it was a busy saturday night, but…Food was not good either. Calamari with so much paprika seasoning. Risottois oossibly one of the worst I have ever eaten. Not cooked rich, overcooked mushrooms and meaningless sauce or juice. Cacio e Pepe was too heavy. Disappointed, not recommended in busy days at least.
Great atmosphere, amazing service and delicious pizza&cocktails.
Food was ok, calamari coated with smoked paprika making it taste bitter. Service was great until 55 mins in when we were politely told our table was needed in next 10-15 mins for other guests.
The food is good but the service is not good. Bit dont get me wrong, all the waiters are amazing and professional, but they need at least 5 to 10 more to be hired to give you the best experience that you are expecting from a five stars restaurant!! 😬
Beautiful place, smiled staff, good food, slow on bringing drinks.
Nice place, located in the Soho House hotel, with a great ambiance. Very classic Italian menu and an impressive wine list. We visited on a Tuesday evening and the place was packed.Service OK-ish, the waiter did what he could, but clearly they could have used some extra staff for the number of tables. Food quality excellent, as well as the cocktails (Negronis). The only downside: at midnight exactly, all lights went to 100% brightness: the Dutch way to tell people they really have to leave. Would have been nice to know that when we ordered two more drinks just five minutes before..
Food an interior are nice. Nice selection of wines. Good cocktail menu. Enormous portion of pasta 🙈 Hostess with red hair was very friendly and welcoming.
The decor of the restaurant is beautiful. The service and food were good, but not amazing. However, we got recommended to add the truffle to all our pastas and risottos. Only to find out afterwards that they charged €25 surcharge per dish for a tiny bit of truffle. I thought this was outrageous and almost criminal to not mention that clearly when ordering.
We order at the bar without a reservationService Good and quick Gianlucca was very friendly
super great staff, great music, great environment, great thanks for letting us know the ‘right’ desert to take and on top of it… for free! the spot is lovely. did enjoy a lot, we stayed for almost 3h! went for dinner.
Beautiful vibin place.Came without a reservation on a Friday night and was lucky to get seats by the bar. Live chill music played in the lounge. We were taken care of by Matteo - who was the absolute best for giving everyone good attention and care, even on a busy night. Thank you for a pleasant experience Matteo.Cocktails and food were great. Will come back again.
Cozy Italian restaurant. The pizza is superb
Amazing dining and cocktail experience in their signature contemporary Italian restaurant Cecconi’s. Beautiful, stylish, modern, but still breathing history.Special thanks to their F&B department who took very good care of our tables.Big thank you to the managers, bartenders, chefs and other staff for such a warm welcome and great service.Special thank you to bartender Filip from Croatia for making an epic drink for me.I will recommend, and I will be back!Thank you Team Soho House Amsterdam ❤️
Very friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Enjoyed our food.Just not a fan of the lounge area. Especially if you are going to eat and not just to have drinks. The table was super small and we were seated on single sofa like chairs which were super low and my knees did not feels great after being folded like that for 1hr+.
I’ve visited almost every Cecconis and 95% had been the best dinner of a trip. This visit was not only the worst Cecconis experience ever. But the worst dinner of Amsterdam. service was slow but rushed food. Immediately after ordering apps and our dinners one random dinner arrived, a pasta dish, they we slowly ate after finally getting some small plates delivered. Then the appetizers showed up. Drinks are empty, empty plates are on the table then the other dinners arrive. We finish the dinners with a mess of a table then the pizza we ordered to start the appetizers, arrives.Dinners a mess and everyone is slightly disappointed. Myself, very disappointed since I brought everyone there to show them a good time. They gave a free tiramisu to apologize for the timing of everything and the kitchen being disorganized but no one ate it since it tasted stale. Myself still hungry, ate it. I paid left a tip and left.About 7 hours later, I wake up to a rumble and an immediate urge to use the toilet . Long story short. Food poisoning. Lasted 2 days and drs said it was from that dinner. My experience : meal sucked- service sucked- and I got food poisoning. Never going here again.
More often than not it seems impossible for a restaurant that branches out abroad to stay true to itself, however Cecconi’s is the exception to the rule. You get the most Italian, genuine attention to detail outside of Italy, and to me that makes it the best Italian restaurant in all of Amsterdam.
Went to Cecconi’s last week and it amazing! The food was perfect and the serving staff was so kind
Delicious Italian food especially the burrata/ calamari/ the veal chop
The vibes was cool. The staff are fast and smart, they check you and your table each time from distance to make sure that you don’t need anything..all the dishes were amazing
The best Italian restaurant in a long time.. real pasta / pizza..the calamari.. something new that I have never tasted like before with paprika powder. Nice ambiance and service.. I will definitely come back to it soon ..
Located in the Soho house, beautiful restaurant with very relaxing atmosphere
Talk about casual fine dining ! Outstanding atmosphere, mellow mood after 👌 cocktails, entrées and desserts. Attention to detail, professionalism and hospitality at its finest. Ask for Hannah to be your host, she is the most caring, lovely smiling cameriera I have met in Amsterdam - best of all, knows the menu items inside out 🙂
We enjoyed our evening at Cecconi’s because of the nice atmosphere and nice food. But some of the staff were very unprofessional. Most of them don’t speak Dutch and some even bad English.Lots of mistakes by the staff . Bringing the food which was for the other table or drinks for another customer. I expected better service for such a nice restaurant.Very chaotic atmosphere by the staff.Food tasted very nice but i think it is overpriced. The pasta was delicious and the calamari as well.
I dont know what they wanted to do, but you can feel the Dutch hunger here, stuffy, small tables to get as much space as possible, bad experimental cocktails, this is far from Italian style and level
I was expecting a better service for the price. The order took at least 45 mins to arrive and when it did it was the wrong order (I orderedGluten free pasta). It took a further 20 mins to make my dish, therefore me and my partner had to eat separately. When we tried to order desert the kitchen was closed. This was all due to the delays in our service! We were not even offered anything to compensate for their error. Not recommended!
Highly recommend, I very much enjoyed my birthday dinner here. Staff is friendly and professional. You get fine-dining service but with a casual atmosphere and delicious Italian food. And both the restaurant and its guests all looked amazing.
The food was wonderful and the staff where amazing friendly and professional! I can only recommend this place
The place looks very cosy and the food smells good, but unfortunatly they wont let us try it. Restaurant is supposed to be opened until 00:00, but when we came at 22:00, a very unpleasant girl told us the kitchen was closed. One minute later she set up a table for 6 persons! Plenty of tables were still available and we could see the cook still working in the kitchen. Yet we were just 2 persons, clean and well dressed lol. But this lady at the entrance, so unpleasant and rude. You know this kind of persons who doesnt realize that the place needs customers to live. Shame on her, and shame we could not try this beautiful place.
The food and the service was very average - overpriced for what you get. The staff kept on coming to our table, taking away food while it was not finished or just in general not being very service-oriented. The place is cosy and nice though, so I would only recommend coming there for drinks.
The interior is super beautiful, but foodwise I was very disappointed. When you order a tuna tartar you woul expect at a place like this for it yo be served nicely and not just dumped on a plate. I mean, it was not bad, but it was not special or rememberable. Probably best options (worth your moneywould be to order their pizzas, they looked nice. Also, I had the pannacotta, it was not that good either :(
Excellent design, nice atmosphere and great food. The service, however, was completely spoiled by a floor manager who insisted on forcing us to pay twice throughout our dinner.Random excuses as tabs that had to be closed and other tables that paid on our behalf (?created a Kafkaesque scene: halfway our dinner a waiter insisted on payment and blamed us for not appreciating the urgency of her situation. A second forced payment while having drinks finished it off.Not even close to the service one would expect from a place like this.
The restaurant is located in a historical building which makes the perfect setting for this kind of place. You just have to look a bit to find this gem. Once you entered this marvellous restaurant you will be blown away from the interior. A lovely mix of great Gatsby & Godfather vibes. The staff knows very well how to entertain the guests. The fresh made pasta is the absolute highlight of the food in this restaurant, if you have a palate that can separate nuances in food then I would definitely recommend this Italian venue.
Great atmosphere, really nice place with people that want to be seen. However the food is not that great. Ordered a pizza with truffeles, however there was no truffles taste. The service took this remark very professional and we felt well understood. It is a great place to have a drink, watch people and listen to the piano player.
Cocktails is good! Best in town. Food so en so. Good service, staff is very attentive.
Nice ambience, good service, food was good as well but not over the top.. Only tiramisu was exceptional..
Cecconis has long been a favourite dining haunt of international jet setters. The brainchild of Enzo Cecconi, the youngest ever General Manager of world renowned Cipriani in Venice, he opened Cecconis Mayfair, London in 1978. His blend of innotive and exciting north Italian cuisine, based on traditional recipes passed down from generation to generation, was an instant success, attracting royalty, heads of state, actors, performers, captains of industry and gourmets. Now part of the Soho House Group, the restaurant rapidly expanded with branches throughout the world including Barcelona, Berlin, Istanbul, Melbourne, Miami Beach, Mumbai, New York, West Holywood and beyond.Cecconis reputation is based on mouth to mouth recommendation and one could easily be forgiven for being unaware as to Cecconi Amsterdams existence. It is hidden in plain sight within the 1930s Bungee Building on Spuistraat, opposite the trendy Cafe Schuim. There is nothing in the form of advertising boards or neon signs. Discretion is part of the appeal.Entering through the buildings period revolving doors, is like stepping into another world. The restaurant is immaculately decorated in art deco style, with an amazing ambience. Plants grow on beams under the glass ceiling, creating an alfresco effect. A grand piano is regularly used to provide live entertainment. There is an elegant bar serving great cocktails. Best seats are at the rear of the establishment which have wonderful views over the Singel canal. As to be expected, service is impeccable with super friendly waiting staff. The all day dining menu features a number of home made pasta dishes, including mouth-watering Spaghetti with lobster and chilli, wood oven pizzas, carpaccio, tartare and a modest choice of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes prepared on wood and charcoal. There is a great selection of wines to accompany. If the purse strings will allow, the Barbera dAlba from Piedmont is highly recommended. Its a great spot for a group brunch or dinner; Not cheap, but thats to be expected.
The most amazing Italian restaurant in the city! 🤩 I would highly recommend it for its food, which was delicious, also for the wine and its cocktails! 🍷🍹The place was so comfortable and very nice decorated for the Christmas holidays. 🎄 I would like to congrats the chef and his team and of course the staff, who they were quick, friendly and very helpful! 👏👏👏
Cecconis is a really nice Italian restaurant with beautiful decor and super tasty food. The staff were all lovely and the jazz music throughout the night was a nice touch to relax through dinner.
Waitstaff was more than doting, and the food? As good as any Italian Ive had in upscale restaurants in America, so... Recommended.
First time visit, and we only life on a 5m walk, we just walked in for a Sunday coffee and where welcomed with a big smile and enjoyed our coffee in the beautiful Cecconis restaurant. The whole atmosphere is relax and pretty. Super friendly staff and great service.Next time we stay for dinner.Highly recommended.
Food is good but pricy.Great atmosphere, friendly staff but slow service. Don’t go if you’re in a hurry to have a quick lunch, Do go if you’re keen to enjoy some quality time with friends.
Classy restaurant with great Italian food. The risotto was so delicious! It’s more pricy than a standard Italian restaurant but worth the experience.
The food was average. The service was above average and the staff were friendly. The time from when you order until the food came was acceptable. The atmosphere was nice. Would i come back? Maybe / maybe not...
