Cayman Cabana - Restaurant in George Town, Cayman Islands
Nice view right on the water. Umbrellas and fans. Beer was 8.25 a bottle. Enjoyed it.
Our server Sean was outstanding! He provided us great insight regarding the best options on the menu to choose from. He did not steer us wrong. The fish was some of the freshest I have tasted on the island. Best local farm to table cuisine! Must try!!!
Such a fun hang-out spot and nice place to grab a drink. But dont overlook their menu. Amazing from breakfast to lunch menu. Deliciousness. We even were entertained by a bit of a magic show by our friendly, & comical bartender. We stopped in 2017 & 2022.
This place was the best restaurant we went to in Cayman. We sat Oceanside with incredible service from Sean. Our food was even better - so fresh and delicious! We are going back tomorrow and every time we come to Cayman in the future!
One of the ONLY places on the island to get whole fish. I searched far and wide before landing on this gem!Everything is great!
One of the best place for local Delicacy ,drinks & perfect seaside view. Located in heart of George town!
Luigi, the owner came upto to our group to personally welcome us and explain the menu and their promotions all weekend long!We came in as a chaotic group of 10 needing food and shots, and this place delivered! Margarita shots, Mamacita Margaritas (which won 1st at a recent margarita contest!), and the fry bread were highlights of our meal. They have live music, dancing, and drink specials until midnight. I cannot recommend enough!
You absolutely have to visit this place if are you in the Cayman Islands. We were greeted by Luigi—the owner—who was very gracious and friendly. He helped us many times throughout our visit and was just awesome. The food was also fantastic, everything was totally fresh and delicious. Would highly recommend!
Food was great (fish taco was on the dryer end, still delish, but the shrimp taco was perfect, atmosphere was stunning, drinks were amazing. The mamacita (a spiced mango margaritawas delicious. And our waiter, Sean, was outstanding. Planning on coming back!
Great view of the ocean! Some popular menu items are not available (conch and lobsterand the service took so long (still waiting on his drinkthe waitress is dismissive and lack luster at best! Remember your currency exchange rate and they add 18% gratuity automatically weather or not the serviceis good!1 hr 48 minutes later!!!!!!!! Update.... we never ate! His drink never came! Our ship has to leave... and were both hangry! Truly disappointed 😞 Dont go here unless you have all day to waste! My 1 drink $17.50 USD with gratuity (Yes the drink in the picture👎
Good food. Friendly server. Terrible service. We asked on 3 different occasions for water. Finally, after 20 minutes, the bartender brought us warms bottled water and charged us $3/bottle. Totally uncalled for in my opinion. The server also messed up my order and brought me the wrong rice side. She also forgot to bring one of the kids drinks. It seemed the bartender was the main obstacle I. The service as he seemed more interested in talking with friends than serving the restaurant patrons. Assuming the service improved I would return to the restaurant. They were very nice and friendly and the food was overall excellent.
Great food, service is good, a bit slow. Their main dish, jerk chicken was not available, but overall it’s great.
OMG! BEAUTIFUL OCEAN FRONT VIEW AND........THE BEST FRIED RED SNAPPER ON THE ISLAND!!!! I had Plaintains, Rice and beans and salad! They have a great selection on the menu as well. My husband and I have gone everywhere....seriously! Ignore Google they ARE OPEN ON MONDAYS! Best service! Food was promptly delivered by Shaun....hes the best! The staff seriously hustle here. Ask for him! I am returning!!
Stopped in for a quick late day snack and drinks. The atmosphere is wonderful located right on the beach near the water its quite beautiful! I had a very refreshing 7 mile crush (which was delightful! We ordered wings, wahoo and tuna tacos, ceviche, and conch fritters. Honestly the food was very basic.... Heres the breakdown... the fish was flavorful but cooked to the point where it was on the dry side, the conch fritters were chewy. Lastly the ceviche was by far the best dish out of everything we ordered. But did lack a little in the flavor department. Our server was kind, outgoing and attentive. So overall wed give 3 out of 5 stars.
The bar staff here is fantastic. So friendly and personable. We had fresh red snapper blackened. Possibly the best fish weve ever had. Definitely the best part of our Grand Caymans experience.
The blackened snapper was fresh-caught and to die for!! The rice was the best Ive ever had, and the plantains were sweet and cooked to perfection. Stop here for some phenomenal local cuisine!
One of my favorite restaurants in G. Cayman. Fantastic sunset, friendly staff and oh God, you should try every fish on their menu. I love the res snappers cooked on steam.
Excellent experience - were looking for casual, on the water and local cuisine for a late lunch and this is exactly what we got. Fish is purchased daily next door from fisherman. We had the fish tacos both with snapper & shrimp, the local fish grilled (also snapper), the fish & chips, the ital buddha bowl - all excellent and definitely fresh. Service was also excellent (thank you Ankit!!). And yes the setting awesome to sit and peer out over the bay.
Stopped in on a whim today. Had read about the restaurant and wanted to try for dinner but ran out of them. So glad to have stopped in for lunch. The freshest seafood I ate all week on the island. The blackened snapper dish was perfectly prepared. Served with rice and beans, a side salad and plantains. Highly recommend- beautiful spot on the water in Georgetown. A band was setting up to play live music. A perfect last lunch on the island!
Excellent service. My wife and I were just there at end of March for my birthday and we were the first post-covid customers. Food was excellent and service was spectacular. Hands down the best fried snapper Ive ever had. Highly recommend!
Only 4 stars because the service was a bit slow, but the food is really good. Worth the wait. Nice view of the ocean and your cruise ship, you can sit at the bar, or at a table, which are located on varying levels of a patio.
Out of all the restaurants in Grand Cayman this one takes the cake hands down. The staff is super friendly and jovial, the bartender is amazing and even prepared a custom cocktail for me! The food is amazingly fresh and flavorful! Beers are cold, smoker friendly! Wow!!! I wish I could leave this place 10 stars! Prices are so very reasonable and portions are great!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Food was amazing - I had fish and chips with fresh caught tuna wahoo and a great pain killer adult beverage.Wifey had fish tacos with blackened tuna. Both were amazing but what was better was the service from our bartender and local guide info from owner Luigi.Very personable, friendly and informative.HIGHLY recommend.
Excellent food once we got it - but holy hell it took forever. We are talking fish tacos here, not a fine wine. Again, if you have the time (~45 to 60minto wait for two orders of fish tacos, then it’s absolutely worth it. If they were faster they would be rolling!
Absolutely disgusting. The staff is texting on their phones ignoring customers and the food we got was gross. Theres a couple of tents of men fileting fish and dumping chum into the water right next to the restaurant. Not sure what happened to this place but it was not like what the other reviews pictured or wrote about. Sadly disappointing and fish tacos tasted like old socks.
Great place, awesome service...Sabrina is great! The seafood boil is amazing if you like spicy! 🤤🤤
What a great place! Highly recommend a visit here the drinks and food are outstanding with a really reasonable price point. The food felt really fresh and tasty and the staff really went out of their way to make you feel welcome! Ask about their really cool t-shirts too!
Best fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life. Fresh caught fish from the market next door! And not a bad view! 💋
Cayman Cabanass food is underrated. There is nothing on their menu that did not taste like it was made with 100% love. I now rate this as my favorite breakfast spot because the quality is exceptional. The customer service and price are also excellent.
Cayman Cabana can be described in one word..."passionate!" Luigi, Christina and their staff are passionate about friends and family. They are passionate about their partnerships with local farmers and fishermen, which enables them to fulfill their dreams of serving the finest of local fair (farm to tableto their guests. They are passionate about their creations. No "cookie cutter" island menu, here...this is native Cayman, infused with unbridled, yet delicate imagination. Lastly...they are passionate and personal about serving you and making it an experience you will never forget. It starts with a handshake and ends with a hug...every time!Dont wait on Thursday, but dont miss Thursday.Cayman Cabana is #1 on the island.
This place was great! Several locals recommended this spot because of how fresh their food is. They were not lying. The fish and chips and conch (rawsalad was great!
Came here for lunch before heading to the airport. Its right next to the cruise port which made it easy to grab a cab when we were done dining. We sat in an elevated area near the bar. Before seating is the host asked where we would like to sit and when we pointed to the elevated balcony area he said that was fine but didnt follow us with menus or inform us that we would need to order from the bar. I quickly figured it out on my own and grabbed menus from the bar. The rest of the experience was lovely. Great view of the water and yummy fish tacos. All the ingredients tasted fresh. The local fish of the day was wahoo which is a nice white, meaty fish. My friend and I each enjoyed a plate of tacos and we shared a side of plantains. I wouldnt necessarily go out of my way to return to this place but its a nice place to stop and grab a bite and/or drink if your already in the area.
We went to the Thursday’s farm to table and the whole experience was just amazing ! The food was delicious and it just kept on coming. The atmosphere and vibes were amazing! Definitely something different and fun to try! Definitely coming back and bringing more people
Delicious, fresh caught fish. You can definitely tell the difference versus frozen fish. Little pricey but worth it. And the view of the water right off the pier is amazing!
Delicious food, great views, friendly staff. What more do you need? Oh I know, locally sourced ingredients! They have it all. Stopped in for brunch and was not disappointed. The poached eggs are perfect and the fresh made juice is the perfect accompaniment to the warm ocean breeze. Highly recommend.
We got the $40 fried snapper and it was fantastic. Couldnt finish it between two of us, but we gave it our best shot.
Friendly staff and nice view but the food is crazy expensive. $100 for an appetizer, shrimp salad and an entree with 2 sodas. Thats a bit much.
Had the oxtail Benedict- was delicious! They offered coconut bacon as a bacon alternative.Service was a little slow, but it was a quiet Sunday.Great location overlooking the water
Currently watching a very friendly rooster wander around our table. He has eaten everything weve tried to feed him. This place is awesome. The staff is amazing and so friendly. Theres free, fast wifi. The food is stellar, well seasoned, and has a wide range to suit everyone in your party. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the view.If I ever come back to the island, 10/10 would eat here again.
Waterfront with plenty of shaded seating. Locally sourced produce and fresh fish inspired meals. Fast friendly staff. Adjacent a small beach cove in the center of town.
We entrusted Cayman Cabana with the biggest event of our lives and the night was a dream come true. We were apprehensive about planning a destination wedding from the States, but Christina and Luigi were enthusiastic and attentive from the start. The were receptive to all of our ideas and guided us through the whole process. The food was absolutely incredible. It can’t get any fresher than the farm-to-table service at Cayman Cabana. Not to mention the gorgeous Caribbean backdrop. The view speaks for itself! Our guests had the time of their lives. Many of them told us with confidence it was the best wedding they’ve been to. If you want a fun and memorable wedding, Cayman Cabana is the place!
Friday $2 tacos are the bomb with so many options from roasted pumpkin, Catch of the Day fish, oxtail, jerk chicken which went good with the Friday night special of passion fruit margarita
Awesome!! We covered the entire menu...burger, chicken strips, fish and fritters and everything was delicious! Oh and the drinks are great too! Nice view too!
Excellent food, I highly recommend the fresh catch of the day. It took a little longer than I expected to get our food but it was worth the wait, just get a cocktail and enjoy the outdoor patio and view of the water.
Come after work often, but today we came for breakfast early on Sunday. Great selection, good sized portions and not too busy either. Easy parking behind the shops opposite.
Fab place to eat and drink, great people working the bar and good for snorkelling next to the dive centre. Highly recommend, the Tarpon are huge + Rays, blue tangs, parrot fish ++++
Great spot to hang out, grab a bite to eat and have a few drinks. The staff is great and very friendly. They have the best conch fritters Ive ever had.
Freshest fish on island. Literally 10 feet from the fisherman. Delicious meal. Fantastic staff. George the bartender hooked us up with some kids who were fishing and they let us throw in a line after dinner. Fantastic drinks. Dont miss this place. We will be back this week for sure
From the many restaurants that we ate at during our stay here at the Cayman Island, this restaurant was by far one of our favorites. The food was phenomenal and everything was bursting with freshness. To start off we got the Spicy Soco Shrimp and the Drunkin Rum shrimp, both were very good. I also got their Zucchini Soup that has more of a creamy texture to it and it was delicious. For our main dish my husband, son and I all ordered Snapper with a variety of sides. The fish was fresh from that day, packed with flavor and perfectly cooked with just enough moisture. The same freshness carried over into the sides ranging from the plantains to the salad with mango and their signature mango dressing. The salad was very light and refreshing. My daughter and her friend ordered the Local Rum BBQ chicken and they said that it was cooked very well and the BBQ sauce was remarkable. We topped off our meal with Mango Cheesecake. I was a little weary since cheesecake can be a hit or miss but this one was delicious. It was light, fluffy and not too sweet.Luigi (the ownerwas able to give us his undivided attention and accommodate to our many different needs because we have some picky eaters in the family. He made sure to check up on us to see if we were enjoying our food and even shared some of his knowledge about the island. Luigi gave us a whole list of activities and events to do during the day and night, as well as other restaurants and bars that we had to visit while on our visit. Overall great food, right one the waterfront. It was easy to kick back, relax and enjoy the breeze as you overlooked the water.
Best local dinner experience on the island! Great fresh locally sourced courses! Well worth it 👍👍
