Cayley Flyer - Pub in Llandudno, United Kingdom
The pub will be refurbished at time of visit, so not so many choices of drinks nor cocktails. Even something to eat has gone already. Will review again after refurbishment.
Very friendly welcoming pub, definitely worth a visit, dogs welcome. Didnt have any food there but from what I saw looks really good,
Apparently a New Landlady π You can tell π For the good π
there was grit in the bottom of pints, strongbow tasted off and got our order wrong. toilets were awful
The carvery was discussing the beef was under cooked two roast potatos one parsnip a few thick cut carrots π₯ and gravy Β£13.50 each wont be going there again
Went today wife had battered haddock in a toasted bun with a few peas and a few lettuce leaves ,served on a piece of Slate no bigger than 6 inches by 3 inches and a basket of Frozen chips , I had supposedly was thy red vegetable curry which turned out to be a few sliced Boiled potato in a Wishy Washy sauce / soup , when asked by the waiter did we enjoy our meal I said it was Bland and tasteless , certainly not Curry ,he just took our crockery away NO APPOLOGY !! Never again π π
2 stars . No more
This place is nothing short of a dump. The toilets are minging and look like they never get cleaned. God knows what the kitchen is like.
The young cheerful staff on duty this afternoon make up for the boring decor, keep them on board.
Nice little pub and decent drinks prices.
Lovely traditional pub with a huge warm welcome. Great music and delicious food which was reasonably priced. Toilets a bit messy but it was late in the day. Definitely worth a visit, and we will certainly go back.
Beer was fine but disappointed that food was limited to sandwiches and rolls.
Huge portions of roast dinner! Beef was lovely, the lamb was tender. Had small portions and we were all full. Glad we found it right at the end.
Had a refreshing pint of "Strongbow" in the "Caley" Flyer. Nice pub. @ Rhos on Sea..π»πΊπ»
My Wife and I arrived late on Sunday afternoon with our Two lads, one of there girlfriends and there Son of 18 months old.Oh and our dog Roxy the Saffie. The wife and I had a beautiful beef roast.Lovely vegetables and chips too, with lovely meat. The lads are like usual teenages; fussy! The Chef at the Cayley Flyer made up Chicken burgers and chips for them including girlfriend and the grandson had chicken nuggets, which he loved. We had Cider,Copperberg and Cokes, Lateand a Hot chocolate which were all lovely. Its our second time here whilst Staying in Rhos on SeaThe staff who served us were lovely tooThe food and drinks were excellent. This is the second time we have been here whilst Staying at Rhos on Sea and we know we know we will come here again.Thank you very much.
Quick service, very good selection of food and drinkπ
The worst meal we have ever had. We went with 2 kids. They werent even busy and we waited for food for ages. The food well it was horrendous clearly smelt un fresh and was under cooked we had chicken burger and beef burger. All the fries were full of fat as if they been cooked twice. Dont waste your money.
The pub was dead not many customers in the pub at all.Staff constantly on their phones Both me and my husband ordered some food Steak and chips which was awful the presentation was disgusting and the steak had been cooked in microwave .The fish tasted old .The food was awful .Told member of staff about this and they didnt respond or even offer money back or another meal .Would not recommend this place to anyone in the future.
Went here for food ordered fish butty and chips when it came the bread was mouldy I went to complain staff very apologetic and offered do it again and free cup tea great . Meal came back on same plate bread green mould again could not believe it happened again unreal got money put back on card which hasnt gone on yet but minus the cups tea which I questioned to be told only meal paid back as the manager said so wont be going back here ever again very disappointed
Great food, but quite a long wait
Great location, called in today at lunch time unfortunately the toilets were in a shocking state, I dont think they have been cleaned from the night before
Had a delivered Sunday dinner, wed been out walking couldnt be bothered cooking. Was pleasantly surprised by this. Really well done honey roast veg and perfectly cooked gammon. Probably the best Ive had in the area. Dont do many reviews but this was well above expectations so I thought Id make the effort.
We had to wait a while to be served, it looked like no one knew what they were doing. But they did put football on for me and they were polite, but theres never anyone behind the bar. Its a shame because its in a great place , really need to look at staffing issues.
Avoid ! Nearly 1.5 hr wait to get cold food and with food on my plate that I asked not to as I have an allergy and then to be abused by staff and called a liar to then find out out a member of staff flicked gravy in my dogs face ! The abuse from staff left me upset AVOID AVOID AVOID
Friendly enough welcome, food service seemed to take an age. Pet dislike the beans were cold, at best slightly aired. Otherwise it was OK.
Unbelievable this was was presented as a full adult Sunday roast absolutely shocking.
Lovely sea front pub in prime position, we have never had any issues on our visits here, service has always been good and has a decent range of ales. The conservatory styled restaurant area away from the bar lounge looks ok, but have only ever visited for a drink to watch the world go by along the promenade, or to enjoy live sports here, so cannot comment on the food experience. Atmosphere is friendly with a local feel to it, overall we enjoy visiting this pub.
Im sorry. I really wanted to enjoy thisI Had been promised this was amazing. Immediately disappointed with cold, soggy chips and onion rings, whilst the SF chicken was a little dried out - albeit, tasted as expected. The vegan burger could have been great, if it wasnt so overcooked.Have to point out that on this occasion, we ordered home delivery, so hope that what is received in-house is better. Delivery was late by 20 minutes, but had been contacted because the restaurant couldnt find or address, and the vegan slaw was missing from the burger.
Friendly staff pleasant placeOnly whent in to get take out coffees and drinking chocolateThe staff and the customers very friendly and welcoming will Bob in when next in the area
Sorry not one to put a place down but really didnt like the place, two young people behind the bar didnt really know what they were doing, ordered food kids meals were fine but mine wasnt much to wright home about. I had a curry , rice was over cooked and sloppy and full of black pepper corns which took an age to take out , nam bread wad cooked in a microwave because it went rock had with in minute. Sorry but will not return...
Lovely gardens..Tea room and gift shops.Plenty of parking and toilets
Not impressed.....booked a table specially for a post covid restrictions catch up with old friends. Arrived at the pub as planned to be told that the chef had night off and kitchen closed. Staff checked the diary and I heard her say woops. I wont bother going there again.
Turned up on my bike,, was promptly served. Great staff. The one with long hair setting up the big screen was cute.
Very poor meal. Chips looked like they had been re cooked and were so dark they didnt even resemble chips. Cole slaw was warm. The young waiter was so friendly and professional, this was the only positive.
Staff worked hard. Despite some over exaggeration by some guests and quite frankly had to put up with some rudeness. But overall the service was a little slow but it was explained before we ordered and the food was lovely when it arrived . Keep up the hard work and keep trying youll get it right soon .
Food not brilliant. Burgers were not cooked properly, hand cut chips were average to say the least. Some were so thin you could almost see through them, others were thicker but hard in places. Very disappointing. We were seated outside at the back of the pub, a good sun trap but whichever way you looked there were white painted walls or doors, this could have been so nice with a bit of thought, plants etc Staff were very young, helpful and enthusiastic.
Β£5 for a pint of Stella, i wont be going there again, its tantamount to extortion. Theres no atmosphere, i found it a boring experience. I can get 4 pint cans of Stella in my local off licence for Β£6 50. That shows how extortionate the Cayley.
Food was cooked perfectly and the staff were very well mannered and very helpful.
Sadly, not as good as it used to be, service was slow and the meals were not something we would go back for. Apparently a new chef but poor excuse for the meals serves
Worst food I have ever been served. Under cooked chips. Old brown warm salad. Staff were useless.
Dirty toilets, paper over the wet floor, the flattest yorkshire puddings, slow service (hardly anyone in the place), veg good choice but badly cooked. Meal served before cutlery arrived and wasnt hotStaff not well organised. Disappointing.
Service not good today on our visit. We was part 2 familys visiting 4 adults and 5 children. When we arrived we was told someone would be over with menus and to take drinks order... It took 20 mins for drinks order to be taken and also a further 30 mins for the drinks to arrive. When we ordered food eventually and after 1hr 45mins meals came out incorrectly and meals where missed. Onions on meals ordered without, burnt batter on fish, very greasy childrens nuggets and a full meal missing... The landlady was not on site so a gentleman came to speak to us and offered the meals that did come to the table free of charge after he spoke to her.The homemade chips where delicious, menu choices where plentiful and prices very reasonable. Pizzas where beautiful and freshly made.
On main road. Parking nearby. Good choice of flavours. Small seating area with spacing for pandemic. Prices are average to good.
We had fish&chips and a burger. The chips was looking like they were fried in a month old oil. Cant complain about the burger and the fish. The waiting time was a bit long but we enjoyed the drinks while we were waiting.
Fresh out of lockdown and decided on a takeaway from here after a long walk, tuna and cheese panini and chips with a hot chocolate. The best chips Ive had for a long time and the panini was well filled and tasty and presented with salad garnish, washed down with a yummy hot chocolate. Will definitely call again.
Ordered 2 large Roast Dinners today for delivery. Arrive an hour late and barely warm. Considering it was a large it was small and only 1 piece of meat, which was tough. Looked like slop with hard potatoes. Vile
Took an hour for food (a few baps and one vegan roaston a quiet day. We gor seated in the conservatory with no heating, had to sit with coats on. Dont waste your time.
Me and my husband have today ( 22/9/20 just had the most delicious meal in your restaurant . My steak was cooked to perfection , the peppercorn sauce was mouthwatering and the chips were proper chips , lovely . My husband had the chilli which he said was one of the best he had .We will definitely be back .
Sorry to have to write the review as the pub and staff were lovely. We ordered food however it wasnt good I ordered a chicken curry which firstly came out stone cold. They brought it back having been microwaved the curry tasted not like a curry at all very floral tasting also it only had two tiny pieces or chicken and the rice was hard. I mentioned it to member of staff but received no acknowledgement of my disappointment. So basically paid for a meal I hadnt eaten with no offer of a refund or alternative. Lets just say I wont be visiting again.
Went today for a spot of lunch never again!!!! Pub followed Covid 19 guidelines very well shame they left us sat waiting over an hour for our food. Everyone else was having their food delivered to tables so I knew there was a problem. Asked a waitress about our order she never came back to advise so asked her again she came out with our cutlery then another member of staff came and asked what we had ordered. Our order was put with the takeyaway orders! We were offered a free drink but didnt have time we needed to be somewhere and couldnt wait for the order to be cooked. They gave me a refund but would have preferred my food. Used to toilets before I left 1 out of 3 were working and there was no toilet roll. Young inexperienced staff also let the pub down not be going again .
