Carretera La Romana - San Pedro de Macoris - KM 16, Autovía del Este, Dominican Republic, Monte Plata
Discovered in 1926, this cave museum offers guided tours of ancient paintings made by Taino Indians.
Nice place, its an ancient cave with some painting for Tainos the first habitants of Hispaniola
Beautiful place to visit. Its a short visit, about 45 min, but still wonderful.
Speechless! A MUST see excursion! Very clean facilities, with beautiful flowers and some very large Iguanas that are kept on the grounds.
A short tour but worth it...its amazing.
Beautiful place. Cool place. Great service. Cant drink or eat though or smoke. Be prepare to have a good time!
Our wonderful tour guide Franklin was very knowledgeable about the caves, including its geological, and cultural history. Due to the majesty of this place, I consider the price of admission low for the invaluable experience obtained. The grounds are well maintained, theres free parking, clean restrooms, a small convenience store, and giftshop. Our guide provided excellent customer service and if your guide offers great service as well, remember to tip generously. Plan to spend about an hour here.
Beautiful place. Cave well maintained and with easy access.Guide was very kind.
Awesome experience. The whole cave is very impressive, and Roberto, our guide, is very knowledgeable and made it all so fun.
Gigantic caves. Well lit and well kept.
This the perfect name for this cave. I never being in such a beutifull place is the grearest.
Excellent Place for a Stop. The horses in the pasture was relaxing view. Beautiful site with shaded parking lot. free mini museum, and very inexpensive entrance fee to the caves. I was able to walk right and purchase tickets at gift shop. Tour not required, then found the tour guide spoke english and was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Really impressive and beautiful cave! Tour every ~15 minutes and only for 300 pesos per person. After the cave tour you also get to see bunch of iguanas. 🦎A must visit!
Really nice environment, the experience is about 1 hour long but it is totally worth it
Amazing stop, plus the Iguanas are a bonus
Not bad! If you are free and have time, it is fun to see. It costs about $10 and it includes visiting the cave and seeing the iguanas. The visit would take about 30 min.
Really wow place. The guides will talk you that making photos is not allowed but nobody listens :))Ticket costs 300 DOP that is twice more than for others natural parks I visited but is costs each peso.
Such a beautiful place. Very recommended to see!
A beautiful underground labyrinth with easy access to all areas. Be aware of humidity. Also, a healthy physical condition ir recommended for the ascend aspects (returnfrom the cave, it is a stiff climb, many step, build your cardio prior to visiting for a more enjoyable experience.
This is definitely a good place to visit if your ever in the Dominican Republic, and definitely a good workout
Between San Pedro and la Romana. Free parking. Quiet place, big, nice. You can buy tickets there. Toilets, little shop, front desk. Offers short horse rides, interesting maze to spend some time and patience, iguana place, little show room explaining history of the place and the caves. Now elevator is no working so you have to climb stairs to enter and exit. Its like 5 floors more or less. Once inside there is a road. No photos inside and no touch stalagmites. Very wet and very nice. Its about 30 minutes tour. The guide speaks English and Spanish. Recommended and quite cheap.
The cave are impressive but the guide was no so cool and he only speaks Spanish, and inside of the cave you cant take pictures.
Really great place to visit. Guided tours depart regularly, the tour takes around 30 min. Kids loved it. Big free parking and entrance is 300 pesos adults and 100 pesos kids.
This was a gem to find! We had a blast here. We visited the cave, the maze and road horses. They have a little shop with snacks and drinks that accepts cash and card. You can also pay the tickets with US dollar, Dominican peso & credit card. We took sandwiches and water for food because you walk a lot & it was very hot. Everyone was very friendly and helpful! We would definitely go back again.
Really interesting place, unique huge cave, park with dozens of iguanas 🦎 an a LABYRINTH - it’s a something 😅 Honestly we did cheat finding a route to that palm. It’s pretty complicated.
Very nice place, we liked it a lot. They have a huge park with intetesting plants and few hundred iguanas! The cave is not big but well prepared for sightseeing (no photos are allowed inside). Good parking, clean toilets, cheap wooden figures in a souvenir shop :You cant go inside on your own, you need to wait for a guide. We came at opening at 9 am, but we had to wait for the guide 30 minutes. I guess they dont do the tour untill more people gather. Guide explained to us everything in English and let us feed iguanas :)
Nice place to check out and learn a few things about the areas history . You cannot take photos inside the cave however it was still a good experience with the educational tour its about 30 mins for $10usd not bad at all!
It is not allowed to take pictures inside the caves, even without a flash. A great tour guide that speaks English that gave us a wonderful tour of the cave system and the iguana area.
Great place. Even when no pictures can be taken inside the cave, the experience was awesome. I loved the beauty of the premises and the maze is a nice addition.
They have these place well taken care of !! The guides are excellent and know how to communicate their knowledge about the Cave. I congratulate you 🙌🏻
Thank you Henry for interesting tour. Good place beautiful cave, 10$ ticket child 5$ cheaper in pesos 300pp
A great experience. The park is clean and well kept. There are donkeys and horses as you enter calmly walking around eating grass. The bathroom facilities were extremely clean, although the toilets had no seats. The cave itself was beautiful. Much of it is undisturbed, maintaining the original environment for the bats living here. There are several rooms to explore and a beautiful pool.On exit there is a large area of iguanas, more than Ive ever seen.Definitely recommend this is youre in the area.
Its a popular landmark in the DR. Great place to visit and learn about dominican culture and history.
Beautiful and very interesting, definitely worth visiting!
Amazing rock formations! Great guides! This a must see natural wonder. Still could use a little touching up.
I absolutely loved it! It’s a very beautiful place. Our tour guide was amazing explaining everything and the kids understood everything. There are life iguanas, spiders and other animals. It has very clean restrooms, a tiny museum and a small cafeteria for snacks. It is a must.
Very neat! Tribal art although some parts were vandalized. Wouldve liked more history and science of the rocks but enjoyed the experience! Watch out for huge iguanas!
The tour lasts 45 mins and a guide is included in the entrance fee. It was nice exploring the cave and the garden. Its a great activity for a day out with the family or friends. Sadly pics are not allowed inside of the cave.
Amazing place to visit!! Entrance cost is very cheap but keep in mind that you have will have to walk A LOT. But after you get to see everything with your own eyes, it really pays off.
Its a nice place, as for me were hard only stairs - too much))you can see different kind of minerals inside and even a small pond, which "make your dreams come true " as one local girl said (although I am not pretty sure about it). It has some cave drawings, but not much. Not very good to make pics, because its kinda dark inside and also because its rather narrow for big group of tourists.
Love the place. Shows part of the history of the Tainos in the Dominican republic that lived that area .
A great place to enjoy with the family and kids. It is a cave with many historical aborigine art. The price for adults is 300 dominican pesos. It has different areas to enjoy, horse tours, iguana mirror and cactus forest. They have a place to eat if you bring your own food. Tips are accepted for the tour guides. The tour is around 40 to 45 minutes.
Great visit, fair price ($10 USD), and interesting historical and cultural significance to the people of the DR. Couldnt take pictures inside, but honestly its something you should see in person anyways.
Great time.. the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.. beautiful site..b
Cost is 300 pesos or 10 dollars. The tour takes you inside the caves and show you Taino paints on the wall. There is a section where they have iguanas. They dont allow to take pictures inside the caves. Tours are every 15 minutes and they have a cafeteria
This cave has paintings from the original Taíno people. There are a lot of steps and the elevator was not working when I was there so it probably wouldnt be good for anyone with mobility issues although I think there are some paths through the cave that have flat surfaces. You arent allowed to take photos in the cave due to past bad experiences the staff had with visitors and to preserve the paintings. The entrance fee is $RD 300 per person and has a mandatory guide. There is also a small nature walk and an area with several iguanas. The whole area is very beautiful and I felt that I learned a lot.
Nice caves with tainos big painting....The trees roots are so cool...but its pity that we cant take photos inside, and you can see iguana here....
Best kept secret located between Juan Dolio and La Romana. Well lite and worth checking out the Taino cave drawings.
The cave looks amazing, very beautiful view and vibe you get inside. The guide was very friendly and respectful to me with my zero knowledge of Spanish (he explained everything twice, English and Spanish). The price is very reasonable and at the same time the place wasnt packed with tourists.Although you can see iguanas after the cave.Worth the price!
This is a wonderful place to visit to see the wonders of nature. Those caves are naturally made and with so much besuties and history inside of it. Its perfect and the services and prices are reasonable. They treat you with respect and friendly.
Tour guides speak multiple languages. The area is well preserved. Easy to locate from the highway
