Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Sioux Falls

A beautiful place to worship! Its a little bit of heaven right here on earth.

A gem of a church in South Dakota - you wont find one like this in much of the midwest. The restoration is exquisite. An elegant aesthetic, but not overdone.Being a shrine of St. Joseph, it makes this cathedral a destination for faithful, too!

Really pretty. Unfortunately we didnt get to see inside as there was a wedding, but the grounds are just lovely!

This is a really amazing church. If u pass by Sioux falls make sure u drop it for a quick peek. It will be worth the detour.

Gorgeous church and a great Mass. We stayed and took pictures and really enjoyed our time there.

If you enjoy architecture and religious artwork this is an excellent place to visit. I especially enjoyed the stations of the cross which were recreated as detailed sculptures.

Beautiful cathedral! Such a big and monumental place. Incredible clean place. There were hand sanitizer for COVID precautions. I visited during the 12 pm mass. I love checking churches around the world and this one was stupendous gorgeous

The pictures do not do justice to this church. It literally takes your breath away as you walk in with the beauty.

Simply breathtaking.. the details of the architecture are so ornate. I recommend everyone should visit. Went to midnight Mass and it was very nice.

Taco salad was $8 and small potatos ole made it $12 including the charge of 99 cents for sour cream which came on the salad and messed up adding the sour cream on the side in addition iij it iuu with what they put on the salad. Food was good.though.

Beautiful is the only way to describe this cathedral. Being Catholic, its always nice to see religious architecture, but this is amazing.

I am humbled before the amazing beauty of this place. I come from a small cattle town in west river and so ive never seen something like this aside from movies.While i have always believed god is all around us, you truly feel something in this place.

Absolutely beautiful architecture. Its worth going just for a look. Only thing is it echoes a lot and it was kind of hard to understand everything that was said. Soloist was awesome.

Today was the first time I followed the online mass at this Cathedral. Mass was very meaningful. Father (was it Rev. James Morgangave a good homily and his celebration of mass was so good. When I saw parishioners receiving Communion at mass, I got emotional because I hadnt been attending mass since last year because of the pandemic....thank you Reverend. Please pray for the country Malaysia.

This place is absolutely gorgeous! I’ve never been to a mass but we were in the area and decided to stop by. I was almost sure the doors would be locked but they weren’t! Amazing chapel, the detail is so beautiful.

Beautiful. Dont pass it up. And if its normal hours GO INSIDE see the most amazing pipe organ and if its late you will see (there is NO better wordmajestic look the only Catholic Cathedal on this side often state the Catholic got some style....

For a cathedral in a small rural Midwest diocese, this cathedral is very magnificent! I was privileged to visit it on a day in which a priestly ordination was happening, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience to come and see this cathedral as the diocese gathered together to celebrate. Would highly recommend visiting if you are in the Sioux Falls area!

Watching the Sunday Masses during Covid has been a blessing with this magnificent cathedral and the holy priests! Thank God for these lovely Catholics allowing us to share in their Sunday mass! Someday I hope to visit this gorgeous church! Thank you!

This historic cathedral was completely restored in 2011, and it is stunning. They took what was already a gem and made it shine more brilliantly than before. The presence of the Lord in this holy place is palpable. Well worth a visit; be sure to check the hours before you make the trip.

Only bummer, it wasnt open when we were passing thru. The outside is extraordinary, and the "Mothers Garden" on the property was very nice. Stunning architecture, cool design, great statues and stone work around the entire place.

Beautiful cathedral. The grounds and the church are very well maintained. This old building looks like it is new. We went to daily mass there and it was very reverent and peaceful.

We weren’t able to attend mass unfortunately, but were able to walk through the cathedral. It was breathtaking. Absolutely gorgeous Stained glass windows. Wonderful representation of all the saints, of Christ, and the only Stained glass window I’ve ever seen that depicts someone carrying a gun.Very nice that it was open to visitors, Especially during these trying COVID-19 times. Prices for candles were reasonable.Make sure you check out the shrine to mothers just outside the cathedral, set in some beautiful gardens, it is a wonderful confession of the beauty of motherhood in the midst of a society that doesn’t seem to care about mom.

This Cathedral was breathtaking as was the side garden dedicated to Mary, Our Blessed Mother.

Christmas at the Cathedral is amazing. Top of the line production. Dan Goeller does a fabulous job with the choir and orchestra in addition to arranging most of the pieces.

Attend mass every Saturday. The cathedral is gorgeous and like listening to the Bishop Swain. Very traditional services.

Absolutely amazing cathedral. Only been here once and would go back in a heart beat. Completely amazed by all the architecture, the intricate details throughout, the amazing people and hospitality. So many unique things to see and learn that you may want to schedule a couple days to take it all in! Highly recommend seeing this place and taking in a service. It really is a new experience you cant get anywhere else.

The Cathedral of St. Joseph in Sioux Falls. Gorgeous inside and out. They also say mass in Latin which was great. Simply put, a beautiful place to go to reflect or visit.

I have been attending mass here for two years now. The stability and silence of the Cathedral is empowering. The chapel is beautiful, simple and a bit dark. If one is seeking a brighter interior, pray in the new monastery. Here, you may pray with the sisters in a location that is bright and cheery. If you are seeking a deep, empowering, divineness go to the Cathedral. This is the place where I sat and prayed, cried and came back to the profound truth of the Catholic church. The Cathedral of St. Joseph offers family programs that are led by the wonderful Maurine Irvine. She does a phenomenal job at organizing and structuring these programs. The school is quite old, but is an okay location where the classes are held. The Cathedral holds a great history that people travel from across the world to see. If you are in the area and seeking truth, stop at the Cathedral. It will bring you something if you are willing to look.

Natl Catholic Daughters Installation Mass. What a treat to see the beauty of this Cathedral. I very much appreciated the rosary before Mass on Saturday morning and confession in the afternoon. Thank you Sioux Falls SD. ❤️
