Modern urban oasis with lawns, terraces and trees including English oaks and pines.
Cool set up with the ice rink and food stalls (Oct 2022)
Paid our respects at the Manchester mamorial... RIP... X π
Brilliant city centre park , great food attraction on the dayLoved it. Manchester at its best π
Lovely place to drink a beer when it is sunny
Hard to review a patch of grass next to the footie museum...but it held the food festival today. Lots of interesting stalls from Eritrean to Brazil etc. Two real ale bars. Had a good time. OK prices. Deposits on plastic pint pots but not plastic wine glasses. A few years ago the SS litter patrol fined a friends daughter for..taking a selfie! ...They stood up to take the pic and left their Coke can unattended for 30 secs.
Not the same as it used to be back in the early days, more relaxed now and done quite well.
absolutely lovely, Saturday evening mass was nice the curch is beautiful
Just a nice little park, often filled with events that bring in the people. We visited during the Italian food festival. Was great :)
Beautiful place. Festa italiana was a very nice event full of surprises.
Italian Festival at Cathedral Gardens(August 22 afternoon visit).Travelled from Wilmslow so not too far away. Not sure what this place really has to offer other than somewhere for city dwellers and workers to sit down / enjoy their lunchbreak. But If the weather is good and you are looking to kill a morning or afternoon, there is something on, then it can be quite enjoyable. Quite a relaxed environment, a gentle buzz from the live music, and not too busy with a good blend of people.Tip: there is a free bus I took that runs from Piccadilly train station to various parts of the city including close to here, and its about a 20 minute walk if you prefer to walk. I wont attempt to list the stops. ..As far as the Italian festival is concerned, dont get too excited, there were about 15 stalls of mainly food and drink, some live music. Enjoyable and sufficient for my needs, and many others but for me lacked authenticity. Some stallholders were not italian, this by itself was not an issue, but additionally I did not notice a big italian turnout, seemed to be more passers by.This was definitely a family friendly event.
Beautiful and well looked after. On a very hot day, a tranquil place to sit.
Good place to hangout with friends and family outside of football museum
Really a great location...awesome outdoors events.
Nice relaxing place to chill close to Manchester City centre
Nice area to hang out. Visited the Football museum nice to spend an hour of 2
Such a lovely spot. The Cathedral is so peaceful
Nice place for a walk /drinks and dinner π΄
Great little stop for when youre shopping in Manchester, but isnt a very clean green space because of the volume of events that occur in this small space meaning often lots of litter, brown grass and sludge
Plenty of places to sit and the whole area is well kept. Theres a number of restaurants and bars around, plus other key sights / attractions in the city, and with the train station a stones throw away its easily accessible. Its a nice space to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre and Ive never found it overly busy. Well worth passing through!
Beautiful clean gardens in the city centre, it has always been nicely trimmed and kept when Ive seen it. People tend to gather here when the weather is good to get some sun while having a drink or lunch. It is just next to the National Football Museum, just steps away from the shops and Arndale.
Nice place to spend leisure time in the green grass .you can hangout with your friend and Girl friend..
Working for Showsec as a security officer and went to the Championship parade for Manchester City and was well impressed with the city centre.
Went into the Cathedral, outside is the memorial to the Manchester bomb victims. This is beautiful. Then the football museum, its free to anyone who lives in Manchester. So free day out π
Good place when theres shows on even when see all floor plac of footballer pass an some present
Incredible interior. Highly recommend. Impressive history. Brilliant organ. Free admission. Avoid timings of prayer
Its a really nice open space that encourages folk to come together. With plenty of seating and even a few bits for the little ones its Great escape from the noise and busel of the shops. Only down side and it is minor was the rather unsociable skateboarding lads.. But you cant have it all!
Beautiful building.Very clean and litter free.
Ice skating at cathedral gardens has always been a favourite of ours and this year its twice as big and under cover which are two great additions
Christmas markets put me in the Christmas mood , glad to put covid in the back seat and enjoy the Christmas spirit ,
Its the Christmas market at the moment so really commenting on that. The cathedral offers the classical Christmas counterpoint to the modern Christmas market. Everyone was having fun, drinking eating, rollerskating. A bit pricey but hey get in the Christmas spirit. Stalls were limited and repeated bit festive enough. Christmas cheeses, marshmallows and decorations. Merry Christmas.
Great! good parking on site. However you would need to have the pass codes for getting past the bollards.I was working there.I love Central Manchester, if I wanted to spend the day there I would get the train.
Cathedral Gardens covers an area surrounded by an array of buildings very old and very modern.Theres some bars and eateries and then theres The Cathedral, Chethams school of music, Victoria Station, The National Football Museum and the old Corn Exchange. You can go in The Cathedral though if taking pictures you are asked to give a donation. There are tours around Chethams usually hourly during the weekdays, as its one of the oldest buildings and I believe Libraries in Manchester but its still a School so theres rules and regs you have to adhere to.Victoria Station has good rail links to the rest of the country and the Metrolink (Tramhas good links to the City Centre and Greater Manchester in general.Theres good access to The Print Printworks entertainment complex, The Arndale Centre and Exchange Square. There have been assaults and muggings on the Gardens (though Ive never had a problemwhich is why Ive only given four stars.
I was working here last Friday on the night shift25/6/21It is the main site for the Manchester international festival
These were great apartments. Large and airy with everything you need for your stay. Very clean and easy access able to all with plenty of space for 6 people. Close to the busy railway line going into Victoria but soundproofing in the place and triple glazing made it very quiet. Staff were very helpful and did what they could to help if needed and very reasonably priced for you get. A great location in easy reach of all Manchester main attractions and very to close to local transport links. Would recommend this to families of all ages or simply couples wanting a bit more space.
Great for a family experience great for the kids to learn ice skating with the ice supports
Amazing ice sculptures. The gardens are lovely but the Christmas ice structures were very beautiful and well worth a visit
Went to see the Ice Sculptures ,absolutely amazing , be sure to wrap up warm tho , can take pics, got a few sculptures where you can pose too
Very nice place to hang out , people skateboard in there which is fun to watch , also others on cycles making a show
Nice and quite garden in near Manchesters arandale mall. For more reviews check my Instagram @khalifa3125.
Can be a good place to chill when the sun is out and it doesnt look half bad. Events are often hosted here with personal highlights being the Festival Italia and the Christmas markets.Last year at the Christmas markets they and a wonderful ice sculpture exhibition with some seriously cool artwork
Little but amazing garden, excellent for kids, I was there for the Italian feast, I loved so much β€οΈ
Went to see the ICC World Cup 2019 match between India and Pakistan. It was an amazing setup. Great audience and really nice quality screen & audio system. It was great fun. Food and drink stalls were there too. It was great experience. Thanks Manchester πππΊπΊ
Great place to chill and relax in the best city in the world!
Lovely on a sunny day. Love the new landscaping and water features. Good for a place to take a sandwich or coffee and enjoy the sun. Good space to collect thoughts. Fairly shielded from the busy roads. Much more tranquil than Picadilly Gardens!
An amazing historical cathedral building.. Entrance is free for everyone..
Amazing sculpture outside Liverpool Cathedral. An angel made from knives that where used at criminal scenes.
See the remains of the Cathedral devastated during world war 2 and feel the courage of the people during those hard times
Visited the ice village event with the kids loved it bit cold so wrap up -10 inside but was really good.Staff were so nice and it was very busy but well managed and not to overcrowded inside highly recommend.
Love this place to co.e and chill in the busy city always seems to be something going on
I went there on a Saturday afternoon. I was shocked to find it pass through pubs. There is no sense of holiness outside. However, the garden is good and people can tske good photos. Its an architecture that is nice to appreciate but its not as magnificent as I expected it would be.
