Cathedral Cafe - Restaurant in Macau, Macau
Mixed seafood pasta delicious, Sangria also good. The staffs are friendly and helpful, will come back
Went there for lunch. Ordered pancake that came with sugar instead of maple syrup. By the time start eating the sugar syrup became hardened and stucked on the plate. Also, ordered eggs Benedict and the Hollandaise sauce is all curdled. Worst of all, AC is not cool during a hot summer day.
Good taste and decoration
Cosy restaurant with a nice vibe. The food was well presented, had the African chicken which had a really nice sauce to compliment the chicken. The service is quick and staff are polite.
Me and my friends (a group of 12went here on a Saturday lunch and we had a great time! There are two floors so dont worry the place is not that crowded. The Portugal food was amazing. I especially like the Bacalhau and duck breast! Really recommend this place👍
I had an amazing night with Stephen (the ownerand his friends who accepted me into there group for an evening when I stopped by for dinner. I drank the light beer and had a local dish which were both great. The atmosphere on a friday night is like a local pub. Very friendly people. Thanks for a great evening
Amazing food, great atmosphere and the owner is a legend, very helpful with our travels and gave us a free bottle of wine!
It’s a cozy little coffee shop/bar/restaurant in Macau. Right off the Senado square, perfect place to chill out after a morning walking around checking out the churches and other historical spots of Macau.Nice wine, great food and clean. Friendly staff and the Oz boss is really helpful for directions. Great afternoon spent! Will definitely recommend this gem.
Nice place for a glass of Portuguese wine or beer and great food. Stays open till 2:00 am
Nice place and tasty Portugal food , love it.Excellent services(lady).
Went there twice. Reasonably priced drinks, good food, very welcoming staff.
Very clean restaurant in a very good location at the heart of the city.
We like the small terrace to enjoy a drink. Cosy, nice service. Obrigado
Great restaurant. Our best experience in Macau. Friendly staff, yummy sangria and amazing food. Would definitely recommend having a meal and some drinks here if in the area.
Lovely little cafe tucked away from the main square. Very genuine and warm welcome on arrival and cheerful service throughout our visit. Entered for much needed respite from the heat, stayed for the Portuguese egg tart and wonderful tuna dish.
Excellent service, great food. Nice and cozy hidden gem to take a break and enjoy a cocktail.
Great vibe, great food, and great drinks! Good customer service!
Came to Macau for the day and called in. What a fabulous place the food was delicious especially the seafood tacos and the wine was lovely, I would highly recommend this place and I will go again next time I’m over. Go and enjoy 👍
Great atmosphere with nice Portugal colonized areas specialties.Very nice wine cellar with comfortable seating for private or social events.Very friendly boss with warm hospitality. Definitely come back and really recommend!
The best local for eat and drink.
My wife and I stumbled across this cafe after a long morning of exploring St. Davids Ruins and the surrounding villages. We were greeted by a very pleasant server and given the option to sit at any table, since the restaurant was empty. The server gave us menus, took our order and provided us with the wifi password. After being seated for 15-20 minutes and waiting for our order a man, who we presume was the owner, came outside and aggressively berated us about our empty Starbucks mugs on the table. Although it was a reasonable request to pour our coffees (which at this point had been finished for quite some timeinto a Cafe mug we did not see a garbage can at the front door, nor were we offered a mug when initially greeted. The owner continued to make an uncomfortable scene when he yelled at a young dishwasher about taking out the garbage and stood by the main entrance speaking angrily on the phone. Good food, awful atmosphere.
Great place to drink and eat in Macau. Check it out.
This place is amazing. Small, yet cozy. Their wine selection is adequate. Owner was friendly, and the chicken satay was out of this world. Great place to duck away from the crowds.
Wonderful restaurant with very nice staff, great food, receipes collected from natives. The athmosphere is very nice and you feel really welcome there. Thank you for a very pleasant evening.
Nice cafe, good food and atmosphere.
I hate to say it, but I didn’t like this place much. We had breakfast sets, the portions were not big. Another story that you don’t have big choice for breakfast in Macau. BUT COFFEE IS EXCELLENT!!! And stuff is helpful.
Warm services, nice food and drinks. Its a really good place for tea and dinner. Highly recommend Porguese sausage Chouricos and Bacalhau a bras. Excellent!!
Excellent food. Bacalao was just a little salty and and didnt taste fresh. Overall great service and really good sangria!
Had Bacalhao Bras - delicious. Friendly service, too. Unpretentious, welcoming and worth the money.
Excellent place. The food is tasty and unique. The place is clean and the staff is helpful. No doubt, this is the best place to eat while you are in Macau
Great drink selection with friendly service at a good price.
This is a very nice bar in Macau where you can get away from the hussle and bussle, enjoy a beer or wine and have intellectual conversations with Macau residents.
Only had an Australian wine that was bottled in Germany. Not very nice. Had a good feel to the place, so would try again just to see.
Great place to stop after a visit to the ruins and Senado Square. We had breakfast and the servings were generous. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Great food! Breakfast available all day, cafe drinks are solid. Also has an event space and bar downstairs, regular dance or salsa classes.
A very comfy and cozy cafe. Enjoyed the food there!
One of my favorite spots in Macau!
Many restaurants outside of the big hotels are closed during the annual Chinese New Year (CNYholiday. One that isnt is Cathedral Cafe on tiny Run De Se San Malo, just 40 metres or so away from Cathedral (Se), near Senado Square. This is a good place for cooked European style breakfasts for those seeking a bite to eat away from the hotel. During 2018 CNY, I stopped here and enjoyed a place of chorizo (MOP95that was a large serving and came with a freshly sliced tomato and hot Portuguese style bun. This was nice sized breakfast and tasted very good. Chorizo was spicy, flavourful but not hot.Coffee (MOP30served up here is just ok. There is much nicer coffee available at the coffee specialist shops but what is served here is fine for breakfast.Note: You can eat breakfast at Cathedral Cafe, then walk less than one minute into the main area of Senado Square where much CNY activity is taking place, including lion and dragon dances. Just note the dates and starting times on the MGTO schedule of events beforehand.
Very good espresso, friendly stuff, reasonable prices. In general, good place to get some rest after a long walk.
Quite underwhelming, coffee was really bad, burnt milk and tasted like instant coffee. Couldnt drink it.Breakfast was OK but not filling, no bread with main set, so essentially just egg, sausage and salad.Im usually pretty easy to please but this was kind of disappointing.
Good place to gathering, having coffee, snack or all day breakfast
Delicious freshly made food and very friendly people, a good retreat if youre done with the natas and cookies.
Great little bar with friendly service and great selection of food and drinks
This should be your go to spot while exploring Macau. Go for lunch or late night for a drink. The place has the charm of a local watering hole , but you can get quite satisfying food here as well. It is located on a nice side street, so make certain you search it out. It is a unpretentious establishment worthy of praise for what it brings to the mix of Macau. Cheers to the owner and staff for doing it right their own way.
Good location great homey food
Great for lunch or dinner (maybe breakfast too?). Or a cool place to sit & drink. Its in a quite little side street that you will probably walk past when you go for a wander around town. Highly recommend you stop by if yourre looking for an authentic but clean Portuguese / Macau experience that isnt surrounded by the kitsch of the casinos (I couldnt find any others like this). I stopped in at noon to escape the heat, ended up staying all day eating, drinking and watching the parade of locals, some of which stop by for glass of wine and a quick chat. Food is yum and beers are cold. Staff are a mix of nationalities, very friendly and unlike the casinos seem genuinely happy to work there. Im sure it kicks on to be a cool bar at night but unfortunately I didnt get to find out. Spend some time here and it will be the sort of place you hope to come back to.
The seafood pasta was fantastic, very rich and they were pretty generous with the ingredients. Friendly staffs too. Had pasta with a glass of rose for MOP130, pretty decent price for the quality! Recommended!
Friendly service and extensive menu.
Food and coffee were good. Good service. Relaxed location.
The duck was amazing!
