You can probably get better food out of the dumpster at the a&w next door.

Food was inedible. Worst Chinese food I have ever ordered. Chicken balls were made 2 days ago and were 90 per cent batter. Vegetables tasted and smelled like they were cooked in dirty dish water. How is this place still in business Ill never know. First time ordering and will be my last. Never again

Absolutely the worst food ive ever had!!!! If you want food that tastes like it was made yesterday and cooked in dirty dishwater then this your place!!!!

Tried these guys out and were so sorry we did. The food pretty much all taste the same. It was so gross! About 80% went in the garbage. The food taste like they used the same sauce for everything. The sauce had no flavour at all and everything seemed over cooked. A pbj would of been way more pleasing. Id give a 0 out of 5 if I could. This is also my first complaint ever....it was that bad that I had to warn others.

The food and service are the absolute worst experience I have ever had. I do not recommend this place. There are too many issues. AVOID.

Food was no good. Couldn’t even eat it, had to waste it. Not a single vegetable in the chow mein, just a couple slivers of a water chestnut. Everything came pre soaked in soya sauce. Sorry Cathay; but you need to figure it out

Great food, great hosts and place was clean and food was warm. Best traditional spring roll in the city.

Lighting made it very difficult to see in but the food had made up for it. Great portions for the prices and great customer service. Would recommend!

Monday to Friday lunch buffet hot with good variety. Good price less than $10 person including dessert. Friendly hosts, hot food, enjoyable atmosphere. Happy to return.Side note: not mobility friendly, a number of steps up to restaurant main floor

My wife and I are new to the area, and were looking for a Chinese restaurant near to us. My wife and I both have sensitive stomachs and often feel sick after trying new restaurants. After ordering from here for the first time we had no issues at all, and both felt fine. Of course the food was delicious as well. We decided to order again from them on Christmas Day. My brother was joining us and he has a gluten allergy. He has not always had good experiences with restaurants that claim to be gluten free, but he had no issues with any of the items they made for him. The staff was excellent and very friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant, and will definitely order again.

Will never be seen in that place again. Food was cold. No wonder there were no customers there at 12:30 noon.

An iconic restaurant. Though in a bit of disrepair. The (who I believe areowners are delightful characters who bring cheer and whimsy, offering stories about each dish. Their oversized hearts are evident in the ppl they employ. I have never been so inclined to leave a review for a restaurant.I wish them all the best and hope to be back soon.

Used to be one of the best restaurants in the 80s but has gone downhill with the new owners.

Delicious food, friendly staff, he felt bad for the “long wait”,(which was only 10 minutes and made us a bigger portion without even us having to ask, will be back again

As every place has room to improve. This is definitely one. But with support of the community. This overall great restaurant can be much better.But as is right now. For the food and service the price cannot be beat. I highly reccomend this establishment. Will go back.

Havent been in awhile.Food was good.No msg in anything 😊Owner was so nice and promised to let me try his special spring rolls on my next visit, made from chopped pork tenderloin not ground pork. Hes very passionate about the food he serves.Im excited. See you soon.

Went here for the lunch buffet. The place was completely empty. The lunch was absolutely terrible, worst food I have ever been served. It was like they left it in the buffet table all night, then tried to reheat it. It was still cold and completely covered up. It was old and inedible. The noodles were mushy, the chicken was hard and dried out. We ran out of there and left our food on the table and didnt pay. Obviously didnt eat anything. This has to have been thee worst restaurant experience Ive ever had. They should close down if this is the food they are serving because they cant afford to have fresh. Id give negative stars if I could.

Ate here with a group of 7 people a few hours before they closed. It was a quiet and relaxing place and the owner was accommodating and kind.The food came out very quickly and the quality was high. We all shared our orders as the owner suggested and got to try a large portion of the menu. The food tasted fresh and tasted as was made with actual ingredients and not artificial flavors.Definitely be coming back and ordering from here in the future.

I really liked their chicken, and a few other dishes, they need more customers to keep the buffets fresher

This was a horrible experience.. food wasnt fresh or warm.. very greasy.. washrooms were gross.. toilets didnt flush and no running water to wash your hands! Never going back!

How is this place still open??? Went there with my girlfriend and her son today and we all hated it. The restaurant was super dirty even the washroom was gross. The food was horrible... never going there again. Dont waste your time or money

Very inexpensive buffet restaurant. Limited selection of food but they always have the basics. For an all you can eat buffet lunch under $10.00 cant be beat.

I can only comment on the weekday lunch buffet, never been there evenings or weekend. Have had many lunches there over the last 3 winters, but todays was my last ever! Im finished with this place. See ya....

Used to make this place my first stop once I got to Winnipeg but after today will not be going back. The food and service was terrible. Wish the old owners would come back!!

We had dinner there this evening. Food was delicious, hot, and we left full, with enough food for lunch tomorrow. Service is friendly, and the food is wonderful, not bland or overspiced. We ordered one of the specialty dishes, with pork, peppers and mangoes, and it was amazing. We will definitely be going back.

Awful.....food was not fresh, dried out and greasy.Saw their add for a $8.99 buffet.If they want to keep a customer they have to do a whole lot better.Cleanliness not acceptable.We will never return.On a positive note our waitress was friendly and efficient .

Today is my first time here and I enjoyed all the items I ate, especially the fruits is splendid. They just need to make their washrooms better.

First time there - I will never go back. The place is dim and you can hardly see what you are eating. The buffet food was horrible. It food had an awful smell and the chicken was rubbery& slimy. I DO NOT recommend this place. It needs further inspection

I would recommend this restaurant to others. Not a large selection on the buffet but a nice selection.

This was the worst food I have ever had. I feel so sick. According to another review (which I should have readthey re-use the food that people dont eat on their plate and put it back in the steamers. There are no signs telling you what you are eating. I also wish I would have looked in the back door of the place before I ate there. I paid $10 when the sign outside claimed it was $7. NEVER TRUST A RESTURANT WITH NO WINDOWS.

Used to be the place to go for great Chinese food in the city. Dinner time it was packed hard to get in. Its awful now dont know what happened but..

Love it!!, its good for the price, beats many of the other buffets in the area, food is fresher and tastes better too!! doesnt make me sick
