Located right in front of the Central Park of La Vega, this imposing temple stands out for its architectural design. Inspired by the Albi Cathedral in southern France, this modern temple replaced the old cathedral that was demolished in 1974 after being seriously damaged by an earthquake. It has the capacity to receive about 1000 parishioners, making it one of the main temples in the entire Dominican Republic.

This place is amazing. It has so much history and beautiful memories for me and many that I know. Beautiful design and purposely located in center city. My family lived a block away and we always sat at park outside the church. Beautiful place full of birds and lovely people who were friendly and respectful. My great grandfather was the mayor and my mom has the most beautiful memories visiting the city hall nearby church. The structure is beautiful and well kept. I recommend this place regardless of religion. It’s a beautiful historic place to visit

I love going there and just seating outside enjoying the nice view of cathedral. This is a great place to visit for couples and families alike. There is a nearby icecream store and restaurants.

Wonderful amazing experience in such a well preserved and historic place, the area is clean, safe , people is very friendly and its kids and pets friendly by the way, there are several stores , snacks and restaurants, ice cream and different stuff around !!!!

Looks pretty old, but in good shape... You could you its park as a recreational place, but only at night because during the day the sun wont let you enjoy... They need more trees to give shadow...

Beautiful archeture! I sat at the park over looking the cathedral and had an ice cream. Awesome place to chill and sit under a shadetrees. I recommend this place just to chilax and take a break from the traffic. More than five stars to relax or to visit church.
