Castle St, Banbury OX16 5UN, São Joaquim
Local indoor mall housing mainstream shops, department stores plus restaurant and cafes.
Shops and good food. Easy win.
Yes its ok got a few shops but thats it in banbury...the town has lost its identity and its people.its just full of down and outs and foreigners.its awful 😖
Surprise!! Didnt think Id say that ever about Banbury, you gotta max out here food, clothes and parking that doesnt hurt. Come here spend money an exhale its all good. L
Getting worse as a shopping centre not many decent shops left.
Lively and bursting with fun activities for children during half term holiday. Where else can you go thats out of the rain and warm?
Such a shame there are so many empty shops, I imagine because if high rents ? Why not refuse the rents, if all the shops were occupied they would surely receive more than they are getting now ?
Go here alot with work .Everything you need in one place.Would recommend
Some decent shops in here, had to give it 3 stars because there is more closed stores than open
Not much variety of shops location is beautiful by the canal which is directly behind, lots of free parking
Wonderfully clean and well organised. And very helpful staff.
Awesome Shopping Mall .. But Close 5 Pm
Very sad just a few people walking, so many stores been closed 😢 The parking was disgusting expensive,
Although I visited years ago and was good then many shops has closed down but the arcade now has lots of improvements all being good for the area.
Lovely little shopping centre. Enjoyed a morning out there and enjoyed walking around the town too. Our first visit to Banbury
Could be better too many shops closed down
Castle Quay is looking and feeling quite run down at the moment. With the closure of BHS and Debenhams it is a shadow of its former self. It reflects Banbury as a whole with empty shops and restaurants giving the town a depressing feel.
I love Banbury. Shopping centre is really good. Friendly place.
Fewer shops and businesses every time I visit ☹️ lock 29 is nice though with great little eateries.
Its very sad to see so many empty units. It is in need of some vision now all the big chains have gone to make it buzzing again.
I’m not entirely sure why this place exists! It’s a strange ‘shopping centre’ that just has odds and ends of stores. We came across it by accident whilst visiting the Banbury museum.Waterstones was the only store worth going into. Has a food court but the prices seemed high in comparison to what was being served
Easy to park and shops are set out in a way that is easy to navigate. Shame some shops have gone and left empty spaces but that is the same as most high streets now. Centre is central in town so you can explore other parts by foot. Hopefully the town comes back to life after COVID.
Continually improving retail offering at this centre. A little dark in Lock 29, but well worth visiting.
Nice shopping centre. Even free softplay for kids but very dirty and never clean. Also very cold in winter in the softplay area
Nice airy shopping centre with good selection of favourites and a few more interesting places added recently
Very good shops I had a really good shopping experience
Pretty much every shop you could possibly want under one roof!
Like so many places, it was good in its time but has never been maintained.
Simply a tourist trap. Place included as a stop on a hotel sold tourist trip to Santo Domingo. Food buffet style and poor water and soft drink included but beer extra USD 5 for local presidente beer. Instantly forgettable
Found a wonderful health shop with nuts, coconut and dried apricots, well worth a visit. Centre is not busy with a few empty shops but worth a quick walk around.
What a lovely shopping centre locker 29 is well worth a visit
Lock 29 well worth visiting, great security parking,. Also plenty of shopping outside of castle quay too.
Went there about 3 years ago it was lovely than went back this week but wont be going back where are all the good shops gone
Excellent shopping centre, lovely and clean and bright. A wide variety of shops and coffee shops. Well worth a visit.
Lots of shops have closedown, because of Lidl across the road. Parking tickets contribute to this. Other places have free parking. The only thing I find interesting is a stroll along the Chanel and the park.
Banbury shopping and town centres are dismal. Given the size of the town, there should be far more effort to re-energise the once thriving and lovely town centre.
Good selection of shops and eateries. Enjoyed lunch by the Oxford canal
If you consider your own personal hygiene dont bother visiting Castle Quay shopping centre! Clearly hand soap on the last 3 visits is too Castle Quay is to much to ask for. Reported on all 3 occasions and on the last visit today was told they waiting for a delivery. I am unaware of a soap shortage and clearly the staff at the front desk are completely unaware of the many shops within the precinct that sell soap!!! Disgusting in this day and age when there are signs everywhere telling us to wash our hands!!! Its quite clear all the money we all spend shopping in there goes to the 3 members of staff doing nothing at the front desk and Castle Quay 2, which will also have empty shops soon enough aswell.
This used to be a good shopping centre, but no more. So many stores have gone bust or vacated (BHS, Debenhams are no more), H&M, Marks & Spencer and Gap have gone, as well as Hotter Shoes, Monsoon, Accessorize etc.Its good for pharmacies - Boots & Superdrug - but the Post Office in WH Smiths is a joke.Lock 29, the new pop-up area, is a nice idea but I see several of those units are already empty - and its cold! With Castle Quay 2 due to open shortly for entertainment and restaurants, I wonder what the owners are going to do to revitalise the first phase. The current economic climate, together with the rise of online shopping during the pandemic, has been a disaster for the larger stores.Luckily there is a burgeoning independent area along Parsons Street and the Lanes
Nothing there. Can get a coffee or Gregs other than that its nothing, new lock 29 has a few nice micro food stalls but no where near a shopping experience.
Next to town centre, close to railway station and next to canal with walkable towpath. Decent range of shops with a museum. Shame the old Debenhams store is empty.
Its working hard to improve itself. It needs to consider why they have many empty shops and do something to support and ensure it does not loose anymore. They seem to be concentrating hard on the new waterfront. Well done on donating one of their many empty shops to help Ukraine. (Also vending machine for masks?)
Most of the big brands of daily needs have outlets here.
This place used to be I lively place plenty of shops and people going about their lives, but it now is a shadow of its former self, its sad but the modern way of shops and peoples lives being lived online has taken its toll, there are plenty of places to eat and get your nails done but there appears to be as many shops closed as there is open, still a nice place for a walk including the canal area then a spot of lunch in one of the many cafes around the town, lets hope the modern world doesnt kill off this and other towns like it.
The new food court here is wonderful, I appreciate they have used dead space in a creative and functional way (the Mexican pop up is particularly good). Although some of the bigger dept. stores have closed there is still a good selection of shops. The public toilets are clean and well maintained as well.
Needs more vacant shops to be occupied. Not a great shopping centre. May become more lively when the new area opens.
Youll hate me using the same word Americans use but this is a quaint local shopping centre with the usual array of best sellers: sports direct, new look, Primark, Warren James, superdrug, and others. What marks it as different is that its easy to navigate, the toilets are quite nice and theres a set of boutique street food outlets and bar by the canalside entrance. Theres Mexican, Italian, bistro and oriental selections. Choose, pay and then sit to eat at canteen tables with benches or go outside to lounge in a deckchair. The attached cat park was only £1 for a whole day on a Sunday. Spaces clearly marked out as disabled, or parent n baby.
Quiet and sad to see.some shops gone.. Had good experience in Gap with very friendly and extremely helpful assistant. The food hall is great and fairly diverse ... but lovely to try different street foods...would recommend. All in all a basic shopping centre, no individual or interesting shops just standard high street. sadly the bigger popular shops now out of town.
Great shopping centre and we have a pop up art show there ! Last day today 19 Sept
Good shopping experience and easy parking plenty of places to eat. New shops and other amenities being built now
Great place best shop by far is the magical story! A must for those that love Christmas!
