Castle Glen Australia - Winery in Warwick, Australia
Great range of locally produced wine, spirt and liqueurs.Very friendly service.
Cedric was lovely. Had a couple of taste testings.
Massive selection of alcohol available, wine, liquours, beer, cider. Like a candy store for adults. Free tastings available for all products.Owner says all distilled alcohol products gluten free and I tried a few things with no side effects (I am a coeliac).
Stunning array of liquors available.Probably the most extensive Ive ever seen across the world.
Pretty much every type of liqueur flavour you can imagine. The creator is very cool. Check it out.
Could spend lots of hours and $s here. It was unique experience to visit here and the owner was very friendly and informative. I will definitely be back
What an amazing place. If you think its out of the way. Make time and go there.Even talking to the owners all about there Rums and wines.
Great preservative free wines, liquors, gin, etc. Well done. Well worth the visit.
We received horrible service from man named Marshal. He accused me of having had 4 tasting when Id only had 1 and then, when I asked him about the cinnamon liquor he made no eye contact with me and didnt respond to my question. There was also rap music blearing in the background. I had wanted to purchase a liquor for baking, however after that treatment we both left promptly. Not a nice environment at all.All in all a very disappointing, unprofessional and unfriendly experience.Very sad as we had been looking forward to going to Castle Glen all day as weve been loyal customers for several years now (dropping in each year when we come up the mountain for a short break).Hopefully this man is just a fill-in and not permanent staff as Im afraid the business will go down hill.
Went to grab some drinks on the weekend. The collections they have is just amazing.
Service brilliant, OMG everything so good would luv to have spent longer will next time 👍, the variety of liquors is amazing
Great place to shop for spirits and free tasting
What an amazing place. So much to chose from and staff are so friendly and helpful.
An out of place wonder. Cute bottles of alcohol.
Gorgeous location and hundreds of liquors.
The Castle is the main drawcard to visit for photos opportunity.
Nice place..Staff was not friendly..Asked for sweet wine recommendations, Answer was all our wines are sweet.. wasnt a helpful answer
I was very excited to visit Castle Glen but the visit left much to be desired. The staff were very unwelcoming. I had heard great things about the tasting but it was almost like they didn’t want you to taste. I actually stood in front of the man said hello and asked to try something and he ignored me. I think perhaps they only want to offer tastings to people they think will spend money? If the experience had been positive I would have bought a lot. I’m not sure why they don’t just charge $5 for 5 samples or something if that is the concern as I imagine a lot of people would take advantage of the free samples which would get annoying. But don’t just judge people by what they look like and think they wont buy.
We visited Castle Glen during our visit to Stanthorpe. It was great speaking with the owner who makes all of the products. So much effort goes into making each item which are preservative free. We purchased 5 liqueurs, which have all been delicious. Plus the castle and surrounds make it a very interesting place to visit for both adults and children.
Castle Glen is surrounded by apple orchards, cattle farms and natural granite formations which makes the drive there spectacular. Driving up the driveway you are greeted with the wonderfully maintained castle and vineyard. We are always amazed at the selection that is available and the friendly service that we receive. Make sure to try a few tastings to see what you like as there is so much to pick from. There is something here for everyone! An absolute must do when visiting Stanthorpe. Thank you Castle Glen, you guys are beyond awesome :)
Drinks are plenty and some of the bottles are beautiful. Taste what ever you want. Highly recommend
Loved the experience, decor, and the whole vibe of the place. Brilliant customer service and a great selection of alcohol at great prices.
Disgusting armature brew/wine. Taste like my first home brew that wasnt developed.Bought 2 beers 4 wine coolers and 2 fortified wines. Beers and coolers were all poured down the sink except the lemon/lime. The wheat and pilsner beers, pineapple and strawberry wine poor poor. Maybe simplify you production and perfect a few lines.
An amazing experience, so much to choose from. Everything is made on site, even the fudge and brittle. Picked up a few liqueurs and will be back to their Mt Tambourine shop very soon.
The grounds and building are a pretty good draw card but photo opportunity only. Liqueur-wise theres a big selection with similar copies of most brand names in the market. The wines were pretty limited and didnt look as appealing. We purchased some liqueur mixes as well as pilsner and pale ale. Oddly all had a strong wheat like after taste. The pilsner and pale ale both tasted heavily wheaty which was at odds with the description on the label. If youre into wheat based beer it may be for you.
Good selection, however castle needs some maintenance was very dark and damp inside and staff were not too friendly.
Well I was going to write a great review, as the place does the cutest bottles of liqueurs and has a great setting, however I found their customer service for any issues very disappointing. In store it wasnt particularly outstanding but I was too excited about the cute bottles to worry about that at the time.I purchased several items, two of which were really cute bottles of liqueurs. I drove home to Brisbane, then my friend and I sampled these at one location, before I drove the few KMs home. When I went to unpack the bottle lid of the round bottle was not on the bottle and despite being in a cardboard box and upright, had leaked half the bottle. I figured this was on me for not securing the lid, however I have found the lid does not stay on. There is obviously an air pressure issue with the design of lid and bottle, so I now have a half empty bottle that the lids wont stay on.Now here comes the issue. I am assuming I have a faulty lid, so I contact Castle Glen to let them know, and to ask if I might have a replacement (as I really love the bottle and wanted to display it after). I was basically told that these lids often dont stay on, hence why they shrink-wrap them when they make them. So I suggested that is a fault and that perhaps they should be informing the customer about this, both at time of purchase and on the box. Basically (in a friendly waytold me this is how it is and they arent going to do anything to help me. They also suggested they havent had this complaint before, which I find strange if this is a common occurrence. And if its not a common occurrence, then surely you would just err on the side of caution as a business and replace it.Needless to say I am disappointed that I have half a bottle of liqueur and will now need to find a new home for it and cant store in the bottle I wanted it in. Apparently once empty, my bottle can still be used for the aesthetic purposes I wanted it for, although my plan was to fill it with a coloured liquid, so I guess that wont be happening. Surely if you have a design flaw, you would want to ensure you fix that rather than telling your customers thats just how it is.
Friendly staff. Arrived just before closing, but were still welcomed, tasted and purchased lots of yummy Liqueurs. Quirky Castle, highly recommend a visit. Not our first visit, but was for our guests who thought it was a highlight for them.
This place is absolutely the highlight of my trip to Stanthorpe. It has a massive assortment of spirits and liqueurs, free tasting and excellent service. Not many wines but you will struggle to find a bigger variety of spirits and liqueurs that you can taste for free anywhere in the world.
When visiting or Travelling near stanthorpe this place is a must visit .So many great Liqueurs to choose from.great staff to help you choose and let you sample their product Musk stick Liqueur is my fave
What a gorgeous place. So many products to choose from. Staff were amazing and allowed you to taste test before you purchased. Highly recommend a visit.
Very dark and really needs an update and a tidy up lots of variety if you can read the labels in the dim light . Bathrooms a big yuck give them a miss.
So much too choose from.Would recommend just for the fact it is a castle...when will you ever get the chance to by liquors from a castle again
Nice place to visit and get a photo but the man and lady at the counter were unhelpful and unwelcoming. Disappointed that they don’t allow tastings when the sign for tasting is still there and no sign advising otherwise. It’s hard to support a local business when customer service is sorely lacking.
Interesting - The colours of the bottles of alcoholic drinks in the showroom are marvellous as the setting sun shines through the windows. Overwhelming - too many types of booze to choose from. When you are in the area, visit them, there may very well be a bottle to your linking.
I was really disappointed. I wanted to go to a winery that I fondly remembered visiting when I was a child with my parents. I wanted to go there and splurge and stock up on different types of liqueurs but the bloke behind the bar there was extremely offish and rude and the lady wasnt much better. We drove well out of our way to get there too. I was so disappointed I only bought 2 bottles instead of restocking. I would have given them a 1 star but they do have amazing product, shame about the bad customer service. We came all the way from the Gold Coast stopping at girraween and castle Glen. Wont be stopping at castle Glen again.
I really wanted to see this castle, sit down and sample a variety of good wines and maybe food being lunch. Driving in I was not disappointed at the castle building and large green grounds. The front entry needed a bit of pruning, the front yard provides a differentiation and good photo location. Going in I was impressed by the display of goodies until I looked closely to find that there offerred a plethora of distilled spirits or liqueurs but not a wine to try and sample. The interior needs a bit of tlc. I tried the banana creme liqueur, blueberry liqueur, caramel liqueur which would probably be nice served with ice and one other spirit that was too strong to enjoy as a ready to drink and needed a cold chaser. No food, im told that they use to serve them but the kitchen has been closed indefinitely. No seating area. The castle is not setup for visitors staying and enjoying the view so do not expect this kind of thing relaxation after a long drive. Otherwise, friendly service and the proprietors clearly have the passion for mixing flavoured spirits. I did buy the banana creme, green fairy and a couple of jams which I hope will taste good.
Very large range of spirits. Friendly staff. No tasting till a bit later in the year because of Covid restrictions.
Visited today and was disappointed. The whole place looked tired and run down and looked like it needed a good clean. Didnt end up buying anything, although there appeared to be a large range, as it was so dark we struggled to read the signs / and or labels.
Was recommended to make a visit to castle glen during our trip to Stanthorpe, which left us feeling disappointed following the experience. When we visited we were not welcomed, assisted in browsing the store, there was no interaction with the single staff who stared at us as she spoke on the phone.Felt very unwelcome
We visited just a few days ago , we got a friendly welcome and lots of info on the products...sad there was no tasting as with covid...but many other places still offer tastings...otherwise it is hard to buy something without tasting, I bought a small pack of whiskeys, they are ok but probably not my favourite..thanks and hope all goes well for the future without taste testings 😆
The unique building intrigued us from the outside but unfortunately didnt entice us to stay or spend. Host was not welcoming, borderline rude. Very dark inside - difficult to see the (dustyproducts. No tasting due to COVID (somewhat understandable, however every winery we visited in the area was able to offer tastings).
I visited Castle Glen on Friday, I found the owner rude, he was slagging off on other wineries around the region, I wanted to taste their beers before I paid $10/bottle but he refused, I got the Pale Ale home, it was flat and obviously off, I had to tip it down the sink.We wont be back.
Holy smoke there is something for all here. I am a average shopper looking for a good deal but honestly. Its all well priced and there is a discount area and there entire selection is amazing. Taste anything before u buy. Just ask the people are so friendly and down to earth
I brought and tried 2 nice dark beers, they were very helpful and chatty.
Great place to stop. Not far off the main highway. Massive range of liqueurs and other alcohol.
Great selection. Interesting building.
very good but dont buy any beer from here. was excited to get some local beer but upon tasting it we found it to be be made 3 years ago and tasted rubbish. my family from Misanthrope and the UK will find it very hard to go back here to buy any items.and we did try befour we brought. the goods that your staff gave us was not what we tried what we took was out of date. beer can only be kept for 12 months. the stuff YOU GAVE US WAS MADE IN 2014 WE ARE NOW 2017
I have visited every time I have been down that way. Not only wines but beers as well. Makes some of the most interesting beers Ive ever had. Warning though. Check alcohol percentage before you decide to have a few. I didnt know beer could have such a high percentage. Great staff and owners who have always spent time with me and chatted and laughed. Brilliant place to visit.
Weide variety of liquors available, all can be tasted before buying.
