Casey's Community House - Pub in Creston, Canada
Casey's Community House in Creston
Description
The food was extremely disappointing! My wife and I head the cod burgers. It looked like those things you can get from the grocery store frozen. Didnt even fit the bun. The falafel our friend had was so dry. The poutine had hardly any cheese. So much for home cut fries. More like shoe string. Real disappointing. To bad.
MoreThey made me a Caesar salad and even sent a doggy bag with me which was very nice.
MoreGreat service, Awesome Food & Our meals arrived Very Quickly!!
What a cool must visit hot spot in Creston. A great addition. We go oftenUpdate September 2022:Caseys is once again open, I happily moved it to 5 stars. My wife and I couldnt wait to see it reopen, the atmosphere is fun and inviting. the menu has lots of options for adults and a menu for the kids. Lots of different bear on tap. We tried and loved the poutine, skip the fries and add this as your side. I also really enjoy the Shrimp tacos, cant wait to go back.added some new pics as well check them out.Update Jun 24, 2019:Caseys updated their menu with some great new additions to their menu. The upside is you have much more selection, appetizers were really good. the downside some of the entries could have used more seasoning. The Marinara sauce on the Chicken parm lacked flavour the onion rings although crispy lacked seasoning. The amount of food you get, and the price is excellent.
MoreNobody would serve us after we asked where to sit and found a seat. Waited over ten minutes - left and went to Jimmy’s. Nobody said a thing 🤷🏼♀️
MoreBy far the best burger in town… 100% recommend… very friendly waitress:)
My wife and a friend went to Caseys at lunch time, it was not to busy but it took a long time before we could order and get our food. We ordered their lunch special, the burger was not much and the fries were cold, we were not impressed, first and last time for us.
MoreWow! Fantastic meal. Seafood ravioli was to die for! Fish tacos also wonderful. We will be back! Thank you for helping make our stay in Creston memorable!
MoreIts meh. Good service, mediocre food. You can get like 8 onion rings for $10. And they were overcooked. Luckily its just down the street from Jimmys which is better and cheaper. Go there instead!
MoreAte there 3 days in row awesome food 🍸 and staff was wonderful
Nice food. Service was friendly and fast.
Service wasnt great, saw our server once at the beginning and finally had to go up to the bar to get drink refills, burgers were raw. Been here a few times now and seems to be re-accuring.
MoreLovely staff, friendly atmosphere, fresh food. Would like more vegetarian options, like how about a veggie burger. Best ever falafel!
MoreNice place. Service a little slow, but the waitress was new and learning quickly. Shell be great.
MoreWhat a wonderful experience!!! My husband and I decided to try Caseys out for a dinner, and we were very pleasantly surprised. Service, food to the feel and look of the space Absolutely fantastic . Oh I had the "Nashville chicken burger",and it was the best 👌. We will definitely be returning and recommending.
MoreNice decor . Good vibe with good food. The hot Nashville chicken sandwich was excellent. I cant wait for the full menu in September.
MoreIt was an alright experience there at Caseys Tap House. The food was mediocre as the falafels were not falafels they were dough balls might as well have went to Sun R Restaurant for chicken balls. The waitress was confused on which Bill we were and gave us the wrong bill three times and blamed it on the storm that was yesterday. Thats okay though it was very pleasant atmosphere and the water was good.
MoreTwo great meals enjoyed at Casey’s (butternut squash ravioli with smoked salmon and blackened chicken). Our server was great (not ignoring us but also not hovering too muchand it’s just a fun place to be. You might hear Drop It Like It’s Hot, and the TV might be showing an episode of something called “Prank Academy”. No complaints here.
MoreGreat food, staff and environment. They just opened but great service and food already!
MoreWonderful pub with both bar style and table style seating. The decor is beautiful, as is the art gallery located upstairs. The food was delicious and staff very friendly. Having more than a dozen taps for draught beer is an added bonus as well. Glad this pub opened up and Creston. My family and I will be back!
MoreThis restaurant has slipped some recently with with a new chef coinciding with poorer prepared food and higher prices. The ambience is amazing and the wait staff can be great, some turn over has left some experiences wanting. In the end you can have an ok to great experience here... you just never know what your going to get.
MoreStopped for lunch on Monday, ordered a Salmon burger on a gluten free bun, got a couple bites into the burger then asked the waitress if it was in fact gluten free, she took it back to the kitchen and confirmed it was not gluten free. When the waitress brought the burger back a couple minutes later, we questioned if they had made a new burger, she stated" the cook just scraped everything on the salmon and put it back in the gluten free bun"......who does that? The result was a liquid diet the next day! Nice renovations.
MoreI have to say this was my go to place until recently when they changed the menu. Extremely limited (except for thé. beers:any way husband ordered a burger extremely dry. Daughter is a vegetarian and she ended up ordering a shrimp quesadilla off of the starter menu. Was $16.00 & was just 2 wraps slapped together with some cheddar cheese & maybe 4 shrimp in total. Presentation was something like you would get at a kiosk at a mall. Anyway new chef has to go or up his game. I order poutine it was the size of McDonalds or even smaller and maybe had 3 very, very tiny curds. Soo so disappointed. Never offered vinegar or ketchup. What a difference from when it first opened.
MoreStaff was friendly and prompt, food was tasty, trivia night was interesting and engaging, ... They closed far too early - we were still having fun! In all fairness, it was 10pm on a Thursday. Fantastic pub style with tall tables on one side, and low tables on the other. Will definitely go again.
MoreGreat food, often featuring local ingredients. The best selection of beers on tap in the Creston Valley by far. Wonderful atmosphere, complete with wood slabs and beautiful masonry. The staff are super friendly. Love this place!
MoreJust found this spot and they had amazing food. I was really impressed. They also had a great locally produced wine selection. Best Buffalo burger that Ive ever had. Also really nice architecture and atmosphere.
MoreLoved this place. The menu is broad and innovative, with items that will satisfy virtually all-comers whether health nuts or greasy spooners. I had the Salmon Poke bowl and was truly impressed with the thought and preparation that went into each of the five or so component ingredients, and how they contributed to the balance of the dish (color, flavor, nutritionas a whole. The wines and beers are almost all locally sourced, and were of high quality. Servers were friendly, efficient and obviously well trained. I’m not from the area, but am jealous of those who get to frequent Casey’s. Highly recommended!
MoreStopped in for lunch and was amazed at how it looked inside, very large space and trendy decor! The food was pretty good and didnt take very long to get it. Im not sure if its wheelchair accessible but it would be easier to go through the back then the front if you cant do stairs. This is just the kind of place Creston needed! My wife said that the ladies bathroom was the nicest bathroom she has ever been in! I didnt use the mens bathroom but its probably just as nice.
MoreGreat food, lovely decor, and the owners are awesome people. All of the wait staff were friendly, timely, and had great attention to detail. The food is fantastic and the kitchen staff clearly know their stuff. 10/10, would do again.
MoreI stopped on my way through Creston and heard about this place. The menu was filled with options and very well presented. The atmosphere was great and the food was amazing. It was seriously the best food I have had in a very long time. I can’t wait to go back my next time through Creston.
MoreThe outside of this pub/restaurant does not do the inside justice. The decor is wonderful. The food was good, we had the kettle chips which tasted exceptional, my burger was nothing to write home about, hubby had lettuce wraps which he loved and the poutine was lovely! The staff were very friendly as well.
MoreThis corner stone red brick building has its second life!Ralph & Tanya have done a beautiful job in renovating and keeping a new community pillar. We had our grad reunion at Casey’s, the atmosphere was amazing. The appies were first class. The staff did a fantastic job looking after everyone. All the classmates were impressed with the new “place to be”
More2nd time returning to this restaurant in 2 days.Personally met with the owner this evening and had a a wonderful conversation.Great food, great service, will definitely be returning.L.S.R. loves Caseys Community House!
MoreBeautiful place, very good service , friendly staff , good food and prices. 👌🏻
MoreBeautiful looking place, service is friendly. Food was nice, not wow but nothing to complain about, at least not from the adults in our group. The youngster had issues with the cheese, chives and bacon fries. There were no chives, just green onion. Too picky?
MoreYou have got to stop in here!!Excellent decor, great service and a menu (craft beer and foodthat you would expect to find in a large metropolitan center. Great portion size, fantastic imagination in the food creations and taste that is outstanding!!Highly recommended.
MoreWas heading to Cranbrook for the day, had to stop for my car to recharge a block from here. My fiancé saw this pub and decided to go in for a drink and he requested his favorite drink which the server bartender happily made and might I add to perfection. He said he loved it so much we had to stop again on our way back home. More drinks, this time desert too which was absolutely amazing. staff was excellent and fun both visits. Coming back here next time we take my car out past this way.
MoreEDIT: have been back two more times. The service has definitely improved. The servers are friendly, helpful and much quicker. The food is okay, bigger portion sizes and more options. Still a bit expensive, dinner and 2 beers for 2 people $60, but its a nice night out. They have gluten free bun options and rice bowls so have made changes. Our first time was great, our second not so much and the rating is based on our first visit. On the first visit the server was friendly, attentive and efficient. The food was good and we had a nice evening. I like the fact they source from local suppliers. They do need to work on the gluten free selection, not everyone likes burger or salad but the menu is limited in general. The burger is small, however the flavor makes up for that. The four of us were happy with service and the meal. It is expensive but felt the quality of this meal was good so left happy. The second visit, the service was horrible and the food was disappointing. Two of us ordered bratwusrt that was supposed to come with colesaw and fries. The coleslaw was substituted with mac & cheese without us being asked. When I sent it back, the waitress told me I should of told her i was celiac, fair enough, but they should of told us the meal was changed. My husband would of changed to something else since he doesnt like it. I got a side ceasar which was nice but both bratwursts were luke warm. We ordered another round of drinks and watched while the waitress tried on jewelry, spoke to a co-worker and then spent 20 minutes chatting to another customer. After about 15 minutes of waiting, we asked another waitress who was excellent and got us our drinks with an apology. The original waitress eventually came over to apologize, gave us some story about landscaping and offered dessert... this was as they are about to close. She also mixed up the bills and it took her 15 minutes to sort that out. That round of drinks should of been free but no mention and at that point we just wanted to leave. So, would I go back... maybe... Creston needs places like this is succeed as there are not many options. Its not cheap but Id give probably give it one more chance.
MoreI hate to do so, yet I can only offer 2 stars! The wait staff I had when I was there was a wonderful young lady and nothing but pleasant and cheerful, however I was less than impressed about the menu upon reviewing it. It is very small and seemed as though it was lacking in options, I only stayed for a pint after reviewing the meal options. I found it was a little overpriced, and of the 2 pages, half of the one was a kids menu! I do appreciate the fact that before the evening hours it is a child friendly atmosphere! I will state that if you are by chance a skinny pant wearing, man bun having, gaping hipster! This is just for you!
MoreThe service, in my opinion, is good. The severs do everything youd expect them to do. They are around often enough but not a bother. Ive eaten here seven times now and every time Ive had a good experience. Ive ordered five different menu items and theyve all been cooked as expected except once when the burger was overcooked (blackened and crispywhich I didnt mind but I know some people might. Ive been with people whove ordered steak and it hasnt been right 3/3 times. The best poutine Ive had in Creston. Good tap beer selection. Good atmosphere.
MoreWe came here to Caseys for a fundraiser, my first experience here was bad and I didnt want to come back but I did for the fundraiser and had an almost equally as bad experience. The burger was basic very flavorless and we had a large group of people so the servers asked if the could pass around glasses to everyone and the just leave a few pitchers of soda and water we agreed so they did and put out 4 pitchers and small water glasses and they were empty before any one even had a second glass and we never got refills and still got charges for every glass on the table
MoreStopped for dinner on our way through Creston (first and only visit thus far). The building, space, atmosphere and service was top notch. The building and restaurant are beautiful...blew me away to see that in Creston! I wouldve given 5 stars if the food quality was a bit better, but the type of dish we chose was a bit bland. Might have just been what we chose. Well stop in again and try something else on the menu. Definitely warrants a couple/few tries. Love the space and atmosphere!
MoreA wonderful place to meet for lunch. Unique cuisine combined with an upscale yet laid back atmosphere. The staff are kind, knowledgeable and kool plus the selection of beer on tap is the best in the valley !
MoreThe food was delicious and the music was great, but way too loud for dinner time, the server mixed up our order because she couldn’t hear us. Would have been great for drinks later in the evening but for over dinner it made it quite unpleasant.
MoreSo happy to see the Kootenay resurrected as Casey’s! Wonderful atmosphere and our food and service was exceptional. The specials were interesting, with local cherries and cheese as ingredients. The vibe was great and so happy to see Mary’s art on the walls... it further roots Casey’s as a truly local treasure.
MoreProbably the best service I’ve had in years. Was there on Sunday with my family and the server (who’s name is Emily, I think, had blonde hair, age twentieswas extremely helpful and attentive. Seriously rare to find a server like this. The special, which was a burger and a beer, was very good food on what appeared to be a homemade burger, and chips made in house. Also, the food was very good value and I was surprised at how low the bill was. We will definitely return again.
MoreJust stopped at CCH while visiting the area. We had the tacos, the veggie burger, and a regular burger with the truffle fries. Lovely service! They were very accommodating to us, as we had a dog...they even brought her a water dish. Great food, great beer. I was a big fan of the interior decorating, it had a interesting industrial vibe. No disrespect, but the art on the walls really does not match the cool and hip atmosphere youve created. Would definitely come back next time Im in Creston!
MoreVisited today for late lunch with my dad, daughter and dog.Enjoyed the food and beverage selection. Not vast but full of good options. No pet-friendly patio but open front restaurant design allowed for me to tie up the dog in the shade where I could see her and the waitress brought a huge bowl of water.Service was excellent.Food was delicious.Decor was beautiful but the paintings are an odd choice and don’t match the cool rustic industrial vibes. Will return next time I’m in the area!
Morethe service is good the place is excellent. the food is gross the fries looked and tasted like they were cooked 2 days ago then warmed up in the microwave the blue cheese burger was a little black thing hiding under the tomato slice. when you go to the fancyest place in town and even 711 food is better
MoreHavent been there with a full menu but I love the atmosphere and the food was good. I had the Vegie mushroom burger, everything was good, although a nicer bun would improve it. But everyone likes different kinds of bread. A little more fries would be nice too. I look forward to seeing the new full menu
