Cascada Los Tercios-Suchitoto El Salvador - Tourist attraction in San Salvador, El Salvador
Definitely worth a visit
We went on a guided tour here from San Salvador and the entry was $0.50 per person. The hike down to the falls was a little steep and not that easy so I would recommend it for people not wearing appropriate shoes because there’s always the possibility of slipping. We went on a Wednesday morning and there was no one there. My mom used the restroom and there was no toilet paper so we used our own so keep that in mind. Then there is an amazing view of the lake with places to sit.
Its beautiful once you risk your life going down a steep rocky hill. I do not recommend this place for children or the elderly.
Definitely worth a visit. Its an easy 25 min walk from Suchitoto (no guide needed). The entrance fee is 1$. It has unique hexagon shaped rock formations and is a very beautiful site.
Beautiful spot
This place is so peaceful
Loved the view.
Please do not visit it on summer.
Recently discovered this location via YouTube videos and must say, its worth a visit. I went during dry season so no actual waterfalls but we did hike down. The place has its own Mirador (lookout pointof Rio Lempa with hammocks, chairs and tables. Ill be visiting again when its raining season.
Interesting rock formations, during summer the river will be dry.
Was open on a tuesday! 50 peso. Awesome.... pls support the blog #NomadicBackpacker
Nice place to visit.
Beautiful waterfall and the overlooking are amazing to El Rio lempa
Great place to visit, just make sure to wear comfortable shoes
Honestly one of the most amazing places to visit in El Salvador. Cost me only 0,5$ to enter and I was there alone to enjoy the falls, shower in them and take pictures.
It was breathtaking to see this beautiful, majestic waterfall. Its a short hike down to see the waterfall however I would definitely recommend to wear hiking shoes for this. These rocks could be a bit slippery and you need a good grip while climbing up and down. It took me a while to get down and let me tell you its worth it. The formation of these rocks looked like theyre were stairs. I was mesmerized by the texture. Amazing place to visit and relax. And there minuta station is so good. They have all flavors and they are deliciously flavorful. A great place to appreciate the beauty of nature.
The falls was absolutely dry when we went but we still ended up staying a while, sitting at the overlook area, appreciating the natural beauty around us, the majestic views of the lake and enjoying the peace and quiet and sounds of nature. Tip: you can totally do a picnic here! I wish we had a picnic basket with a bottle of wine!We were going to walk here from Suchitoto plaza central but it was noontime and the heat was going to be unbearable so we rode a tuktuk for $2. On the way back to town we just started walking until a tuktuk passed by.
I was genuinely wanting to love this place but it left much to be desired. In a vehicle, it is a few minutes outside of the city centre of Suchitoto. You pay $2 USD for parking and access to the mirador (lookoutand to the cascada (waterfall). You can quickly see the amazing view looking out to the lake and marshland. You walk down a small trail to the right to head down to the cascada. The trial down is marked with arrows so that you can get a closer look at the base of it. The water looks a little suspect and for me, not ideal to swim in. I recommend wearing good trail shoes to climb down or those strong rubbery non-slip water shoes. The rocks have a lot of moss in them and can be slippery. Bring a tripod if you are going to take any long exposure photography.
Suchitoto
Is a beautiful place waterfall los tercios ( cascada los tercios and posa el salto )Los Tercios waterfall and Poza El Salto are beautiful natural spots where nature shows its immense beauty. Located in El Salvador, Cuscatlan, city of Suchitoto, colonial town.
Really nice view of the lake and the rock formation itself was stunning! We went during the dry season so no waterfall, but still worth visiting. The only downside is that if you wish to get a better view you have to climb down some of the steep rock columns which may not be suitable for some people and is also probably not very safe.
It is dry this time of year. Water flow starts up again in the rainy season. Cost was $2.50 for myself and my car. Very nice female attendant who walked to with me. Left her a tip. Would highly encourage others to just leave a little extra.
Interesting Rock formations. Dont go for the waterfall.
So beautiful!
Maybe it would be better during rainy season to see the waterfall, however just to appreciate the rock formation is nice
Beautiful place even in the off season when the waterfalls are not running.
Beautiful views.
One of the loveliest places I’ve ever visited
Have to visit this spectacular place
Really nice place to visit but unfortunately I went in summer time and the cascade was dry, so no water to fall, maybe next time but rocks formation is amazing!👍
Beautiful visit of an unusual volcanic rock formation. Also worth visiting during dry season
Bellisimo.....
Seca (dry). Sin agua. (No water)
One of the top waterfalls of El Salvador. Be sure to visit in winter when the riverflow is high and you can shower in it. In the summer theres little water but you can appreciate the rocks and wall of the waterfall.
One of the most beautiful places Ive visited while in El Salvador. If you have a tour guide that can guide you to the water to experience the gorgeous waterfall. Its a priceless site to experience.
Need to go during winter season so you can appreciate the waterfall at its best. If you you during drought season you can see the formation of the rocks which is very cool, but no waterfall.
Not an easy climb down but woth the climb down
Really interesting rock formations, and a great spot above to catch views of the lake. Dont expect to see water falling, as it is usually dry, but it is nonetheless impressive
An Excellent place to observe a nature. There is also a place to see the lake. The shares of the rocks at the waterfall are really interesting.
