Homey restaurant with Moroccan-inspired decor featuring Middle Eastern & Mediterranean fare.
AMAZING falafel, soooo flavorful and goes perfectly with their delicious hummus
Sisters do NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY TO THIS PLACE- much money- no good food- praise be to Allah
Love their Chicken Shawerma with pita bread and sauces. My kids loved their Chicken Shawerma plates and they looked very pleasing to be takeout. Really good Mediterranean food. This place is definitely worth a visit.
Great, they delivered on a large order for a party I had 40 falafel sandwiches sides. Was great.
Love this place! Food and service are both wonderful! Options for the meat eater or vegetarian.
The eggplant parmesan and moussaka were excellent with generous portions. Be sure to try their spicy dipping sauce.
Nice quaint restaurant with a Mediterranean flair! The food was outstanding! Reminded me of my travels to Morocco. Great atmosphere! Friendly staff! I would definitely recommend this location!
The food is very bad. They are always out of something. There flies everywhere, fruit flies flying all around you. It is disgusting. I didn’t want to write this review, but I have to so the owners can take matters to this situation.
Customer service was awesome! Food amazing! Friendly environment. My favorite place to eat when I come through.
Leila was super nice! Very personable. Food is amazing! Iced.tea was perfect! And Im not a huge tea person!. Definitely recommend!Food is fantastic as usual. This has become a regular stop for me when Im in the area!
One of them worst food I ever ate. service is so bad. I order food took 45 minutes to make on lunch time
A Morocco themed middle eastern restaurant in the Germantown area. We visited for lunch. It was not crowded, and there was only one guy managing everything from serving the food, to taking orders, and etc. we started with a starter platter of hummus and falafel with pita. The hummus was decent, so as the falafel. However, the pita breads were very disappointing. They were evidently not the house baked one, neither very fresh, nor fluffy. Moving on to the main entree, the shawarma roll was good. But the chicken shish kabob platter was below average. The only good thing was the yellow rice. The rice was aromatic and tasty. There were a few boiled veggies on top. The chicken skewers were not much tasty- rather boring chunks of chicken breasts, grilled and seasoned with some spices. They were chewy, hard. Overall it’s a pretty ordinary place with overrated food.
Pros:-real vegan options (even desserts!)-really fresh flavors-knowledgeable & flexible staffCons:-too far away ☹️On a road trip and we stopped here for some fare that catered to all eaters. As a vegan, I was excited to read reviews about all the good options. The staff was quite knowledgeable about what was vegan. Collectively, we ate the Falafel sandwich (Middle Eastern Big Mac!), Chicken Shawarma, mushroom gyro (vegan!), Egyptian hawawshi, and beef & lamb shawarma. Of course we got the grape leaves and baklava (both vegan!), which was quite fresh! Sorry, we ate too fast for pre-eating pictures, and I didnt want to make Will feel self-conscious by posting my photo of him licking the baklava plate 😅 Our server was also really understanding that our party of six needed separate checks for reimbursement purposes. Overall, it was an awesome and authentic experiment. If Im ever in the area again, I will make sure to stop again!
This was really good. Kids shawarma plate is generous, I would say it would comfortably feed a Big Kid that was hungry. My three year old had a lot to take home.
I had the lamb shawarma, lamb chops, and spanakopita. All of the dishes had a nice smoky flavor and were delicious. Their spice blend is different (in a good wayfrom other Memphis Mediterranean places Ive had.
Pricey but worth it. Good coffee. Laid back. Amazing food. Fresh. ❤️❤️👑 Kings eat here.
Great food, great hospitality.
It did not have enough flavor for a meditrainian food. Rice had no salt. Falafel was good. Portions was not as small as some restaurants, bit not as big as some other meditranian restaurants. The restaurant looks nice.
Meh.. We eat at a lot of middle eastern restaurants and this wasnt that good. Everything seemed old, dry and reheated. The kunafa was the most disgusting Ive ever eaten.
Me and my family enjoyed our dinner. It was our First time trying this place.. food was awesome and different. Environment very welcoming..
Terrible. Ordered two gyros and fries. We were waiting to have our date night dinner. Meat looked and tasted old. Hardly any tomatoes and onions. Cucumber sauce was awful and I paid for extra. Last summer was the last time I had a delicious gyro from here. I am done now. $30 down the drain.
Turned out to be a great lunch spot. I had the falafel sandwich with fries. It was great and the portion was huge. Came with two house sauces, one of which was spicy, and they were really delicious. The rice stuffed grape leaves were an super tasty appetizer.
Food was amazing especially since I tried some different dishes. The hot tea was great. The service was good and food came out very quickly so not a long wait. The server was very friendly and promoted the food very well
I ordered a Greek salad and this is what i receivediceberg lettuce 3 piece of onion 2 pieces of cucumbermost of the lettuce was turning brown.. worst ever
Unique selection, hot tea, beautiful decor to transport you to the Middle East, friendly staff, reasonable service, wasnt crowded at the time of our visit (Friday dinner), little pricey (in my opinion)
Nice umbiance inside. Visiting from Houston Tx. Ordered to go Eggplant parm no cheese and mushroom wrapped in pita bread. Dont recall name of 2nd dish. Probably because it had no flavor. The mushrooms were unseasoned. they had plenty of sauces to choose from. Maybe to make up for the bland taste.I never got the Eggplant parm. After waiting 25 minutes I came back inside the restaurant and was told they have no noodles. They offered couscous or rice as a sub. I dont eat either unless its wild rice and it wasnt.Besides there is no substitute for Eggplant parm. The manager was apologetic and refunded me for what they didnt have. She also stated she put something extra in the bag for me.Got to my hotel and it looked like Baklava with a filling. I called the restaurant back to make sure it didnt have anything inside my 5 yr old was allergic to. I think they were closed because their was no answer. He cried for the treats but I cold only give him a few layers off the top because I didnt know what was in the filling.I hope they get a better chef.I felt cheated when the girl swiped my card had me sign the receipt and then told me 25min wait. There was only 1 group in the entire resteraunt and they had already been served. So why the long wait?I waited a total of 35 min it was an extra 10 min wait after being told my order was ready.Needless to say we wont be back.
Always the best experience coming to Casbah. I’ve been going for years & they never disappoint!! From the atmosphere, service & incredible food - this is a must try! Especially the Moroccan Soup & Hummus!!
Amazing food! I had the eggplant parmesan for my entree, for appetizers our table had spanakopita and casbah chips, and for dessert we had baklava, and all of it was absolutely fantastic! Definitely recommend the sweet tea too. Eat here if you want real Mediterranean food.
Phenomenal food and incredible service! Portions were large, good was fresh and I cant wait wait go bsck next time Im in town! Fantastic experience!
TEA TEA TEA! You have to try the tea, I suggest hot and I normally drink iced tea but it is so good! We also got the chicken shawarma and it did not disappoint. Thank you Casbah for making this experience so great!
Good food and good service! Tried the Vegetarian Platter, and ordered some Baklava as desert. Very delicious and filling! My dad has to eat gluten free, and he was able to substitute parts of the dish. The waitress who served us was very nice and we didnt have to wait long at all for our meal. Maybe not as important, but the music was catchy and the decor was nice as well. We all enjoyed our experience here!
The setting was mediocre and honestly it didn’t look very clean. The waitress was ok but the food was terrible. We didn’t eat any of it because the meat was sour and undercooked, the chicken was also not totally cooked, and the bread didn’t taste very fresh. When we tried to say something, the manager insisted that everything was perfectly fresh and that the food was fine, even though if that were true we would’ve eaten it. Basically, I wouldn’t even give this experience a 1/10 because I even had a stomachache afterward. Don’t recommend at all.
Great tasting food but dont go here in a rush. The chicken shawerma and pita bread were very good as was the hummus and babaganoush. The iced tea is flavored a bit, so dont expect it southern style.
This the best place that I have been for Mediterrean food. The gyros are so good and the pita bread is fresh as the other items on it. They also have great baba ganoush and its a large portion. The one thing that took me off guard was their sweet ginger honey iced tea. You will love it. The atmosphere was really nice from the owner/manager and the other staff!
I have eaten a lot of Mediterranean/Arabic food and I can honestly say that this was some of the best I have ever had. Everything was fresh and seasoned perfectly, and their menu had a lot of tasty options to choose from. Im telling you if you love Mediterranean/Arabic food or if you wanna try something different kasbah is a great place to go. Also they give you free dessert on your very first visit me and my family will definitely be back again soon 👍👍👍👍👍
A wonderful and authentic experience from the food to the atmosphere! Come hungry because the portions are big but the prices are reasonable. Enjoyed date night tonight with great food and excellent service! Make sure to leave room for dessert because the baklava is outstanding!
Literally I’m writing this review while eating my one of the extremely delicious food that I have ever had in my entire life. This place worth the travel from Williamsburg Virginia ( driving for workand I have not eaten anything all the until I chose this place by accident ( the closest to highway. I’m eating the mixed salmon, tilapia, and shrimp with rice and vegetables. I’m speechless honestly. Well done casbah restaurant. I’ll be eating at this place from now on.
This is an amazing place! The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is authentic, and the service is phenomenal! We eat here on a weekly basis and love it every time.
Excellent meal on a rainy Sunday afternoon traveling home. Had the lamb kebab and wife had the beef, both were so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Hummus appetizer you could tell was freshly made, with warm pitas, very tasty, especially with the spicy sauce. Their Turkish coffee was some of the best Ive had, very smooth but espresso strong, without any bitter aftertaste. I highly recommend, and we will definitely return next time we are passing through Memphis.
Ambience was very good but I didn’t like the food and also cost was high. Not satisfied with the restaurant
Started with the Falafel and hummus...yum. The Mousakka is delicious. This cozy place should be in your rotation. Dont miss the tea
After you save the city from an alien invasion. You have to have Shawarma! #loveyou3000Good authentic food. Nomz!I really like this place. Why 3☆s then? Well because the staff tend to be allusive. They take your order, they bring the food, then they bring the check. If you need something you normally have to get their attention. I dont have a problem with this, but because its the south people expect over friendly service. But that said, this is a good place, and worth you trying it out.The shawarma is always fresh, tender and full of flavor. The rice is lite and delicious. The hummus is smooth and creamy. The sauce.. omg the sauces are drink worthy.Pros: Fresh food, authentic flavors, decent lunch prices, cool decor.Cons: Staff are not super attentive, portions are on the smaller side, some of the decor is showing age like a broken stool
Eating at Casbah is one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. They give amazing service and have amazing food!! It’s definitely the best you will find in Memphis!
I thought this place was great. I came in for an early dinner before work. Yeah I work nights. I got falafel, hummus and baba gnoush appetizer. Sure I spelled that wrong lol. It was fantastic. Also got the chicken shish kabobs. Flavorful, moist and the rice and veggies were cooked to perfection. Only complaint is I wanted a more variety of veggies. I only got carrots and potatoes. Ill definitely come back. O yeah definitely try the Baklava!!!
Food is ok but portion size is very small. Ordered one mix kabob. The rice served was cold. The item price in $18 before tax. If you spend this much money in Alibaba meddittrean grill you will get 2 times the amout and 2 times tastier food. This is why the place was not even half full on a Friday night while you have wait a while to get a seat in alibaba. Went to explore the place and done with exploring. Not going back again
Good falafel sandwich and tasty gyro. I order takeout mid afternoon and had prompt friendly service.
Loved the place, nice ambiance inside the restaurant, awesome service. Shawarma was just AMAZING one of the best. Full of tender and delicious meat. Hard to find a good shawarma place and this is definitely one of the best. Greek salad was amazing as well huge portion and not very expensive. And they have WiFi.Tried chicken shawarma today, by far the best one I have had. Love this place and the service is always amazing.
Casbah has great potential but the lady who owns it needs some customer service training. The rude older lady that People mention in their reviews, unfortunately is the owner. I almost hate to go in their when she is waiting on me. She has her picks and chooses of who she communicates with. How do I know? Well I was done eating and she was holding a conversation with a lady for at least 5-10 mins without checking to see if I was done or if I needed anything . I ordered the gyro lunch special and the portions are super small. You need two orders of the lunch special to get full. I had to order a basket of pita bread just to get halfway full. I had to track her down to order bread. The rice was hard and over cooked. It’s normally good. This is my first time back in about 6 months because of the lady that owns the restaurant. They offer sides like feta cheese and lettuce and tomatoes but, yet she has an attitude when you want to add something or change something on your order. When I pay my hard earned money I want my food the way I like it. If you take the time to stop by their, you will see exactly what I mean. On the other hand, her husband is super friendly, very professional, and has great customer service. He makes sure your satisfied. I am not sure how there so totally opposite, but seems like she hate to be there. One of the problems that I encountered was she was sweeping when I enter the restaurant and brought me a menu without washing her hands. I just hope and pray she washed them before bringing my food. The food is good, but the lady needs to examine herself if she wants to keep business coming in. There are so many Mediterranean option out their with great food and customer service. Zam zam Mediterranean grill off Winchester is one of them.
Ordered the vegetarian platter and sweet tea (a mustfood was so delicious and the atmosphere was great
Great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, wonderful food. Had the tea sweetened, a tasty black tea blend with a fun bite from ginger. Only had the shawarma and mousse. Hope to be back in Cordova to dine here again. And buy some tea for home!
