Casablanca in Ipswich

Ordered through deliveroo and there was a small mix up with the order that arrived, quick call to the restaurant direct and it was immediately rectified with extras! Delicious food and exceptional service.

Appalling service. Booked a table in advance yet they had no record of it on arrival but managed to squeeze us in after being left waiting unnecessarily. Over 20minutes to get a drink and 90minutes to get our main meals with no explanation as to why they were late apart from we are busy. The food was pretty nice but the service ruined it and despite staff giving us a free drink there was no formal apology from management who were nowhere to be seen.

Came here today with a fairly large group, we arrived earlier than we had booked for but were still catered for. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the sharing platters which included couscous, salad and a variety of meats. I was absolutely overjoyed at the range of vegan options as in most restaurants I am usually grateful to have just 1 option! I eventually decided upon the aubergine mosaka which was rich and flavorful. I will definitely be coming back and I know Im not the only one!

Amazing/tasty food, loved every bite & on top excellent customer service would definitely recommend !A little pricey, wouldnt recommend getting the shawarma didnt match my taste buds otherwise everything else was top notch.

Highly recommended restaurant We have been back time and time again as a couple. Recently we booked a table for 14 people for a birthday surprise and it was amazing The staff were excellent and the service was impeccable The chef organised a special surprise dessert and birthday wishes from staff We were as a family truly touched by this and nominate this as our personal favourite restaurant in Ipswich xoxo

The food is amazing and the quality is good. Do try the houmous, it is the best I have had so far. Tagine dishes are are really good.I think they should add a little less salt to the dishes.Not a place for dessert thought.

The food was nice but I thought a little over priced. The smoke from the kitchen invaded the eating area towards the end of the evening which made the eyes sting a bit. The he staff were friendly but they needed to be reminded a couple of times about orders they seem to have forgotten (a main course and a coffee).

here is a wonderful kitchen and very excellent staff who work professionally will offer you several options so that you can choose a particular dish that would be not just affordable for you but profitable to buy because we planned to buy several dishes at the waiter and explained to us that you can take one dish at a lower priceYou can also see directly how the cook is cooking on an open fire. Misha makes a barbecue. I really liked the fact that it also offers you several types of Circle. I mean porridge rice, some other types of cereals, there is also the opportunity to try several types of salads and thats it you can try it for a certain price, but in my opinion the price is not so highsince I am a lover of natural food, accordingly I can recommend to those who like to eat natural, ecological clean food and at a low price. I believe that this restaurant is of decent quality and attention.as well as I would like to say a special thanks to the guy who served us and who do everything possible to please us and to leave a good impression

Very nice restaurant located near the town centre of Ipswich. Very friendly staff, excellent food and a pleasant atmosphere. Children friendly with high chairs for the little ones. 1 star less because the dessert options were extremely limited with half of the menu not available and with limited availability of the others. It was at 7.30pm, so there should in principle be a better supply of desserts. Well recommended for anyone after a good grill.

Food was delicious. Recommend the Mixed Grill. Lamb and chicken were cooked perfectly. Tender and juicy. Hummus appetizer was the best hummus Ive ever had.

One of the best meals I have had in a while.The best houmous starter I have ever had followed by a shearing mixed kebab which we couldnt finish. All cooked in front of you on a charcoal grill. Got to go back!!

Decent tasty food but over priced; very noisy environment and difficult to hold conversation across the table. Salad very pickled orientated. Dimly lit to see menu and what you are eating! Wouldnt revisit.

Greated by a girl with dread locks who said Id rather not be here, not the best start..... Food ordered and drinks. My wife starter came 5 minutes before mine and as a result we were offered a free drink. Main course came wrong although the food was nice the service was lacking and mistakes rectified after half eaten plate just not good enough. Would I come again.....No with approximately 20 diners in restaurant at time we were it was very poor but food was nice hence 2 stars not 1. To sum up bad night at the office it seems.

A varied menu, excellently cooked, friendly and helpful staff to explain what each flavour is, child friendly, and a great dining experience. Would highly recommend.

We visited here for my brothers birthday. The food was perfect. The portions could be slightly bigger but the quality of the food is amazing. The staff were very polite and attentive.

At £15 platter for 2, this was seriously disappointing. Got 2 pieces of halloumi (one eachand 2 pieces of ‘falafel’ (one each, the worst falafel I’ve ever had - didn’t even taste like it). Hardly enough to fill one! Unless you want to fill up just on hummus... wouldn’t recommend.

Good food and the staff were really wonderful. Went with a large group of friends, and the staff were so tolerant, took pictures for us and sorted requests immediately.

Casablanca is probably the best restaurant that I have been to in a while, with a large choice on the menu, the food is always well prepared and cooked to perfection.I have been to Casablanca twice, one time it was on Valentines Day and another time it was on a Friday night out. Both times the food was outstanding. It has taken a little for it to be prepared, but I expected that as its freshly cooked.On the Valentines Day, I had to book seats earlier as the year before the resturant was fully so I was afraid the same would happen this year; I was correct to think that, the restaurant was packed. Eventhough it was full, I still had good time as the atomosphere at the restaurant is great.I have seem few people complaining about the food, but I personally do not have problem paying current prices. I feel like this restaurant deserves it, and they have earned it.I highly recommend visiting Casablanca.

Food was amazing but when we went up to the till to pay we found mouldy fruit and almost dead mint that had been added to our drinks! Such a shame as I loved this place but wont return

First time tried Casablanca on a friends suggestion. It was a decent experience. Wood was really tasty. I was looking for something different from regular burger fries or Italian. It was actually good. Although my Non vegetarian friends were not very happy as non veg main course was 80% vegies :-). You can definitely give a try.

Absolutely lovely food. Would definitely recommend to anyone who asks. If you are looking for fresh, flavoursome and different to the norm, then please give this place a try and you will not be disappointed. Glad to have found this place.

Nice restaurant, many choices on the menu, have only eaten here once, the food was pretty good but slightly over priced. The service was good but it was a Monday night and only one other couple eating when we ate, I would eat here again though.

Friendly, helpful staff. Visible cooking area with chefs hard at work. Plenty of choice on menu. Generous portions of meat. Slightly dry and salty if i am being critical, but otherwise enjoyable meal.

Given two stars because of the service - it is the most awful service I could ever have imagined ! They only seem to be attentive to large groups of people and dismissive of the smaller 2 people / 4 people groups. First time going with family, no service received after food came to the table (to see if top of drinks or any other dishes etc were required). On another occasion, tried it again with one friend so two of us, waited over 45minutes (we asked 3 times in this time period and were told to waitfor someone to come over and at least take drinks order but no one came, so we just left and went to Wagamamas. The food here is amazing! Cannot fault the chef one bit, but the service is atrocious - HUGE let down, for I regard as the best ethnic restaurant in Ipswich. Disappointed I will not be coming back here due to lack of service which lets it down when it could be such a Gem in this town. Never mind, hopefully this review is taken on board !

Lovely Waitress but the food is far too over priced and not value for money. The mixed grill at £18.90 with 2 cubes of chicken 1 koftee 2 cubes of lamb some skinny wings and yes 1 lamb chop 1 small lamb chop not surprised the place is empty most of the time. The humus £5:50 for such a small amount considering it doesnt cost much to produce this is how you lose long term custom. No value for money id avoid this place..

Celebrated my birthday with family and friends. Waitress was brilliant. Chef cooked excellent dishes. Nothing was too much trouble. Thankyou for making my evening special.

Amazing food. Service can be a little hit and miss, but its friendly and has a relaxed atmosphere. One of our favourites to go back too.

Three days ago I had a date with my man and we decided to celebrate our anniversary there.We didnt know that restaurant before.Oh my God it was so great! In the South of France where I grew up, during summer we do BBQ. And we love to grill some merguez sausages. I was pleased to have them as a starter, as I cant find them anywhere else in Ipswich.We then shared the most amazing lamb, prunes and apricots tagine. We just wished it was bigger for the price. But it was really tasty.Then we shared baklavas. Its the only place Ive been able to have some.We had such a great evening and were really pleased with our meal.We also loved the oriental music.I highly recommend this restaurant. If every dish is as good as those we had, then it will soon become my favourite place to eat.

Well worth a visit. Varied menu, reasonably priced and a smart but casual feel to the place. The only criticism was that my veggie friend thought that the vegetables in her dish were possibly a little tired. (Even so she still declared it to be very tasty). The delightful (Polishwaitress was exceptionally pleasant and helpful, adding to the enjoyment of the evening.

Yummy ! We shared the grill platter for 2 and it was divine! Will be back again when the craving for meat hits !

Great welcome apart from not offering to take our coats for hanging.Good mixed platter and plenty of it. Not the sort of food I’d want regularly but great for a change.

One of the best restaurants in the area. Waiting staff were all very friendly, the decor was really nice and the food was simply amazing. Seeing the chefs work at the BBQ was a nice touch too. Had a lovely meal and evening here and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Being 100% honest we only booked our work Xmas meal here because mahzen had been booked out by a single party but were we disappointed? Not in the slightest!The service was very fast and friendly with very accommodating waitresses, the starters were fairly simple but tasty affairs and came out nice and quick before a small gap while the mains were fired up on the coals. All 4 of us had the mixed grill and oh wow it was amazing, all of the meat was perfectly cooked and even the items that are usually the most bland thing on the plate such as the rice were absolutely full of flavour. Desserts soon followed once again nice simple, quick, flavour packed menu items.We went in blind but came out pleasantly surprised, we werent expecting it to be better than mahzen but the mixed grill beat it hands down, now all they need is fried mussels on the starter menu and theyre golden!

Very good and freshly prepared food. All grilled options are great. The atmosphere of the place is nice and the staff are very friendly. The price is also good. Totally recommendable.

Weve tried takeaway a few times but this time we decided to eat in. We were not disappointed whatsoever. The service & food were both spot on. Well definitely be returning here again.

Utterly brilliant. Wednesday night 26th of July was my second visit and they have remained top notch. We were there to celebrate my 63rd and my sons 30th Birthdays and we had a fantastic time. Marvellous food, attentive and friendly staff and welcoming ambiance. Ive no hesitation in recommending this gem of a place.

A quiet Wednesday night. Service excellent. Starter of the house hummus superb. Veggy tagine for mains lacked a little in flavour not sure why but not bad but wouldnt have again. Companions lamb however got 2 thumbs up. Would revisit. The charcoal grill looks a goody too

Beautiful, fresh, delicately spiced food in more than ample portions. Hummus was delicious, lamb melted in the mouth. Great, attentive service. Tastefully decorated. Definitely will be back.

High quality Arabic food, from good chefs. A strange mix of food from each end of the med. However tasty with a good service. However rather pricey for the portion size. Lovely decor.
