They moved us to another room on the second night without telling us. They also touched and moved our stuff. Not coming back here again that’s for sure.

The room looked nice upon arrival, but when we came back in the evening the noise from clubs downstairs was at an insane level. Because the door of the room as well as the slide door to the balcony where paper thin and did not close all the way, it felt like we were inside the club. This went on until 4 in the morning. Next to that there was also loud noises from the plumbing every time someone used the bathroom next door. Needless to say I did not get a second of sleep here. The next morning I woke up to my floor (and all my stuff that was lying therecovered with tiny ants. They were crawling around everywhere. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Just an all around incredible place staffed with the best. They have been so great and have gone out of there way to help me and act like a friend in the thee times Ive stayed there. They even gave me a free night during and exceptional trying time. And can I say lively and in a perfect location? Only mark is you cant bring guests back. Couldnt recommend enough! Especially that cutie Victor!

Renowned as a party hostel, it was actually very quiet when we went in the pandemic. Staff, leave you alone and are generally around to give you a drink when you want. The location is excellent and right in the middle of the action. Overall I really enjoyed the experience for the price. On the otherside, the bed was firmer than I would like. The smallest noises travel around every room. A 4 year old was running around the hostel at 7am. You could hear every scream as if they were sitting next to you. If this was the hotel during a quiet period, I cant imagine sleeping when its busy.

Excellent location in El Poblano, hot showers, excellent roof tops views. The staff were generally friendly but flat out unhelpful with the surrounding area though. I asked different persons at the front desk several times for food recommendations in the area and got responses like I dont know, I dont live around here. It seemed like a burden to them to stop their conversations among themselves to assist me in this way. The morning I left there was no one to let me out or help with calling a cab, two staples I think of a good hostel.

Great place, chill vibes and super nice staff! Although this place could use an update in terms of accommodation it is still my go to place in El Poblado for many times because of the atmosphere and service!

excellent hostel in barrio el poblado. Love all the different areas to chill. Good WiFi. Lots of hammocks to hang out. Rooftop chill area. A little theater with Netflix. A nice kitchen with free coffee and tea. Really friendly staff. Only complaint is we thought we’d have room to park our 2 motorcycles in the garage but when we arrived there wasn’t any space.

We spent 2 nights there in a private double bedroom and had 2 completely different experience: first night was amazing, calm and spacious bedroom. They changed us to room 9, next to dormitories and bathroom/toilets for the second night: couldnt sleep with constant noise during entire night (Monday night so supposedly quiet night). Make sure you ask for the right bedroom when you book. Otherwise friendly staff and great hostel.

Nice vibe and cool hang out areas including hammocks area and rooftop bar/pool. The area that the hostel is situated in is a great area for tourists and very safe. Loads of delicious places to eat in Pablado. Unfortunately water was not available (in toilets or tapsfor 50% of the time and there was little-to-no communication from the hostel about this issue. Toilet paper cannot be flushed in Medellin (afaikso be aware of that when visiting the city. Room was not cleaned during the 4 days that I stayed here.

Nice Location, friendly staff and a cute house cat!Downsides: the room we booked (2 beds, shared bathroomhad just a little window and the smell was weird. Also the music from the bar next to the Hostel could be noticed in our room until 4am. Furthermore, one of the 2 beds just broke. However, the staff was very quick and removed the whole bed within 3 hours.

Ever get sick of sleeping on vacation? Then come to Casa Kiwi! Beginning at 7 a.m. every day (even on SATURDAY), a symphony of belt sanders, table saws, and bench grinders roar to life - ensuring you don’t waste ANY time in bed. Each morning begins with a bang! Heavy bamboo stalks are dropped at random, sending thunderous reverberations throughout the entire hostel. Nail guns fill brief interludes with a staccato “pop!-pop!-pop!” and screaming workers round out the chorus.“But it’s only 7:30, it can’t be over! Encore! Encore!” you might say. Don’t worry. Right when you think it’s possible to steal a single wink, the cement-footed foreman clomps around dropping bocce balls and paint cans.A can’t miss!

We stayed in Casa Kiwi for a night. We met coolest party people there. We made a mistake of booking another hostel for next couple of days so had to check out. But its very close to parque Lleras and is in central Poblado.Only downside, staff were not exactly friendly but great place to meet cool party travelers.

extremely unfriendly and nonchalant staff.. Would not recommend this place at all. They have a restaurant which is tasteless and not fresh. The price for a private bedroom is the same as the price of a hotel room in the aera.

The main problem with Casa Kiwi is that if something goes wrong during your stay, the staff will do nothing to help rectify the situation. Instead, they will be uninterested about your problem and are generally unfriendly in any case. For example - on the second day of my stay, I arrived back at my dorm to find some of my dorm mates smoking a joint, which was against hostel policy. As Im not a smoker myself, I asked the reception if they could move me to a different room as the dorm smelled badly of smoke/cannabis. I was told this was not possible, as I had already booked (and payedfor the night but they would ask the smokers to stop. I decided not to make a fuss. However, the next day, exactly the same thing happened again. This time, people continued to smoke in my dorm until 3am, despite me asking them to stop 3/4 times. The next morning, I told reception what had happened and the member of staff on duty said this is not our problem. Even after I explained to them that it was their problem because drugs were being consumed in their hostel, they refused to let me move rooms or refund my nights stay in the smoke dorm. Although I was told the manager would email me, this never happened. For me, this attitude sums up what is wrong with Casa Kiwi - the hostel has reached an unfounded level of popularity amongst travellers so that it no longer needs to concern itself with ensuring that each individual traveller has a pleasant stay. I would absolutely recommend staying elsewhere.

Really nice place, but not without cost. Great rooftop. Smallish rooms. Little social vibe: Strict rules on noise, guests aren’t allowed past ground floor, lights in communal areas turned off around 1, no inflexibility for rules. I would recommend if you want a quiet place to stay, or if you already have a group, feels like hotel than hostel. Surrounding area El Polado nicknamed ‘Gringoland’ by locals.

Is such a nice place to hung out and to stay. Prices are reasonably. I was there 8 May 18, and the kitchen was still under major renovation. But the hostel food was good and to average price. Highly recommended

the common areas are cool and they have free water & coffee. BUT the rooms are very basic and not as lovely as the rest of the hostel. a part of the staff is not friendly at all. it was very loud in the room and they didn‘t empty the bin in our bathroom for 4 days. the kitchen was closed because of renovation, but there was no information prior to our arrival.

The hostel is great! Friendly and sociable staff. I stayed in a private room which was exactly as expected. There are great places to grab breakfast right outside the door, such as Bon Marché and Ganso y Castor (best eggs Ive ever had!). Exito is right across the hostel, which is perfect for stocking up on foods and necessities. Casa Kiwi is also far enough from the noise of Happy Buddha on the next street, but close enough where its only a 3 minute walk. Would stay here again!

My favorite hostel in Medellin.People here were very friendly and at nights you could have lots of drinks on the rooftop with them if you wanted. But this did not disturb the other people who wanted a good sleep. The street it is on is quieter than other parts of El Poblado but the wild areas are only a block away.

Casa kiwi...staff is disinterested. Wifi doesnt work. Guests are mostly aloof. Dorm is suffocatingly hot even with a ceiling fan. One night only. I can deal with everything except no wifi and a room with no air circulating. I hate that I paid to sleep in a hot box.

Its surely one of the best places to stay in Medellin. If you are 2 People ask for a privat room Nr. 13. its the cheapest without Bath and the nicest at the top of the hostal, quite and with big windows. If you pay With Card they charge you 5% which is quite a lot. But the Drinks and Food is cheaper than in Most other places!
