Casa Del Caribe Inn in San Juan

Great affordable place in the middle of el Condado. The hotel is dated but it is clean, safe, two blocks away from the beach and close to everything in the Condado section of San Juan.

Cancelaron mi vuelo por el huracán y no pude viajar a PR. Le pedí un refund y dijeron que no. Como me han robado cientos de dólares, jamás y nunca volveré hacer una reservación con este Inn.My flight got cancelled because of the hurricane and I could not travel to PR. I requested a refund and I was told that they would not provide a refund. As this company has robbed me of hundreds of dollars, I will not ever return for or recommend making a reservation at this Inn.It’s unfortunate that you have no consideration for acts of god or your guests and are okay with stealing money and hiding behind a bad policy. If I cannot fly to PR how am I to receive your services?

I am late with this posting, however I must give flowers to this wonderful facility and their staff. I have been a guest here for over 7 years and am never disappointed with the customer service, in particular, Eddie. Eddie has provided top notch service for not only myself, but my family and friends as well. He moves backs and forth between Casa and the sister hotel/property, Canario, which is located across the street. Eddie is the reason I have yet to entertain another facility when I travel annually to San Juan. If you’re into big fancy corporate stays, this spot may not be for you, but for those looking for something intimate, accessible, secure, and comfortable, Casa del Caribe is exactly what you’re looking for. It is conveniently located across the street from several beach entrances, whereas you will not need a rental car if you don’t plan on leaving Candado. You’re also engulfed in an area surrounded by delicious food/dining and resources...also only a 10 minute taxi/Uber from to/from the airport. I highly recommend Casa to all visitors of Candado Beach. Enjoy!

Old run down dump not worth $25. Photos are misleading and not a true representation of what they actually have.Flimsy lock on door felt totally unsafe. Should have slept in the car.

I do not recommand this hotel the customer Service are rude and nasty. I have book a room in May though expedia I had to cancel due to personnel issue when I tried to call 3 weeks in advance to cancel my visit was told this is a non refundable and it was book by a three party . I try to get a credit from the hotel they were not helpful at all but very nasty. BEWARE when booking a room here..

The place was cute for what it was and the price. Seeing other reviews about the paint color etc.. not sure the big deal. Its Puerto Rico. Things are colorful. We were only there for 6 hours before a very early flight but the space was basically 1 room with 2 beds, a pull out couch and a small kitchen and a nice TV on a table. Again, it was cute. The bathroom was in a separate hallway or room that had no air conditioning but if you kept the door to it closed it was fine. There was a cute courtyard at the entrance that I wish we had time to enjoy. The location is nice, its a block away from the Marriott Casino, restaurants, shops and not far from the beach. If we had stayed there in the beginning instead of the night before we left it would have been a great spot. The only downfall there was is there was NO PARKING. We luckily found a paid lot across the street but it was hourly pay so that would have been expensive if we had stayed for days. We were told if we had to park on another block to not leave anything in our car so the was a definite negative (maybe a contract with the paid lot for tenants to pay a specific price to have a spot there?...just a suggestionbut other than that, I would stay here again and for longer.

Pros- great location and block away from Condado beach. Many restaurants to choose from the area.Cons- no parking. Dont park at the Marriott garage. They charged us $72 for one night. Hard to find street parking around the area. There is a parking lot down the street that is 24/7. You can enter in and out for $19. The rooms are outdated and barely hot water. The kitchen looked as it wasnt cleaned from previous people. We were gonna use the stove and thank God we didnt turn it on. We found empty beer bottles inside.If you are just looking for a place just to sleep and rest then its a place for you.

Terrible terrible stay. No problem with the price but you get what you pay for. I recommend spending more money on a place with actual quality rooms and quality service even the responses they give to people reviewing are very rude. Honestly this place should be shut down.

If I could give this place no stars I would. This was my first time flying alone and all my flights were getting canceled and delayed. When I arrive at Houston which was a flight before Puerto Rico, I ended up getting stuck in Houston because the flight I had changed to the next day. When I tried to get in contact with the hotel about my situation they were very undecipherable and rude. They kept saying it’s non refundable, which I understand when I booked. But not being able to arrive was completely out of my control. They did not care nor did they try to contact me. When something is out of your control they will still take your money no matter the situation you run into. Very inconsiderate, I’m happy I never got to get there because I’m sure with the reviews they have it would’ve been a mess. I do not recommend this place to anyone who might have a difficulty with their flights as well as if you don’t wanna run into rude staff and managers.

My recent stay at the Casa Del Caribe was good. This was my first time staying at a guesthouse, and I was pleasantly surprised by the warm hospitality I received and the relaxing atmosphere it boasted. Staffing was hit-or-miss. Most days, there was not an employee prior to two o’clock. This does pose a challenge for arriving guests or those that need assistance during their stay. Even though staff was not physically there, they were only one telephone call away and were happy to assist. I was pleasantly surprised by the well-kept manner of the grounds and exterior courtyard. It was an inviting environment and relaxing to lounge in. Most of the rooms are located in a single story house. Upon entering, I was happy to see it was clean and well-kept. I stayed in room four for the six days I was here. The room was satisfactory. The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the smart television was a nice added amenity. There were, however, some downsides to the room. The paint job was poor. I’m not really sure why the room was painted in three different colors. Whoever completed the paint job was not careful, as dried paint stained the hardwood floors and bed skirt. The water pressure in the bathroom was poor. The water was never hot, only tolerably warm. The bathroom door had clearly endured water damage, with peeling paint on the bottom. It was also clear there had been water damage at times, as ceiling panels were stained. During my stay, the internet was unreliable, and power was intermittent. Sometimes, the lights would flicker. While the bed itself was comfortable and sheets were clean, the comforter had cigarette burns in it. I presume these are from a while ago, since the entire property is nonsmoking and there are very stringent policies in place. It is also important to mention that there is no daily housekeeping, however, fresh towels are available when a receptionist is on duty. One night, towards the end of my stay, a housekeeper did service my room and did a wonderful job. While there were some negatives, the hospitality I received, location, and access to beautiful sister properties boasting an elegant hot tub and pool more than made up for them. I would consider staying here in the future, but would probably pay a little more to stay at one of the aforementioned sister properties.
