Casa Alvarez in Dodge City
Description
Privilege
Service was good. Very good, in fact. We ordered the Flautas [chicken] plate and a Colorado Burrito. Bob said the burrito was delicious and I did like the chips and salsa. We were warned that our plates were hot, but the center of my Flauta was cold. I do not believe they were deep fried when I ordered them. I only ate a portion. Was not impressed.
MoreGood Mexican food for a real decent price. These ppl know how to make red sauce right. Very busy so thats always a good sign. Could use some fixing up in spots, but even so Im already looking forward to eating here again next time were in Dodge. Used a credit card here and didnt get any unusual charges that I know of so the credit card problems ppl mentioned must have taken care of themselves
MoreAdrian and Paulina were great help, The chicken tacos were excellent, absolutely the best meatball soup.
MoreThis is probably my favorite Mexican food place to eat in Dodge City. Friendly staff, great food, super fast service and really fair prices.
MoreGood food, but mixed our order up.
Service good. Chicken bone in my enchiladas, pulled out 2 bay leaves!
I had the cheese and bean burrito. It was huge and very tasty. I thought about ordering the small burrito and I wish I would have. Service was excellent. There is a small charge for credit cards which was posted at the registrar. I wish that had been more prominent but that is the only negative.
MoreGreat Mexican restaurant! Our waitress was top notch. The portions were BIG, and the food was delicious! Definitely worth stopping in Dodge!
MoreDelicious food! Always get the chicken and beef fajitas and no place makes them as good as they do here!!
MoreThis place is the best! Great food at good prices friendly staff
Better than your typical local Mexican eaterys. Food was fresh and tasted delicious. The server was very nice and accommodating. Ask for the queso Blanco with a side of their hottest hot sauce. Mix the two and youll be in heaven.
MoreThe food was very good but they were understaffed.
Went in for a to-go order. Food was excellent. Got the steak and shrimp with Fajitas and a chimichanga. Would definitely eat again if im ever in town.👌🏼
MoreThis place has some awesome salsa! It’s a little thin but awesome none the less! Chips came out hot too! I got the fajita quesadilla which was very good but my husband got the chicken one and didn’t care for it. He said it seemed like it was marinated in worchestshire sauce maybe. We both ate off mine and had more than plenty (they are bigespecially after all the great chips and salsa. I do think that we caught them with some staff issues as the help seemed a little scattered, friendly, but just not on their A game maybe, or possibly short of staff, or maybe run down after lunch? Anyway, a great meal and experience overall.
MoreSo for Mexican food this place is just average. I placed an order over the phone and it was ready on arrival. However, there were some key components missing. One, the flour tortillas were missing from the fajitas. Two, the main meat dish was as well. Three, I’m not sure how one is supposed to eat enchiladas without a fork and spoon, but those were missing too. Small details like this are really important for takeout. The food was wrapped beautifully, and we had a large quantity of chips in which to eat the beans and enchiladas without forks. Eating here is fine, but make sure everything is in order before leaving.
MoreTake out order. Food was completely fine, but missing key components of the order. Would pass on next visit to DC.
MoreFood was good and came out fast. They were only running 1 wait person and a bus person who only brought out chips and salsa. The waitress forgot a few things or this couldve been a perfect score; the food was that good. My suggestion would be have the bus person check on drinks on tables also. This way if the guests need anything else he can inform the 1 waitress so she wont miss anything.
MorePretty good food. Salsa was a little runny but all in all the prices were good and the portion was good. 👍
MoreGood food, liked the taste of the salsa, but a little runny for me.
Good it was casual and mom and pops restaurant, which was great plenty of food nice service and friendly people.
MoreReally good food! Had the burrito de carne asada. Well worth it.
Great Mexican food. This place has been owned by the same family and in business for over 30 years... and there is a reason for that longevity: great service and great food!
More10/10 AMAZING. I ordered 10 minutes before closing (a very complicated order at that& staff was still extremely pleasant, food was hot & also delicious.
MoreGood was great. Expected it to be a slow time but restaurant filled up... Must be due to the food
MoreVery good enchiladas, tamales just ok, chicken quesadilla the girl had was excellent. If I return probably give the tacos a try, waitress was super nice.
MoreReasonably priced and utilitarian thats a cut above basic. Items have distinctive flavors and are well cooked, not just "Mexican food" flavored. Went for dinner, tried another place, back here a couple more times.
MoreThe food is supper good but make sure you bring a good appetite the portions can be really big ! The prices are fair too!
MoreGreat authentic Mexican food! Been going there for years. Carnitas Enchiladas my fav...
MoreCasa Alvarez served some of the most delicious Mexican food -- an unexpected treat given we chose it simply because of its proximity to the motel. I highly recommend eating there whether youre traveling through or live in the area.
MoreWe ate here on the evening of July 3, 2019. The service was terrible. There was only one guy waiting on tables and he never came back to the table after our food was served. He didnt bring us our ticket, we had to go to the front counter to pay.The food was terrible, it was dry and nooked to death. I ate 2 bites of my food and left the rest.
MoreVery good Mexican food along with good service. Will definitely go back.
Best Mexican food ever! The Alvarez family are wonderful hosts. Not franchise! This is the real deal!!
MoreGood food and good service.
Wonderful authentic Mexican food, friendly staff. Clean, comfortable sit down.
Before getting out of Dodge City - Insane weather today.I couldnt decide where to eat for lunch till I saw interesting remarks for Casa Alvarez.Delightfully surprised when I walked in to see a variety of people stopping for Spanish Cuisine.I ordered: Cup of Meatball soup, 1 Chicken Enchilada, 1 Tamale, and their delicious dessert.5 star cleanliness5 star service5 star accuracy5 star flavor and temp of foodIf a reader has not yet tried Casa Alvarez, it is a must! The food was delicious, service was spot on and with a genuine smile. What caught my attention was the dessert and I had to try it. It was out of this world!I will gladly return for trying different menu items.
MoreGreat food and a homey atmosphere. Been coming here for as long as I can remember. Always make a visit when family is in town. Family loves their burrito options and gets them every time
MoreThe only thing I dont like is the salsa. Flavor is ok, but its too watered down. Everything else is wonderful.
MoreCasa Alvarez is always one of our first choices when trying to decide where to eat out at. Amazing food, great service, what more could you ask for? We love the huevos rancheros, cheeto burrito, and burrito de carne asada. A must-visit here in Dodge City!
MoreThis was the WORST Mexican restaurant Ive ever been to. The salsa was runny and consisted mostly of just black pepper. They gave us one tiny bowl of it, so when I asked for more, I received an attitude. The queso was cold and overpriced for a very tiny amount. The refried beans were somehow wet?? Like water had been poured underneath them. Tasted awful. The TWO tacos were small, meat inside was just basically roast and there was only cheese and lettuce. That taco meal was $8+. Everything is overpriced and repulsive. Im so grateful that I dont ever have to eat there again. Also I would like to add that the smell of the establishment was just depressing. Overwhelmingly like moth balls and sadness.
MoreThe food is a hit and miss. Sometimes it’s done properly, sometimes they give you a dish that’s improperly prepared. The owners of the restaurant are not good people. Definitely feel bad for the employees who Work for these Degenerates.
MoreOrder the fajita burrito if you are really hungry. Muy deliciosio! If this is your first visit, tell them. They will deliver a wonderful dessert! Well be back.
MoreIve been loving Casa Alvarez since 08 great food always good service and friendly people. I highly recommend the chicken quesadilla.
MoreI was with a large group of about 20 people and we were all served together and our meals were hot. The servers were friendly and made sure our group had everything. Each person was well taken care of and refills on drinks were offered without leaving anyone out or missing anyone.
MoreI am so glad I found this place! The food was good, reasonably priced, and the staff was very friendly.
MoreCasa Alvarez is the best Mexican Restaurant in Dodge City! We love their food and they have outstanding customer service!
MoreGreat tasting food & fast service !
Have gone there for years. One I my favorite places. Great food, good service!!!
Terrible. Ordered 5 burritos de carne asada and I get 5 bean burritos with a little bit of meat on it for 9.50 each. The burritos are only average sized. Also the guac was bland and they didnt even bother to spread the guac on the burrito. They dont have horchata or anything like that, only soda. Our order took quite a while and no one else was there. The building itself looks like a 10 year painted and made it. The furniture is nice but thats about it. Overpriced and bad food.
MoreVery good food and great service. Very friendly staff. Would recommend their fajitas and carne asada.
MoreFantastic food with low prices and large portions. Definetly eat here if your passing through.
