Casual restaurant & sports-bar chain featuring American pub fare, a long beer list & a kids' menu.
Honestly the only time you get any decent service is sitting at the bar. Other than that it is a great possibility of leaving dissatisfied. Drinks just doesnt do it for me. I love to go hear and watch games not view in local area with NFL Sunday ticket. Staff always seems as if they just dont want to be at work.
Food was pretty good, grilled wings just needed to be charred a little longer. Ranch was very good. Waitress was nice.
So nice and professional are the staff members. Always attentive to customers with pleasant and professional attitudes. Greeted with smiles from start to finish. Rebecca took my to go order at the bar. Extra upon extra stars for this young lady. Very deserving of a generous tip. She has a strong knowledge of the brand, and above and beyond patience. Restrooms always clean and well stocked. You can never go wrong with flavor, always consistent. Generous portions offering a bang for your buck. I happen to meet the general manager not knowing who she was. I was bragging on this place to her. How pleasant and humble she remained. Cool calm and collective. Treating her team well. This explains why this place is in order. A ship only float well with a good captain.
Food was great but the waitress was non existent. Took 20 min for her to come over and take our food order, another 30+ minutes to get our food, never came back to check on our table (so never got drink refill). We then placed a takeaway dessert order & asked for our checks and the dessert took another 20 min to come out.
Their outdoor patio is not dog friendly, so I order takeout mostly. But their grilled wings are my favorite in town!
We went for lunch on my BD. I ordered steak and fried shrimp. My wife ordered a Philly cheese steak, no green peppers, extra mushrooms. I dont know if the waitress was not all there at the time but she brought the sandwich out, and it was made wrong. No biggie, it happens. Sent it back to be remade and it was wrong again. Not a complicated order. The manager had to personally make it to assure us it was made properly.
Atmosphere the bomb. Good to watch the games. Waitress was sorry. We had to wave her down to get service. Then she didnt get items we requested that was missing from our order to begin with. And the place wasnt even busy at the bar. The 2nd waiter that came in. He was on point.
Decent food. Ordered 3 dishes and got two of them about 35 after the first one showed up and we got here before any remote dinner rush. The last two dishes showed up lukewarm and in our taco dish only one of the tortillas had been fried. Waitress was extremely slow in refilling drinks and getting us the check, it was also our second time having this waitress and it was the exact same way before. Will be taking my business to other restaurants from now on, second chance wasted
Always good, solid beer selection, the cheese curds and pepper jelly to dip them in are a staple for me everytime I go.
Loaf!! Besides the vast huge selection of beers we were blown away with the meat loaf!! Its a must have and be hungry cause its a lot.
Ughhh I don’t even leave reviews but my experience was annoying to say the least. A few days ago i ordered a burger asked for no fried onions no special sauce and no pickles and when it was delivered it had all the above on it. My boyfriend got the Philly and it was good so for lunch i decided to try again and asked for no mushrooms. Clearly they thought i asked for all the mushrooms because why did i not have onions and peppers but a hella of a lot of mushrooms. I was on my lunch break so i couldn’t even take it back i just had to pick the mushrooms off. I understand mistakes happen but twice in a 7 day time period i give up.
Kimo is the best sever in Augusta! We’ve been coming to Ale house for over a year and he always goes above and beyond for us! Definitely recommend coming to see him. -Lilly and Andrew
They changed their menu on usIm sad. They had a turkey wrap sandwich that was amazing 🤩Its gone now.So I had to give them 4 starsThe food here is good.I do recommend this restaurant.Friendly, good service,But we loved that wrapLOL bring it backPlease 🥺
Love this place. Of ordering the nachos appetizer, its enough to work as a meal for two people.4 stars because those nachos can be hit or miss on how fresh the chips are. Service and atmosphere are excellent
Great patio, open late the place is a real sports bar with a pool table. I only gave them 4 stars becausevi did not try the food only the beer. But i will go back an try the food.
Extremely lazy staff. Wait time for food is always ridiculous. And they probably have 1 maybe 2 good bartenders. After 10 they will tell you that almost everything thats actually decent is unavailable.
I didn’t get my salad other than that it was pretty good except the fried items tasted like they were cooked in burnt oil.
Salad was fresh , it was about the only wheat free option on the menu. My husband said the patty melt wasnt very good. Would love to see more wheat free/gluten free options.
Fried pickles and cheese curds are delicious. Everything else, not so much. Its probably better if you go there to drink, but I went for the food.
First-time visit. I was pleasantly surprised at the ambiance. I expected more selections from the menu. I did enjoy the veggies and potatoes. The ribeye was slightly tough to chew and seemed more well-done than expected. The price was very reasonable. The other menu selection chosen was meatloaf. The flavor and texture was quite different than what I had envisioned. However the server was spot on and made up for what our tastebuds are accustomed to. I would still come back and try other menu items in the future.
He had the patty melt & fries SPOT ON!I had the salmon w vegtables and rice w a jalapeño cilantro & lime creama. Sooo good!! Melt in your mouth goodness. The missing star is because the rice was hard and it took 3 tries to serve tea that had soap in it. Food was great though. Highly recommend and no wait Monday afternoon
Our food was very disgusting. i ordered Nashville and got buffalo. never again this was my worst experience ever this was so nasty the lettuce taste so nasty. salad was just so nasty i wouldn’t recommend never again. the drinks were also nasty too
My coworker just ordered a hamburger no cheese. They bring it out with cheese. He sent it back. We waited 10 minutes thinking they were cooking a new one. These people actually scraped the cheese off the burger flipped it over and brought it back out!!!Beware!!!!!
Decided to come eat for lunch. We sat outside due to the weather being nice. The bartender/waitress was nice but that was it. Ordered a Philly steak sandwich for lunch while my guest order French onion soup. Right ontop of my open sandwich was two noticeable black hairs. I sent it it back as it grossed me out that no one noticed it after it was made, plated, and brought to me. The soup was over salted and had more basil leaves in then it should. We didn’t eat anything and left. Food has gone down massively.
2022-08: I had left a 4 star rating two years ago without a review, and after a few more experiences, I decided to actually leave some commentary. Ive dined in, as well as had delivery through a third party delivery service. (My review is based purely on Carolina Ale House, their food, and any interactions with their employees only. The third party delivery service is not a factor in my review or rating. The handful of experiences Ive had, either dining in or delivery, have been decent. When dining in, the service was good and the restaurant was orderly. The food was hot and good. My most recent experience was a late night delivery. My order was perfect and arrived hot. Thankful for the (trulylate night menu.
It was horrible!!!!! I will never come here ever again I went there with my family and The calamari was like thick rubber. The fried pickles also known as frickles were the only good thing because the salads taste good but I threw up in my mouth 7 times when I left. The Plant based chicken sandwich was the worst sandwich I have ever had!The fries were freezing, the wings were horrible, and I could not even bite the meat on the ribs, and that is why you should never come here!
Quite possibly the worst nachos I’ve ever had. Perfect example that quantity does not equal quality. Chips were stale and hard (not crunchy), barely any queso or toppings, just a light sprinkle on top over a massive bed of stale chips. I paid extra for the beef and they hardly put any on there, not to mention it was cold and dry too, as if they crumbled up some beef jerky on there. It is ironic that its called “Carolina Queso LOADED Nachos” when it was anything but loaded. Around $15 for a bed of stale chips and old beef with minor decorations to make it look appealing. Nachos may not be their specialty, but I’ve had better nachos from gas stations and Highschool concession stands.
Clean. Great wait staff. Menu does not have a lot on it. I ordered a grilled chicken salad, and BOY! was I pleasantly surprised! I havent had a salad that looked that good since before Covid. Look beyond the few selections. This restaurant focuses on a few things and presents them well!
the food was pretty good and the service was great staff is very friendly and helpful
Waiter did not write order down, for party of 4, and I specified I wanted mine "well done". Meal served and it was very pink so I sent back. Instead of breaking sandwich down and redoing meat...they HELD the edge of sandwich against grill (seen by burnt edges). Still was not well done after eating only a small amount of sandwich and told waiter. They gave me a discount instead of taking off ticket!! Do not recommend.
Wings may be a little expensive, but our server Kimo made up for it with his near perfect service, awesome & friendly personality and refreshing professionalism. He definitely made our experience there worthwhile. We will definitely ask for him next time we want some chicken wings. And he was great with our kids as well.
Absolutely the worst its ever been. Poor management all the way around. The hostess tried to sit us at a table with dishes in the booth 😡 ordered the spinach dip and the runner brought it out and everything slid off the plate onto the table. He grabbed it with his hands and put them back on the plate 😡 I ordered the ribeye and it was prepped with zero care . The staff sucks. The management is terrible. Absolutely wouldnt recommend this place to anyone !
Waitress was cool...not her fault. First the drink I ordered had hair in it...ok...things happen...wait almost an hour for our food because "they got kinda busy and forgot about us, but we made sure to make it fresh." Cool...Had a 6 piece wing...the wings were so overcooked they were inedible. Was I offered another batch? Nope!! The manager would "just make sure theyre cooking them better" (i guess for anyone else who orders them). In fact, other than the hour long wait for the food, the manager never showed face after the complaint. This place has always been some mid so im definitely never going back again.
Went for lunch today and the restaurant was probably 1/4 full. We were seated promptly. After more than 10 minutes without being greeted, where servers were working tables around us and seeing them grouping around the bar we left. My wife and I both worked in the industry, so we understand difficulties. This was just a lack of proper management in my opinion. Shame, I really liked this place.
Sat there for a few minutes while the bartender checked her Facebook status. Food was overcooked. Better places in town.
We went with my Husbands father. He has AlS and doesnt even eat real food much anymore. All he wanted was a couple beers. We had a terrible waiter that kept disappearing. He never even refilled water. My husband helped take his dad to the bathroom and came back and realized his burger with a few bites was taken away. What set me off is my father in law ordered 1 more beer and it never came. I had to get the manager to figure out where out waiter had gone. THANK YOU SUSAN for going above and beyond to help us and make things right. 🙏 she is the only reason Id ever come back there!
Foods great...its just everytime order to go they just forget my shrimp cocktail sauce...
My experience my good. We was greeted at the front door and seated under 2 minutes. The server was very informative about the specials going on and did great customer service. The only bad thing I would say about this visit was the wait time of our food. It was over 45 minutes, but the server kept checking to see whats going on with our food. I didnt make a scene because I understand the feeling of being a server.
The Cesar salad with grilled salmon is my all time favorite. The cool, creamy salad paired with the warm grilled salad is a match made in heaven.
Its one of the best sports bar in Augusta. US...Loved the food and the ambience as well...
The food and the service are impeccable!! The ribeye is a must try and the bartender Beccah is absolutely amazing. Trust her recommendation, she knows her stuff. Five stars isnt enough.
Quick stop heading home on New Years day. Great service and decent food. Large selection of beers and great bartenders.
On an extended visit from Brooklyn, NY and came across this spot while out and about. Nice looking Sports Bar w/ plenty of TVs, a couple of Pool Tables, tons of Seating, decent Drinks, decent Pricing, decent Food and EXCELLENT service (Henry was amazingly attentive given how thinly stretched the staff was). The staff is 100% tired and overworked but that didnt stop them from effectively feigning enthusiasm. Like a lot of places, they are severely short staffed, which naturally affects the overall experience so BE PATIENT. Ordered a few beers, cocktail, reg drinks, Frickles, Cheese Curds, Steak w/ Potatoes & Tacos. Frickles and Cheese Curds were awesome. Steak, like everywhere else, was a little over cooked but juicy and flavorful. Potatoes were pretty good, needed a little more love, but the Kitchen staff also needed more hands. Tacos were alright, meat was a bit dry but leveled out with lime juice and hot sauce. Good spot for good food, just come with extra patience and understanding.
I ordered a southern fried chicken salad and sourdough patty melt. The patty melt was super dry and caused me to choke many times and had no ketchup or anything. Just onions, cheese, and bacon on one half. Other half had missing bacon. Fries were excellent and 5 stars alone. $13 chicken salad had no chicken. I checked my order and sat in awe. How do you screw up that bad, except on purpose. I dug through the salad with my clean hands looking to find some semblance of fried chicken at the bottom of the salad. Nope. Just an overpriced salad. Immediately contacted uber eats and Carolina ale house. Both were closed so I ate the patty melt somewhat and barely touched the salad in case they call me a liar. Just glad I took pics of salad.Ps. I was given no sauces or utensils. I guess I was supposed to eat everything with my hands, including the $13 southern chicken salad with no chicken
I would give less than one star if I could. The margaritas were way too sweet. It took 20 minutes for someone to come to our table, and then an extra hour for food that was cold, unappealing, and unappetizing. I will not be returning and I highly DO NOT recommend.
My server was the only reason I stayed. Back of the house probably caused everyone in front of the house to get shorted on tips. Mothers day. There was no communication one hour ticket times on appetizers. Two hour ticket times on entrées. Cold food being brought out to the table, over heated microwaved mashed potatoes and under cooked ice cold in the middle broccoli and cauliflower. My mother was sad and I was disappointed as a first time guest who is serve safe certified. The pictures Im gonna show are of those you see where looks are not what they really were when we tried to eat our food. The first and last time Carolina Ale House Augusta will have to worry about my family and I.
Had a great time with my wife here, great food and service! Kali our waitress was awesome, she was very attentive. We both had the shrimp platter with sweet potato tots. Everything was hot, fresh and super fast! Definitely recommend you stop by.
Waitress was average . Prices weren’t too bad . Wife said her philly cheese steak sandwich was amazing . The chicken sandwich was kinda basic , I felt like it lacked seasoning . Overall it was an okay experience . Don’t come here very often but when I do I am satisfied with my experience
Their restaurant has been open for years and people generally like the drink options. Food was served very fast when we came and the food was good. I had tenders and my wife had french onion soup. Both were very good. She also had a wrap which was decent and the bill turned out to be reasonable for the amount we received.
This is like Old Chicago or Millers Ale House. I came for a meetup group and had a Southern Chicken Club: Grilled or hand-battered & fried chicken breast with lettuce, tomato, and smoked bacon, topped with housemade ranch. Served on a toasted brioche bun. $9.59. The sandwich came out hot and the fried chicken was juicy and well seasoned. The sandwich was constructed well and the price was reasonable.
