Contemporary, white-walled chain Italian cafe-deli, with pastas, handmade focaccia and a kids' menu.
Staff really very nice and friendly. Reasonable choices for food. Drinks as most places quite expensive. Do have special offers such as 2 for 1 which helps. Worked out at about £24 per head for bread starter, main and drink.
I am so sorry, dont know how it happened, meant to give you 5 stars! Not techno savvy😁 great food and lovely staff, will definitely come back again.
The staff here were so lovely. My eife and i were having a terrible day with our young kids, complete and utter disaster witha grumpy 5 year old, a tantrumming 3 year old and a 16 month old who was very poorly during our meal. The staff however were amazing, i felt so guilty and just wanted the ground to swallow me up with embarrassment but we were cobstantly reassured and helped and most importantly the food was delicious.
We went to Carluccios, Shrewsbury, as a family and my daughter found the food was excellent, in fact she said yum yum. We are vegetarian and the pasta dishes are excellent and good value. We also tried the breads and olives and these are tasty too or yum yum.
Hands down the best vegan menu in Shrewsbury. Carlotta, the waitress, answered my questions expertly and even gave the exceptional commendation of the tortellini veganzolla, which is one of the best pasta dishes Ive ever had vegan or otherwise. As long as that is on the menu, Ill definitely be back!
Nice adult environment, no children at the time not too noisy. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Had to send food back as too much parsley on top, but they were ok with this. Good value for money and food was delicious.
Overpriced food bur friendly and helpful staff. Good atmosphere!
Staff are really friendly and attentive. Food was very mediocre, uninspiring (although sounded nice on the menu), sloppy, and had the hallmarks of heated from packs. Good options for easy to drink wine. If it wasnt for the staff I would have given this 2 stars.
Family went on Boxing Day for coffee , cake and ice cream for the children. Excellent service, coffee was excellent and even our six year old grandson commented on the best ice cream and he is an expert on vanilla ice cream!
The atmosphere of the place was very pretentious, the staff were very over the top with their kindness, the food was very bland and the carbonara was very dry. There was a huge inconsistency in food as three of us had the carbonara, 1 was covered in sauce which was tasty and then the other two were as mentioned before extremely dry, I sent the food back untouched. The prices reflect only the pretentious manner of the place and not the expected good food...Wouldn’t dine here again.
An amazing place with staff that are brilliant and attentive. The food is also wonderful from a very well laid out menu.
We ate here for my boyfriends 30th birthday. We were welcomed by very friendly staff into a beautiful restaurant area with lovely candle lighting. The food was delicious and was served in a good time frame so we werent waiting too long but also didnt feel rushed. We felt the good was well priced also considering how delicious it was. Would definitely recommend a visit. We will be back!
Food good. Staff friendly and helpful. Sat out side where there was an awful smell from the drains. If you do sit out side opt for the nonsmoking area away from the drain.
Me and husband Derek went for are 31st wedding anniversary meal, it was amazing, very kind and happy staff, they gave us both a free glass of champagne, we both like to say thankyou for are lovely evening
Food was great. Catered well for a gluten intolerant diner. Service a little slow between mains and dessert.
My husband and I visited Carluccios, Shrewsbury on Sunday the 04th of August 2019 for lunch. Ellie the young waitress was very polite and pleased to give you the very best service and attention possible and her attitude to us as a customer was faultless. We are a retired couple because if we were working people with a company to run we would have offered her a job on the spot much to the loss of Carluccios, Very pleased customer, Mrs Moira McClure of Manchester
Love the food and the staff excellent. would recommend it always.
Went for lunch on a Monday, the place was all but empty yet the waitress apologize for having tables which had not been cleaned. She was polite and courteous, but appeared to be having to run the front of house on her own.Food came quickly, my lasagna was as I expected, but my partners pasta was too thick and tough.Overall it seems Carluccios seems to have lost its way a little, which is a shame.
NO SMOKING OUTSIDE...GREAT!The food and service is good at prices for all pockets. Daily 2 or 3 course menu £11.50 and £13.50. First place weve seen UK OR Spain where there are No Smoking signs on outside tables. At last....we dont have to be subjected to smoking inside or out ...well done!
Excellent service. Excellent food. A lovely bright and vibrant restaurant in this lively market town. Cant wait for the next visit.
The food was delicious, the service was excellent. Some problem with the air con made our table very cold but staff went out of their way to help. A good central location.
Came in on Thursday morning for an early lunch, met with a big smile and warm welcome from the manageress. She guided me through the gluten free menu and helped me choose what I wanted. The food was really good!Outstanding service from her and the waitress. Looking forward to going back :)
This was an unfortunately disappointing visit to what is normally quite a good place to eat out.Staff were best described as surly, 3 out of our 8 meals were wrong, and the staff also forgot a drinks order. All in all it was £150 that I wont get back, and I probably wont visit again.
Went there today manager recommend special risotto which I ordered and was given a bowl of green rice, with no flavour. I was very disappointed given I have worked in many Italian restaurants. I will not be going again and will not advise people to go there.
Fantastic birthday celebration at Carluccios. They were able to accommodate a party of 6 at the last minute. The food was amazing...everything from the starters down to the mains. We all ate so much we didnt have room for dessert. The service was friendly and efficient. I will definitely become a regular due to the outstanding food.
Our first meal at a Carluccio restaurant was early on Saturday evening, having pre-booked our table: it certainly wont be our last! Our waitress, Alyona, was really lovely: took an interest in us (didnt call us guys once!), and had a chat from time to time, even though her section of the restaurant was quite busy. Our food was served promptly (which was appreciated, as we had to be at the theatre nearby an hour or so later), and was truly delicious: David had Chicken Milanese, and I had the lasagne ~ I have to say that it was the BEST lasagne eaten at a restaurant, ever. The prices obviously reflect the quality of the food, and the quality of the staff, but we felt was money very well spent. We look forward to a return visit before too long.
Bland food, boring menu, over priced and poor portion sizes. Vegan options were practically none existent. Service was good hence they managed a star. Wont be going again.
Most enjoyable everytime. ( Months Later)Hi I have just recently been again over Xmas break and was not impressed the food is generally always good but on this occasion it was the service, may be a new team not sure all were different and new uniforms were being worn . May be due to holidays that the staff were changed but our service was terrible, if people dont want to work DONT, but dont turn in take the money and give me and my family poor service and try charge me for meals and drinks we havent had . The managers resolution wasnt very good either.I am quite annoyed as I did like this place
Visited today we were taken to our seat given a menu then ignored. We left when people that came in after us were being served.Have visited many Carluccio restaurants and always enjoyed great service and food .Sadly not in this one and will not return. On the bright side we went to Bistro Jacque great food excellent service.
Really great service with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lovely food.
Great staff. Very friendly and welcoming. Lovely for a coffee or a complete dinining experience. High quality food in a lovely environment.
Oh wow! Ive just been to Levico and Bassano and can say that the food here messured perfectly to what I had there too. The courgette flowers starter was "to die for"!Hostess is from Sicily, and one of the chefs also a true Italian, so made me feel like I was back on holiday again.Il mio pasto era delizioso e molto autentico!
Lovely Italian resteraunt in a very scenic position in the centre of Shrewsbury. Very good food, clean with good service, Daniel looked after us nicely. We do have a lot of choice of restaurants in the town but this is worth a look.
I really enjoyed lunch here but my main course was burnt- see photo
The food was delicious and the service very good. Would come here again.
I always enjoy a visit to Carluccios. Its quite possibly the closest to an authentic Italian as a chain restaurant in the UK can get. A pleasant, stress free atmosphere in the Shrewsbury restaurant, with very nice, attentive service. Great vegan options too.
Found Carluccios on a good day - food was great and staff delightful.Opens late which was invaluable though not too many diners that evening. Maybe that was the reason for the good service!
Absolutely superb food, could not fault anything. The staff are a credit to the business. Just excellent in every aspect.
Great food. Great service. Always a lovely place for a meal.
My wife and I booked a table here recently for our anniversary meal - 26 years. The attentiveness of the waiting on staff was far superior to that of other restaurants in the locale. The food was superbly cooked and portrayed a certain level of passion and love for all things culinary in their kitchen!I highly recommend a visit!
Nice atmosphere, great staff, very tasty food, little on the expensive side, nice for a treat
Me and my girlfriend had a fantastic meal went with the set menu and the portions where a good size and a great price.. Had panacotta to finish and it was so good.. The waitress was brilliant too made us feel welcome and very friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone
The food was great! Just small portions unfortunately! I could have eaten two meals and a dessert! Maybe Im just a pig? 🐷 lol.. Also, the service needs upgrading! We had to call the waitress to our table 3 times..
Decent place for a Sunday morning breakfast. Coffee was good and the breakfast was well cooked. We ordered the main breakfast and the toast with fig jam. Good place for a change of scenery.
Amazing staff, Amazing food and cant wait to return 🍜🍷🍽
Called in early Sunday tea time for a meal with our son. The meal was pleasant although my wife found the pate too rich for her taste. The pasta meals were nice and tasty but the service was disappointing. There were four staff on front of house but the orders were taken after 20 minutes with only two other tables occupied by customers!
Went for lunch as read the good reviews. Although the service was friendly I ordered a tomato/basil linguine and was upset as given beef based spaghetti ! As Im vegetarian not very pleasant. The order was changed with some apology but no compensation for the mistake and also annoying as the staff seemed to think it was funny - just beware
Second visit. Not quite as good as the first, but still damn fine. Notched a star because my main lacked the expected flavour. Starter and pud was 5 star. Service was excellent too, which is saying something as they were busy. There are plenty of places locally that leave you waiting and waiting...
Food good, and drinks, but so busy the service struggles to keep up. I offered to get my own beer from the bar as I sat and watch it get warm for 5 minutes before eventually it was given to me. Waited for food quite a while. I would sum up to say you will enjoy the food, but dont be in any rush at all for your food or drinks. Service doesnt match the brand.
The food is great and the surroundings are okay but the place has a (admittedly expectedchain-restaurant feeling that it tries to shake off but cant. The merchandise on the wall and robotic service are more McDonalds than fine dining. Prices are not top bad but ultimately it is pasta, pasta or pasta. Friendly enough waiter but we asked twice for a jug of water and as we wanted tap and not something with a £ value, they never bothered. Was okay, but wont rush back.
